encounters scale with the group size.  I wouldn't recommend trying to solo the incursion but it could be done.

UBISOFT must have made a deal with the company that makes Mechanix gloves and such because I am getting Mechanix branded stuff dropping now.  Has the trade mark symbol and all after them.
3  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: April 18, 2016, 09:56:10 PM
The incursion mission is extremely hard on just hard mode; I don't even want to try challenging.  I finished this once on hard and got a set chest armor as a drop; took quite a few tries to get it done.

There are two methods I know of to try and complete it without exploiting a glitch and yes there is a new one.

Method one:

Run in to center go down the stairs in 2 pairs and set up the extended mobile cover.  One pair of players on each side, hunker behind cover and kill everyone.  Don't have to deal with drones or rockets they cant get down to you.

Method two:

Three players go in and make a hard left and climb up the wall and fight by the blue doors.  Fourth player stays behind the blue doors and throws down healing as it extends thru the door.  With careful aim you can fire the healing between right door frame and the door.  Player can revive anyone that drops close to the doors.

Both are hard and very trying on the patience.
4  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: April 17, 2016, 02:37:46 AM
There was a way using the mobile shield to glitch your way thru the wall in the garage with the APC.  You wouldn't start the fight and as long as you didn't damage anyone in the garage you could get behind the APC and eventually blow it up.  Two guys in a group I was in were talking about it, they said it took about 40 minutes to blow the APC up using the sticky bomb.

My DZ rank showed as 1 when it should have been 42 once I hit the DZ it showed correctly.

At a conference I won a 32Gb Ipad with AT&T 4G.  A couple of Ipod nano's too.

$250 on a lottery ticket; $50 winner with a x5 multiplier on it

Played in a poker tournament in Vegas split the pot with another guy after it was down to just us 2; $250 each.  Not bad for  $65 buy in.
8  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Does Anyone Really Need 1000/1000? on: March 17, 2016, 09:00:38 PM
It depends on you're internet usage.  I switched to at&t's Gigapower and sometime in the next year San Antonio is supposed to have Googe Fiber available.  This was a recent speed test on my wired desktop:

My son is upstairs on the WiFi either streaming music or watching youtube when I ran it.  I get patches and updates incredibly quickly.  I can stream things if I want so for me it was worth switching.  I have Uverse 450 which is all the TV channels and Gig network for $171 a month.
9  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [movie] Deadpool on: February 15, 2016, 07:01:57 PM
Sorry I don't think you could be more wrong. As a parent you need to know what you are taking your kids too. It's not up to the theatre to tell you that.  It takes a moment to google why a movie has a certain Rating to know what's in it.  Kids there were way to young and the mother didn't do anything.  Didn't say look at the floor or take them out cover their eyes etc.  so here is a group of preteen kids staring at tits and ass on the screen and some fairly blatant sex scenes.

Great movie but WTH parents why are there kids like 7 years old at the movie?  Congrats to the Mom and her 4 kids all young that now know what exactly a strip club is like inside and what goes on in there.
11  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: XB1 Elite controller - mecca of console control, or ridiculously overpriced? on: February 07, 2016, 04:05:11 AM
Got my son one for Christmas.  I then bought myself one a few weeks after he had his.  I think its a much better controller than the others.  I use the left rear paddle for sprinting and the right rear paddle for melee attacks.  You can set up the controller to be game specific so it has lots of options.  I took the front two paddles off.
12  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: January 31, 2016, 03:19:47 PM
I ran solo in the dark zone gathered up some gear and extracted it several times.  There were other players there in a group extracting gear too.  Just because its a PvP zone doesn't mean everyone wants to kill everyone else.  Its not a good idea to do it.  Once your flagged rogue you appear on the map to everyone and you have a timer that's running on you.  You cant leave the zone while the timer is running so you either wait it out or keep ganking which increases the timer until someone kills you.  Once a player is rogue everyone that sees them is usually shooting at them you get a bounty when you kill them.  Killing a rogue player doesn't make you go rogue either.

