cause the pvp is just ok. i mean it's fun and all, but is it honestly the main draw of the game? not really, no. i can really only see pvp being fun for players who actually do it serious like. a random group probably not so much. trust me, if you just want to find awesome loot. you aren't missing anything.

i've always liked the mass effect series.
it's the awfulness not even a game DA2 that should be purged in the fires of hell.
oh, not everything is good. i forgot about edi and a lot of missions are single player multi player.

i am so glad i found a FOV fix. makes some cutscenes hilarious though. 70 FOV is inexcusable. Everything else has been pretty good. As an adept I love the weight system. bought enough assault rifle upgrade that i'm still at 200 with that and a nice SMG. also, mid way'ish spoilers

figured out why my saves won't showing up. somehow my end game save is gone. just used an editor to set the flag and it worked fine then. pretty strange the save file would vanish but maybe something happened while i was backing the saves up before building my pc a few weeks ago.

well, still couldn't get it to detect my saves. seems to be a pretty common issue again too. fucking hell bioware.
guess i'll have to mess with it after work. re-downloading ME2 and going to try and open them up and resave them to see if that'll work.

my scores suck :| i'm not even in the money for serenity trick event. the racing one i had gold and 340k last night, probably lower now. been trying to beat some of my brother's too. it never fails that i ruin a 70+ combo at the end of the run. bah.
I switched from using the right stick to do tricks to using the face buttons and my scores have jumped a lot. i found it a lot easier to control what tricks i'm doing. but i usually do cheap and just switch between 3 tricks to avoid duplicates.

just switch when it says 1
I would try that but I made a promise. I don't blame you. I went from loving the game (see my initial impressions) to just playing to get it over with near the end. I wish Square would stop trying to invent new shit that doesn't work and just make a game with FF12 mechanics. at that point the fight is won. that very last form is ridiculously easy. not sure you can blame SE for not using the tools given to you. just restart the battle and set up a sen/sen/sen and it's auto win. that one attack is literally the only thing that can come close to killing you. if you're waiting until the animation is off you're doing it wrong. you have 3 count downs to get ready to switch. this count down mechanic is pretty staple in FF games that shit is about to go down. it's fine. this is the only boss fight in the entire game that you actually have to pay attention and keep switching paradigms, the rest are beyond easy.

the clock puzzles would be some what bearable if they weren't random or timed. the few ones that were static and not timed were pretty fun, but once i reached the timed ones I just said eff it and cheated.
I got my platinum on this over the weekend too. first game ever i finished all the trophies/achievements. total clock was about 74'ish. the beastairy and fragments weren't that time consuming as i thought they would be. the paradoxes a bit were because you have to play 4xx af like 4 times and sometimes you can't skip scenes.

i hate day 1 dlc as much as the next guy, but he doesn't understand that different groups get done with stuff before others. this game probably was content complete for months already.
dlc doesn't bug me anymore because i simply don't partake in stuff that isn't worth it. for 10 bucks i better get at least 2 hours of gameplay. in way i'd rather have dlc that's worthy be ready before i finish the game. odds are once i beat the game i'm done simply due to wanting to play another game. but it's pretty rare that dlc is worth the price.

pre-load on Amazon dated: This item will be available to download on March 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM (US/Pacific) I imagine Origin will be the same way. amazon also has 10 bucks off on the download version now too, a few days ago it wasn't offered. will get that when SSX ships and use my 10 bucks off to get another coupon! and the chain begins a new this year.

This has been on my radar since giantbomb did a quick look awhile back, but due to it launching a week before ME3, I'll likely wait a bit before picking it up.
it really was beyond stupid that EA pushed it back 2 weeks. I'll still be getting it and ME3, but wtf whose bright idea was that? also a big fuck you whoever made an unskippable 90s commercial. I played about 45 mins last night when it up. Not sure how i feel about the controls yet. They feel like nothing like i remember. about to mess around with them soon. for being modeled after tricky the tracks aren't very flashy, at least the demo ones. but i see no reason why that won't continue. no awesome fireworks going off when you hit big jumps, no multi-colored lights. in a way it makes them feel a bit stale. not a big deal, just a bit disappointed. late edit:ok, pretty much getting fairly good with the controls now. just got shy of the gold in the trick one. seems to be all about stringing together your uber tricks and keeping the combo going.

finally got the serendiptious achievement. left it over night again. came back with 2k left thought i got it, but nope. so i set it up again. about 30 mins later i turned on the tv to check it out and i had 27k in casino. boom. bought all the stuff from the casino too and got the rest of the fragments. only about 58 left now.

if you goto fragments and locations then see the graviton ones they show a picture where they are. only one that really gave me trouble was oerba.
it's like that quest in the zelda game with the ship. where you gotta collect rubies or whatever it was. except i said fuck you, zelda and never finished that game. so i agree, no matter what this is lazy design and just another stupid trend to extend a game's length with bullshit. like spaceports in swtor.

I'm at the final area now. Well I can go to it, the game makes it pretty obvious that this is the point of no return. So i'll beat the main quest tonight and finish up other things.
I'm a bit sad how easier they made the game though. I've been beating bosses quicker than normal fights now. Serah is maxed rav and almost max medical and about 40 into sab. Noel is max com and sen and half max syn. I got a com monster that can deal 6-8k on a stagger enemy. One of the enemies of augusta tower I believe. I think the original had the right mix of difficulty. Though some bosses were beyond stupid cheap.
Tried for 2 hours last night to get a green chocobo and the fuck wouldn't drop for me. Probably not needed, but whatever, now it's a point of principle.
Probably got about 30 some hours into it so far.
Also yes, level what you're focusing on at the moment on the big spheres. Basically breaks the game lol.

I'm enjoying it a lot too, I also dug 13. I think battle system is one of the deepest square has done so far. Finally having a save anywhere is great. I hope this starts to become standard in these games. Means I can play even if I have an hour to devote instead 3 or 4. The pokemon aspect is pretty neat too.

This game has far too many abilities. I dont' really find any excuse to have 4 full hotbars and still feel like I don't have enough room. Game is overcomplicated for no good reason.
it's like wow before they cleaned up the talent trees(for the first time). there's so much crap filler in talent trees. i played a warlock and a paladin, so i'm use to classes with lots of utility. but jesus christ man. when i have to bind so many keys that i'm starting to use shift+1(i hate doing that, it's awkward) and i reach 5 there's something wrong here. i probably have 20 hotkeys edit:just counted, it's 29 skills hotkeyed and there's about 4 that aren't because they are longer cool downs and for pve. amazing.

republic is so fucked to get pvp gear in this game.
the entire system is just retarded. i honestly want to know what bioware was thinking here. you can't even craft starter set so as a fresh 50 in pvp i'm getting 3 shotted left and right. people see me toss one heal and that's all i can do. probably just give in and spec dps til i get gear.
oh btw bioware, i fixed your warzone imbalance. make hutt ball a mix of players. throw your stupid lore to the wind since i'm pretty sure battles were fought in a hutt ball arena anyways. at late nights it's impossible to pvp because it's always 5 republics and a full sith. the warzone just shuts down after 2 mins. i hope to fucking god that doesn't count as a win for the sith, because that's broken as fuck if it does.

played the demo. the game is ok. didn't see anything earth shattering in the demo. it's fun though. will wait for 15-20 bucks probably.
don't dig the character models at all. the hair is awful and everything looks blocky.
not sure I dig the casting model in this game. it just feels very clunky to use
