Is/does the console version up to date in terms of patches/features as the PC? Does it now also have seasons etc etc?

I think in general they are matched up now, but no seasons on the console versions.  And no Nemeses on the PC version, I think?

Definitely no nemesis or gifting on PC. PC is getting a significant patch in the next few weeks as well... not sure when that hits consoles.

Played maybe a half hour of the beta last night and enjoyed it. Games were pretty lag free. Time to kill was VERY fast though, so not sure if its going to be to anyone's liking who was hoping for different.

I much prefer this movement to the Exo movement of CODAW since people aren't just jumping to the top of the screen when you start shooting them. I am also terrible at wall running. If I wall run, I die. I think 1/3 of my deaths last night were environmental.

Its also weird to go back to Treyarch spawns (which are relatively static) after a few years of the crazy dynamic spawns of the other two COD developers. I think its better, but its going to take some getting used to.

Overall, I had fun. Happy with that.

so in this future world where everyone has super high reflexes, nobody can react to being under fire?  you're grasping here.

If you can actually run up a wall or slide in response to taking fire and not die doing so, lemme know.  I doubt it since every previous COD you are dead no matter what you do barring luck/lag.  I'd be fine with having the ability to boost up in the air to avoid fire too, or turn invisible and dart away, all things we don't do in real life.  The point was that there is nothing you can do in COD once you know you are tkaing fire before you die.  Even when you have a ballistic shield in COD, you can't even raise it before you die due to the ttk vs lag.

Man, who pissed in your cheerios?

The point is they designed this game for the soldiers to constantly be in motion, so it makes more sense to run up a wall or slide through a doorway when faced with fire then to stop and hit the ground. You can also float in the air and thrust in a direction to avoid fire.
nobody pissed in my anything, it just seems like you aren't even reading what I post that's all.  I never said anything about stopping or hitting hte ground.  I was talking about being able to react to coming under fire.  You'll also notice that in the video you posted not one person being shot at survives long enough to go up a wall, jump away, or break line of sight.  Even with this super high mobility, it's irrelevant.  See first, shoot, dead.

I'm pretty sure that's normal for COD (or at least all of the ones I've played since Black Ops 2). It seems they tune to shoot first and win (so long as you can hold aim).

I actually like that, but I can certainly understand why some don't.

Did the fitness stuff actually come to fruition? I remember looking like 6 mos after launch and it was a bunch of garbage. I'm definitely interested... if they work.

I will also echo that voice just doesn't work consistently enough for me to have it be useful vs frustrating.

This is a sad liberal, left leaning, heavy handed pig sty that I'm ready to be banned from.  In some ways Ron should actually thank me as my banned/moved threads have as many views as any.

Poking the pigs is how I honestly have thought of it the past 3 years.

Ignorance at it's sad best.  Anyone that thinks Obama has been anything but a failure is an absolute brain dead chimp (not racist you PC idiots).    Not even a democrat vs republican thing at all, a good vs ignorant evil thing.  I'd not hire this piss-ant fool of a president to do anything, much less run the most powerful country on earth.   This tool only order flags to be taken to half staff today, yet posted a rainbow whitehouse  immediately.  The chickens have and will continue to come home to roost (quote from your President's "Pastor", which you all likely forgot, as you ignored it when you voted for this lunatic).

Good Night  to the wonderful desolate, desert GT.

Niners traded Andy Lee

Man the Niners are really going to need a good punter this season, maybe Andy wanted out of the upcoming train wreck of a season?

Actually the smartest move the 49ers have made all off-season. Got a good, young leg in the draft and got something of actual (though minimal) value for an old (but great) punter on a pretty expensive contract.

I mean it doesn't matter since they're going to suck, but Lee's leg wasn't going to hold out with as many punts as he was going to have to do.

As an update, I wore my mine in workout mode for a ball hockey pickup and the thing performed flawlessly. I was basically running around a 120x40 foot area and it tracked about 1.5 miles of running, 481 active calories burned, and an average heart rate of 146bpm over an hour and a half game (with subs, so I wasn't going the entire time).

38mm Sport model got delivered yesterday. I've been wearing it since. Holy fuck is it comfortable. Definitely more comfortable than any of the other watches I wear. I'm also super impressed with the rubber strap - its much nicer than any of the other rubber straps I own for my other watches (three), the least of which cost north of $50 so the quality is impressive given this thing was $350 total. Definitely a nicer rubber strap than you'd get with another $350 watch. The clasp is kind of finicky (I'm not used to this type of buckle) but I love the way the loose end tucks under. Really nice.

So far I'm pretty addicted to checking how my heart rate is doing, mostly because it shows me in better shape than I thought I was in.

Hey Siri works infinitely better than any other iteration of Siri for me... which was a surprise. I was actually able to dictate a couple of text messages with zero issues which has almost never happened with my iPhone.

I don't really love any of the faces... I guess I want something more in line with a mechanical watch and all of them have something about them I don't like. I've settled on Color for now but its still kinda meh.

