The surprise out of that bunch was Kutcher; whatever your Kelso concept of him might be, he's a pretty smart man. Reznor recently raised over 600 grand towards someone's heart transplant, too.

What in his post warrants taking a man-card?  I'm not even asking to be a jerk, I seriously don't get what in his post has anything to do with his masculinity.

Kutcher.  That is all.

7407  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] Sacred 2 finally gold! on: May 26, 2009, 06:36:31 PM
Thanks!

On the matter of combat arts, I found this on the sacred 2 wiki page:

Quote
The higher the level of a Combat Art, the stronger the effect. However, this will increase regeneration times, so it's best to balance the levels according to your play style. For attack Combat Arts, you may prefer many small fast hits with a short regeneration rather than one hard hit with a much longer regeneration.

    * Note- Increasing a Combat Art to too high of a level can cause unsatisfactory regeneration times for certain Combat Arts. It is often best to leave some Combat Arts at level 1 until your character is high enough level to support the increased regeneration time gained by using more runes.

I think I may have gimped my character by leveling up all my combat arts.  I didn't realize the regen rate was cumulative across all aspects.  Perhaps I'll start over...although it'll hurt since I've got about 12 hours with this one.
7408  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] Sacred 2 finally gold! on: May 26, 2009, 06:22:50 PM
Question:  what are the downsides to using all combat art rune drops to increase your level in the associated combat art?  the manual suggests that you limit yourself to only a handful of the 15, but I honestly don't see why you should since I'm getting so many combat art rune drops during the game (i'm playing on silver).  Is there a point of diminishing returns I'm not aware of?

Also, when do I start my class mount quest?  I'm lvl 22 right now and I just entered chapter 2.  My quest book says nothing about a mount quest and my class quest appears to have been finished as there's no longer an entry after the last one I finished.

still lovin' the game, by the way!   icon_biggrin

I don't know why you didn't use one of my tried and true methods for avoiding termination from my book "Avoiding Job Loss The Hepcat Way".  Hell, in chapter 2 I relate an anecdote that would have worked perfectly for you!

I set up a meeting with my boss earlier that fateful day.  During the course of our discussion I casually mentioned that I knew I was about to be fired for filling the water cooler with Mountain Dew and hanging a sign over it that said "Fresh Pee!".  When he said his hands were tied, I simply replied, "Are you SURE about that?".  When he explained again that he had no choice because Lester in accounting was about to file charges after everyone started harrassing him for finishing 6 cups before finding out it was soda, I tore open my shirt and threw open my office door, stumbling out into the hallway while screaming, "RAPE!".

...in hindsight, I probably should have done this face to face instead of via a conference call.

But you get my drift.

(seriously though, let me know if there's anything I can do to cheer you up)

I was curious about that, too.  I'm thinking that there's basically one code that works for all purchases of the game, but we would need Island Dog to confirm.  If it is and they want more sales, I would think they would allow us to just post the code in this thread.  But I don't want to do so without confirmation.

I'm not sure why folks are lamenting Branagh's involvement as some type of career wreck.  Favreau directed indie films before really finding fame with Elf and Iron Man.  Oftentimes the material can transcend its own limitations at the hands of a good director.

plus his version of Hamlet was awesome.  It replaced the Mel Gibson version of it as my favorite film adaptation of the play.

if i remember correctly, the guy who rewards you for that quest is somewhere else.  check the map and move your cursor over the circles until you find the quest with the same name to figure out where he is.

Here's the latest on the codes:

Quote
Greetings Demigod user!

As you know, Demigod is a real-time action strategy game that incorporates tactical combat with role playing elements. When played on-line, it is best played with groups of people as opposed to 1 on 1 as seen in many other strategy games.

Since Demigod's launch late last month, we have been working with developer Gas Powered Games to enhance the game. We have a lot of exciting updates in the works. One of the things we have been particularly concentrating on is improving the game's multiplayer connectivity.

We have been gradually improving the Demigod network connectivity for those who enjoy playing on-line with other people. On Thursday, May 21st, we released an update that introduced our own network of servers to host the connection for those users who have had a hard time getting connected to other players online.

As a token of our appreciation to our customers who have waited patiently while we've addressed the on-line multiplayer difficulties, we present you with this 50% off coupon on purchasing a second copy of the digital version of Demigod for your friends or family. This will only be valid until early next week so this would be a good time to use it.

In addition, next week we will be sending out a second coupon that will give users 20% off of any game or application on Impulse. To help encourage an active Demigod community, we will be occasionally be sending out additional coupons to active players of Demigod (people who play more than a couple of hours a week).

We thank you for your business and hope you are able to enjoy these updates to Demigod.

so it looks like we'll be getting some more codes in the near future.  they're going to send me into bankruptcy, it seems.   icon_lol

I know the feeling.  I'm trying to keep my gaming budget down by buying games months after they hit the shelves.  However, I had been waiting on sacred 2 for so long that I just bit the bullet and traded in a crap load of my older games.  Doesn't hurt that I've befriended the manager at my local gamestop and he gave me the game at a used price and a little nudge on my trade in dollars.   icon_biggrin
