You can play through the campaign until you get to space; the preview stops once you go to drop into the first mission on the ground with Marines.  I played one round of online team death match.  The entire opposing team seemed to be made up of the robot combat rig designed for close up combat.  Had enemy players spawn 30 feet away from me etc.  I went on a kill streak of maybe 4 players once but in general I didn't care for it.

I did like what I played of the campaign but that's only meant to be a small part of the game.
2  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (CoD goes Halo) on: December 18, 2016, 02:40:47 PM
Its free to play until December 20.  I have played through a few of the campaign missions the story so far is pretty good.  Missions have been pretty good, standard fare you have to keep advancing or enemies just keep spawning in.  I like the seeker bots you can deploy.

I don't  get the complaints.  As you go up in level the enemy's get harder to kill.  How do you make something harder to kill in a game?  Give it more health/armor.  There is only so many ways to skin that cat.  If you want it real where a round takes an enemy out of the fight then it should do the same to you what fun would that be?

I enjoy the game.  If you have a decent team or group then its much more fun.  Survival mode is to me a blast.  You are fighting against cold/hunger/thirst/disease and time.  If you are in a group that cooperates you can be successful whether you extract or not.

6  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: November 29, 2016, 01:05:28 AM
4th time in is a charm.  Got in a group we stuck together helped each other out and moved rather well.  We got into the dark zone I picked up my anti-viral, another player had the flare gun.  We headed to an extraction with most of us picking up extra along the way.  We sent up a flare and waited for the helo to come in and land.  A three minute fight against hunters (very hard elites that heal and disrupt).  I went down and no one had a medkit until they dropped a hunter and picked one up.  They got me back up and we fought off the hunters and managed an extraction.  We beat out 20 other players in groups.  Was a good time and a big fight to get it done.

I finished up with 8 satchels one for completing the mission to extract.
7  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: November 24, 2016, 04:40:51 AM
The new DLC Survival mode you can run:

PVE in group
PVP in group

24 players are competing to get the anti-virus and extract it.  While it is fun it is not really a good way to "gear up".  Missions are much faster you can spend up to two hours in Survival mode on the mission.
8  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: November 24, 2016, 02:36:23 AM
Ran through a survival PVE mission as a group.  Lasted an hour and 15 minutes; 7 of 24 agents left when I died due to disease.  I got 3 caches out of it and we made it into the dark zone to an extraction point.  The interesting things is you start with junk and have to pick up everything you need.  You have to craft items to get skills like pulse and healing.  You have to craft a virus filter to get into the dark zone and a flare gun to extract, which takes 4.5 minutes apparently.  I didn't get that far.  You have to eat/drink and use meds on yourself to keep from dying.  Staying warm isn't to hard go into a building or light a barrel on fire.
9  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: November 24, 2016, 01:04:39 AM
Patch 1.5 is out and so is survival mode DLC.

Patch 1.5 brings new gear and now tier 5 which is fairly hard.  Team work and using strategy pays off well and you don't die.  At tier 5 you cannot just run through a mission as fast as you can anymore.

have not tried out survival mode sounds interesting.  You have to take into account cold/hunger/thirst etc. to try to get to the center and extract something, oh yeah your also dying slowly from the disease.

Took the Xbox One to a guys shop that repairs them and the darn thing turned right on for him.  Disconnected everything hooked it up and turned onagai, brought it home haven't had the issue since.
13  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: October 26, 2016, 10:42:59 PM
Well my Xbox apparently didn't tank after all.  took it to a shop and it powered right up twice for the guy; wouldn't power up for me half a dozen times and even tried using my sons power cords.

With my level 229 character I can run thru most things without an issue.  Did a challenging daily mission with a group and we pretty much cruised thru it.  Went into the underground and ran a hard 2 part mission with 4 modifiers with pretty much no issue with a 3 man group.  A player would get knocked time once in a while but nothing terrible.  This was on tier level 4.

