New Episode VII Trailer Debuting With Obscure Indie Flick Age Of Ultron

Quote
In news that is rocking the movie entertainment industry to its very core, it has been announced that the new trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens will be attached a little-known film titled Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, set to debut on a mere 5-3,000+ screens on May 1st.

Age of Ultron, as its name suggests, is a period piece about an upper-class couple named the Ultrons, who live in late 19th century New York City. But when Mrs. Ultron's rakish brother, Anthony Stark, comes to visit, their high society lives are thrown into disarray. Or something like that.

I believe they meant "In news that shocks no one except those who just called out a bunker...."

If the commute was a train ride I could do it. But driving that far every day is a lot.

But the catch is that it won't be every day. I'll find out this week how often it would be.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

If it is driving, even if it isn't every day, you are putting yourself at a lot of extra risk from accidents, wear and tear on you car, etc.

Doesn't mean it isn't worth it but it would sure be better if you could ride commuter rail or something.

Jeremy Clarkson’s contract will not be renewed after the Top Gear presenter was involved in a 30-second physical assault on a producer, the BBC’s internal inquiry will report on Wednesday.

A BBC investigation led by BBC Scotland boss Ken MacQuarrie is thought to have found that Clarkson engaged Oisin Tymon in a 30-second physical assault after a 20-minute verbal tirade.

But a source close to the inquiry said: “There can’t be one rule for talent and one rule for ordinary human beings.”

FINALLY!  How long have we suffered with games that don't really reflect hair growth?  It is time for the pain to end!

The Witcher 3 will have dynamic beard growth over time

Quote

The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red have included one slightly bizarre new feature to the upcoming game: Geralt's beard will grow over time.

In a statement made to Eurogamer, the studio's communications chief Michael Platkow-Gilewski confirmed the protagonist's facial hair has a variety of beard "states" that will triggered over time. Players can alternatively choose an unchanging style of facial hair by downloading the free Beard and Hairstyle DLC coming to the game.

"The beard grows as time passes and when Geralt moves between locations. The beard has several "states" and these states determine its length - the longest is really long but it's not Gandalf-long," Platkow-Gilewski explains.

"When you download the free Beard and Hairstyle DLC the growth of the beard will stop because we decided that when players want a predefined look, it would be weird to require from them to reapply it time after time."

The Witcher 3 launches on May 19 for Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The funny thing is, even though I have beaten so many games, my backlog has probably grown due to bundles. the money other people spend on coffee or cigarettes I spend on games. $3-$6 a week and you've added somewhere from 5-15 games to your backlog each week. Oh well.

I just want to point out you actually had 6 tricks and the title says one.  smile

However I have thought about it and I will be selling my kids so I can finish more games.

Digital version of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D doesn't fit on the New 3DS's standard SD card

Quote
Nintendo has revealed that the digital version of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D will not fit on the standard microSD card that comes with the New Nintendo 3DS and New 3DS XL.

This information is noted at the bottom of the game's listing on the Nintendo.co.uk website. It reads:

"The download version of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D does not fit on the microSD card included with New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL systems: an 8GB or larger microSD card is required to download this game from Nintendo eShop."

So, yes, if you plan on purchasing Xenoblade Chronicles 3D through the 3DS eShop for your New Nintendo 3DS, you'll also need to buy an 8GB microSD, or higher.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is also the only game that requires a New 3DS or New 3DS XL to play. So it's turning out to be quite an expensive game to play.

It'll be out on April 2nd in Europe and Japan. The US gets it on April 10th.
141  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Doctor Who: the original series on: March 20, 2015, 01:38:37 PM
I love the original series.  They were great.  While the slower approach is somewhat jarring but there was so much more time for character development.  If there is one thing I really dislike about the new series it is that no one really has time to grow or become a "real" person.  They are just throw away characters gone by the end of an hour.  Certainly there are a few who stick around but basically 90% of the cast is new all the time.  I never really care about them.

Anyway I love the classic series for what it is and I like the new one too but I would still rather watch Tom Baker than Matt Smith.

That's a shame. That's a really brilliant piece of artwork.

As a society I think we're really in danger of watering down everything into a mush of mediocrity in an attempt not to offend anyone's "delicate sensibilities."

I am so old....but considering what was acceptable when I was a boy compared to what is commonplace now I don't think we are in any danger of watering down everything.   There is so, so, so much more offensive stuff today than would have been allowed years ago that I don't see any danger of that.

Nintendo's 3DS beats out PS4 and Xbox One for February hardware sales

Quote

Nintendo's 3DS platform outsold Xbox One and PlayStation 4 throughout February in the U.S., the company's American arm announced in a press release following data provided by The NPD Group.

The 3DS family, which emcompasses the Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL and the New 3DS XL, sold 395,000 units across the U.S. last month. According to Nintendo, "The great majority of these sales were New Nintendo 3DS XL systems, which sold 130 percent more units in its initial frame than Nintendo 3DS XL did when it launched."

During the first two months of this year, sales of 3DS hardware have increased more than 90 percent compared to this same period last year. The recently released The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was the top-selling game of February as well, while Nintendo's Wii U sales have increased by more than 20 percent over sales during the same period in 2014.

Sony's PlayStation 4 is February's highest-selling home console in the U.S., it was also announced. According to Sony, this refers specifically to home console sales and not overall hardware, adding that the PS4 remains the "cumulative leader in hardware sales with more than 20.2 million units sold" worldwide.

Microsoft notes a similarly positive February for its Xbox One, stating it's experienced "record February sales in the U.S." with 84 percent more consoles sold compared to January 2015.

"All three categories of hardware, new physical software, and accessories experienced sales increases in February 2015 with combined sales of $956 million, up 8 percent over last February," said The NPD Group's Liam Callahan.

And the new 3DS didn't even come out until Feb 13 so only half a month.
