I just finished up the single player campaign and I really enjoyed it a lot.  It's not a perfect game, but its well done and quite enjoyable.  A lot of it is 'linear and scripted' but its well done.  I loved the open world of Red Faction: Guerilla as well, but I went into this game with different expectations and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

Some NFL Head Coach 09 and NHL 09.  I need to finish my seasons before the '10 versions come out.

Plants vs Zombies

30+ hours of playing and I'm still having a blast.
4  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Game of the Month Discussion, Feb 2009: Beyond Good & Evil on: February 19, 2009, 05:45:06 AM
I'd be up for ICO, Prince of Persia the Sands of Time, or God of War - all three have been sitting on my shelf since I picked them up for $15 a few years back.

I just finished BG&E tonight (for the first time).  Most of the end sequences weren't too tough, except for one.  It made it that much better when I finally finished though.
5  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Game of the Month Discussion, Feb 2009: Beyond Good & Evil on: February 11, 2009, 05:56:26 PM
After finishing the factory I took time to do Looters Cavern 3 and 4 as well as races 1 - 4.  I just made it into the Slaughterhouse and I'm looking forward to progressing some this evening.
6  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Game of the Month Discussion, Feb 2009: Beyond Good & Evil on: February 09, 2009, 03:25:45 PM
I made it through the factory last night and did a few races to win some extra cash and pearls.  I'm loving this game even more now than I did at first.
7  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Game of the Month Discussion, Feb 2009: Beyond Good & Evil on: February 02, 2009, 08:00:43 AM
I picked up the PC game sometime back when it was $15 - I hadn't installed it though and it's been a part of my growing back log for way to long.  I'm joining in on the fun this month!
8  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Where's the No More Heroes impressions? There they are! on: February 13, 2008, 04:07:05 PM
I hated it at first but I stuck with it.  I just finished boss #6 and now I'm really liking it.
9  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wii vs. Guitar Hero II - the non-gamers decide on: June 12, 2007, 05:30:45 PM
I had a much smaller party this weekend, but I did manage to get 30 people over to my place.  I had the Wii set up on one TV and Guitar Hero set up on another.  There was no doubt that Guitar Hero was more popular - I even had to set up my 360 with just one guitar on a third TV so that people didn't have to wait so long to play on the other TV.  The Wii was more of a hit at my place than it was at the party you mentioned though - we did have 2 people playing it pretty much most of the night, but there wasn't a line to play like there was for Guitar Hero.

I'll be playing GTR 3, Prey, and Runaway 2: The Dream Of The Turtle.

How long does the Halo 3 Beta last?  I thought that was over at the end of May.  If It's going for a while then I'll have to go pick up Crackdown.
11  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [DS] Need A game Recommendation For A Vacation on: March 15, 2007, 05:56:07 PM
I'm flying down to Florida for a week and I won't have my lap top with me so my DS will be my one and only trusty gaming companion.  I've owned a DS since Christmas but I've only bought Elite Beat Agents for it.  I loved that game, but I'm ready for something new.  If you had to buy just one game for the DS (other than EBA), what would it be?
12  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Computer Restarts When Opening A Folder - Or screen goes crazy on: February 03, 2007, 07:09:03 PM
Wow, the video card did it.  I got myself a kick @ss $75 ATI X300 SE (Wooo!) and everything works.  Time to try and do an RMA on my X1900XT I guess.
13  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Computer Restarts When Opening A Folder - Or screen goes crazy on: February 03, 2007, 01:38:56 PM
I built a rig back in August and while I had a few hiccups over the last few months it's worked pretty good overall.  The main issue I had was with system errors because I hadn't installed my WDM drivers for my Sapphire X1900 XT graphics card.  Once I installed those my system was golden.

About a week ago I was pushing the system back about 3 inches since it was sticking out past my desk and in the process of doing so it just shut down on me and it wouldn't turn back on.  I pulled it back out, unplugged it, and flipped it on it's side.  I plugged it back in and it turned on.

Ever since then I've been getting Windows system errors when I first turn it on and when I click on a folder the system either restarts or my screen turns into a million different colors for a bout a minute before I here an extra loud spin from the fan on the video card.  Then the folder opens and I can do work in it.  Until I need to open another folder.....

Any idea what it is?  I've swapped out RAM, the soundcard, and the LAN card since I had extras of those laying around and none of those had any affect (I didn't expect them to, but I figured I might as well try).  It didn't help.  I reinstalled the OS on another harddrive and even on a 100% clean install I had the same problem so it's definitely a hardware issue.

I'm pretty sure it's either a video card, mobo, or cpu issue.  Any suggestions?  I'm going to run out and buy a cheap video card for now and try and swap that out to see if it helps at all.

Thanks for any help!

I showed up at Circuit City at 8:30 and there were 18 people in line ahead of me.  Unfortunately there were only 15 units available.  I guess I'll try again next Sunday.

I've got decade-old games I have yet to really get into.  Some part of me still believes I'll have time to get around to them.  Fool.

My oldest game is the Police Quest Collection from I'm thinking I have about a decade's worth of games too.  Ouch....

