It was 199 around Black Friday!!!! You missed the boat so to speak I believe. There will be a price drop at some point I'm sure though. Just not for awhile..

i know, i almost bit, but i had no idea about 999 and i already beat persona 4 years ago. so it wasn't a high priority. i was also saving money for the steam sale, that i spent a whole 10 bucks on. what a let down.

well my ideas were sorta right on 999, at least on zero, just not the reason why.
2  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: Zero Escape (999 sequel) [3DS/Vita] on: January 03, 2013, 10:21:09 AM
i know this isn't the main topic, but I recently picked up 999 after hearing patrick from GB talk about it.

I made the choice. I have not stopped playing this game all weekend up til today. It's amazing. About to get the true ending, but I think I figured it out already after the bad ending. Still lots of cool twists I didn't see coming though.

Now im tempted to get a vita for the sequel and p4 golden alone. hopefully it hits 150-200 soon.

so in case you guys haven't heard. nov is kicking off with a content patch.

some stuff confirmed:
a new harder dungeon compared to what's in the game
events leading up the main patch. possibly beginning as early as thur/friday
new spvp game types
new events

speculation is an entire new island to explore.

I wonder how GW2 is going to sustain a playerbase though.  Not everyone is into playing alts.  I guess through expansions like GW1 did.  I think right now there are a lot of people with 100% world map completion and it's been what, just a month?  I've been less interested in playing since I hit 80 but that also has to do with other great games that came out recently.

it's relax enough w/o a sub that it's very easy to justify not having to play(though i've easily put in 500 hours into the game). been playing borderlands the last few nights. just do the daily chill a bit. of course now that we have a wvw match worth playing, i'll be doing that more. wvw is great fun, but i guess it depends on your server too. quite a few people from my guild play so it's easy to get at least a 5 man to roam with and even solo you can do it a lot.

but i can see how people looking for raid style end game will get bored.
6  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Guild Wars 2 (official review on pp 21) on: October 06, 2012, 06:53:17 PM
if you really want to level him quickly. you can goto straits and get the with "the zerg". you'll KO 10 levels in about 4 hours. Getting there at 70 will result in many deaths if you're alone.

might be server dependable though too. but mine our zerg is always active.
7  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Guild Wars 2 (official review on pp 21) on: October 01, 2012, 09:53:03 AM
just a note, the effects add too. if it says 10 vit then another is 20 vit. it's 30 total.

Drop rates seem to be way up. Really hoping to find something I can use for a change!
Found an amulet I hope will go around 40m or so for a dps monk. Got through 1.75 paragon levels... So far so good. Though they nerfed wicked wind I don't seem to be dying much using that build still. Act 2 was a relative breeze.

white mobs chance to drop rares was increased 4x.

My witch dr is finally fun again and the paragon stuff is genius. I hope that hint of something more than pvp is a random infinite dungeon with a leaderboard. you die you start all over! farther you go, the more insane affixes you face.

also, i really, really hope pvp was massively changed. cause it won't hold people's attention for long.

steam sale will be 1.75, just buy it then that's what i did.

about 300 hours of gameplay
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Jersoc-1748/

quit a while ago. used the wizard bug and beat diablo on inferno. gear check difficulty got boring after a while. was hoping for a more dark souls type hard, not wow gear check rage timers bullshit hard.

Started the longest journey the other day. Game is pretty neat. Never really played these types before. didnt realize puzzles would require lots of back tracking if you didn't pay much attention to everything and it's mom. still it's enjoyable. too bad it came out a billion years ago when resolutions were so shitty.

some path of exiles. i bought into the beta a while ago, but it's a free weekend for everyone right now.

maybe some Dayz. seems pretty fun, but i don't know anyone with it so i pretty much just die. oh well. plus the game has some major bug and balance issues. a little disappointed i bought arma 2 for it, but i've bought worse for more. probably just need to give it more time to learn the ropes.
14  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Guild Wars 2 on: July 24, 2012, 10:20:42 AM
this is the first MMO i'm rolling a melee as my first char. absolutely loved the guardian. I tried WvW for the first time this bwe and it was so much fun. way, way funner than Spvp. i can see a small team of 5-10 players just changing the tide of battle really easily. a few of us broke off us once and took over supply areas which probably helped in capping the garrison not too long after. plus running supplies is really underrated. siege weapons are a must.

the sylvari and asura zones were amazing. i will probably level in those areas for a while

keg brawl was awesome. hope anet implements a tournament with brackets for that too. if you didnt try it, you missed out. do it at launch.

the end of the beta event was simply amazing. i really hope the anet fixes it up and releases has a live event. too amazing not to be included.