Apps are hit or miss thus far. Some work great and make sense and others are DOONNNTCAAAARREEE. The coolest is Shazam.

My biggest complaint is that its not very Apple-y in the sense that there's no way I'd want my mom or girlfriend to have one of these. They'd be confused by everything other than telling time. I always thought that's the thing the Apple did well - it made sense to the non tech/non gadget people. This feels more Android-y than Apple-y, and thats not a good thing. But its also not shocking... This is a new form factor and a new way of interacting with technology. Apple probably still has to figure out whats intuitive and what isn't.

Happy I have one.

I am guessing you know, but just in case, the watch faces are really customizable as far as what data is displayed or even some of the UI elements.  Again I'm sure you know, but just throwing it out there.  Also, why 38?  I find even the 42 to be very small.

Yeah I've played with them all don't love any of them. I actually think that the analog ones annoy me less now. I guess there's just something artificial about the analog ones for me.

And I went with the 38 for two reasons:
1) I want this thing to be unobtrusive. I fundamentally find these watches to be ugly relative to a 'real' watch so I'm really just wearing it for function. Basically if I am not in a t-shirt, I'm going to be switching out for another of my other watches so for this use case, I wanted utilitarian and unobtrusive.
2) It was $50 cheaper.

The only time I wish it were bigger is if I am interacting with it, which isn't a lot to be honest. I think the 38 blends with the bracelet nicely and almost makes it look like an activity tracker, which is the look I want.

Actually, I would have been upset initially, but yes it would have.  Because a) I might have not placed that order and ordered an alternate model, b) for certain I wouldn't have spent the week before the release date anxiously checking my order status, and c) I definitely wouldn't be wasting my time arguing with people who already got their watches lol!  Let's face it it's always easier to apologize for Apple when you are on the "other side of the fence."  Hell I was doing it myself last week when I got my Macbook on time, so I probably just jinxed myself.

I was having a really tough time hitting and was striking out 10+ times per game and couldn't figure out why. I couldn't get my Dynamic Difficulty above Rookie which was insulting because I was an All-Star level hitter last year. Then I read that turning off Guess Pitch helps because while guessing correctly is a huge boost, it also hampers your ability to make good contact when you swing at a pitch you didn't guess correctly. I didn't know that, I thought it just gave you a boost and had no negative side effects otherwise.

So I turned off the Guess Pitch feature and just started looking for pitches in certain locations myself, using directional hitting to help square up a pitch in hitters counts. And in the last three games I've got 10+ hits and scored 6+ runs and improved my hitting difficulty from Rookie to Veteran, and am already making progress towards the next step up.  I should hit my sweet spot for difficulty soon.

Dynamic Difficulty is still the best feature that anyone has ever incorporated into a sports video game, by the way.

Caveat: I haven't played this years.

The right thing to do with guess pitch is to only swing if you get it right (or the pitcher hangs something). So I only guessed pitch on the first pitch (because I'm taking the first pitch UNLESS I take a hack if I nail location and speed) and times when I am up in the count and I am willing to take the pitch if I am wrong. Basically play it like real batting smile

Otherwise yeah, the negative impact is bad.

I'm still in limbo, this is definitely the worst pre-order experience I've ever had with Apple.  Following the threads, it looks like they are fairly (I guess) moving in order of when orders were received, and mine was only confirmed 7 minutes after midnight.  Unbelievable that their stock could be this poorly planned out for "launch."  Seems like they should have known well in advance exactly how many units they had and then partition the ship dates with more intelligent windows based on order time, rather than lead all million+ pre-orders to believe they would be received on the original release date.

It's not even that I can't wait to get the watch to use, it's more just irritation that a minute or two of hesitation caused days/weeks of delay.  Lame!

To be fair, I preordered 5 mins after launch and it was readily made clear that mine wouldn't arrive until mid/late May.

So despite being unconvinced that I'll wear one in situations outside of where I want the fitness tracking features (and occasional daily wear as a part of my watch rotation), I'm going to be online at 12:01am PST tomorrow night to preorder the least expensive one. I'm interested in how it works and the price point isn't too terrible. At the very least it'll be a nice fitness tracker that I don't have to wear alongside a watch (which doesn't work well).

I'll report back when I get it.

You are wrong. There is indeed banter, and it is glorious. That part of the game doesn't really pick up until Act 2 though.

Here's one example of banter that had me chuckling:
Spoiler for Hiden:
Édér: "Sagani, does your fox bite?"
Sagani: "Yes."
Édér: "Can I pet him anyway?"
Sagani: "It's your hand."
Édér: "I'm gonna pet him."

Followed up later by this bit of banter:
Spoiler for Hiden:
Sagani: "How's the hand?"
Édér: "Turning purple. Might have to cut it off."
Sagani: "I warned you not to pet him."
Édér: "If I'm not supposed to pet him why is he so soft?"

That was a highlight so far for me as well. Great lines and follow up.

