Considering Plus as a new Vita owner, though it'd seem to have more value if I was also a PS3/4 owner.

Is the free game only free for that one month that it's promoted as such?

Once you download it you have free access to it as long as you are a subscriber, but you must initially get it during the free month.  Even if you let your account lapse and then resubscribe you get access back to anything you've "purchased" before.  In that way it makes sense to go to the online store and also grab the PS3/4 games each month in case you ever get one.

Holy crap. I was 9.5 hours in, around 70% completion I think, and I went through a door that required 4 keys and then killed a bird and then saved my game. I realized I was pretty sure I needed that bird to proceed but it wouldn't respawn. Then I noticed it still showed 4 keys in my inventory. I quit out of the game hoping it would resolve itself, but when I logged back in the save it had was from only 4.5 hours played. I just feel dejected now and don't want to play the game.

Yeah, hearing lots of stories of game breaking bugs.  I ran into the one I mentioned earlier myself, apparently there's a very common "water glitch" as well.  I think I'm just going to shelve it until the first patch hits.  I got Helldivers and the PS+ games like Valiant Hearts to play anyway.
163  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Ori and the Blind Forest - a platformer made around the world on: March 12, 2015, 09:11:27 PM
Grabbed it on the PC and I'm already super aggravated with it.  Think I've hit a game breaking bug at the 15 minute mark, need to push/pull a block and the block just becomes unmovable halfway to where I need it to go and Ori breaks grip and wont regrab it no matter how many times I hit right trigger...

And it was early enough that I restarted just to see and my game in save slot 2 works fine and I was able to pull the block to where I needed it to go.  Load save 1 back up, still can't pull the block all the way.  Makes me worried about playing the game further.

So one Helldivers squadmate yesterday had the jumpjet powerpack. Helluva fun to watch, not sure how useful it is other than maybe emergency getaways.  icon_smile

It's great for the getaway and lets you jump over small obstacles.   It also proves very handy in the snow maps or swamps as a way of just generally getting around when your movement speed is otherwise impacted by the environment.

Yes, you get all 3 versions digitally when you buy it, and they intended cross play in multi IIRC.  Simultaneously, even.

Have you had better luck since the other night?
That's the only trouble I've had joining a particular person (sometimes have trouble joining randoms, I think the browser shows ghost matches sometimes)..  There was a patch that night, maybe some lingering wierdness.
We need a few more troopers.  I can only kill forge in so many different ways; a full squad would really give me a lot more flexibility.

Shooting the rocket at our feet after I quick loaded it for you was a nice new twist though...

This easily the best co-op game I've played in a long time.

Is there voice-comm in the game, or "quick communication icons" or something? I won't ask about text chat, this not being a PC game  icon_razz

It supports voice chat and also a simple affirmative, negative, move, wait call outs being tied to the d-pad.

I really like this.  Had some good games with Rogue and RuperT.  There's some definite benefits to having a diverse makeup of weapons with your squad.   The SMG gets a mild stun effect that comes in super handy for slowing the swarms and it's also a one handed weapon so you can still use it while carrying a blackbox.

I believe it is always online due to the meta game, though I may be mistaken.   You can play it solo, though to get the most out of it you will want to play co-op.  Local and online are both supported for co-op.

Watching the stream and this continues to impress.  This has the potential to be quite special I think.

Some of the more powerful weapons like the rocket launcher require one of the other players to grab a support kit and to reload it for you, same with a heavy machine gun.

If you haven't done so already, please be sure to check out Danger 5.  It's an Australian spoof on 70's spy shows, and is simultaneously one of the most ridiculous and hilarious things I've ever seen.  I don't even know how to describe it, other than batshit insane.

This should sum it up nicely:  the last episode I watched (titled "Lizard Soldiers of the Third Reich") featured a Nazi pterodactyl using a broken beer bottle during a fist fight, a trip through the deep dark jungles of Antarctica, a dynamite-obsessed money in a Hawaiian shirt, and Hitler overseeing gladiator combat between a Minotaur and a binge-drinking Russian spy (which took place inside a volcano).

Seriously, just go watch it.

It's the same people that did Italian Spiderman, if you haven't seen that track it down.  It's the source of this infamous GIF

I think there is an element of divisiveness for sure, but the more reviews I read, the more 'rotten in Denmark' this gets.  People go on (and on) about how fantastic parts of the game are, then with little info to the contrary hand it a low score.  This feels a little more witch hunt than usual.

Like with Knack, and to a lesser degree Driveclub (which had very real launch problems) there does seem to be a tendency for reviewers to be out for blood when dealing with the
Sony exclusives.   Bloodborne next month will be interesting.

I am really loving the game right now (thanks gift cards!), and I will say that I particularly despise this game's autosave function. Does it save when I sleep in a safehouse? Not always! Does it save when I go to the tower or Rais' place? Not always! God forbid I try to play the game in the time before I have to go somewhere, because I am scouring the map for a safe place, and hoping that it will save the game. Quicksave, motherfuckers, learn to use it!

I'm pretty sure it saves character status whenever you quit to main menu.

I'd still love to play with others. Just the whole Bnet in general doesn't seem to be doing MP anymore. I tried matchmaking repeatedly and never get connected to anything. Throw up an open one, no one joins. I remain unconvinced that D3's switch away from the first couple games of simply throwing up a game with a simple name on it (still the way that Grim Dawn, Torchlight II et al handle it as well) is an improvement from a socializing aspect. I don't know if that's any different with Adventure Mode games or the L70 play.

I think the issue is your low level.  Outside of Seasons or Hardcore I think most people have hit 70 with many levels of Paragon at this point.  I have every class at 70 and 340somethign Paragon.

Tyson and Nye commenting with slipshod science is one of  the most disappointing things about the whole affair.  I'd expect our public science figures to address it thoroughly or not at all.

How much is there to do from the science side of it? Seems to be a simple formula (that I couldn't do) dealing with air temperatures and pressure. What more are they supposed to do/say?

Tyson did that calculation assuming absolute pressure (as the equation calls for) and not gauge pressure.  There was a 15% drop (alleged, now it's alleged less) in gauge pressure, he did that calculation assuming a 15% drop in absolute pressure.  15% in the gauge pressures listed would equate to a 7% difference in absolute pressure.  That also assumes that temperature was the only factor where the football being wet may have slightly altered the volume as well.  So like I said, slipshod.

USA Today says they didn't. (As well as just about every other article I have read.)

Then the Colts were cheating and heating the balls on the sideline.

Serious answer, that's just more bad reporting.  Half these stories have had misinformation, such as it was Jackson who noticed the difference in the ball, or how many can't tell the difference between pressure and weight.

It makes me mad.

It makes me mad that Brad Johnson did it. He was - I thought- a stand up guy and I used to cheer for him when I was in DC and he played for the Skins.  Now I think he's a piece of garbage.

I frigging hate cheaters.

Well frankly this looks like a witch-hunt.  Weather alone would account for about a 2lb drop in PSI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxsXFX3tDpg

Why wouldn't weather affect the Colt's balls the same way?

Who says it didn't?  Were they checked and what was the drop in them, because unless they were inflated wet and at 50 they would have a PSI drop.  It's possible that they were prepared under different conditions and we don't know what they started at, they could have started at 13.5 and suffered only a 1lb drop and still been regulation.

To act like weather doesn't have an effect on PSI is to deny science.
