And Ritt, there's no reason to preorder this before the consoles come out, so you might as well wait until you have them assuming you are getting both you can judge which controller you prefer then.

So with the preorder/beta news, what version is the one to go for?

I'm totally clueless so I just picked Xbone since Ron said the controller was the best.

PS4 will have exclusive content and will probably run better to boot.  In regards to controllers watch this

Longtime 360 controller fan ends up preferring PS4 controller, though the XB1 controller is still solid.

I'll be on the PS4 if you miss me yelling at you from LoL  Tongue

Netflix is now offering the 3D and super HD all over now. When is the 3D content coming? The offerings are pitiful.

I haven't seen any of the items in my queue showing Super HD yet, but looking forward to the 3D content.

All I saw were very few, I think children's shows from Europe maybe? CGI. I am just hoping that my search parameters were off.

There's a bunch of of Super HD movies.  I think Avengers is Super HD.  3d is lacking, and it is all kids shows or nature films.  There's a couple of old IMAX things, and Shark Night but when I tried to watch Shark Night it seemed to be busted.  I'll have to try it again to see if it was just a weird stream or a bad encode on their side.

The PS4 smart glass equivalent is not restricted to Vita.  They have IOS and android apps.  Screen sharing is something else.

Also it's hard to see how the xb1 isn't iterative where Kinect etc are all available on the 360.

Forza 5 has headtracking, right? Have there been any early impressions of how well it works? Honestly, if they get that right it may impress me more than any sort of dedicated full body waggle kinect game would. If they can get fine head movements tracked as well as TrackIR in a variety of living room conditions, I may start becoming a Kinect 2.0 believer.

BTW, PS4 supports head tracking with the PSeye as well.  PS4 Warthunder is going to be using it.

Spring 2014, IIRC. There was an announcement - they wanted Rare to have enough time to polish it up.

Nothing wrong with that. Delayed > rushed and buggy.

While I generally agree with this, not having a game to showcase their consoles distinguishing feature seems like a misstep.

That Dr3 stuff sounds like it could be done with any microphone,  heck DS games did that stuff. The problem is MS has no showcase Kinect games at launch which seems pretty odd and a bit discouraging.

Come clean? Their system wasn't hacked. You're comparing apples to oranges.

People do this shit with Mastercard and Visa, Amazon, etc. It isn't a hack, it is using social engineering to fraudulently represent you to support, and then use your sign-in to take advantage of the "local" license that allows you to play your games while offline.

MS suggested heartbeat requirements, and the market hit the roof.

Make up your bloody mind.

They absolutely had a security breach.

Several people on this forum were hit http://gamingtrend.com/forums/console-gaming/xbox-lived-may-be-hacked/
which is one of several threads about it.   Also many reviewers were hit as well such as Tom Chick and Geoff Keighley.

It was far too common and widespread to be what they claim.

Buyers make decisions on past products, regardless if it's fair. There is enough press saying the controller is significantly different. We'll see. smile

Then that must mean people won't buy the XBO because of all the red ring issues the 360 had.  I know it's one of the many reasons I am giving the hardware until next year until I buy one.

Yes - I know people that won't buy a 360 slim for the same reason. I'm leery of Sony's network due to their snafu with my personal info and poor security.

Well Microsoft isn't exactly on great footing here either.  I know several people that had their accounts hacked during the Fifa scam nonsense that went down.  And while the Sony hacking incident was a problem, I didn't know of it directly impacting anyone as opposed to the Xbox hacks, where I had multiple friends hacked, lose money/points, and lose their online access for a month or longer while it was sorted out.

Is this what you're talking about?

It wasn't a direct MS breach of their network. It was social engineering and fraudulent calls. The same kinds of calls that can happen in any industry.

That doesn't pass muster and they've never really come clean about went down IMO.  It was way too widespread, and there were a lot of anecdotal reports of people with unique complex passwords having their accounts compromised.  There was either a flaw in their system or it was an inside job by their support team.

The PS4 would have outsold Xbox at launch regardless of the bad press. Launches are decided on cost, and a $100 difference in cost is not insignificant.

You underestimate the power of brand loyalty.

It can also be preference for the way one company does things over the other....and controller slywink.
Unless you've had hands on time with the PS4 and XB1 controller, making a decision based on those seems a bit silly.   They are both redesigned from current gen, and in the PS4 case rather significantly.

Anyway, cancelled my Xbox One preorder. Still have my PS4 preorder. I came to the realization that the two games I wanted on Xbox One, Ryse and Dead Rising 3, are getting not so hot impressions. Not interested in Forza and all the multipat games that I want: AC4, Watch Dogs, BF4.....will have exclusive things for the PS4 and look better on the PS4. It just made no sense to get the XB1 at this time.

I like the look of the gameplay changes they've made from 2.  I never played 3.  The more open levels combined with the cool shit you can do with the Owl seem to set this apart.  CoD has zero interest to me, BF4 maybe.

People clearly stated earlier in the thread that they were thankful for the use of spoilers and appreciated being able to read the thread without specific things being spoiled.  But I guess that's just too hard for you asshats.

Spoiler tags in regards to an ongoing TV show just hampers discussion.  What are we going to post if it's not essentially a spoiler, other than some vague I like/dislike the direction of the show, which is pointless without context.  It's not really analogous to a movie where people are looking to see if it's worth their time to go out and spend their money on it or not, we are talking about a show in its fifth season here.