I'm not convinced the Rams will be sub .500 solely due to their defensive line... that thing is monstrous and will win you a few games (you know, the ones where the oline is merely average vs truly awful).

That being said, around .500 is a good expectation for STL. Right about where the 49ers will be. Sigh.

Regarding Elite: Dangerous on Mac, as you know we have been working on putting the native Mac version of the game together and, as expected, this should enter Beta in about three months time. As the specific Beta date for this is firmed up we’ll keep you updated.

Mac Update
Work on Elite: Dangerous for Mac is progressing well and we’re still on track to enter beta by the end of March. This beta period will be longer than the short 1.1 Beta test and we’re anticipating a period of around six weeks for testing.

We still have a whole bunch of optimisation work to get through so we’re not ready to provide a minimum spec just yet, but we can confirm it will be available as a 64 bit build.

We’ll have more on the Mac release soon.

Great news. Much appreciated update.

Secret to beating the pats was shown when they played the Gints in the SB: smack brady in the mouth once and he comes to pieces.  Seattle wins this.
I like the cut of your jib, sir.

Seattle's front seven (particularly their front four) isn't as good as the Giants was though. I do agree thats the key to the game - if they can get to Brady, quickly, *without blitzing*, then Seattle has the game in hand. They don't even have to sack him, they just have to make him move his feet.

On the other side of the ball, Seattle is going to have to successfully run Marshawn against an 8 man box and Wilson will need to be extra magical because there's no way their receivers are going to get open against the Pats secondary. They struggled against the GB group and the Pats are head and shoulders better than the Packers are.

I think its going to be a good, fun, close game.

Bandwagon? Hate Seattle fans?

Don't paint with such a broad brush, guys. I've been on this bandwagon since 1984. I watched this game from home today and even I was doubting it after Russell's 4th pick. Even after winning the SB last year, 28 years or so of SOS (Same Old Seahawks) is hard to shake. The Seahawks have been an excellent team for 3 years now and every team has a bad game now and then. Even after being "exposed," I was ready to call it a season.

But wait, there's more!

Freakin' Russell Wilson and his ability to make nothing into something. Jermaine Kearse going 0/4 with 2 INTs directly off his hands, then catching the 35 yd walk-off TD. And Marshawn Lynch running for 157? I don't think we were "exposed." We played to win. GB played not to lose.

2 more weeks. Bring on Brady.

Just because you were a fan (and I believe you since you live in the area) doesn't mean most of your fanbase were fans prior to 2012.  Heck it's widely been known that prior to your recent success, you could see more visiting team jerseys than home team.  I'm sorry, but you have alot of people who are on the bandwagon.  That doesn't take anyway from you or other true fans.

I mean to be clear, Levi's Stadium is going to be just like that within the next five years.

Great. Now I just need to find a Windows 7 ISO so I can install it.

The perils of no longer having any optical drives.

Are you on OS X or Linux?  Supposedly there will be an OS X release in the next few months.

OSX. That's awesome news. If that's the case, I'll just wait.

Has anyone tried playing this with the Xbox 360 controller? I'm interested, but I really don't want a joystick sitting on my desk. Also I'd have to install Windows again.

I dunno. Out of all of the available options, Rex is the least offensive to me. He's a good coach that was stuck with a shitty team. The guy won two playoff games with Mark Sanchez as QB.

Sigh.

The 49ers/Harbaugh thing is infuriating. Harbaugh absolutely wanted to stay, he just wanted to be paid as the best coach in the NFL. York/Baalke didn't want him to stay *at any price*. Part of that is Harbaugh's fault because he is a raging asshole and didn't get along with Baalke. But maybe if you're Jed York, you sort that out when Harbaugh is the best coach you've had since George Seifert.

The 49ers are fucking retarded.

It's a lot better now than it was at launch. I'll cover ATBs post as its pretty comprehensive in its issues list.

Lag is much better. I honestly don't think I have any issues with lag at this point, which is a minor miracle given how the game launched.

I've always liked the maps, so that's a non issue for me. BLOPS2 had better maps, but after Ghosts awful maps this seems like a dream. I play objective based game modes so the spawn issues are very minor for me.

They fixed the HUD.

They've (mostly) fixed the gun balance issues and just about all types are viable now. There are definitely some stronger guns, but you can almost use whatever you want (aside from shotguns) and be effective. I have 6 classes with different weapons that I can use. Sure some (ASM-1, AK) are going to be better than others, but I can certainly run around with a 'lesser' gun and still have fun.

I've 'fixed' the kill streak issue by running ones with the Support modifier so I don't have to worry about dying and resetting.

Exos don't do much. I only use speed to get to an objective faster. Definitely a waste of time, but doesn't really detract from the game.

tl;dr version: I'm having fun with it now. It tends to be what I fire up when I do have time to game. It's *definitely* better than Ghosts and I'm drawn to it as much as I was to BLOPS2. I'm still not sure if it's worth $39.

How bout $29 Tongue  $29 is the digital version.  I'm assuming you're playing this on the ps4?

X1, actually.
