1561  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Raptorman, US on: October 19, 2004, 12:46:14 PM
Evidently he was been in some sort of training and did not have access or time to keep the updates coming (he's military).  One of his forums posts said he's back now and it should be updated more regularly now.
1562  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Looking to buy some older XBOX titles on: October 19, 2004, 12:22:56 AM
YGM.  Actually you have a private message (PM) since you didn't enable your email.  Let me know either way...don't leave me hanging here.
1563  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Sacred PLUS: October 29th on: October 18, 2004, 11:58:35 PM
I think they can claim it was the most successful game of the year (of it's type) because it was the only game of it's type this year.  I can't think of another that was like it (same type as Diablo, Dungeon Seige, etc).
1564  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Do you want to have your GoneGold feedback verified here? on: October 18, 2004, 01:06:42 PM
Mine should be fine as well...same user name and same email address.  Thanks.
1565  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Once in deathtime opportunity! Act now! on: October 17, 2004, 02:18:52 AM
It's already at $30,000+ with 4 days left.
1566  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Further Developments in the TSS scandal : ) on: October 17, 2004, 02:15:16 AM
He didn't just die...he was in email dialog for weeks after the last trade happened.  The excuses never stopped...he was leaving the company, traveling all over the country and overseas looking for a job, etc, etc, etc.  He is nothing more than a common thief who ripped off at least 10 people on this board, more through the TSS site and many many more through ebay.  I don't want my 10 games back...I want 10 minutes in private to beat the hell out of him for being an base lying cowardly ass and betraying everything gonegold stood for.  BTW, the site is still up but nothing has been updated since early this year and no emails/phone numbers are answered.  Damn I hope he's in jail right now...that's about the only excuse I would accept.
1567  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / So, anyone ever had a sleep study? on: October 15, 2004, 02:38:40 PM
I had one too.  One thing to tell you in advance - bring pajamas.  I did not get the letter they sent where they tell you what to bring so I showed up ready for the study to sleep in my boxers only...except they have to hook up and anyone else there up first with the electrodes and it's not private.  Also eat a good dinner, go to the bathroom and smoke your last one (if you smoke) before going up...you won't be coming back out before it's over.

They also found I had sleep apnea and it was bad enough that I bypassed the cpap machine and went straight to surgery (very rare with a HMO).  The surgery is a whole other thread though and the worst week after of my life but almost every day has been better since.

If you do have it and get it fixed you will not believe the absolute difference after it's fixed.  I went from being groggy, tired, falling asleep driving after 9 hours of sleep to fully awake, functional and alert on 7 hours.  I breathe better, sleep better and think clearer.
1568  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / New Stephen Donaldson: Anyone reading? on: October 15, 2004, 12:32:35 AM
Crap forgot all about it.  I'm planning on getting it but I'm not reading it right away.  I don't think I can handle reading what is book 1 of 4 and then having to wait months for the next and so on.  I trying to wait for all three but I'll be lucky to wait for the 2nd before I break down.
1569  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / The Dark Tower (may contain spoilers) on: October 14, 2004, 03:37:02 AM
I agree it was defintely one of the best of the series...and after reading the end I also realize it couldn't end any other way.  But damnit.  I think I actually shed a tear when Jake died.
1570  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Blade Runner Revisited [spoilers!] on: October 14, 2004, 03:34:21 AM
Sorry to burst anyone's bubble but in the last interview I remember reading (a few years ago) Scott specifically said that yes he was a replicant.  Sorry I can't find the interview now but I remember a fairly long thread about it on gonegold (now long gone).
1571  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / I have coined a new phrase... on: October 13, 2004, 08:50:42 PM
By default this is the standard mood of all women.  Assume the worst and hope for the best is my motto around any of them.
1572  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / My company being sold, hmm . . . . on: October 13, 2004, 07:02:27 PM
What...you're in IT and you got a raise?  Now we know you're lying
1573  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / 100 posts since Fri night? I'm a post-whore! on: October 13, 2004, 07:00:28 PM
I think we should get a new title when we reach 100...maybe post whore?
1574  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / The GT Pay It Foward Freebies Thread *closing end of 2005* on: October 13, 2004, 04:53:02 PM
Hey Gratch...I'd love Disciples II. I can put up a few myself:

Commandos 1 (PC)
Silent Hill 3 (PC, Missing Disc 1 but has box, manual, other 4 CDs)
Unreal (PC)

Karma +1 (not counting Silent Hill since it's not complete)

EDIT: I'm offering Silent Hill just in case someone wants it...maybe to replace one of their lost discs or to get the box and manual and inserts when all they have are the discs.  It will not install and does not include disc 1 which is why I'm not counting it towards karma.
1575  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Third Presidential Debate on: October 13, 2004, 03:39:31 PM
I keep hoping Bush is going to slip up and say something he didn't mean to say out loud and kill his chance of winning but oh well.  Maybe he will trip and whatever the bulge in his back was last debate will fall out.
1576  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Torment question on: October 13, 2004, 03:30:51 PM
Talk to Mebbeth in her hut in Ragpicker's Square.  It is located in the north part of Sigil near the mortuary.  She has you run errands back and forth to the market.  After becoming a mage you can switch back and forth using Dak'kon.  Make sure to talk to Dak'kon about the circles to get a ton of experience and new spells (I leveled from 1 to 5 by talking to him and opening the circles) if your wisdom is high enough.
1577  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Will CG need more forum admins?215 members to 744 in 7 days! on: October 13, 2004, 02:49:43 PM
I'll volunteer any time I have available if anyone is interested.  And this is my mighty post 100 since joining back in May (hey, I spent most of my time at gonegold smile)
1578  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / What are you playing now (the october edition) on: October 13, 2004, 02:39:34 PM

1580  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / [Discussion only] So, are we going to do a PIFF thread? on: October 13, 2004, 02:35:10 PM
EDIT - moved to official thread (which I though this was).  As for the Silent Hill...I'm only offering it in case someone wants to replace one of their other discs (missing, broken, etc) or only have the discs and want the box and manual.  I'm not counting it towards the karma.
1581  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Pirates Limited Edition - Extra Content? (PC Version) on: October 13, 2004, 02:29:34 PM
I never have played the original Pirates (that I remember)...don't know what's wrong with me.  I can't find a copy now but I have more than enough to play anyway and I'll have to take a look at the new one coming out.
1582  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Is Sacred fixed after the 1.7 patch? on: October 13, 2004, 02:26:48 PM
I haven't had any problems with the final 1.7 patch (unlike the beta 1.7 which crashed and burned my install) and right now I'm just waiting on the free expansion.  Unlike Diablo though I don't know if I like it enough to get the expansion (retail) when it comes out.  Maybe after it drops in price.
1583  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Call her Britney Federline on: October 13, 2004, 02:23:07 PM
I had heard she was already in talk with Hugh for a future issue.  I personally could care less...she's a skank, evidently stupid as hell and the sooner she fades into oblivion the better (and please take Paris "cooze" Hilton with you when you go).

As for the prison movies...I thought the has beens did those after they were too old and fugly to do real porn...not before.
1584  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Image Hosting Site Problems on: October 13, 2004, 02:19:00 PM
How do you connect to these sites?  Are they normal HTTP or HTTPS sites or maybe FTP?  Do you have a hardware firewall or software firewall like ICF or zonealarm installed and running?  If you have a software firewall have you tried to send the pics with the firewall closed?  How big are the pics...are they small optimized pictures for the web or 2-4MB monsters straight from the flash card of your camera?
1585  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone on: October 13, 2004, 12:55:31 PM
I'd like to get it too but I'm also waiting on the XBox version.  The only games I get for the PS2 anymore are the exclusives (certain RPGs) and the semi-exclusives like GTA.  I'm glad it good decent scores but I swear every game of this type is just a little shorter than the last.
1586  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / GameBoy Advance recommendations for my son on: October 13, 2004, 12:35:11 PM
You can get a lot of the sports games really cheap...the football, mx biking, surfing, snowboarding, espn x games, etc and they are all non reading, clean and fun games.  My son loves all of them...also all of the Super Mario games and Pokemon games (Pokemon has a lot of basic reading...probably aimed at the 8-12 year old range).

