I'm having trouble finding abilities that click with the wizard.  My crusader and WD (and before that Barb and Monk) are tearing it up.  What are people using and liking with the wiz?  I'm finding the X abilities to be really crappy and I am constantly out of arcane energy to use R2 abilities.

There was a developer video a couple or so weeks ago that addressed the system changes that are coming with ACU and it discussed the changes in the parkour system in detail. Frankly it's what convinced me to preorder.

It's sucky that the release is being delayed, my 35th wedding anniversary is on the 16th and I doubt my wife will be thrilled with me wanting to spend the day gaming icon_wink

It's your 35th, she won't even know you are home!

Man, I have yet to see a Nemesis or a gift drop.  Do you have to be online at the same time as the other person or something?

Quote from: JayDee on August 28, 2014, 07:09:10 PM

Playing this thing basically solo and I'm having a blast still and I'm still only in Act III and level 41. Haven't even hit the good stuff yet.

I'm right about the same point.  It's farther than I made it playing the PC version originally, so I'm glad to hear "the good stuff" is yet to come.  smile

I've had gifts fall for people who are not online.  No nemesis invasion yet.

Thank you to Leo for pushing the edge of the envelope in the Torment difficulties so we can all experience the nemesis system  icon_smile

The music/sound effects that warn of an impending nemesis invasion are awesome.  Immediate adrenaline rush.

Man I started a wizard and I'm getting my ass handed to me.  Sorry to everyone who is getting invaded regularly.  My Crusader and WD fared much better than this glass (non) cannon wizard!  I've even moved down and the wiz is still getting owned pretty regularly.

I need to forgo my usual routine and skip all the exploration stuff.  So glad that they let you start at higher difficulties though.  I only got enough time to bring my crusader up to level 13.  You do notice how different this is from D3 at launch though.  Loot tables are much better now.

Oh yeah they changed loot considerably.  Drops are great for the most part now.

Just hit Act III and the shine is starting to wear off just a tad. The problem is that the game is just too damn easy on Expert. I may have just been super lucky with loot drops, but I have been two-shotting stuff since the end of Act I. Every boss fight so far has been a joke.

At this point I'm ready to just blow through the rest of the game and open up Adventure mode and harder difficulties.

You can increase your difficulty up to 1 level from whatever you launch the session as, so you should be able to go higher difficulty now.

Edit: nm I guess you do have to finish or hit level 60

I had the same immediate impression, but it quickly grew into my favorite power.
I sucks early on but gets better once you power it up.  I hated it too until I did that.

Same, after getting some more powers I actually used it most of the time.  Especially when traveling it was my favorite!
Being able to hover strafe with an attack that is essentially a machine gun was effective (and fun).  It's been awhile, but I think video is the power that lets you stealth kill/subdue?  I used that a lot zipping in to take people out without getting hammered.

Yeah that stealth subdue was great!

Regarding adventure mode and bounties, do I need to complete all 5 bounties in an act during the same play session to get a cache?  I give it a try last night and completed 2 bounties, but needed to shut down and do something else.  When I started up again later that night those 2 completed bounties were gone.

You need to complete all five if you're on the XB1 you should be able to switch to another app and come back to it in later as I've done this several times.  I'm not sure if you but the XB1 to sleep if it will work

It's per game session, so if you return to menu then the bounties reset.

That's based off of Diablo 3's secret level, Whimsyshire. Here's a guide on how to reach it. I'm not sure if these steps are still valid though, after all the patching. I think there's a cow level too, which is even more hidden.

I just figured it was based off of the backlash of that very first screen from like 10 years ago with the rainbow in the mist behind the bridge from Act 1.

Rather than dig through this whole thread let me just rant.

I f-ing hate boss battles.  I have been loving the game up to the point where I have to face the Angel conduit.  It has every stupid hallmark of a boss battle - which I hate!

It doesn't even f*&%ing fit even remotely with the rest of the game play up to that point.  I spent hours running around town climbing things choosing how to defeat enemies and using many different powers but no now I have to f-ing fight in a boxed in area where the safe spots disappear so I have to keep running around, and of course the boss is strong enough that I need to constantly seek out more ammo.  Of course the boss has three stages where he gets different powers or protections so I have to figure that out while jumping around like an idiot over lava.

I can't think of any boss battle cliche they don't cover.  It is maddening and stupid.  Why do developers think they have to include this.  It is like a stupid checklist or something.

Uggg!

I didn't like that fight at all either.

I'm also a bit over-leveled

There's no such thing in this game. All enemies scale to your level, which means you're free to do any content you want in the game at any time. Heck, if you want to, you could start Adventure Mode and go directly to Diablo himself at level 1.

Yeah you can't really be overleveled you can be over geared though.

For twinking, a high level red or yellow gem slotted in your weapon can make the first 40-50 levels a cakewalk.

+1 I have a high level red in a legendary weapon and my dps is so much higher than intended for my level.  Demons go boom!

As far as Act lengths, it could just be me but I always felt like Act 1 was the longest.  Act 5 blew by for me so quickly, but it could have been because of the anticipation.  You can certainly extend the length by exploring every open door and increasing the difficulty, but in terms of generic "size" I still think Act 1 is the biggest.

I haven't played Act V, but isn't part of this game exploring all of the dark corners of each area?  Or is that just me?

I play like that normally, I try and open up the whole map when I am playing in an area.

Yeah, this seems like the way to play to me, too.

Yeah there's also a streak where you get a movement speed bonus when you break 7+ objects.  Last time I played on the PC these were not in, so I am digging them too!