I seem to be carrying a lot more ammo now too.  I have 2000+ rounds for my primary gun.  I was wearing 4 tactician and 2 Lone Star prior to patch.  You have to look at the sets again some are much better now.  Some sets I would automatically junk before look appealing now.

Loot:  I finished with four loot caches; one for leveling up a field crate and 3 I guess I picked up.

I now have multiple pieces of the Banshee set which will be the new go to set in the dark zone.  The bonuses are made for it.

from memory:

Banshee Set
2 pieces +20% DZ funds
3 pieces +10% damage to out of cover
4 pieces  +10% damage to a rogue player if you are not rogue.  Ammo refills every 30 seconds.  You do not drop any gear or DZ funds on death.

I am betting they will have to change the ammo refill time you can run around guns blazing 24/7 with a refill every 30 seconds.

You can buy Banshee patterns in the underground from the vendor lower levels in some cases but you still can get the bonuses from them.

Came home today at lunch and kicked off the download of The Division patch.  Went back to work to let it finish.  Come home and my console goes gleek lights up the xbox start button and does nothing.  Tried the bind and eject button at the same time nothing.  took it upstairs and used the power brick from my sons xbox one and nothing no video or any sound of a fan or the drive cranking up.  Might be time to get a One S.

Don't buy this for single player.  The solo missions are short stories anywhere from 2 - 6 "arcs" so to speak.  I have finished the air craft one and the Italian one they essentially introduce you to gameplay and different classes.  They are nice stories but not worth buying the game for.

They wipe the hosts so they don't remember what happened doesn't mean that they cannot compensate if someone asks them a question mid-story on another day.  Remember they are always trying to error correct.

Sorry to hear about it not being a fit for you.  I do tend to sit forward when at my PC or playing on my Xbox so rarely is my back against the back of the chair.  My legs do tend to be against where the cushion curls up on the base but that seems natural to me for a chair.

This post has  been viewed a bunch of times did this help anyone out?  Still happy with the chair over the last few days I think the purchase was worth it.
21  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Buying a gaming chair looking for options on: August 11, 2016, 09:58:02 PM
Chair arrived yesterday in a big box weighing in at 56lbs.  Unpacking it was easy and the way its in there no piece interferes or can damage another piece as there is foam or cardboard between them.  The large pieces are also in plastic bags.  Instructions to put the chair together are in a trifold brochure size pamphlet.  I put this together by myself, its recommended to have two people.  A set of white gloves is included if you really want to either protect the chair from your hands or your hands from the chair; I didn't notice any grease or substance that would call for these on the pieces of the chair.

Back of the chair goes onto the seat.  Its a large back with two bolts that are in the holes already to mount it; remove the bolts and put it together.  this is the only place I had an issue.  I put in the two bolts loosely on the left side and then I could not get the right side bottom bolt in at all.  Took out the left bolts and put in both right side bolts no problem; over to left side no problem there.  Put the plastic covers on and secure with one bolt each; allen wrenches are provided.

Next step turn it over and put on the tilt mechanism.  Again bolts are in the holes under the chair already; they say had tight.  I have taken helicopters apart and put them back together those bolts are not had tight.  Use the allen wrench and take them out; be very careful not to lose a washer into the bottom of the seat.  I could see someone playing hell getting it to fall out.  Install the tilt mechanism with the part labeled front to the front; not hard.  This step recommended using a table I sued the box the chair came in just turned it upside down worked great.

Last steps install the lift piston and then insert the 5 star legs, insert the wheels.  Turn the chair right side up and you are done.  Chairs comes with a neck pillow that can be strapped into place and a lumbar support that has straps as well.

