1  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / TimeSplitters Future Perfect . Where are the cheats? on: May 27, 2005, 02:29:21 AM
Unfortunately, I haven't found any.  And before you make the mistake of purchasing it, the game guide by Prima sucks big time, IMO.

3  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / [WoW AAR] They said it couldn't be done... on: December 10, 2004, 12:34:45 AM
Great post!
My 24th lv rogue and my buddies 24th lvl Paladin ventured thereabouts for his goofy 'epic' weapon quest. I had no idea the mines were that extensive!
Without ruining anything, we made it past the goblins, all the way to a locked door, with a huge 'doorstop' on it.  The cool thing was that I was able to actually pick my 1st door and get us through!
anyway we made it all the way to a pier and OMG!  Afer talking about our chances of surviving ANY type of encounter, we used our hearth stones and got out of there!
I wonder if I will find out what was there...

5  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / WoW.. Best 2 player combo? on: December 04, 2004, 10:36:40 AM
Initially a buddy and I were going the rogue/rogue combo, but then he switched to a paladin/rogue duo.  We have been crushing everything.  The only times we pause is if we are outnumbered 2 to 1 or vs. the elite mobs.
He has good heals, cant tank and taunt.  I can do multiple dots and have a high damage output.  It works!
6  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Video card Question on: November 23, 2004, 01:51:30 AM
Isthere anywhere i can look that has good, informative reviews and/or comparisons of graphic cards? Being on a budget, i would like to know what cards are affordable but 'decent'.  I can spend about 250 bucks.
Or can you guys give me any hints?

thanks
7  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / CG WoW Guild Roll Call on: November 18, 2004, 08:12:44 PM
Count me IN.
Human Rogue!
 Cool
8  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / CG WoW Update-and FINAL POLL on: November 18, 2004, 12:17:48 PM
I really have no preferance to either type of server.  Having played on both types with EQ1 and trying to RP in SWG it can be a painful experience or loads of fun.
And for the record, I am heavily leaning towards a human rogue or 'rouge' as some would put it!  Even considering myself a casual player, I got my rogue to lvl 19, was a Herbalist/Alchemist/Fisher, and loved every minute of it!
 Cool
9  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Can MS topple Sony in the next generation? on: November 16, 2004, 02:33:35 PM
Exclusive titles is the key.  Good exclusive titles, that is.
Even MORE co-op games!  Many people dont agree, but pcs are traditionally solitary machines, while consoles are not.  The more people that can jump in and enjoy, the better!
We need more american/european game developers.  There is still a stigma about video/pc games, comic books, etc. as being 'childish'.  When you mention console games, americans still probably think of pac man.  I think this is slowly changing, but until its obvious that video game developement can be profitable, there will still be a kind of stigma related to it here in america.
Make the xbox2 smaller!  It is the 'boss hog' of the console world!  True, it may actually be more like a cadillac escalade, but the thing is HUGE.
I think the console hard drive was an innovative but also obvious next step that needed to be made.  The 'next-box' doesnt need quite such a large hard drive, but even if it is, say, 40 gig, it really doesnt have to take up THAT much room.
The color scheme isnt so bad.  You can never go wrong with black.  But maybe the green should be back-lit on the unit or something.  Maybe give it a 'custom' look, kinda like how many pc tower cases are being 'tricked out'.  Maybe like a halo edition, or gotham racing edition.
whew!
10  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / The new beta testers' WoW impressions thread! on: November 11, 2004, 06:17:36 PM
I had a friend just join the beta and was running about with him last night.  He's a long time eq player and I call him the 'grind master'!
Typical to fashion, he does NOT see the logic of doing quests when he can just find a spot and grind away.
I am more of the 'Lets run around and see whats over the next hill!' type of player, so we had an interestig go of things.  Personally I like the quest system.  And if someone likes to grind, why not get added xp's for it AND a cool item AND in some cases a little cash AND faction?
It only makes sense!

13  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / WoW - FREE Open Beta date announced on: November 09, 2004, 05:29:35 AM
I hear more open beta keys are on the way from 'gizzard', but no luck yet.  This is really crazy!  I have just about had it, and the sad thing is even with a FP account, getting into the beta was almost impossible!