13  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: January 30, 2016, 05:32:31 PM
I have done lots of missions solo and in groups both in the city and in the dark zone.

In the city there is only on real "instanced" dungeon type run in the beta and its rescuing a doctor in a hospital.  You can solo this on normal difficulty using cover and decent tactics; move cover to cover to not stay in one place etc.  We also ran this in a group of 2 -4 on hard to get some better gear and level people up to 8; max level in beta.  On hard there are harder mob's (elites) and more of them scaling as your group scales.

Dark zone I have been in the area solo and groups.  Here you have to watch everyone and everything.  I have cleared a building of 6 bad guy elites by myself but I did die twice so I have to run back to grab any gear/money I dropped.  When you die in the DZ you drop any contaminated loot and some dark zone money; used to buy good gear from DZ vendors.  A player can come along and take it if they see it or someone in your group can even snag it.  There doesn't seem to be a trade option in the beta so if you drop stuff and its gone when you get back don't get your panties in a wad.

If a player kills you in the dark zone you will drop and non-extracted gear you have and some DZ cash.  Your character also has a dark zone level.  You lose DZ xp when you get killed so you can actually lose levels.  Gear has level requirements so no idea if that means you can no longer use your shiny new weapon.  The best stuff in the DZ right now was 8 12; that means normal level 8 and a DZ level of 12.  In the beta that is as high as you can go.
14  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: January 29, 2016, 06:29:18 PM
This game is fun really having a good time with it.  I like how weapons climb in burst or auto fire so you have to fire in bursts.  Enemies will try to flank you if you stay in one spot.  You have to use cover while fighting.

Dark zone is very cool.  Lots of things to do and when you run into other players there is always that what if factor.  Extractions can be a little nerve wracking waiting 90 seconds on the helo to drop the extraction rope to clip your gear onto. If other players are there the emote jumping jacks means I am not going to shoot you or your team.

Harkonis, Kato, and I grouped up for a bit in the dark zone had some good runs.  Then we went rogue and fragged a team of other players so we were flagged for almost 3 minutes.  We holed up in an underground parking garage to wait it out.  The team came back at us again; Hark engaged them so the focused on him and Kato and I took them from the side.  they went down in on time and didn't come back.  We just hunkered and waited to time out.

We did wind up dying as a team at an extraction later where several groups of player were and NPC's attacked.  I think I got hit by another player a few times and I fragged him which flags the entire group as rogue and they all turned on us.

It looks like a city that's been thru hell and you are there to try to bring some order and help out.  NPC's walk up to you and ask for food. water, or a medkit.  If you provide it they tend to leave you something; usually a clothing item which is just for looks.

Glad I pre-ordered this and I will be getting this when it comes out on the XBOX.

I am all set for this and I had a vacation day I had to use before the end of the month so I am off on Friday.  I will be checking this out on the Xbox.

Any idea on when this will be able to be downloaded?  Is there a pre-loading they may do or just wait until the 28th?
18  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Pax south on: January 27, 2016, 09:21:06 PM
Anyone from GT going to Pax south this weekend?  Thinking about going on Sunday with my son.
19  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: January 22, 2016, 09:15:55 PM
But first Harkonis would ask "how far are you into a kill streak?" then bang headshot.

Unless I am not watching the same video when the group goes into the PvP zone they kill other groups at the extraction point; no one TK'd anyone in the same group.  They took out the group that was extracting then the group of two that helped them.  They then killed the first group of three again when they came back.

SO I pre-ordered via BestBuy but doesn't look like that gets you into the beta may have to return that and pre-order thru the XBOX.

You level stupid quick now.  Once you get to where you can queue for dungeons you can skip entire areas if you want.  Equip some heirloom gear and rocket up even faster.

