You have to learn to use the whole loaf, just like Native Americans used the whole buffalo back before Costner civilized them.  Make clothing out of it.  Create toys for your children out of the crust.  Let it harden in the sun, then sharpen the edges for deadly throwing squares you can use to then hunt down and kill more bread...trucks.

Or maybe french toast? Or using the old bread to make croutons?

could these "croutons" you speak of be used as some form of melee weapon?

They could put Tonya Harding in there for all I care.  I don't much care for Smits, but last season was still good.  I'm just glad Dexter's coming back.

Yeah, I was surprised at how little Smits brought to the show.  Plus, the guy ain't agin' well.  Still, the show is basically just a vehicle for Michael C. Hall's considerable talent.  I honestly can't imagine anyone else playing Dexter with such aplomb.  I can't wait for season 4.

p.s. I was surprised to read a few months ago that Hall had married the woman who plays his sister in the show.   icon_eek

Yeah, I bought the stalker sequel last night, then turned around and bought WiC two minutes later.   icon_lol  I have the first WiC but I can't find the dang serial number for it.  I figure for less than the cost of the expansion, I get that and the second game.  But dang, 7.9 gig?  Plus, somewhere between my comcast connection and the gamersgate servers, there must be some conflict as the connection is spotty at best.  I have to check the download every few hours to make sure it hasn't paused the download, requiring me to hit the UNPAUSE button.   icon_confused

so far this week i've bought king's bounty, men of war, stalker: clear sky and WiC.  I know I'll get the SotS if it's the ultimate edition as well.  these sales are gonna be the death of me!

already this week I've bought men of war and kings bounty off gamersgate.  they're trying to usurp steams role as my bankruptcy source.

I love that series.  I stopped after about the third or fourth book, though.  I really do need to go back and finish the series.

By the way, if you get a chance, read his short story collection A Coven of Vampires .

7335  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] Sacred 2 finally gold! on: May 26, 2009, 06:36:31 PM
Thanks!

On the matter of combat arts, I found this on the sacred 2 wiki page:

Quote
The higher the level of a Combat Art, the stronger the effect. However, this will increase regeneration times, so it's best to balance the levels according to your play style. For attack Combat Arts, you may prefer many small fast hits with a short regeneration rather than one hard hit with a much longer regeneration.

    * Note- Increasing a Combat Art to too high of a level can cause unsatisfactory regeneration times for certain Combat Arts. It is often best to leave some Combat Arts at level 1 until your character is high enough level to support the increased regeneration time gained by using more runes.

I think I may have gimped my character by leveling up all my combat arts.  I didn't realize the regen rate was cumulative across all aspects.  Perhaps I'll start over...although it'll hurt since I've got about 12 hours with this one.
7336  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] Sacred 2 finally gold! on: May 26, 2009, 06:22:50 PM
Question:  what are the downsides to using all combat art rune drops to increase your level in the associated combat art?  the manual suggests that you limit yourself to only a handful of the 15, but I honestly don't see why you should since I'm getting so many combat art rune drops during the game (i'm playing on silver).  Is there a point of diminishing returns I'm not aware of?

Also, when do I start my class mount quest?  I'm lvl 22 right now and I just entered chapter 2.  My quest book says nothing about a mount quest and my class quest appears to have been finished as there's no longer an entry after the last one I finished.

still lovin' the game, by the way!   icon_biggrin

I don't know why you didn't use one of my tried and true methods for avoiding termination from my book "Avoiding Job Loss The Hepcat Way".  Hell, in chapter 2 I relate an anecdote that would have worked perfectly for you!

I set up a meeting with my boss earlier that fateful day.  During the course of our discussion I casually mentioned that I knew I was about to be fired for filling the water cooler with Mountain Dew and hanging a sign over it that said "Fresh Pee!".  When he said his hands were tied, I simply replied, "Are you SURE about that?".  When he explained again that he had no choice because Lester in accounting was about to file charges after everyone started harrassing him for finishing 6 cups before finding out it was soda, I tore open my shirt and threw open my office door, stumbling out into the hallway while screaming, "RAPE!".

...in hindsight, I probably should have done this face to face instead of via a conference call.

But you get my drift.

(seriously though, let me know if there's anything I can do to cheer you up)

I was curious about that, too.  I'm thinking that there's basically one code that works for all purchases of the game, but we would need Island Dog to confirm.  If it is and they want more sales, I would think they would allow us to just post the code in this thread.  But I don't want to do so without confirmation.