15  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / WoW - FREE Open Beta date announced on: November 05, 2004, 11:36:25 PM
I must totally agree with you, Rage.  I have played just about every online fantasy game there is, and have always been a 'casual palyer'.  One of the things that I always used to argue about with a buddy of mine, was the reasoning behind the 'raids' in eq1.  I simply can't imagine an online gaming event lasting 12 hours with no guarantee of accomplishing anything!  But thats another topic for discussion, I guess.
Anyway, in my few days of exposure to wow, I have enjoyed playing my Tauren Druid.  But I must say, i was really surprised to see so MANY soloing peeps running about.  Where are all the groupers at?
16  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / CG WoW Guild Discussion! on: November 05, 2004, 11:30:47 PM
I am very interested in joining a CG guild on wow.  Of course I have no preference to whether we play alliance or horde, I am just itching to hook up with some cool peeps and have some fun exploring the wow world!
I just recently got into the beta and am fiddling around with characters from both factions.  I live in Chicago, and will mainly be playing in the late afternoon, and evening hours.
I really like the druid, and may even try to get into the shaman class and hunter classes.
And oh yeah, I consider myself a casual player, who only hits it super heavy on one day of the weekend.  Two days if its a special occasion!  biggrin
17  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / The Day After Tomorrow on: November 04, 2004, 01:20:34 PM
I am no expert by any means with wolves, but wouldn't the wolves rather have fresh human meat than human-cicles?

Just a thought!
18  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Second Guessing 'Second Sight' (PS2 version) on: November 03, 2004, 03:08:30 PM
I dunno, maybe its just me, but I thought the graphics were just fine.  I do have the xbox version though.  I have seen 'more realistic' graphics in games, but the 'style' or 'flavor' of the graphics works for me.  You guys make it seem as though there were stick figures walking around or something!  smile

As far as the 'danger factor' goes, there are plenty of games where it takes many hits to kill the player.  I see it as just part of the gameplay.  If it only took 1 shot to kill you, some players may have found the game too difficult.  I dunno what the developers were thinking in this case.  I am no gaming guru, but there were plenty of times where I was gunned down with impunity!

The story was great.  It actually made you care what was going to happen next.  My only complaint is that the ending kind of tied things up too neatly and abruptly.

If there was another SS, I would pick it up for sure.

But, from the previous posts, I will check out psi ops!
19  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Dear God: Why mosquitos? - WBS on: November 01, 2004, 02:52:04 PM

That means is must be at least 60 degrees or better where you're at, right?  Man! I wish!
20  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Fantasy movie by 17yr old on: October 30, 2004, 03:18:08 PM
wow!  He shoulda worked on that crappy D&D movie, it would have at least LOOKED much better!
Good stuff!
21  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Just beat Second Sight, and it's my Game Story of the Year.. on: October 29, 2004, 05:02:31 AM
Thanks to the great reviews you guys posted, I finally picked this one up and I must say its pretty good.  As soon as I saw the graphic style, I was reminded of Timesplitters 2.  But Second Sight seems to be an improvement.  The control is much more intuitive.  So far , so good!
22  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / AGP vs. PCI slots for Video cards on: October 14, 2004, 11:11:05 PM
OK, so my NEXT question is...If I am looking to buy a new PC by the 1st of next month, should I look for one with an AGP slot or one of the new xpress set ups?
23  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / AGP vs. PCI slots for Video cards on: October 14, 2004, 12:55:58 AM
Yeah, I have heard of the xpress thingie.  I have read about some PCs that use it, but they only had expandable PCI slots, no AGP.  This kinda scared me away from them - From what I have gathered, this type of setup is bad news if you are a gamer.
Anyone have any more details about this?
24  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / AGP vs. PCI slots for Video cards on: October 14, 2004, 12:51:00 AM
Whats the REAL difference between cards that use PCI slots vs. cards that use AGP slots?  Are PCI video cards harder to find?  Are PCI cards slower in some way?  Whats the deal?
