Seeing Kobra's name at the top of the forum gave me a bit of a jolt.
I don't know everyone here. Who is Kobra, and why hasn't he been around since 2007?

While I'm tempted, I just have read too many comments about motion sickness issues, sometimes from people who say they don't normally get that problem in FPSs. So I can only imagine how I'd react. I know I'm going to jinx myself, but I'll just go ahead and say it. I feel bad for you guys or gals who have felt motion sickness from gaming, as I've never experienced that from gaming, myself. I wonder if it has something to do with how close you sit to the monitor or anything like that. I had no problem with the original 62.5 or edited 90+ FOV.

if 62.5 doesn't bug you, you are wrong. period. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blZUao2jTGAnot to mention this is a major cause of motion sickness in games. this is pc gaming, not the console peasant gaming. i bet you're ok with the shitty mouse lag in menus too. this is why companies are allowed to get away with shit. don't fucking promote this like it's ok, it's not. If 62.5 is wrong, than I don't want to be right. No, I'm joking. I think it's a preference thing sometimes, and for this game, I'm personally having no problem with 62.5. There should be an easier way to adjust it, but you shouldn't just tell people flat out that they are wrong on something that's not factual.

you can target body parts with the digital swings too.
Yep. Just aim the reticle at the body part you want to hit, wait a sec for it to turn red, and BAM!

I hadn't even noticed, butI kinda like the claustrophobic feel it gives for this one.
I like how it makes it possible for them to get you while you loot stuff
I agree. I find myself many times stopping whatever I'm doing to scroll around to check my surroundings for safety. Even while I'm mid-fight with another zombie, I'll check my surroundings if I have time, like if I've kicked a zombie over. For what it's worth, I'm loving this game, and really haven't come across any bugs or any CTD, although I play on a LAN setting because I was experiencing the lag/stutter issue caused by the internet setting.

I have been having stuttering/lag/screen freeze issues, but I read on Steam's forum that if you put it on LAN setting, it will fix this for the time being, as the issues seem to be internet related, even if you set it to single player, since it still searches the internet.

I won't consider this game officially released until jersoc has posted how awful it is.
guess it'll never be out then. only bad games are called as such. good games i'm too busy playing. I give it 12 more hours until you decide that the color they chose for the inventory screen background ruins the game and therefore Witcher 2 sucks as few things have sucked before. The color doesn't bug me, but the throbbing effect makes it hard for me to read the text though Seriously... Throbbing effect? You sure that isn't just your dyslexia? ype i'm srue Sorry. There was only two ways I could go with a "throbbing" joke. I'd like to think I took the high road.

In other news, EA is said to be buying the Parker Bros. game "Monopoly", stating, "Since we basically are creating a monopoly in the game market, it seemed like the right thing to do".

Sigh. I need to relax and read a bit before posting, to avoid looking like a rabid fool again.
Yes, you can use the game key on Steam. Also, the conversion from the Euro makes the price closer to something like $9.95, which is better than my original post. Sorry so many posts for one point.

Really loving this game but have stopped playing now due to all the crashes to desktop once hitting Floatsm. It looks like its that Vista/Win7 3GB issue which can be fixed with a command line entry but no way I'm modifying my system files for a single game. If you're referring to the so-called 3GB switch, it should be pretty safe and might help you with other games/applications as well. I've done the same thing myself (for Visual Studio, not games) and had no problems with it. In fact, it improved performance dramatically. At the expense of sounding like an ass, I wasn't even aware there was a CTD problem with Witcher 2. I haven't had one crash in over 20 hours of play.

Can't get the Troll Trouble DLC to install. It just keeps downloading the same file over and over and over again. Seems a lot of folks are having the same problem, too. I hope they get their servers fixed soon. the witcher2 website says they are aware of the problems and are fixing them. I have full faith in these guys because of how hard they worked on the first game, continually improving it for a long time.

Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / need a new printer
|

I couldn't find a recent post with info about printer recommendations, so I started a new one.
My All-in-One HP printer basically crapped out on me, and I need a new printer. Nothing special, but a copier function is needed.
Also, what is the difference between laser printers or bubble jet or whatever? Are laser cartridges much more expensive?
Thanks for any advice.

I could've sworn they announced this was DRM free when they started taking preorders on GOG. Which is why I got it there instead of steam. Also, the free game. Couple more months.
Yeah, I bought it from GOG too, because then I know it's DRM free, and GOG is owned by CD Projekt, and I want to reward them for making a great first game and then improving on it and making "enhanced" version free to original owners. Very stand-up of them, and something you don't see anymore from companies.

I imagine you have checked your spam/junk folders?
I just finished MOH last night... wow, that is a seriously, seriously short SP game. Really pretty fun and well done, but super, super short. I would've been bummed if I'd paid $60, but it was fine for $15. Need to check the MP next, I suppose.
Yeah, I was checking all folders in case it accidentally got moved or some nonsense. I got a reply today at 1100 ET so I'm finally able to get it up and running. Don't know why this simple fix couldn't have been addressed on Monday.