There are also the classic NES games coming out...like Donkey Kong and other niche titles like Pokemon Pinball and Mario Pinball.  And maybe the Sonic games in addition to Spyro.
1587  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / The Trader Feedback List (old) on: October 13, 2004, 12:27:36 PM
+1 to LanceM.  Thanks for Fable...it's great so far.
1588  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / The Trader Feedback List (old) on: October 13, 2004, 12:27:08 PM
Quote from: "Zarkon"
My opinion would be this:  The people who're Gold Traders and Fools Gold should go over at the minimum required for that (+10 and -3).  Anyone else should come over with theirs intact.  Unless people would rather the entire thing come over intact.  I don't want to seem like invading forces, after all.

That would basically suck.  A lot of us spent years of building up trust and getting our feedback into the 30-100+ range and we shouldn't lose that.  I'm willing to start over here but I would like it noted that I did have 34+ or whatever on gonegold before starting at 0 again at consolegold.  Maybe a feedback rating like +3 (34 GG).
1589  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Paypal takes a dump!! on: October 13, 2004, 12:22:25 PM
Did they ever post any explainations as to what happened?
1590  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Need some DMV and California law related advice. on: October 13, 2004, 12:21:07 PM
Get a lawyer and do it quick.  Fines and penalties from the DMV add up very quickly, never go away and can prevent her from getting another car, her license or insurance.
1591  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / I Hate Consoles! on: October 13, 2004, 12:19:20 PM
I hate consoles too but I still have all three of the them plus every major one back to the 2600.  They are expensive, the games are short and expensive, the accessories are outrageous and they are all damn fun to play especially when you don't have hours to devote to my favorite...the computer RPG.
1592  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / I Like Vodka, Yes I do! on: October 13, 2004, 12:17:33 PM
I love the flavored vodkas...ones like Citron, etc.  Mixes up a good collins and damn so good.  Side note - never drink vodka and blue kool-aid (smurf piss to those that know) after eating hershey kisses.  Not a good combination in either direction.
1593  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Best commercial! on: October 13, 2004, 12:15:03 PM
Another WTF one for the creepy scary Burger King commercial.  What the hell were they thinking...if I ever woke up with a man wearing a mask in my bed the last thing I'd be thinking about is food.

Of course since I've given up most fast food I've noticed every other commercial 24/7 is a food advertisement.
1594  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Tivo Mania! on: October 13, 2004, 12:11:47 PM
I turned the auto record stuff off about 2 weeks after getting it.  It was recording 1 show I wanted and 9 others I didn't just about every day.  So I just set up 15 or so season passes, another 15 or so on my other Tivo upstairs and now don't worry about it.

There is a new feature...HMO or the Home Media Option.  It's supposed to let you share the TiVo recordings from multiple units (if you have 2-3 in your house) over the network so you can watch any recorded show from any of them.

Now if I could get a TiVo with a built in DVDR that wasn't the price of a small car it would be perfect.
1595  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / So where did you go for your Honeymoon? on: October 13, 2004, 12:06:35 PM
We went to Sandals in Nassau and loved it.  Sandals is great but it is damn expensive...I couldn't have gone if I didn't work for a travel agency (back when we still got those type of deals and cheap airfare).  The good thing about it is you are so active with everything included you don't put on weight from the 2000 calories a day in mixed drinks you have smile  Loved it but couldn't afford to go back now.
1596  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Non-gamers don't get gamers. on: October 12, 2004, 02:04:41 PM
I'm fairly lucky in that my wife plays a small section of games.  She hates RPG games (my favorites) and adventure/story games but loves and plays games like Might and Magic, Diablo, Sacred, Age of Empires and a lot of various console games.
1597  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Anyone have URL for Bill's blog? on: October 12, 2004, 01:32:24 PM
Thank you...I was looking for this too.  I need to watch out or I will have more blogs saved than normal web pages (and it's getting close already).
1598  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Paypal takes a dump!! on: October 12, 2004, 01:29:54 PM
I can get to the front page but it's timing out when I try to log in.  Good thing I don't need access to it in the next few days.
1599  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / DSL Recommendations that aren't Roadrunner on: October 11, 2004, 08:59:47 PM
Try a site like http://dslbroker.com/ and see if any hits come up.  The biggest problem may be the price...if you don't have any big names in the area then it's probably not going to be cheaper than RR.
1600  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / DSL Recommendations that aren't Roadrunner on: October 11, 2004, 07:11:07 PM
Where do you live?  Do you have the option for any of the following (for DSL): Alltel, Bell South, CTCommunications or NW Telecom?
