I don't understand why the game even drops/sells items for other classes in a single player game. It's not like you can trade it or twink a new toon with it.
You get one of the other characters as a companion fairly early on. I'm assuming ultimately you'll get to chose any of the other three characters to accompany you. You get to equip and level up your companion. Based on several reviews here on GT from those that stuck with it- time to at least download the demo. I liked I and II. Let's see.

I was on for quite a while earlier, but got booted by thunderstorms and just got my connection back. I had made it to level 40, too - how dare they keep me from seeing the new areas that are now open! I'll just take a short peek at them... Nice work to 40 Myto - as you would expect the gap between levels grows sharply after the 'draw you into the showroom' levels 1- 20. I am finding this title very much learn by doing/discovering - also helps to have a couple of buds in-game!

TIP: When you hit level 30, you might think you logged on to the wrong server all of a sudden. Whenever you leave town or from a teleport area, you are warned that you've left a "safe area" and can be attacked by other players. I must have logged in 3 times before I knew it wasn't something I did. Google told me that there are settings that specify whether you want to engage in PvP; the "safe area" messages are still given out, but now I know I can ignore them. I've been playing from 30 to almost-40 and the only thing different so far, is that someone sent me a duel request once. I declined, case closed (whew!) \\ Good info - so there is a way to just turn off PvP requests if you are not interested? Also, how does the Auction bidding and buyout work?

Mytocles and I have started to co-op this F2P title. Looking for other GTers interested in doing some co-op. Game play is fun, nice aesthetic appeal, more suited to those of us into PvE and co-op. I believe Myto is currently lvl 39 and I am around 22. The first 20 lvl's go pretty quickly. Her character name is Mytocles, mine is Aliesha. More info: http://forsakenworldhq.com/Also, drop your tips, tricks, and impressions here. Join us in game or send a PM.

Oh the pain! Okay I have now started the game three times. Each time I get to the Level Complete but cannot exit (assume this is the tutorial level). When I restart I always start at the beginning despite the Level Complete message (which sits on the screen). I was exiting North East but can't seem to actually exit. I get you restart at the beginning of the Level if you exit but I am getting Level Complete - what gives? Assuming that the Level Complete should take me to another level but it doesn't happen.

A teeny, tiny bread crumb of new visual info at the Facebook page, apparently... Diablo III Facebook Reaches 675,000 Likes – New Screenshotshttp://www.blizzplanet.com/blog/comments/diablo-iii-facebook-reaches-675000-likes-new-screenshotsI'm afraid that at age 50 (2015), and I'm not convinced D3 will be out even then, I won't have the enthusiasm for this (or perhaps even the wrist/mouse clicking finger durability) I would've had in my 30s and 40s. But asking someone to do a sequel within, ya know, 10 years of the previous game is clearly too much to ask! Gawd, this thread was created in 2005! On the other side of 50 I can echo these sentiments. The mind is certainly willing but the twitch fingers just don't have it anymore. Is there an ultra-casual mode

They sent an email out stating they had procured additional copies. They sent me a link with a coupon good for the 40% off. I ordered- apparently it worked. Your mileage may vary but hope the guys that ordered from the original deal get another shot.

I pre-ordered (without paying) the Gog deal for Witcher 2. D2D has their 20% sale driving the price down to $ 36 nice! But I understand a larger percentage of the profit for the Gog sale goes to the developers (parent company). What to do?

I only have two tutorials, is this right? Or do I have to DL more somewhere?
I only saw 3 tutorials. 2 freights and 1 passenger. I'll check those out. Where do you find the tutorials?

This is my first year 'back in' to PC gaming after a two year layoff (new rig/new vid card). I went a little nuts. The list does not include pre-holiday purchases of Divinity 2 @ $40, Mafia 2 (from Amazon) and about six other games from GOG (Baldur's Gate 2), Oblivion GOTY, DA:O Ultimate etc: Risen $15.00 Oddboxx $12.50 Thongs of Virtue $11.25 Borderlands $10.00 Batman GOTY $10.00 Darksiders $10.00 Crysis Pack $10.00 Just Cause 2 $7.00 Railworks $6.00 Wings of Prey $6.00 Mafia II DLC $5.75 Indie Pack 4 $5.00 Torchlight $5.00 Stalker pack $5.00 Far Cry 2 $5.00 Amnesia $4.80 Zeno Clash $3.75 Defense Grid $2.50 World of goo $2.50 Sniper Elite $1.50 Flat Out 2 $1.00 Winterbottom $0.50 Total $ 140.05 All together with other services and the gaming mouse from GG and this year weighs in at $ 267.05. Ouch! But I should be set for a very long time. It won't stop me from upcoming titles or sales however.

