Leslie Neilsen is getting old. It would be better seeing him as Chief and having new people run missions.
That's not a bad idea, but who? Steve Carell?

Hold on, I'm a bit confused:
Is this an expansion pack for owners of the first game? If so, it is going to have to offer quite a bit of new features to be worth the price tag ($20) -- what I read in the press release didn't sound like it had hardly any new features.
Good question. I just paid $20 for this not too long ago, will I have to shell out more?

Thanks for the mass of details, Lockdown. I've been watching this one for a bit (having similar interests as you do) but haven't been brave enough to try it myself. Your write up is encouraging and has elevated the titles farther up my wish list.

Tokyo, assuming I could get something bigger than a closet to live in. Yes, otherwise that just wouldn't work for you. It would mean that, if you ever wanted to leave your house, you'd have to, you know, come out of the closet.

Considering that the website has been dead for days/weeks, I doubt it. Our local store has been closed for weeks now so I was just holding out for a brief glimmer of hope. You are a crusher of dreams!

Hey, Circuit City is now taking 30% off all PC software, including games, as part of their liquidation stuff. So I went ahead and picked this up for $35 (instead of $49.99) today. I probably won't play it for a bit but I did want to enlist at some point. I think it was the only copy at the CC I went to. Hold the phone... is that deal valid online? The only reason I haven't picked this game up yet is because I've been waiting for a sale price to justify my purchase.

I've purchased so many XBLA titles. Off the top of my head I would recommend Castle Crashers, Geometry Wars 2, Worms, Pinball FX, Bomberman, and Puzzle Quest.

This game continues to frustrate me. Many times I can't shake the feeling that the Be A Pro Mode is the only reason I play it (most people here know I prefer the 2K games). Does the patch improve the SP portion of this?
Yes the patch definitely improved the SP, especially your defence. It also elminated the cheap 1 timers that only the AI could pull off. I still feel very limited as to what I can do on defense via the game controls (and I always focus more on playing defense, and enjoying it, than scoring goals). I played a SP game last night and, noting an improvement, still feel disappointed in the game. I'm considering selling it but the Be A Pro does still hold some interest. EDIT: Can you guys tell me if I'm just missing something with the controls on defense? It only feels like I can attempt an ineffective or too effective (read: tripping penalty) poke check, lift the stick (more penalties), or cross-check like a goon. Are there any nuances to these controls or does the game take that out of my hands?

I wasn't planning on buying anything for myself this week until we hit Circuit City's going-out-of-business sale yesterday. They are nearly picked clean but I was happy to find one final copy of King's Bounty and Sword & The Stars for $7.50 each. Couldn't pass those up.

I still prefer the gameplay of 2K8 over this one but the gameplay of this is improved enough for me to manage it. The Be A Pro mode is what has me interest. I don't think I would be nearly as interested without it.

...on the Wii
After us playing Smash Bros. Brawl Saturday night (which was my first real time I've spent with it since my purchase aside from 20 mins here and there) I'm anxious to really dive into it. That will feel like a brand new purchase too! Tilted Mill's Hinterland is out for the PC this week (Steam). No exact date given, just early this week. That's THIS week? Ok then, there's something to add to my list for the week.

I really enjoyed playing through LEGO SW by myself and especially with my daughter but I haven't played it in a long time. As much as I loved Indy when I was a teen, I rented that one upon release and didn't quite get as much out of it as I expected (the 30 minute levels played a part in that). However, being such a huge fan of Batman for the past 25 years I am more than happy to purchase LEGO Batman and play through it even if only to see the Gotham content (though I'd welcome gameplay differences/advances from the previous LEGO games).
I'm happy these games are available but I can certainly see where they will be played out if each release isn't at least somewhat different from the previous.

I still prefer the RB2 song list over this one but there are enough here for me to at least rent it with the possibility of a bargain purchase later on (depending upon how well the older instruments work with it and if they've changed their note pattern philosophy from GH3).