Do the choices really matter, though?  Has anyone gone back and played both ways on some of these choices to see if it really plays out differently?  For instance, I think on the farm that who you chose didn't matter as far as the eventual outcome...just mattered with how certain people perceived you.  I've gotten the feeling a couple of times that the choice didn't actually impact how things would play out, but haven't tested it to see.

i haven't played the 2nd yet since i want to finish it in one setting(and with guild wars this weekend, probably won't have time til late sunday), but according to this week's GB podcast people remember shit you said to them from the first ep in the 2nd. some choices do affect dialogue later down the line too. plus they are a lot harder to make, which is really what it should be about. hell, heavy rain's decisions matter more than anything in mass effect.
16  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [Telltale]The Walking Dead on: July 18, 2012, 07:55:43 AM
yeah the first episode was really good. great writing and voice acting so far. the choices matter more than a bioware game too!

i went 300 hours not finding a single set item. last night i found 3. i found 2 of natalya's within 15 minutes of each other lol. sold the ring for a cool 27 million and the helm for 2.5.

finally farming has paid off. but why can't i find a weapon frown
btw to people low on cash. try to sell your unid i63 stuff. depending on what it is you can sell from anywhere between 200k-1.5 million. gave me a quick bank roll last week. people pretty much want weapons though. if you hit a rev bow or hellion you just scored 1-2 million unid. it's a gamble i would take every time because the odds of you getting a good roll is slim.
18  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: June 17, 2012, 06:16:57 AM
going from 15% to 4% is a wasted stat. that's nothing basically. so stupid when they could've just put a DR on it.

blizzard's balancing team needs to take a closer look at the SC2 team. WoW is balanced like shit and now Diablo 3 is suffering the same fate. Honestly, who fucking cares that people stacked IAS? how could they not see that casters would do that in the first place? I mean, this isn't a competitive game. i just wanna shoot mobs and get loot, that's all. PvP will be a joke anyways having actually played it.

Is anyone else stuck? I'm through act 1 inferno, but act 2 is an absolute slaughterfest. I tried it last night with my buddy who is a barb, geared out quite well with millions of gold worth of ah gear and we got smoked.

I've got 24k dps, 34k health with 55%ish resistance to all.

I have no interest in chain rezzing to fly thru the levels... Or grave zerging.

At this point I'm kind of done with inferno til the patch unless we are totally missing something here?

that's pretty much it. this is compounded by (until the patch) you are unable to get the loot you need to tackle act 2 in act 1. so you're pretty much forced to spend millions, but to get millions you need to farm but you can't farm because you can't do act 2 and act 1 gear sucks and. well you see the huge problem. i had no problems with inferno being hard, but until the patch comes there's little point because even farming would be a waste of time.

goblin farming has just gotten boring now.

so the current problem is that as hard as stuff hits in inferno solo, it hits even harder with more players so you go from being 2 shot to being 1 shot AND it takes far more damage to kill them.

pretty much, it was just broken in inferno. more than 2 people and good luck! you can a molten or plague and you're fucked. you aren't killing it w/o 10 deaths.

also the reports of the goblin farm  nerf are wrong. he's there just as much. no clue why people were saying it was nerfed.
25  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: June 06, 2012, 06:32:12 PM
Next patch info, sounds great. Having most inferno loot drop in hell act 4 should help with people not quite ready for act 1 and having it drop in all acts in inferno is going to be a welcome change. The MP changes will be most welcomed as I never did inferno with others because it wasn't worth getting 1 shotted. I think blizzard is addressing lots of the core problems with the game right now in this patch. Too bad it's probably 4 weeks out frown

Where is your favourite Goblin farming area Jersoc?

Anybody else have any tips in this area?

it got nerfed apparently, doesnt appear as much. still should be good enough for 4 players. it's act 2 dark soul stone or whatever quest, number 8. you can youtube it. glad i got the farming in. i knew a nerf was coming soon.

