Been doing it for over a year and don't regret it. Not missing the 120+ dollar cable bill that I used to get every month. OTA HD NFL Football is all I really care about everything else can be seen either on DVD or through some sort of streaming service.

The Sanza Fuze wouldn't be a bad choice either. It's small, cheap, rugged and easy to use. Thanks to the micro sd card slot you can buy the 2gb model and add more storage at any time cheaply and easily. As a bonus, on Amazon you can get these nifty clear hard cases for really cheap that really do a great job of protecting the player.

I just picked up a Toshiba laptop over the weekend from Best Buy that seems pretty nice and within the specs you are looking for. 16 inch screen Intel Core i3 processor 4 gigs of DDR 3 500gb 7200 Hard Drive Windows Home Premium 64-bit Intel integrated graphics 12 cell batter for 8+! hours of batter life 679.99 After a week with it I can't find much I don't like about it although it can't hold a candle to my MacBook Pro. It does have a "chicklit style" keyboard like the Macs do and the keyboard has a seperate numeric pad which is kind of nice to have - but not everyone may like this type of keyboard so they may want to try it out first on a store display or something. Here's the model and SKU number if you want to check it out: Model: A665-S6050 | SKU: 9988697

I really, really, enjoyed this movie. Highly recommended! Heck, my wife even liked it and she rarely likes anything I like.

I watched it. Pretty forgettable imho. I don't see myself watching another episode. What is it with the day-walking vampires these days anyway? At least they aren't sparkly. Vampires are supposed to be bad-ass, soulless and nocturnal.

Roguetad - I was thinking the same thing yesterday when looking at all of the photos but I couldn't come up with a good way to say it like you did.
It just seems like war, while always horrible, was extra-horrible back in those days. Maybe it's simply a different type of horrible because it was more hand's on with less tech than today. I am in no way making light of what our Military faces today because I know it's just as terrible.
Any type of war is never good.

I never subjected myself to that movie because of how bad I heard it was. Maybe I should check it out. Is it like Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus bad or more like Transformers 2 bad?

I actually am using RipIt4Me along with DVD Decryptor. It's pretty much a one click solution if you want to make a 1:1 copy of a DVD. Good suggestions for you though all around.
You should be able to find these 2 programs for download but if not, I can get them to you.

I would say a combination of AnyDVD plus DVD De-Cryptor. I have used this for a long time now to backup all of my DVD's that I have. At least I think this is what I use. I will check when I get home. The bad thing is that this stuff may be hard to find to download. I have copies of this stuff that I can lay on you though.
It's important to note that this software is shareware or freeware so that no one gets worked up about Piracy issues.
Anyway, let me check when I get home, it's been a while since I have used it since my DVD purchasing has pretty much been next to nothing for a while now since Blu-Ray took over. (I have yet to get a Blu-Ray player, I am so sad...)
If you have questions or something, feel free to PM me.

So jealous! I love every aspect of the tech buying process. The research, the pros and cons, the final decisions, the ordering and the anticipation that comes with it, receiving it and just examining your new goodies before you drop off the deep end and commence with the installation and usage of the new stuff! I LOVE ALL OF IT. Ever since the little lady came into the picture I have pretty much sworn off buying new gadgets unless absolutely necessary. The good thing is that this enables us to apply that which we save to our daughters future so she has the resource to be everything that she chooses to be. Anyway, I am jealously living vicariously through you you lucky bastage!

I think Ubi deserves every bit of "ire" that they get. It's pretty simple really. Ubi knew 2 things before this game was released: 1.) DRM does not stop piracy at all. 2.) Customers who actually purchase the game legitimately get screwed over every time.
Their choice? Ignore both undeniable truths and release it anyway with horrible DRM restrictions.
Maybe they should have just accepted the fact that Piracy happens and not taken it out once again on the paying customer and dialied back the DRM a bit. At least they can be comforted in the fact that in most instances of piracy it doesn't lead directly to a lost sale and that sometimes piracy can even lead to more sales.
Whatever though. In the end, we lose and they have the scourge of piracy to blame all of their problems on again.

I "instant watched it" with the help of my lROKU box. Damn. That was really hard to get through. It is a challenging movie and I don't think I am up to the challenge to be honest because that would mean I would have to watch it again. No thank you.
Oddly, before this fiilm, I had myself pegged as a bit of a de-sensitized movie watcher since most movies typically fail to register much of an emotional reaction from me. This movie kind of changed that for me as I pretty much felt emotionally spent after watching it. It certainly will stay with you for a while.

Here is the major problem as I see it. Unless they somehow strip this horrible DRM for you before they do it, you are only going to be able to play the game for as long as they decide to keep the DRM servers up and running. That doesn't seem right. EA shut down their Madden 09 servers this year as well as tons of others. Sucks for those paying customers, and their DRM scheme was a failure before it evern began on all of those games. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2010/01/ea-shuts-down-25-game-servers-including-madden-09.arsThe same thing could happen in this case too. It stands to reason anyway that they will shut the servers down at some point. Regardless of how long you might play a game, the fact that they dictate that in itself sucks.

I think Hollywood has gotten to me on this one. I have to admit, I really want to see this movie and will more than likely go and watch it in the theater this weekend. I just love the premise of the movie for some reason. I never saw the original John Romero one but now I definitely will give it a watch too.
Hmm a couple slip ups in this thread. It was probably 'George Romero' and mine should have been the FX channel... Heh, whoops!

Added it to my Netflix "Instant" queue, looks like it could be a fun little zombie movie. You guys should check out http://streamingsoon.com/ if you are into the streaming stuff that Netflix offers. I have been knowing that Dead Snow would be available to watch instantly for a couple of months now thanks to that site. I just add the upcoming ones to my regular dvd queue and then when they become available a little blue add button will show up letting you add that dvd to your instant queue. It also will show a release date at some point for when it will go instant.

The popcorn and nuts commercial was pretty good with all of the people doing water tricks like dolphins do. The Bud-Light commercials were pretty good for the most part - wasn't the T-Payne one a Bud-Light commercial because that one cracked me up. The Snickers one with Betty White was quite awesome as well.

My prediction of a 42-28 Saints win was off by final numbers only. The Saints beat them by 14 anyway. Wow I am on cloud 9 today. I only wish my Granddad would be alive to witness this milestone. He was a Saints season ticket holder for years and his passing away was the only reason he doesn't still have them. He only missed it by a year and a half.

So who thinks Favre is going to retire or come back? Given his history I expect him to do both. This is true. I can't see him wanting to end on a sour note like that though. It's gotta sting for him the way it ended.

Wow what a spoilsport. Poking fun at you.
Sorry. I guess being a Browns fan has made me bitter. I guess if the Browns ever made it I would be woofing like a dog for two weeks straight. I totally feel your pain! The Saints have let me down more times than I care to remember. Sorry about egging you on, as you can imagine, I am sort of wound up right now about us going to the Superbowl.
