If you have any food allergies you might get a reaction.  My mom is allergic to seafood and since they usually are cooking shrimp alongside everything else she gets a reaction.   She usually has to ask them to prepare her stuff first before the seafood goes down on the grill.

44  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360/PS3/PC]Resident Evil 6 on: October 09, 2012, 08:56:36 PM
I was a big fan of 5, and really all of them up until this point.  I really want to play 6 but unfortunately it released so close to GW2, Torchlight 2, Borderlands 2 and XCOM, I just don't have time for it at the moment.  I barely have time for all of those !!

I'll probably play through it , but will be waiting until I have more time.

Awesome thanks!  Downloading smile
47  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Firefall Invite Thread on: September 04, 2012, 11:18:10 PM
Wouldn't mind an invite if you have any available still.  I was close to biting on the founders packages over the weekend, but I'd really rather like to try it out before giving them my money.

A lot of fun.  Not a lot of chuck norris is right, but damn I thought he stole the movie while he was there smile
49  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [PC/PS3] Final Fantasy XIV Online - A Realm Reborn this Winter on: July 28, 2012, 01:08:25 AM
Being a long time fan of both MMO's and Final Fantasy I'm curious to see how this turns out.  But that trailer is pretty awful.  CGI battles and a horrid voiceover.  Show me the game square slywink

Yeah, I'm sure some think I'm a heathen but I enjoyed Bad Company 2 much more than I have Battlefield 3.

I played with a group of friends on Bad Company 2 for the better part of a year.  We were all super excited for BF3.  Most quit playing it after a month, went back to BC2.

53  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Falling Skies Season 2 on: June 27, 2012, 02:13:27 AM
For some reason I didn't get into this show last season, but gave it another shot this year.  After watching the season 2 premier the wife and I watched all of season 1.  Really clicking with me now and I dig the show.

The wife and I noticed :  This show reminds us of  Battlestar Galactica.  A small group of surviving humans in a convoy lead by the military to fight back and find a home.   Of course the similarities pretty much end there slywink

55  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [movie] Prometheus (previously Alien the Prequel) on: June 12, 2012, 05:26:33 AM
I think one of the problems I'm having with this flick is that nothing is presented in the film that actually seems to answer a lot of the questions about motivations of characters and such.  I'm all for a little ambiguity in a flick and drawing my own conclusions, but there just didn't seem to be very clear indicators in the movie that would lead me to the conclusions the writers obviously had for the flick.  Reading the interviews after the fact is interesting and sheds a nice light on the story, but I shouldn't have to do that to understand the movie.

I really want to see it again now , though, to see if maybe this stuff was a little more clearly laid out and I just missed it.
56  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [movie] Prometheus (previously Alien the Prequel) on: June 10, 2012, 08:41:14 PM
I felt the same blackjack.  The first half of the movie was interesting thought provoking sci-fi.  When it turned to the monster movie type stuff in the second half it got dumb.  I never felt that Alien was a dumb movie.  It also seemed to drop all the interesting things they were setting up in the first half.

The set pieces were awesome to look at though slywink

I'm curious, how much did you get for it?  If you don't mind sharing that info that is.   I'm thinking about doing the same, but also waiting to see what happens at E3.  My son sold his DS and used b-day money to help get a vita, but now he's kinda wishing he had a DS back, since that's what all his friends still have.

Awesome vids!!!  I'm curious, what was your take on the strategies involved in doing the dungeons?  Since they don't have the traditional heal / tank roles, what's the strategy for bringing bosses down?
61  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Guild Wars 2 on: April 28, 2012, 04:36:24 PM
Agree with Ericb's points.  I really dig this game so far.  I'm not sure it's the big "game changing" mmo they are hyping, but I haven't seen a lot of the game yet.

Speaking of grouping that's the only main complaint I have.  Tried to group with a buddy of mine, it kept putting us in different overflow instances so we never were able to hook up.  It's beta tho, so hopefully that'll be fixed on release.

65  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Graces F confirmed for US release on: April 15, 2012, 04:15:22 PM
I can't comment on the co-op, but if it is like tales of Veseperia you can probably have friends control characters in the fight scenes.  I'm 10 hours in and considering trading it / selling it though.  It's fairly bland and generic so far.  Nothing about it is compelling me to want to come back and play it.

DOH , sorry forgot, 360.  Editing the title to reflect that.  It's also the copy from Best buy that comes with a little collector book that tells the story of 13 and bridges the gap between games.
67  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Final Fantasy 13-2 (360) plus strategy guide on: March 27, 2012, 05:57:05 PM
Anyone interested in Final Fantasy 13-2 and the guide?