I have only sat in it a bit so this isn't based on hours of sitting.  I am 72" and 285 lbs. so I am not little; the piston on this chair is rated to 330lbs.  The back of this chair is big and at the moment this thing is extremely firm.  My first test was to pull the lever and lay the back down all the way to 180 with me in it.  This is a bit freaky because you will swear that you are going to go over but you don't.  You can indeed lay this chair all they way out to 180 and not fall over.  to lean the chair back its just like a car, pull a lever on the right side and back you go.  Go back up pull the lever and viola up it goes.  The piston has a good range of travel on it and at the highest setting its too high for my desk so I have to lower it just a bit.  Every other chair I have had they had to be all the way up.  Arm rests are adjustable up/down so they are set so I can rest my arm but the chair still will fit under my desk; this is important as my desk is glass.  I had the carpet removed in the office (had car catch fire in garage) so I had it replaced with engineer bamboo hardwood.  Previous office chair had standard plastic casters so I was concerned about damage; really shouldn't be a problem with engineered hardwood.  This chair rolls great and is pretty much silent doing so, I am definitely not worried about the hardwood with the casters on this.  I (think) I adjusted the mechanism to be able to just lean back and recline a bit however its very hard to recline.  Just leaning back and it doesn't recline I have to push with my feet to make it recline and I pop right back up.  Don't mix this up with the ability to lay the chair back that's different this is just leaning back and reclining a bit.  I may have to google this or make a call to the manufacturer; I don't tend to recline back a lot plus you can just lean back into the chair and its fine.

Did I mention that this chair if FIRM, I mean at the moment stupid firm like almost no give in it.  This seems to be in keeping with other people that have reviewed this.  I like this though as this tells me that the seat cushion should last a long time on this.  I don't have the impression that this chair will be an uncomfortable thing to sit in within a year or two.  My wife's comment was "that's a kick ass chair" and she then asked me if she could steal the lumber support from it.  I tend to agree I think its a "kick ass chair" but I didn't agree with the steal the lumbar support part.  I like the neck support when I lean back into the chair, I am reserving judgement on the lumbar.  To be fair I don't need a lumbar support and I have never used a lumbar support (one not built in).  The chair I have is silver/black which I think looks pretty good and being in San Antonio Silver/Black is Spur's colors.  Chair was $299 with free shipping and I didn't pay any sales tax.  I do not use pedals for any games I did for flight sims and I have the steering wheel/pedals combo for XBOX360.  Now with how easy this chair roll on hardwood I could see where using pedals could cause me to roll depending on the angle and force used on them.  I don't think it would be a problem though also I am on hardwood.

Right now after my first impressions and sitting in it while writing this out I think this was a good buy.  I attached a picture of my chair no idea why it got rotated 90 degrees when I attached it.

Well I finally got into a group and finished the Clear Sky incursion.  Lots of moving and having to work together to stay up and finish that boss off.  Falcon Lost is easy now; may have to start trying FL on challenging.  The HVT missions can be fun, I tried running one of the highest level daily ones solo and there was just too many to try and take down in the time limit given.  I did get to the the final wave where the boss guy comes out; so many grenades.

I still play this on the XBOX.  The first incursion falcon lost is pretty easy to do now.  the second incursion is another story.  You have to work and move together and the faster you do it the better.  I don't see anyone on this game any more though.  The new break out for the dark zoen has made that much harder now especially if you are solo.

30  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Car fire in my garage on: June 06, 2016, 10:09:08 PM
It started in the engine compartment and was probably started from a short or something.  Went to the fire department to get the  case number for USAA and the same guy was on duty again.  He even told me it was a good thing I closed that door so it stayed in the garage and didn't get as much air; too many people apparently leave doors wide open.

USAA and the vendors they use have been great so far.  The clothes guy came out Sunday and bagged almost every piece of clothing, drapes, bed linens.  Only stuff left is the wife's closet cause she is squirrelly about her stuff.  ServPro cleaned out all the A/C ducts today so I have my A/C back on with a lemony fresh scent they put in them.  As the ServPro guy put it the "ladies" will be out tomorrow to start cleaning the rest of the house.  I mean everything walls, floors, ceilings, everything out of the cabinets hand washed and put back.

I paid the electrician to inspect the garage so the power could be turned on and we bought $56 worth of cleaning stuff at HEB on Friday.  USAA already mailed me a check for those expenses.   All I did was take a picture of the receipts and upload them to the claim with a note.  While this is a pain in the ass in many ways USAA's response is really making this a LOT easier.  The check to the clothes guy so far is $7800+ from USAA.  The board up company has already been paid for that too.  I had a guy I know replace the TMP valve on the hot water heater so I have hot water as of today.

