Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Watched Clone Wars vol1 - yup, HOLY CRAP!

I must have watched General Grievous in action a dozen times last night. If they show him delivering a massive beating to anyone in ROTS, then the crowd might go nuts with geek glee. Also, I had to do a freeze frame on it but I caught the blink-and-you-miss-it shots during Anakin's beat-down of the Sith warrior. The entire lightsaber fight with him was frickin' awesome, but the temple battle was especially grand, not to mention filled to the brim with foreshadowing. That was no man, baby. It's a female Sith!

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Spider Man 3 Villian cast...but who is the villian?
|
on: March 22, 2005, 05:09:41 PM

So, based on the ending of the last movie (warning, spoilers ahead), I'm guessing that there will actually be two villians in the next movie - whoever this new villian is and the second Green Goblin? I hope they leave the second green goblin out. Two villians is one too many.

Got this in my inbox this morning. There's no mention of who it could be. Based on looks alone I say Venom or Sandman.

OSCAR NOMINEE THOMAS HADEN CHURCH CAST AS THE NEW NEMESIS IN SONY PICTURES' AND MARVEL STUDIOS' "SPIDER-MAN 3"
Latest Adventure set to debut worldwide on May 4, 2007
CULVER CITY, CA March 22, 2005 - Thomas Haden Church, who was most recently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in "Sideways", has been cast as Spider-Man's new archenemy in the next chapter of the "Spider-Man" adventure, it was announced by director Sam Raimi and producers Laura Ziskin and Marvel Studios' Avi Arad.
"Spider-Man 3", which is scheduled for release on May 4, 2007, will reunite the successful team that was responsible for the first two blockbuster films. The franchise has grossed more than $1.5 billion in worldwide ticket sales and the new film will again reteam director Raimi, producers Ziskin and Arad, and actors Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Kirsten Dunst as M.J..
Production on "Spider-Man 3" is scheduled to begin early next year.
"In addition to the on-going relationship between Peter Parker and M.J., these films are driven by the great actors who have brought our villains to life," said Raimi. "Thomas Haden Church will be a fantastic and challenging new nemesis and we all look forward to working with him."
The identity of the new villain is being kept secret and while speculation is rampant about which character is being called into action, the studio will not comment on the casting beyond confirming Church.

Just beat the game tonight, finally. It was good fun, although by the end of 19+ hours, I was about done with it. In a couple of months/years when a sequel comes out, I'll be down to jump in for some more RE fun.

You know, I'm starting to think Lucas hasn't watched the original trilogy in a long frickin' time: CNN Interview"Obviously, fans would love to see a movie about Darth Vader running around killing people," said Lucas, who also was on hand to receive a "galactic-achievement award" from ShoWest organizers. "I'm not telling that story, and I'm not interested in that. That's not what the movie is.
"This first trilogy is really about the father, the struggles of a father, or a man, basically, to find himself, and at the same time fall into a trap of wanting certain powers, making a pact with the devil and basically spending the rest of his life regretting it." Regretting it? Vader regrets nothing until possibly the "Obi-Wan once thought as you do..." speech on Endor. He wants order and control and the rabble made to listen, which is what the Emperor essentially does. What the hell? :? I agree, Vader is one bad mofo. I don't see him regretting crap until the Endor talk with Luke. For being a murderous, ruiner of the free world, Vader sure has a soft spot for his kids. PFFT!

OK.... another question:
Is the Green Female Jedi extremely attractive, or am I just losing it totally?
If you stop the trailer when she is onscreen, and look beyond the Twilek "stuff" (she is a Twilek, right?) - She looks to be pretty damn hot.
Thoughts on this?
Who is she, anyway?
LD Yes she is a Twilek (Twi'lek?). The Jedi's name is Aayla Secura, the actress is Amy Allen. Check it here: http://imdb.com/name/nm1116989/IMO, they should have made Mara Jade that hot.

Amped 2 bombed? That sucks - I loved the first one. I never played the first one, but Amped 2 was great fun. I liked how it was more realistic than SSX.

It's hard for me to gauge how large those waves are. Without a reference, they don't seem too large. I know they were, but I just don't see it in those pictures.

Additionally I run tours of Scarlet Monestary to farm for AH fodder. On a totally unrelated note... As a level ~40 character, how the hell do you get to the Scarlet Monestary? The only route I could find took me through a level 50+ zone... Take the Zep to the UC and it's a straight shot to Scarlet. You have to run through some nasty lvl 7 mobs but you should be ok.

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Anyone been on a cruise?
|

I've been on four cruises. 3 to Mexico and 1 to the caribbean. For your money, it tough to beat the deal. Food and room is all inclusive, they just get you on booze and excursions.
Everytime I have been on a cruise, it's basically one big party....morning until night.
However, there's lots to do. They constantly have activities going on at all time of the day, so you shouldn't get bored on the "at sea" days. You can just kick back and relax if you want. I've never stayed in my cabin for anything but the night's sleep.
Excursions are fun too, and there's usually lots to choose from, so you can tailor it to what you like.
I've noticed that people are more friendly on cruises too. I've met lots of really nice people that will send emails and pictures when it's all over.
I'd definitely go back on one, it's just a fun time.

Ok second set of favs, I liked godaddy.com and tabasco for obvious reasons. I liked the convertable mustang one, although they did play it a lot. I also like the bud light one with the spanish bird talking smack at the bar. That was funny IMO.

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Why the Philadelphia Eagles will win the Super Bowl
|

Very tense last couple of minutes though  See.. now the game I was watching was exciting up until the last couple of minutes. At that point I had resigned the Eagles to a loss because of their complete lack of any real offensive plan. Yeah, what were they thinking at the end there? No sense of urgency?