Perhaps for $40 for both.
Would also be interested in trading for the new SSX.

Not sure if msduncan saw a more recent news tidbit about bioshock infinite (I'm guessing he has), but at E3 Ken Levine came out onstage and talked about it.  I seem to recall he was very hyped about the vita and was talking about doing something bioshock infinite on it.
70  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic announced on: February 28, 2012, 03:27:43 PM
Hard to think they are in that much trouble yet.  As of February 1st they had 1.7 million active subscribers.  Everytime I try one of these games out guilds usually fall apart after the first month or so, so they fact that mine and others I see still have about the same number of people logging in 2 months into this is a decent sign.  I imagine there is and will be drop off in numbers, but I think it's a bit early to say they are in trouble.

71  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: PS Vita, Impressions! on: February 27, 2012, 10:50:29 PM
I did pick one up over the weekend.  Loving it so far.  I picked up Uncharted and my son picked out Mod Nation racers.  Both are really good.
72  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: PS Vita, Impressions! on: February 25, 2012, 02:37:23 PM
Dammit I swore I wasn't gonna get one of these things.  But after playing it at best buy, and reading all the awesome comments here I'm probably going to cave today slywink

It helps that I just got a nice fat raise at work and a decent tax return too.
73  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Fringe Premiere on: February 23, 2012, 06:52:41 PM
I absolutely loved fringe, but something about this season has kinda turned me off on it.  I've got the last 4 episodes sitting on DVR and really can't seem to find the interest in catching up.  While I'm intrigued by what they did with the Peter storyline this season, I think I'm missing the dynamic of the "original" team.
74  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wii U on: February 19, 2012, 03:36:59 AM
It's interesting to read that they are getting quite a bit of developer support.  That's good news for them.  Didn't seem like they had too many great 3rd party titles for the Wii.  Getting some of the big franchises should help a lot.  I'm pretty curious to see what the system capable of when it hits.

So is recruiting monsters basically just random chance?  I read on an FAQ that it's pretty much mandatory to recruit a Pulsework Knight early in the game so you can create some of the SEN-based paradigms.  I've now fought about a dozen of them - most of those battles with 5-star ratings - but have yet to recruit one.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

It's not totally necessary, but if you can get the pulsework knight and then max out his level (20).  It makes most of the early encounters super easy.  He'll attract the attention of the mobs and soak all the damage.
76  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic announced on: February 17, 2012, 11:29:14 PM
One of the things it is, a fantastic story.  Bioware has proven, at least to me, that you can weave a really good story into an MMO.  I've really enjoyed that aspect of it.   Also , much like their other games, I felt as though I could really develop how my character interacts with this world.  For that to happen in an MMO setting is fantastic as well.  I think Bioware set some nice bars as far as interweaving story and character development into an MMO world.
77  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic announced on: February 16, 2012, 06:19:35 PM
One other thing that sort of struck me as I was thinking about the game earlier.  In WoW, I felt like I was in a world at war.  Zones seem designed to have the players criss-cross a bit, so I was always seeing horde camps / players as I was running about.

I never felt that or saw that in Star Wars.  I know there was another side, but as a republic player I never saw them.  Never noticed their camps.  Although maybe that started happening at later levels?  I guess it left me feeling like I know we are at war with the empire because I'm being told we are, but never felt like the world itself necessarily reflected that.

I will say though, I loved the stories Bioware was telling. Playing with my wife I got to see both the Knight(which I played) and the consular(which she played) and both stories we're well done.  Also enjoyed a lot of the side areas.  Thinking after we take a break for a while we'll probably come back and finish the stories out at least.
78  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic announced on: February 14, 2012, 07:31:22 PM
Wife and I cancelled today as well.  Hit our mid-30's and for some reason the drive to keep playing stopped.  I enjoyed it up to about 30 though.  Once the planets got bigger, it seems like they became more stale.  Can't quite put my finger on why.  We might return in a few months time when the burnout goes away and we have more playtime again.

Got a new background image in there and the site is much easier to read now.  Fixed the bios (not bio's) page, thanks for the catch on that.  We update on Fridays so if you want to keep reading check us out we'll be posting new pages then.   We'd love to go faster but we all work full time have families etc...

Thanks for the kind words all.  We knew about the text and are working today on a new background to clean that up a bit.  Great point about the bios I will probably edit those up.