The vehicle will suck.  It ran and was just fine, solid for 12 years now I will be lucky to get $3700 for it; was $27,595 new (window sticker was still in glove box).
31  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Car fire in my garage on: June 04, 2016, 07:55:46 PM
So Thursday night my wife drives home thru the rain and some water on the roads a little high nothing unusual about it really.  She parked in the garage like normal a few minutes after 7PM and I started cooking some food.  Smelled something odd and was trying to figure it out; I initially thought maybe my PC had overheated or something.  Nope saw a bit of smoke in the front of our house, opened the door to the garage and it was a wall of black smoke.  Slammed the door (a fire door BTW) told everyone to get out of the house.  Called 911 from the front porch and watched smoke boil out from above the garage door.  A sheriff rolled up in a few minutes and he comes out with a fire extinguisher.  fire department a few minutes later and they had trouble getting their saw running so they went thru my front door with the hoses to put it out.  The got the saw running cut my garage door open and pulled the Mariner out with a winch on the truck.  They cut the hood off with the now running saw while hosing it down.  The Mariner is totaled and most likely everything in my garage will be written off; ServPro did a quick check today.

Got everyone out, including the dog and bearded dragon.

USAA is pretty good with response time.  Had a hotel arranged that night that would take pets with two rooms and a kitchen.  Garage was boarded up about 2 hours after the fire dept. was all done. I have an auto claim and a homeowners claim; like four different vendors to deal with on the homeowners stuff.

Soot from the fire gets EVERYWHERE.  The fire department opened all my upstairs window's and put fans in the front door to blow the house out.

The incursion mission is extremely hard on just hard mode; I don't even want to try challenging.  I finished this once on hard and got a set chest armor as a drop; took quite a few tries to get it done.

There are two methods I know of to try and complete it without exploiting a glitch and yes there is a new one.

Method one:

Run in to center go down the stairs in 2 pairs and set up the extended mobile cover.  One pair of players on each side, hunker behind cover and kill everyone.  Don't have to deal with drones or rockets they cant get down to you.

Method two:

Three players go in and make a hard left and climb up the wall and fight by the blue doors.  Fourth player stays behind the blue doors and throws down healing as it extends thru the door.  With careful aim you can fire the healing between right door frame and the door.  Player can revive anyone that drops close to the doors.

Both are hard and very trying on the patience.

There was a way using the mobile shield to glitch your way thru the wall in the garage with the APC.  You wouldn't start the fight and as long as you didn't damage anyone in the garage you could get behind the APC and eventually blow it up.  Two guys in a group I was in were talking about it, they said it took about 40 minutes to blow the APC up using the sticky bomb.

My DZ rank showed as 1 when it should have been 42 once I hit the DZ it showed correctly.

At a conference I won a 32Gb Ipad with AT&T 4G.  A couple of Ipod nano's too.

$250 on a lottery ticket; $50 winner with a x5 multiplier on it

Played in a poker tournament in Vegas split the pot with another guy after it was down to just us 2; $250 each.  Not bad for  $65 buy in.

It depends on you're internet usage.  I switched to at&t's Gigapower and sometime in the next year San Antonio is supposed to have Googe Fiber available.  This was a recent speed test on my wired desktop:

My son is upstairs on the WiFi either streaming music or watching youtube when I ran it.  I get patches and updates incredibly quickly.  I can stream things if I want so for me it was worth switching.  I have Uverse 450 which is all the TV channels and Gig network for $171 a month.

Sorry I don't think you could be more wrong. As a parent you need to know what you are taking your kids too. It's not up to the theatre to tell you that.  It takes a moment to google why a movie has a certain Rating to know what's in it.  Kids there were way to young and the mother didn't do anything.  Didn't say look at the floor or take them out cover their eyes etc.  so here is a group of preteen kids staring at tits and ass on the screen and some fairly blatant sex scenes.
