One of my favorite scenes in Tucker and Dale is when Tudyk's character is running from bees...while a teenager is running from what he believes is Tudyk the maniac. Tudyk eventually catches up with and then runs past the "victim" and Tudyk's bemused look as he glances over at the other runner is worth the entire film.

I've noticed Tucker and Dale, but the little Netflix summary makes it sound like the worst thing or the best thing ever. And often when I roll the dice, I end up with stuff like ATM and The Frankenstein Theory. If you guys swear by Tucker and Dale, perhaps I'll give it a try. I typically don't enjoy horror movies at all, but was thoroughly entertained by Tucker and Dale. A strong cast combined with the sheer absurdity of it all make it an absolute blast. For the first 5 minutes of Tucker and Dale I thought I had made a big mistake in watching it. Then it switches narratives rather abruptly and it went from horrible to just plain fun. I highly recommend it.

I think Stark is far more interesting than Iron Man. And this movie understands that and works with it. At the end of the day, the human element is what makes Iron Man work, not the CGI fights. The whole point of the movie was to make audiences understand why Stark can be Iron Man. He's ingenious, he won't give up, and he's flawed enough to make mistakes that bite him in the ass...which in turn gives him a chance to prove the first two items just listed.

Ah...yeah. I really don't understand the pricing model of digital content sometimes. I can usually find much cheaper hard copies of movies. You'd think the lack of any overhead beyond hosting the content would make it cheaper to buy in a digital format.

I guess I'm also sorry to you, as I thought his low key delivery in response to Stark's anxiety ridden meltdowns and rapid fire quips was fantastic. He was what Stark needed to bring him back down to earth.

So, I kept watching Venture Bros in the hopes that it would click, and it finally did around episode 5 (the Bowie references totally won me over ). Will finish up Season 1, and am seriously considering dropping the $$ for Season 2 on iTunes. Seasons 3 and 4 are crazy expensive though...$30 and $37, respectively. Not sure I'm up for that. Even the boxed dvd sets? I remember getting them for around 20 bucks each, if I recall correctly. Or are you stickin' to digital content only? ...and yeah, Bowie as League leader is great. But wait until you meet Morpheus' boss. Gorrammit, I just bought John Dies at the End!
I really, really enjoyed this one. I laughed like a moron when John's friend tries to escape a basement in an early scene by running up the stairs and going for the doorknob. It suddenly turns into a penis and he screams, "This door CANNOT be opened!" The way he says that just made laugh out loud.

The kid alone stole almost every scene he was in.
He had a great chemistry with Downey Jr.. What's so unbelievable about that opinion?

Saw it this afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised. It felt like a fully realized series from the comics. I could've done with a little less Paltrow, but that's a minor quibble.
The humor was well done, by the way. The kid alone stole almost every scene he was in.

Well, now I'm back to being worried this thing is gonna suck. Apparently (Spoiler about something that spoils supe's story) I'm probably wrong, but I think that's shown in one of the trailers -- explosions all over the place. Krypton probably got blown up, but the planet didn't blow up per se, if you know what I mean? Here's the article that caught my eye on this rumor. I really hope it's not true as it takes away a core piece of the Superman tale. I have no issue with revamping minor things in a character's life for the current age, but some parts of a character's story I consider essential to that character. This being one of them.

Intention and perception are sometimes two very different things. I'm willing to admit that his intention may not have been racially motivated, but it seems that he himself apparently embraces a stereotype that has negative and racial connotations (something rap musicians are often accused of...rightfully so in some cases, but not always). So in this case it may just be a case of either satire (in which case it's just badly written satire), or just a person who embodies a stereotype willingly.

I love the internet. Everyone thinks they're Jonathan Swift. However, I now believe you were being serious when you said you thought the commercial was hilarious.
Back on topic: just because a black person can express racist ideas it doesn't invalidate any other incidents. Pryor was using satire, but since that's subjective I can understand how some may consider it racist. But even if you believe he was just being racist, it doesn't automatically mean that any other cases of racism is suddenly without merit.

I don't consider it the most racist ad in history (God knows you only have to go back about 30 years or so to see some truly racist ads), but I do think that it attempts to present some racist stereotypes in a stumbling, juvenile manner that ends up looking like an endorsement for why those stereotypes exist. ESPECIALLY in light of how misogynistic and disturbing it was.
There's a fine line between tragedy and comedy. Dark humor CAN be funny...but you have to be a skilled comic to know when something goes from funny to just plain disturbing. Tyler the Creator appears to be completely and utterly without skill in that area.

after this is a smash summer hit. From your lips to God's ears. My only fear is that it will flop because it doesn't have a toy franchise in place already. That or it actually has a story and confuses a lot of average movie goers.

Wow! This commercial cracked me up. If this skit were in a Wayan's brothers movie no one would have said a word. Ridiculous oversensitive media strikes again.
Really? You thought that was actually funny? You're being completely serious? And it would actually work in a wayan's brothers movie because those things are simply unwatchable (with the exception of I'm Gonna Git You Sucka which actually wasn't a film by the brothers...just Keenan. So is exempt from the tragically true statement "All Wayan Brothers films are simply not funny.")

Guy breaks into house. Gets busy with himself...but is naturally distracted by the awesomeness that is a remote controlled helicopter.Read the confession. It's worth the price of admission alone. “I know this sounds weird, but RC helicopters are real fun! I must of lost track of time, but I was flying it around all over the upstairs. I was getting pretty good. I decided to take a break and eat my salad that I brought with me. I even brought a super good balsamic vinaigrette to put on it. After I ate my salad, I had another urge to masturbate. Hopefully, you guys won’t tell the media that I was beating off in a stranger’s house. Do you think if I bought a fresh pack of 4 AA batteries to give to those people they would let me off?” p.s. for those wondering, yes...of course it was in Florida.

Why not? A show solely about revenge can get real old, real quick. Especially when the folks you're trying to get revenge on are about 3 or 4 guys in total. Unless you REALLY pad the scripts, that's one...maybe two seasons at most.
Taking the lead character out into the world and showing him evolve past that single note characterization is definitely the way to go. Look at the last season. The show was at its best when it explored his interaction with the railroad and his attempts to grow.

I dunno man. Seems to me like Hep ain't afraid of being funny.
A Canadian saying that only bolsters my case, Purge. Clearly Xenophobia is also one of your undocumented quirks - I find that odd since you've invited me to move to Raleigh. Do you live there, or are there people there you hate? If he's from North Carolina that certainly explains a lot.
