Hey CSL done here in Tulsa listening to the game on the Vancouver 1040 Internet broadcast. As other's have said you can't watch the CBC streaming broadcast unless you're in Canada.  icon_cry
Here's the message from the CBC site as I try to connect to the feed from my hotel room:

Sorry, this file can only be viewed within Canada.

All I can say is my Member of Parliament is going to get a letter about this.  icon_evil

Anyhow...much to my amazement I'm watching the Ottawa - Pittsburg game in my room on the VS channel. dude Interesting experience listenting to the Canucks game while watching the Ottawa game.
BTW the VS channels between period commentator Keith Jones looks like a complete retard.  Tongue

Just out of morbid curiosity, do all these Pokemon games tie together beyond having the same characters (or do they even have the same characters?)?

Many of the same pokemons are available in each game. However, each game usually has some very powerful pokemon(s) as well as some unique environments that are exclusive to that game. If you played one of the GBA versions you will get a "been there before" feeling if you play another one. From my experience kids don't seem bothered by this. I personally know my son and his friends have put in some serios time in each of the Ruby, Green Leaf, Fire Red and Emerald versions.

By connecting a gameboy link cable you can trade pokemons amongst the varous GBA versions as well as upload them to the GC version for arena battles.

How does Virtua Fighter 2 stack up as a console fighting game?

The Genesis version is a 2D sprite fighter that if I remember correctly was pretty good for the time.

I was all ready to mock you, I thought for sure this was one of the first 3d rendered fighters, but I guess you're right.  This is the first screenshot I could find for the Genesis version:

Having played it on the Genesis Collection on PS2 I can say it isn't too bad.

I wasn't even aware there was a genesis collection for the PS2 that had games like VF 2. I'll definitely check out the cost and availability of it before I download this from VC.

Since Pokemon Diamond and Pearl [DS] are releasing on Saturday the 22nd, shouldn't they be on the list as well?
I might be buying Super Paper Mario and will probably be looking for an extra DS Lite and Pokemon on the weekend.

Vitual Fighter 2 sounds like a possibility as my son and I have had a lot of enjoyable gameplay with SF 3rd Strike on the XBox. Other than in the arcade I actually never played Virtua Fighter.

I'll have a real serious hockey withdrawal next week as I'm away on business in Tulsa for the week. The chances of me finding a place to watch a hockey game are about as good as winning the lottery icon_frown I know better than to expect that it will be on any in room TV channels.

If anyone here knows Tulsa and can suggest where I might find a place to watch a game, I'd be very happy to know. Otherwise I guess there's always internet live audio.

The CBC website is streaming every game live.

Nice, I've always just connected to the live audio feed from the Canucks site.  This is great I'll be connecting for every game, you can expect to see my comments. smile

Just got in after watching the game at a friend's. I agree that Hansen's assist on Bullis' goal was one of the best moments of the night. Didn't like at all how we played for the 1st 2 periods, especially the defense.
Love that goal by Pyatt though, wasn't surprised that something happened on that line.  icon_wink  thumbsup

Yes there's lots of robots, but my son and I still really like this game. If you play it coop with someone else it's a lot more enjoyable. It's also one of the few games that runs on the original XBox in 720p; an underrated game IHMO.

Yeah!! Finaly, finaly the ref calls Dallas on their little cheap bullshit tricks. You won't see many penalties called against a coach in the playoffs. Well as they say the cheap stuff comes from the top (coach) and trickles down to the rank and file (players).

Here we are at the 1st period of the 2nd Vancouver - Dallas game and I'm hit with the sobering reality that Cooke, Kesler and Burrow are all out injured. I'm really starting to get pissed off at the officiating in this series. I see a lot of dangerous cheap shots by the Stars and very few of them getting called!
NP because I know the Canucks can overcome it, but let's see some consistent officiating at least in the playoffs.

Great news, glad to see Harper supporting the military.  We don't need a big military, but at least modernize and give them up to date technology.  Hopefully the airforce and the F18s someone mentioned are next.  I'd be very surprised if Canada doesn't make a deal to pick up a number of Joint Strike Fighters at some point soon.

Someone made a joke about Canada's navy - we don't have a lot of vessels, but our frigates and destroyers are actually some of the most modern in the world.  The navy is the one area the Liberals didn't sell the military out, because we just have so much water to patrol, particularly in the north.

I actually made the initial comment about the Canadian Navy. My impressions are based upon my brother's experience between 1984 -1992, when he was stationed on a Canadian Mine Sweeper and Frigate as a Marine Engineering Officer. I remember visiting him here in BC on his mine sweeper which if I recall correctly was actually a converted fishing seiner; thus my comment of get new ships soon or sink. He did eventually get trained on the next gen, computerized ships which 1st sailed in the late 80's; so I did get to peek in some of the more impressive, modern ships.

Anyways....considering our airforce flew F-5A's and F-5B's for over 20 years, I don't think you'll be seeing us acquire JSF's anytime soon. I'm very proud of our troops and know they're some of the best in the world.  slywink thumbsup  I just wish our government would ensure they always had the equipment they need and deserve.

CSL, considering we lost 8 soldiers in the last week alone, I'm also not sure if now's the right time to be joining the CDN Armed Forces.

Anyone still playing this?  I just picked it up, and yesterday updated to 1.04760.  I haven't really got into it yet other than leaving the first house and talking to the two NPCs who join your party.

Had a really really hard time picking a race and class... I took a wood elf ranger, thinking I'd go Arcane Archer, just based on the class descriptions, but I hate missing out on 3/4 of the loot because I can't use it, or missing out on cool spell effects because I can't cast, etc...  Is an archer an effective way to go?  Is it fun?  Am I going to miss a ton of dialog?

What is a good class to play to really get to see the meat of the game?  I played BG2 and Throne of Bhaal back in the day but never played NWN1.

Rowdy, on my 1st play through of NWN1 I went with a Bard/Red Dragon Disciple/Arcane Archer build. Of course the race I chose was elf, which makes perfect sense for a DEX based build like this. I think my progression break down was Bard 1-5, RDD 1-7, AA 1-4, RDD 8-9. There are many guides / threads on Arcane Archer builds on the Bioware forums, so I strongly encourage you to do some searching there.

Although it wasn't until the end game that I finally made AA, it still was an excellent and very interesting build.  Being able to use the same character in the HoU expansion made it all the worth while. The inclusion of Bard with good lore skill meant I was able to use many of the items I acquired. And the RDD's dragon breath weapon is just awesome! smile

I'm currently about 2/3's through NWN2 and I'm going with my one of my tried and true favorite builds of Dwarf Cleric with 1 lvl of fighter.