Anyone playing or know anything about this game?  I signed up on its site a while ago and keep getting invites to different aspects of it but I would have to buy in to the base product.  Buy a ship for at least $45 I think.  Odd that I am invited to an Alpha but I have to buy a ship to play it.

Lowe's  Storage Engineer III
July 2011 - Present

As a Storage Engineer for Lowe's Companies I am the sole physical presence here in the San Antonio Data Center.  The Lowe's date center in San Antonio is development, test, QA, Disaster Recovery, and some production.  I am responsible for all physical work within the data center to support the storage environment.  Locally I manage 5 Petabytes of storage (backup excluded), 20 Brocade Directors, remote links between data centers for both mainframe and open systems.  My daily duties are to assign san ports, run cabling, provision storage for projects, and work with our Intel/Unix teams on any issues.  I perform all storage work for our monthly D/R exercise and have created custom procedures for targeted D/R events.   I have initiated projects at Lowe's that have reduced costs to the company by approximately $500,000 by optimizing equipment utilization and placement in the data center.  I merged SAN fabrics to migrate servers and storage to newer SAN hardware to retire the SAN equipment due for maintenance, lowering costs.  I created a second fabric to provide high availability to the open systems environment.   I mentored Lowe's Command Center persons to teach them the SAN provisioning process.  I work with the Mooresville engineering team to vet code/firmware prior to upgrades to our environment.  I have worked on multiple "Proof of Concept" initiatives to include; Ficon with TerraData, Isilon, Zlunix on open systems, NETAPP, and implementing DCX4S with FCIP for replication (mainframe and open systems).   Monitor a small team of contractors that provision storage to ensure SLA's are maintained and requests are expedited appropriately.   In the San Antonio Data Center I currently support; VMAX, DMX-4, VNX, Clariion CX4's, Isilon, Data Domain, Avamar, and NETAPP storage units; our SAN is exclusively Brocade.

Below is a summary of the hardware that I actively and have worked with:

Symmetrix – 8000 series, DMX800/1000/2000/3000, DMX3/4, VMAX
Clariion – CX300/500/700, CX3-40/80, CX4-240/480/960, VNX (Unified and block)
NAS – NS120, NS40, NS960, NSG8, NSX

I think the player base is dwindling.  The whole garrison raid/group finder thing just has a lot of areas now empty on servers.  I am mainly on twisting nether and even with server merges it is low on population.  People get in farm what they want and log off.  Garrisons are called fortress of solitudes everything you need is there; gather what you want craft queue up from there.  What do you need main cities for anymore?  For me its become almost a single player game.  Now they have the new time sink of the ships in your harbor to send out on missions.

32  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: World of Warships on: August 09, 2015, 03:30:55 PM
I play pretty much every day.  I really like the IJN destroyers, with torpedoes that can run 10K they can surprise enemy ships big time.  Its a fun game very team oriented.  Lone wolf tactics tend to get you dead.
33  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Resume writing guides? on: August 09, 2015, 03:24:48 PM
Don't bother with the "My goal is" statement no one who is hiring cares what your goal is they care what you can do for them.

Keep it to one page if you can.

You have to get their interest in the top third of the first page or they wont read any farther.

Don't downplay yourself.  Military people do this all the time including myself.

My resume is two pages with everything important on page one and work history on page 2.

Thanks for the keys been playing this game and enjoying it.  So is my son, he is 14 and its "cool" to be in a beta to him.  Its a good game having fun although I am still struggling with how accurate some players on at distance (like 15Km) with first salvo hits.  Making torpedo runs can be frustrating due to the range and your team mates doing stupid things.  Torpedo's don't care what they hit they go boom so FF is always an option with them and some players just don't care if they hit a team mate with them.

Ron you may want to look at GM in Austin.  They got rid of all the contractors and hired a whole lot of people; two of my co-workers went there.  The pay for one guy was very good as a starting storage engineer and the benefits were excellent.  They are still hiring.  My other co-worker is an AIX person and she works 3 12 hour days from home doing AIX support; yes its full time for her.