Bioshock 2 (Amazon, not Steam) was my last purchase of the holiday season. I have to count up the haul and assess the damages - one thing is clear - I have plenty to play for a long time (not that it will stop me from checking the sales regularly). I fully expect to go through withdrawal tomorrow morning

might as well grab the Mafia 2 DLC since it's all 75% off.
Good idea. I grabbed both Jimmy's Vendetta and Joe's Adventure. I couldn't be bothered spending extra money on the other DLC, which is just some new suits and cars, as I doubt those will prolong my enjoyment of the game. actually, after reading reviews on Jimmy and Joe's I think I'm going to pass on both. I was lukewarm on the main game, and it doesn't sound like they will improve my impressions at all. +1

Does Dawn of Discovery work in Win 7? The OS requirements state "Windows Vista (only)" and do not mention Win 7.
works great on my machine, win 7 x64. Same here. Earicci, I can't recommend STALKER highly enough if you have even a passing interest in shooters. It's one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played. Absolutely gripping. Thanks Huw, with two more sale days and my budget maxing I had to make a decision between STALKER and Far Cry 2. I just bought Crysis - STALKER has to be worth a fin! Earicci - good move on Stalker and Crysis, but at $4.99 you have to get Far Cry 2. Walk the neighbor's dog, Shovel some snow, whatever. Don't miss out on Far Cry 2. How did I know someone would say this! Thanks for the recommendation Kestrel. Of course, it isn't the money - but now I can't 'not' - pulling the trigger. I have been watching Breaking Bad - my addiction could be so much worse . I acquired a rig capable of gaming this year after a two year hiateus and an attempted 'switchover to consoles'. The consoles are fine but I am a PC gamer at heart. Having rediscovered Steam it appears I am but in the game full-on. I have enough for two years plus - and I didn't even try hard. Hope everyone has a great New Year!

I bought Transformers and Oblivion GOTY today. I beat Oblivion on XBox, but I figured for $10, I could play it again, plus with mods, plus those two expansions I never got for the 360.
I bought the GOTY a while back (B&M store) added a few mods and was off and running. That lasted until the Steam sale. I will get back to it though. I never enjoyed the 360 version, graphics were poor. Having a decent rig and a few graphic mods really helps. Some games just have a warm fuzzy feel to them. Oblivion does that for me.

I'm still waiting for Mafia 2 to go on sale.
It's $12.50 for a digital copy from Amazon. You can purchase it there, but activate the license to download and play in Steam. That's awesome, thanks for the tip! Edit: awww, US only. Yes, thanks - wasn't going to buy today but will get this one @ Amazon and activate on Steam!

I'm at work so I can't check what the actual number Steam reports within my Library, but I know I'm over 400 now ( thanks to this sale ).
I think we need a formal DSM-IV definition here. At what level does a 'client' qualify for what level pathology: 0 - 50 hobbyist 50 - 125 Normal hardcore gamer, casual abuser 125 - 200 Obsession (a little messed up; wife and kids notice, 'normal' friends think you are a bit whacked) 200 - 300 Addict (you hide sale info from family and game purchases in small bags around the crib) 300 - 400 full blown strung out (you avoid socializing with other, miss meals regularly, pass out in front of the 60" HD regularly); needs direct intervention 400 - (up) if you stand up too quickly you might die - http://www.mektek.net/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t42380.html

Definitely in for Greed Corp, and possibly Amnesia. I'm kind of a wuss...not sure if I could play through a horror title like that. I still shudder a little when I look at that copy of Undying sitting on my shelf.
Might pick up Archon Classic for $2.50 as well. Had fun with it on iPhone.
Me too - but Amnesia is $5 since I have one of the Prenumbra's. Seems like I should give it a shot.
