Resident Evil 5 is a no brainer here. The best Co-op game around.
At this point, I have replayed the heck out of this game, both single player and co-op. It's by far the only game I have replayed this much. It's fun in single player, but it really shines in co-op mode. So I agree. At the moment this is THE co-op game to get.

Finally got the Platinum trophy for RE5. I really got my money's worth from this game. Had you updated to 1.02 before you got that and if you did, have you purchased the DLC for the game yet? Just curious id the DLC is required to get the Platinum after updating.

You'll always have your entire inventory no matter what mode (New Game+, Chapter Select, or either of the two with any difficulty) you play the game in. The only exception is when you have another human player with you. In that instance, you'll still have all of your items/weapons/whatever, but the other player will have all of their stuff for their character.
And as far as the save goes - Capcom nuked one 'bug' in the PS3 version that the 360 version has - the ability to dupe your inventory and make lots of money very quickly. All of the tricks to do it don't work in the PS3 version.
That said - I wish developers would stop using the 'protected' save bulllarkey. Just let us do whatever we want to with our saves, okay?
Thanks! I've started playing again on normal. I have to say I don't see much difference between normal and amateur. Also been doing a fair share of treasure hunting. I have 49 out of the 50. I know where the last one is, I just haven't tried to get it yet.

So far I have to say I'm impressed with the game myself. I've been through it twice on amateur, once with the nearly brain dead AI, and once with the wife playing co-op. Also went back and treasure mined many of the easy chapters. Upgraded several weapons to max, and even bought the Gatling gun and longbow. Now I am working on finding all the treasures. I'm down to only needing 5 or 6 more of those.
I do have a silly question though. Now that I have beaten the game, if I start a new game on something other them amateur will all my inventory still be there? With all my maxed out weapons and infinite ammo setup, I'd hate to lose them, since I did run into a couple of tight spots in the game as far as ammo goes. I"m fairly certain that everything will still be there, but it doesn't hurt to be cautious.
It does annoy me to no end that Camcom has protected the save game so that I can't even make a backup copy. This is the PS3 version, not sure if they did the same thing to the 360 version or not. I"m the kind of person that just knows I am going to lose the HD in this system one of these days, and really don't want to play the game all the way through again with limited ammo.

Congrats! Hopefully I will be able to do that before too much longer.
I ended up picking up a Strat HSS (Mexican made) along with the G-Dec JR locally for the same price that zzounds had them for. It's going to be a long, long time before I can manage to play even the simplest of tabs. I'm still having issues getting my fingers into position to play easy cords. My biggest issue seems to be flexibility and strength in my fingers. I went ahead and bought a gripmaster to see if I can't strengthen my fingers a little bit. It's been pretty slow going though. I'm determined I am not going to give up, but I may also have to do the lesson thing.

But you could always spend $129 to purchase a brand new PS2! It's an amazing feature and ability!
Stupid fucking Sony. Makes me glad I have a 60GB model.
Or I could actually just find my old PS2 and dust it off. Then start looking for all the cables, memory cards, ect. I've got one around here somewhere....Just haven't used it in a long time.

I might have to give them a try and see how bad they are under emulation. I knew about the emulation issues on the 80, but I had way too much trouble finding a 60 at the time. Plus there just aren't enough games on the PS2 I want to go back and play again.

Can anyone confirm that FF2 will work correctly on an 80gb PS3?
I'd love to play it again. I played it through on the xbox, but would rather give it a shot on the PS3 since I don't even have my xbox hooked up any more. (Yes I am lazy enough to buy the game again for a different platform, then just hook up the xbox)
Also has anyone tried playing #3 under emulation? Was thinking about picking it up on ebay if it would work.

Hot! And good grief, a 'wardrobe malfunction' could have happened in some of those shots and made them X-rated. the one I quoted came very close. Look very closely Trust me. I was!

This is the only thing I have at the moment. I've been getting the bug again though. This is a piece of flash from the wall, that I really like. Believe it or not, it reminds me of one of my dogs. The next piece will be something custom. I just haven't figured out what I really want yet.

If it helps any (money-wise), zzounds.com offers to break up your bill into 4 monthly payments. As long as your initial bill is $395+, they'll break into monthly payments, if that helps you.
I did notice that. If I end going for a more expensive guitar, that's more then likely the way I'd go. My problem, is that I don't know if I want to wait for shipping. I tend to be one of those "instant gratification" type of people. (Which in itself might be why this venture may not really work out well for me ) I suppose I can always spring more for a better instrument, but I am just hesitant to do so, until I am sure I'll stick with it. Thanks to everyone for the advise. I'll let you know how things turn out, whichever way I decide.

OK between playing Guitar Hero III, Rock Band, and now this thread, it looks like i have the fever too. I've never really played anything but a violin back in middle school, but I think I am going to have to try to learn to play a guitar. For someone that has only plucked around on one as a kid, and never even learned to play a single cord, do you think the Squier Strats are worth picking up?? I would love to try an acrostic as well, but since I already have some issues with mobility in my hands, I think it's best to start with an electric. http://www.squierguitars.com/products/search.php?partno=0310602595I see mixed reviews for them, but for me the price is right. Especially since I have no idea if I will stick with it long enough to actually play worth a darn. I can pick up one new with a small amp on e-bay for pretty cheap. The guitar alone can be had for around $100 bucks. btw: Anyone ever see this guy named NAUDO on youtube? I was looking for easy to play tabs and ran across him by accident. Simply amazing guy that plays covers of just about everything from Beethoven to a bunch of 80's rock / pop. http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=NAUDOPRD&p=r

I already tried all the local Blockbusters. They don't have anything, including the 40's. For the longest time they were selling a bundle pack that included an 80gb unit, a remote, movie, game, and an HDMI cable. Of course they are out. I've been working with the manager at one of the local GS stores, and he is doing what he can to get me a another one. He has a couple of 20's on order, so maybe I'll get lucky. We told him we'd take anything other then a 40. At this point, I"m willing to even try an 80. I've had Rock Band sitting here in the box for the last week.