Toying with the wizard melee build, doing pretty well in act 2 except for the god damn wasps, seriously fuck those things up their stingers. I beat maghda with it, so there's that. I need a weapon with more life on hit though, 500 doesn't cut it in act 2. it tore through act 1 so quick. did a warden butcher run and never came close to dying outside one pact i didnt know was frozen. this is way more fun than kiting. i went from 27k to 13k dps but it doesnt really matter. since they all group on your hydra+the meteor just destroys them. it's a really fun build and fellow 60 wizards should try it. if you already dont' have a lot of resistance you're going to be sinking some gold, but most will be a weapon and shield if you dont have one.
27  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: June 05, 2012, 09:07:37 AM
holy crap man. i have sunk ungodly hours into this game. 94 on my witch dr and 54 on my wizard.

my wizard is decked the hell out. almost 27k dps. been farming goblins all week. goes so quick with 4 people it's basically non stop. found a 1k dps bow i gave my brother, would have easily netted me 2-3 million if not more. it has like ungodly stats. my first and only 1k dps weapon so far. i could probably do the majority of act 2 now. i'm slaughtering champ packs clearing the goblin and that's harder because you cant aggro goblin!

once they fix crafting i got the tomes, good lord do i have the tomes.

Did you have an authenticator on your account?  If it starts happening to those accounts, that is when I will worry.

No authenticator but I have a hard time believing I was hacked.  Between having my blacksmith lose levels and losing the items and inventory of ONLY a single character it doesn’t add up.  It has also been reported by way too many people as evident by these threads: Link 1 Link 2

you're right, you probably won't hacked, you were phished a long time ago. with this many comprises this quick it's very obvious someone was holding onto these accounts waiting for blizzard to release diablo and MoP. Auths. are free, can get one for android, ios and windows phone or use winauth.
someday the old people in congress will make a law that comprising any account that holds personal information online is a federal crime, until then, blizzard accounts are more valuable than your bank account.

i started a wizard over the weekend, up to lvl 53. used the mortar trick to go from 30-40 in about 2 hours and blasted through nightmare. i'm enjoy my wizard way more than my witch doctor. my wizard is always lucky beyond belief with drops. my WD saw crap for random rares, my wizard finds them from trash mobs or barrels all the time. i found a legendary within 2 hours of starting her too. hope this carries into inferno!
next character will be a monk, which i might start before they fix the mortar thing, heh.

the AH is becoming an interesting meta game too. there's been a few hot trend that I jumped on and made a killing too

why am i finding nightmare shit in an end game difficulty?

also, give witch doctors a mana regen. wizards are lol.
witch doctors do have abilities that Regen mana and quickly I might add. Soul walk has a time but my favorite is using spiders with the widow maker rune.

you can not use VQ in inferno, if that's what you mean. if you keep 4 skills on CD for no reason other to regen mana you are dead. you also can't spam bears anymore. I'm 60, i've played my WD for over 80 some hours. I know about all the VQ builds.

hit 60 and inferno level last night. took a while for me and a wizard to kill diablo. i think we went through like 8 different skill sets before we got him. we basically just kited him. now that i read he can be stunned, well this is going to be easier lol

i still can't decide on a build for WD. I really, really hate relying in vision quest. I think our low mana issues need some serious attention. having to have 4 skills on CD to actually use attacks is beyond stupid. It's not even viable in inferno, basically need spirit walk for the get out of death in less than a second. if that's on CD you're gonna die, a lot. Pets are lol, as usual they don't scale. No fucking game gets this right, ever. it's 2012 people. I think we're beyond this, yes? Scale pets to player or gear. Here blizzard, i'll do your homework. Scale with our int or vit.  give them like 30% more dmg with int and 30% more hp with vit(or whatever makes sense, i have no clue their hp pool but it might as well be 1 for all the good it does).

if the damn servers weren't down I could be messing with all sorts of stuff right now.

found my first unique, woooo. Up to act 2, think i'm near the end now. Absolutely digging the witch dr. once you get 20 you get a ton of options to play with and it just grows. I have no idea why elective mode is off my default. i can't imagine being stuck to their shitty system like that and there's no indication to turn it on either from the game. so remember people, turn that on!

right now on WD i'm rocking the poison darts as main attack, plague as second. using 4 dogs, the giant thing and the spider mother. then soul harvest to regain mana and destroy hell's minions quickly.
