You know, one thing that I found odd.  They state that if you have excellent relations with another race, that you can buy their mount instead.  Was this always in the game and just announced, because a couple days I could have swore that I saw a dwarf ride by on a warhorse.  I thought I must have been mistaken...but now I'm not so sure.

Must have been a Paladin, which has it's own class specific mount (warhorse).

Got together "the gang" for a Lord of the Rings marathon on Sunday.  Extended Editions, no less.  691 minutes of LotR goodness on a big-ass Samsung HDTV with progressive-scan DVD player.  Snack breaks between each disc and meal breaks between each film.  We began our journey at 0945 and ended at 2315.  First time any of us had watched RotK:EE.  Some great stuff in there.

While I like the sound of that, I wonder if I'd be able to sit through it all!!!!!  Can't wait to unwrap RotK and watch it though!

Yes, I think they're planning on adding it at some point. That's why in the cities there are what look like instance portals, but they don't lead anywhere.

I saw one of those in Ogrimmar and wondered what it was.  There was a gate on it.

Yeah one of the end scenes of WC3 was a space battle with marines, zerglings, and space orcs (lol).

I'd love to see SC2, it's going to be done, just a matter of time.  I am also suprised that it hasn't been annouced yet.  They had two WC titles going at the same time (TFT and WoW), why not to SC titles.  Hell, one is not even being developed in-house.

WoW has to have it's own team in addition to the team that did WC3.  As far as I know, Blizz North hasn't annouced anything that they're working on.  That's the group that does Diablo, IIRC.

I like the helm/cloak display option.  My helm looks stupid, but I need to wear it for the abilities.  I'd like to turn that off and still get the benefits.

EDIT: I'm also glad that they're keeping the hero class idea.  I'd like to see how that works.

While there are a lot of Elite quests as you move up, there are plenty of solo quests to keep me going.  I'm at level 32 now and I solo 90% of the time.  I'm playing Horde though, so maybe it's different.

Since everyone did multiple, I'll add to my original post the other games that I really liked this year:

Warhammer 40K DOW - lot's of fun, love the hectic battles.  Wish the campaign was longer.

Tribes - Vengeance - I had such a blast playing this one, but the community must not have.  It was damn impossible to find people on a server.  I'd stayed away from Tribes 2 and dropped out of the scene for awhile, but this one was as much fun as T1 was for me.

The ones that need to be commented on:

Doom 3 - I really liked the atmosphere on this one.  The graphics are damn near amazing.  The pop out of the closet thing turned me off.  I like how dark it was though, I thought it was fitting.

HL2 - Very nice looking game, sure the physics are neat, but it didn't do it for me like HL1 did.

That sucks, I had it happen to me once.  I was glad that my deductable was only $100.

World of Warcraft for me.  I'm just loving this game on so many levels.  Maybe it helps that I was a WC3 junkie, but man have I been hooked on this game.  I look forward to playing every day.

Just finished last night.  It was a fun ride, but I liked HL1 more.  I'm interested in seeing where HL3 goes, as well as what other games use this engine.  It sure it pretty.

Defias Rogues drop them occasionally. Rogue only loot, too.

Do they have these for Horde chars too?  I'd like to have one.  I liked seeing my characters hair.  Now it's all covered in my helmet.

At lvl 31 Undead, I have not seen a single hat/helmet for sale, unless it's at the AH.  I got mine as random loot.

PvP is not for me either.  As some people have noted in the other thread about PvP, I'd rather choose my battles, rather than have them forced on me.

Yeah, I came from a 9600 PRO though, so it was worth it for me.  It's faster than the 9800, but maybe not necessary if you're that close.

Hey all, HL2 has been lacking for me for the most part.  There were no wow moments like I had all throughout the first one.  Well I just had my first wow moment.

In the Follow Freeman mission, where you are fighting on the roof, trying to shoot down the Striders, and there's rebel forces fighting with you.  That was hectic and intense and fun!  I see bullets hitting the wall around me, teammates getting killed, bullets just whizzing everywhere, damn that was fun.  

Seems to get really good towards the end here.  Whew!

I ran some more Doom 3 tests last night.  1024x768 on High Quality settings, no AA.  Timedemo demo1 returned 57.7 FPS.  That's sweet!

Without reading all the posts, I will say that it's great to see and be a nice player in this game.  Sometimes it's frustrating when you start out and it's nice when you can help someone out to have a good time.

Nope it wasn't Wal-mart that did the buying.