Normally I wouldn't for something like a console, but I was looking for full BC which can only be had on a 20 or 60gb and since Sony no longer makes them, I really didn't have any other options.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / PS3 20GB GameStop Refurbs
|
on: March 14, 2008, 10:51:20 PM

[RANT] OK either I have to have the worst luck in the world, or GameStop's idea of testing PS3 refurbs is a little different then mine. I ordered a 20GB about 2 weeks ago online. Of course it ended up being on back order, but I still got it with only about a week of waiting. No big deal, I'm still happy that I have one in my hands...That is until I actually plug the thing in. Green light, but no audio, no video and only a single flicker from the HD light. I played around with it for about 30 mins, even trying to hold the power button down for 10 secs to reset the video mode to 480I. No luck, which I didn't really expect since I didn't have audio. At this point, I went ahead and pulled the HD out of it and it's hot enough to nearly blister my hand. So my wife calls the customer service number to find out what we need to do for an RMA. She finds a local store (30 miles away is local to me) with one in stock and an hour before they close. We rush out the door and make it just in time to exchange it. Now for the good part. The replacement unit works for all of about 10 mins, video goes to garbage, unit locks up and starts acting just like the first one. If I leave it off for 30 mins, I can get it to work for about 10 mins before the same thing happens. Now I am waiting for my local store to hopefully get some more in on Monday. Hopefully the 3rd times the charm. At this point, I am ready to give up on full BC and just grab an 80 as soon as someone gets one. At least the 80s are newer and hopefully less bug free. At this rate I would have a better chance of getting a RRoD free 360 then a working refurb PS3. ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! [/RANT]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_PlayThe Remote Play functionality originally did not work with the 20GB configuration of the PlayStation 3 as it lacks Wi-Fi and therefore cannot connect and stream to a PlayStation Portable. The 1.60 firmware upgrade addresses this issue by allowing the PSP to connect to the 20GB version. Users set up a Remote Play connection by first registering their PSP with a USB mini B cable. Once this has been done the PSP may be connected to the Playstation 3
Looks like it's not an issue anymore.

So if I get a 20, does that mean I'll have issues if I want to use a PSP with it in the future? Or does the PSP use bluetooth to communicate with the PS3?
PS3's communicate with PSPs through a cable - no bluetooth communication (as far as I know...). Never heard of remote play? No it's not bluetooth communication, they talk through your wifi network. You could theoretically be at a hotspot somewhere and remote play back into your PS3 that is on at home and play a PSX game in the drive. Pretty nifty stuff. That is how I thought it worked. So it looks like I might have to opt for a 60gb model aftter all.

Just remember that the 20gig PS3 doesn't come with wifi.
Does the 60? I thought I had this figured out, without wifi I might have to consider the 60. Although it won't be that far away from my router, I suppose I could do wired. WTF is up with Sony and all the changes between models. I knew about the BC between all the different models, but I didn't know there were any other changes.

Thanks guys!
I also should have said "order" instead of "grab". The only 20GB models I can find are online. For the difference in price between the 20 and the 60, it didn't make since to go with anything else, since I plan to swap the HDs anyway.

Looks like they are going to actually replace the discs after all. Just got this in email because of a support case I opened with them several weeks back about the mono issue. Response (Michael Hill) - 12/06/2007 03:47 PM Hello, This updated response is being generated as a follow up to your incident with our customer support department. We recently became aware that some consumers have not been able to enjoy the full audio output in the Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. We are currently working with Nintendo and are planning to issue an improved audio experience in future versions of the game. We expect to have re-mastered discs available by early 2008 and we will be offering consumers replacement discs at no cost once they become available. Should you have any further inquiries, please contact Activision customer support at www.activision.com/support. We thank all of our customers for their support and patience.

Could be the valve. Every dishwasher has a water inlet valve that is controlled by the timer. If you take the front panel off, you should see it near the bottom front of the unit. It will look something like this: http://www.azpartsmaster.com/shopazp/G.E.+Dishwasher+Inet+Valves+(WD15X93).htmlShould have 2 hoses and a couple of wires coming off of it. On my older GE it was light blue and to the left. *VERY* easy and cheap to replace. These things go out all the time and cause the type of issues you are seeing. It shouldn't cost more then $15.00 for the part and maybe 10 mins to put in.

I usually start off the day with about 2 -3 cups of coffee, then at lunch either a 20oz fountain soda (diet) or unsweetened ice tea. It's after work where I really go to town on soft drinks. I used to finish an entire 2 liter a night. Now I can make it last a couple of nights. Of course since I am diabetic, it's at least diet, and in the past month I have even switched to caffine free, so it's mostly just flavored water.
