How does this game not have grouping? You know, people might want to play on the same team with their friends...
Also isn't this in the wrong forum?

Curious if you think the game has legs.
I think so but depends on their updates. They've been pretty good so far with adding content. Clan patch goes live Friday with a few new weapons and map layouts. In the future they are adding throwable weapons that can go into the pistol slot, improving stealth, and at some point new frames and new enemy factions, they've also said they may add new powers for existing frames as the card system they have now supports that. Also talk of prestiging which will reset you to zero but add more affinity slots to your weapons so even though you reset it, it will end up stronger when you remax it.

Anybody playing this? I'm not great at shooters, so it is taking a bit of getting used to. The style of play is a bit more run and gun than Borderlands (at least how I play). It isn't Halo or TF2, but the pace feels a bit more amped.
Kato, Hark, Jarrod, and I were running pretty regular for a bit but that's been disrupted by Defiance along with real life stuff.

Microsoft really seems to have learned nothing from the Ps2 to Ps3 transition and have gone full arrogance mode just like Sony did then. It's early but the PS4 is looking like the better option next gen. The ps4 seems to correct a lot of ps3 mistakes focusing on community and being developer friendly. The indie scene specifically seem to have nothing but good things to say about Sony and are full of pure vitriol when discussing Microsoft

So I continue to be a bit perplexed by the grouping mechanics in this game. I really don't understand how a group member can change phases while they are running right next to me. Also I find a lot of other elements of grouping a bit lacking, such as quest management, waypoints etc. It's fun to shoot bad guys with friends, I'm just not sure why the game seems to make it so difficult at times. Also the remove friend option is really rather poorly placed.

Plays more like the pre-mandate of heaven games with a grid style movement system instead of free roam. that seals the deal. OUT! I really wanted to like Grimrock but could not go back to the old grid style. Keep in mind this game is turnbased unlike grimrock.

Pretty fun, a bit of a more mobile Mass Effect multiplayer. Some of the character animations are very nice, like the knee slide. Also, this game has a ton of level up unlocks. You have your player level, but then you have your Frame level, and also each weapon has it's own level and upgrade tree, nevermind all the weapons to unlock.

Didn't realize Welsh had written a sequel. The original was interesting because it was written entirely in phonetic Scottish accents.
Porno is phonetic as well, and it's a fun read. I'm not sure how well it would work as a movie though.

Cool MsDuncan, sent you a steam friend invite so I can send it to you directly.
Anyone else want in on Dungeonland for some DM or Co-op action with Jarrodhk and I?
I'll be down for this, gift or no gift.

If you want a goofy, fun time then check out Todd and the Book of Pure Evil. It's basically Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure meets The Evil Dead. It starts off slow but develops an almost Joss Whedon like storyline by the end of the first season. I had a blast with the show. Atticus steals every scene he's in. I second this. It's a bit like John Dies at the End the TV series. Both musical episodes are also fantastic, the second being a true musical with some really great funny songs. Hoping it picks up then, because I'm fairly unimpressed after 3 episodes. So far, its a wannabe Buffy without the funny or the great dialog. It's definitely not a wannabe Buffy, it's going for something different. It's much more over the top and intentionally cheesy.

Thanks everyone. I plan to stay busy, and also travel a little bit to drop in on some GT folk. GamingTrend and the Military are two of my favorite communities in life, and I'm proud to be a part of both of them.
Semper Fi
Let me know if you get out to the Boston area, I think there are a few GT folks out this way.

Mark of the Ninja - This received universal critical acclaim but I still don't think many people have played it.
It's not so much underrated as underlooked. Easily one of the best games of the year, and the reviews generally back it up, it's just that no one payed attention...
