It almost sounds like you guys are playing realistic.  On normal, sprinting from cover to cover, peeking out to assess the situation, not once have I been one-shotted.

I've been playing normal, and several times I got one shotted peeking around a corner, but in all fairness it has been mostly the snipers that get me.  mostly.

360 Owners!!

In case you didn't get your RS:V2 from BestBuy, here's the special Weapon unlock code:

Quote
In the MAIN MENU use the following code to unlock the Exclusive Best Buy Assault Rifle:
(HOLD RB) Down, Down, Up, Up, X, B, X, B, Y Up, Up, Y

If I'm reading this right, it just unlocks the Tar21 earlier than if you earned it through ACES skill (Marksman)

Yep, that's the one.

Apparently over some of the weapon choices it says you can "buy" that gun on the Xbox Live marketplace.

First horse armor, now this.  Micro-transactions suck!

You do realize that this is the entire reason for the game, right? The game itself is supposed to be free (or really cheap), and you'll pay for extra weapons/costumes/etc that aren't supposed to unbalance gameplay with those who didn't buy said gun.

Uhh, the game supposedly is retailing for $59.99...

Yeah I think you're thinking of the PC game Battlefield: Heroes.

Actually, I never had a dvd player that allowed you to take the disc out and whenver you put it back it remembered where you left off.  I've never even heard of a player going that far.

It's not like the old PC games where you plan it all out ahead of time, but the campaign mode does have you telling AI guys where to stack up and how to breach then issuing the go command.

the PC games had a planning stage?  Tongue  I actually ditched most of the teammates in the PC games and ran the maps solo, except for the rare map that would require multiple teams (like one of the last ones in the very first game with multiple devices that needed to be disarmed within minutes of each other).  I do miss the fact that you never had to worry about enemies spawning back in after you cleared an area-  now it's pretty much 'ok, I cleared the area but one I start hacking/disarming this device we're going to get swarmed by more bad guys than are in any given Steven Seagal movie'.

Yeah that's why I could never get into the PC R6 games...you had to map out your entire path through the level at the beginning o_0.  No thanks!!

Map Details

The Variety Map Pack includes four new multiplayer maps. "Creek" is a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death. In "Broadcast," fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots. "Chinatown" is a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city. "Killhouse" features a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points.

Hitting down on the d-pad tells them to follow you or hold position.  I usually leave the guys on assault and as far as I can tell there's no real 'silent' option.

Sweet, thanks CeeKay!
11143  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / BB giving $50 gift card to Xbox HD-DVD Adopters on: March 19, 2008, 04:51:58 PM
Restrictions apply (from Joystiq)

Quote
Mega-chain Best Buy is sending $50 gift cards to customers who bought HD DVD players or attachments from its US stores prior to Feb. 23 (coincidentally, for our readership, the date Microsoft declared the format dead to the company). CNN reports most customers won't have to do a thing to receive the card as they'll be identified through the Reward Zone program, service plans or online purchases. If you're a customer who won't be identified in this manner, just grab a receipt (you do keep those, right?) or provide your credit card info to the company for proof of purchase. Gift cards will be sent out by May 1.

Hey guys, as I am playing through the first one I have some questions.

- Is there a way to have your guys follow you?  Or do you have to tell them where to go always?

- Do you guys normally put them on infiltrate, or do you let them go on assault and have all the fun?

- Is the gameplay idea that you set them up tactically and then take out the bad guys silently?

Thanks!

I use the Gillette Fusion and it blows the Mach 3 out of the water.

I agree, been using the new brand for awhile now.

I have no issues using water to tap out and clean while using the razor. I replace the blade every 3 shaves.

Jesus I don't know what a Gillette Fusion costs but if it's anything like a Mach 3 then that must cost a fortune!!!  I use Mach 3 and I replace my razor every....3 weeks, or maybe more.  I don't shave every day but usually I do.

It does cost a fortune.  I think because of this I grew a beard smile

have you had any issues with it clogging up between all the blades halfway through the shave?  maybe it's just that the water pressure for the faucet in the bathroom sink sucks but it's a pain to rinse out, even if I put it under the bathtub spigot.

Nah, I haven't had issues with the blades getting clogged.  I used the Mach 3 for years and after one use of the Fusion I was sold on it really.

The real question is is there anyway MGS4 lives up to the anticipation?

Is there any way it can?  It'll probably play the Halo game, where reviewers give it inflated scores even though it's not that good.  Millions of people buy it and enjoy it regardless, but it's no COD4.

Having played all of these on the PC, I think that HL2 Vanilla is the worse one of the series.  HL1 is my absolute fav.  Black Mesa is the best game location ever.  Yes, Zen world sucked, but Black Mesa rules.  HL2 was dull and boring for me.  But Ep1 and especially Ep2 are amazing.

Hopefully they'll put in the 'analog controls optional' enhancement to Lair. biggrin

there's actually a very good possibility that they will be...

Would be nice if they just release that as a patch and not a pay DLC.  Then I can pick up Lair on the cheap at Amazon and get analog controls without having to pay extra for them.

Especially since, you know, the game sucked.

From what I hear, the controls were the problem.  You fix the controls you fix the game.
