I will watch this show when the scourge that is reality television has been wiped from the earth, when midget wrestling takes it rightful place alongside professional football and baseball as an American institution, and when Martha Stewart writes and stars in a show about a detective agency comprised solely of hot blonde women who solve each week's crime with the liberal use of sponge baths and cleavage.

Well, I felt ep. 3 was a bit of a letdown, to be honest.  I'm still sticking around since it may yet find its footing, though.

The thing that ticked me off was the doctor's suddenly remembering that he was the guy who worked on the chubby guy all those years ago...and that he tore out a section of his wall at home to store a device used in the experiment.

I defended this type of story device for the first two episodes since those could be explained (albeit thinly) by coincidence.  However, this past episode it was just sloppy.

I hope this isn't an indication of how future stories are going to play out.

Maybe it'll go into a time loop thing with either Peter or Hiro at the center, and the only way to end it is to chop the head of the insidious Ando.

As long as everyone (including the women) start sporting Goatees, I'm okay with turning the entire cast evil for season 3.

any apothecaries have any advice on what materials (I'm using Butcher as my gathering skill) I should use to advance beyond 37 in my apoth skill?  Everything I get in the Troll Lands starts at a requested apoth skill of 50 while anything I try to make below my level yields no level increase.   icon_frown

Explaining all the discrepancies found in the season 3 premiere as due to time travel is a really, really cheap deus ex machina.  While I think DMD's theory was a good one, I also lament it if it is indeed true.  It's akin to waking up and finding Bobby Ewing in the shower at the end of the season.   icon_evil

I'm playing on medium and I'm about 2 hours into Act II and the combat is just WAY too easy.  Does it ramp up?  If not, is there any way to change my difficulty setting to Hard without starting a new game?  I did have difficulty with the first act big bad, but things are falling like houses of cards before me now.   icon_frown

Mohinder has never once struck me as disappointed in the fact that he had no powers.  He's always come across as someone driven to understand his father's research and, after discovering the fate of his sister, to help those who were a danger to themselves or others.  Yet within 2 minutes of ep 1 of season 3, he roughly grabs plague chick and starts proclaiming that he can now GIVE people superpowers.

No, I'm sorry, that came from left field.  It was just sloppy writing.  They need to get together in a war room, hash out where they think they're going, then turn the bus in the right direction.  Right now it's heading for a crash.

My best guess on what's going on is that someone's boyfriend or girlfriend suggested that it would be fun to have everyone go "dark" this season so they could wear black leather outfits a lot.  So now they're rewriting all their characters so they can justify the purchase of 23 Matrix style trench coats.

edit:  i was also laughing at Mohinder, after 2 seasons of intensive research in both a lab and in the field, suddenly realizes within that aforementioned 2 minutes that it's (AHA!) adrenaline that's the key!

Where did you get your diploma, big brain...the Hasbro School of Science and Small Appliance Repair?

I loved it!  Mohinder has always been an irresponsible scientist.  He's always been more concerned about science than ethics, so I was not surprised to see him try the serum.

Overzealous, yes.  Wanting to give everyone powers?  That came out of the blue.  Wanting superpowers himself?  Another one out of the blue.

Mohinder was written completely out of character.

Odd that so many of you don't like it.  I enjoyed most of it (especially the fact that they played an extra episode).  Thought the story moved at a good pace and was enough drama and action in the mix.  Definitely couldn't compare it to season 2 imo.

not really all that odd since i believe the majority of reviews (both amateur like those found here and professional tv critics alike) are calling it a mess.

the change in the way characters act is worthy of complaint.  I noted this on OO, but when the hell did Mohinder turn into a power mad scientist?

It's just a mess, they need to fire the writers they have and get someone on board who understands the basic concept of continuity.

damn, Supernatuarl started with a bang!  It'll be interesting to see where they go with the new storyline...

I love Supernatural.  It's just come together as a decent successor to Night Stalker, IMHO.  The interaction between the Winchester brothers, the use of classic rock, the underlying story arc that doesn't stray too far from the essentials established in the first season...the writers and producers have done a great job of keeping it on track.

Well, you could always grab a drink at the bar in The Signature Room at the top of the Hancock building.  Hit up Rush Street for dinner at one of the many famous steak houses.  Stick around Rush Street and sit in a Piano Bar (like The Redhead ) for a bit while enjoying a nice drink and listening to some lite music.  Then head over to the south side for the aforementioned mugging.

Yes, because you would be honoring the threads name sake.

Okay, I'm back.

So...how are things everyone?

Now that is dedication.

I couldn't keep it up.  The intense pressure an Adam Baldwin undergoes in this day and age was just too much.  During the four minutes I spent as Baldwin, I was inundated with marriage proposals from over 2000 women, asked to star in a remake of the Godfather, offered a seat in the senate AND told that I was to replace Lincoln on Rushmore.

It's just too much for one man.  I never knew...

No, I think that is to make them.  Will try the suggestion above in a few minutes.

Edit -  Yes, it worked.  It looks like you don't get that message telling you to shift-right click unless it is in your inventory.  So, looks like you cannot add a talisman to an item unless it is in your inventory.

Cool, thanks!

I love Mel Brooks circa '60s to early '80s.  However, I watch Blazing Saddles and marvel at how funny and edgy it is, then I watch something like Robin Hood: Men in Tights and wonder what the hell happened?   icon_confused

Is it a studio thing?  Did they put restrictions on Brooks based on a misplaced sense of political correctness?  Is it Brooks himself?

What are the rules on the inclusion of stories/news on Baldwins that are NOT Adam based?  Would something about Stephen Baldwin be acceptable, or would it result in a perma ban, temporary suspsension or a groin based blow administered with some type of special groin punishment device?

you should start a new thread about it!

If I did it would probably be GTs first thread devoted entirely to Adam Baldwin. Now that would be something. We could talk about Firefly, Chuck and Full Metal Jacket all in one thread.  icon_twisted

Not a day goes by that I don't start to create a new thread on Adam Baldwin, get about halfway through, then decide it may not be received well and just delete it.  One time I actually thought about going out on a limb and including something about the unrelated but similar sounding Baldwin brothers, but I'd been drinking all day and thought I'd better just step away from the keyboard and sober up a bit before doing something like that.  Whew...glad common sense won out THAT time!