Even if yours is worse than mine it can't be THAT much worse.
18  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Status of Your Backlog? on: November 29, 2006, 11:51:34 PM
I have a horrible backlog.  Between my PS2, Xbox 360, GBA, and mostly my PC I have over 130 games in my backlog.  My problem is that I make a list of games that I want to buy and then when they get to $20 or less I pick them up.  That means I end up getting about every game I want.  The problem is that now that I've graduated college, have a good job, and have a girlfriend I don't have the time to game that I used to.
My backlog problems really started when I got addicted to DAoC for 4 years.  My game buying habits never changed but my I quit playing single player games.

I set a crazy goal to try and finish 2 games a week for the next year.  We'll see if that happens, but so far I've been doing well since late September.
19  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Netgear Wireless Router on: November 29, 2006, 03:31:49 PM
I purchased a wireless router over the summe for the first time.  I have 2 desktops and a laptop hooked up to it and running on WPA security.  Everything works great!

Not to long ago, I had a few friends over to play games over the LAN.  We started with just oneextra computer hooked up to the LAN, giving 4 total machines.  Everything still ran smooth.  Another buddy showed up with his PC and when he connected it started giving one of the other computers a "duplicate ip address found on the network' error.  (That's not an exact quote - I forget what it said)..

We also could only connect 4 people to the games we were playing.  It didn't matter who the 5th person was, they couldn't get in.  Only the first 4 to try to connect could.

Is there some sort of setting on my router that I can change to allow more than 4 people toconnect?  It has 4 ports that I can hardwire into, but I assumed that because it was wireless I could support a lot more computers than 4.  Am I wrong?
20  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: It's The End of November: What's your GOTY? on: November 29, 2006, 01:38:31 AM
For me it has to be Company of Heroes.  That's closely followed by Guitar Hero 2, Final Fantasy XII, Half Life 2 Ep 1,  and Bully.

22  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wii Launch Thread on: November 19, 2006, 06:42:07 AM
Meijer was a no go.  Apparently they had 200 people in line this morning and they only had 8 units.  They handed out tickets to a lucky 8 and those people came back at midnight to get their systems.  I guess I should have tried Walmart; oh well.

Seems like these are all going to be sold out a minute after the stores open tomorrow.
23  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wii Launch Thread on: November 19, 2006, 03:23:21 AM
Meijer (a supermaket in the Mid West) is selling them at midnight tonight.  I need to get groceries anyway so I'm going to go check it out.  I doubt they'll have enough for everyone, but it's worth a shot.

Ouch.  My Best Buy is getting 46 and the line is already 3/4ths full according to the guy I talked to.  As much as I'd like to wait outside all night in 30F weather I think I'll hold off for a bit and just drive around town tomorrow looking for one.
25  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wii Launch Thread on: November 18, 2006, 08:58:45 PM
Should I expect to be able to walk into Best Buy an hour after it opens tomorrow and have a chance at a system, or are there going to be shortages for this launch too?
26  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Final Fantasy XII Impressions on: November 03, 2006, 03:27:21 PM
I've nver played a Final Fantasy game before and I don't regret picking this one up.  I'm having a blast with it.  It makes me wish I hadn't missed out on the previous 11.  I might go back and play a few of them when I'm finished with this.
27  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Best Buy Pricing Glitch: Get $10 off each PC game 19.99 and up on: October 25, 2006, 12:33:37 AM
Best Buy is running a deal where if you buy 2 PC games 19.99 and up you will get $10 off them.  Well, based on my experience and a few others over at it looks like they are offering $10 off each game.  I picked up Warhammer: Dark Crusade and SW: Battlefront 2 for $19.99 and $9.99 respectively.  Bother were priced $10 higher.  Good luck getting some deals!  I think I'm going to go back tomorrow and look for a few more lower priced games to pick up for $10 off.
28  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / What's your favorite X360 game? on: May 18, 2006, 07:53:11 PM
Thanks for all the input so far.  I think I'm going to pick up PGR3 for something to play until GRAW and Fight Night Rnd 3 arrive.  I was really close to getting NFS:W instead of PGR3 but everyone here seems to like PGR3 and it was $15 cheaper.  I didn't own an Xbox before so I haven't played the previous PGR games so it'll be all new to me.  I can't wait to gete home from work and go racing!
29  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / What's your favorite X360 game? on: May 18, 2006, 03:04:56 PM
As you know from the other thread, I finally purchased an Xbox 360. I ordered GRAW and Fight Night Round 3 but they won't arrive until early next week. I'm looking for a game to tide me over until then. I already own Oblivion for the PC, otherwise that would be my choice. I know close to absolutely nothing about any of the other games on the system, so again I am looking some recommendations.

I wish LucasArts would release all of their games  on CD also.  I have all the Sierra games in boxes and I managed to find all but Quest For Glory II for download on the web so I can play them using DOSBox.  I haven't been able to track down any old LucasArts games that I own unfortunately frown

According to, on October 11, 2005 Vivendi will be releasing  the Leisure Suit Larry, King's Quest, Space Quest, and Police Quest games.  Each series will be in it's own compilation and will be priced at $19.99.  They will be Windows XP compatable.  Unfortunately there is no mention of the Quest For Glory games.

Here is the link if you want to check it out for yourself.

Sorry if this is old news, I just heard about it today.
