Well....4 -1 for the Wngs over the Flames with only about 2 minutes to go. A very dissapointing and embarassing opening to the series for the Flames.  I might be wrong about this, but I don't thing Captain Jerome has a single point in this game.

Just tuned into the 1st period of the Calgary-Detroit game via live audio. The 1st period isn't even over and it's already 2-0 for the Wings. What's it with the Flames in this game ,they're playing like a bunch of old men! I guess the Flames haven't heard that it's the Wings that have the old men; cough, cough, Chelios.  disgust

He was one of a kind. You should pick up Slaughterhouse-5.

I couldn't get in to Slaughterhouse-5 at all.

Cat's Cradle is amazing.

Slaughterhouse 5, Cat's Cradle, Good Bless you Mr. Rosewater, Breakfast of Champions, Bluebeard I loved them all. I've always been a fan of his coined phrase; "why don't you take a flying fuck at a rolling donut, why don't you take a flying fuck at the mooooooooooon!"

I especially loved his pulp SciFi novels supposedly written by his fictitious author Kilgor Trout. My brother and I would always split a gut when we looked at the bio photo for Kilgour Trout on the back page.  icon_lol

His memory will forever live on in his books.

I futzed around with it last night.  I have to say, it's improved 90% over the beta.  Easier to read, easier to scroll, favorites don't take minutes to load, easy access to the www and search options, disappearing tool bar, pages that were not loading now do.  Honestly, the only thing wrong with it is that it won't play certain movies.  But color me much more impressed.

Hey that's great to hear Bullwinkle; downloading it tonight.

/discussion

LOL. Now that's funny.  biggrin

I can't wait to see how Detroit and Nashville fair in the playoffs now that they'll have to face some real competition. As far as I'm concerned, their regular season numbers mean absolutely nothing when you consider the pathetic, bottom-feeder central division they racked the majority of them up in. If Detroit can manage to survive the Flames, they'll be so beat up they won't be in any shape for a cup run. The sames true for Nashville, let's see how much they enjoy the Sharks coming at them full force.

I just wish more Canadian teams had made the playoffs, but I'm not entirely sorry to see the Isles make it in at the expense of Toronto and Montreal. They survived a lot of controversy to get there and it means I might get a chance to see Smytty play. smile Of course surviving the Sabres aint gonna be easy!

I'm pulling for my Canucks to go all the way! GO CANUCKS GO!!

I read the write up at the RPG Vault site. While I like to remain positive about new MMO's I must say this game doesn't sound very original at all. And the premise of a RPG involving the early exploration of NA just sounds boring. Other than prirates, bucaneers and scoundrels in the Carribean I just can't think of anything exiting about this period in N.A. for an MMO. Perhaps if it's a strategy MMO it might work.

7556  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [Wii] Wiikly update for VC on: April 09, 2007, 04:44:18 PM
3 Virtual Console titles this week:

Quote
Galaga
NES
2 players
500 Wii Points
Players control their fighters, with their unique ability to combine with other fighters and shoot down the invading aliens. Aliens attack in formations using a variety of attack patterns. Rescue a captured fighter to combine with it, forming a Dual Fighter with twice the firepower. Earn Perfect Bonuses more easily by using a Dual Fighter on the Challenging Stages. Galaga was released in 1981 and became an instant classic with its innovative fighter-combination system and varied enemy attack patterns.

Bravoman
TurboGrafx-16
1 player
600 Wii Points
The village of Nitta has been invaded by the army of Dr. Bomb, an evil scientist who is plotting to take over the world. Facing this crisis is Bravoman, who received his powers from Alpha Man to stand up against Dr. Bomb in the name of justice. The village of Nitta consists of 22 stages - action stages that take place on the ground and shooting stages that take place underwater. Action stages use a unique control system in which the height of a jump and the distance of an attack changes depending on how long players hold down the button. Players collect the Luck Symbols that appear when they defeat enemies and give them to Lottery Man to get recovery and power-up items. Stop Dr. Bomb and bring peace to the village of Nitta and the rest of the world.

Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
Sega Genesis
1-2 players
800 Wii Points
When King Thor was kidnapped, his son, Alex Kidd, held out hope that his father would return to their kingdom on Planet Aries. Finally, it was revealed that he was being held captive on Planet Paperock. As Alex, players race to his rescue through 11 levels, battling enemies and avoiding obstacles while winning coins that will buy special items and vehicles. At the end of each level, players encounter a boss and enter into a match of “Rock, Paper, Scissors.” Throwing the right symbols puts players ever closer to bringing King Thor home; throwing the wrong symbols squashes them beneath a heavy weight.

Other than Galaga I haven't heard of these.  The Alex Kidd game does sound interestng especially if it has a co-op play mode.

What you have displayed here is the Logitech PS2 keyboard which I have found to be a very good controller. It isn't obvious from this picture but you can actually detach the keyboard from the frame so that you just have a USB keyboard. Some friends of mine have actually plugged the detached keyboard into laptops and have found them to be quite decent. I don't know of anyone who's connected it to a X360 but it should work. I've tried connecting the detached keyboard to my Wii, but it's a no go.

7559  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [Wii] Which controlelrs can be used to play Gamecube games? on: April 08, 2007, 04:53:21 AM
Only gamecube controllers can be used to play gamecube games on the Wii. You can however,  also use a GameCube controller to play most Virtual Console games.

If you're considering purchasing one, I'd recommend the wavebird wireless as it doesn't cost much more than a standard Gamecube controller anymore. One thing to note however is that the wavebird doesn't support rumble, so if that's important to you get a standard Nintendo wired controller.
I'd also recommend you avoid 3rd party GameCube controllers as there were very few released  that were any good.

RPG's, MMORPG's and Adventure games are the games I most excel at. I do enjoy some FPS, RTS, sports and fighting games but all 4 of these are definitely not where my strength is. Although I can generally get good at any RTS game if I play it enough. And I can still beat my 10 year old son at Street Fighter  Roll Eyes

In regards to online FPS's, as I've said before I can't really play them without having my head handed to me. Which is fine just as long as my opponents aren't complete asses; something I haven't found to be always true on Live.
