It really is kind of mean the way GT keeps OO refugees from creating new threads on different topics. Instead we're forced to cram all topics into this one OO designated thread.

Really?   When was that ever stated?   I thought most of the refugee just posted to this thread cause this is where the OO server status is usually posted.

Section 7, paragraph 3, part II of the Terms and Conditions for using the GT forums.

"No forum member who predominantly uses Octopus Overlords (henceforth known as OO) shall create a new thread in the GamingTrend (henceforth known as GT) forum. All topics from OO users must be held within the "OO off line for a short time" thread. Violation of this rule is terms for banishment from GT."

7  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Does ice cream that is partially melted on: March 15, 2015, 01:39:49 PM
Sometimes we get ice cream from the freezer that is so frozen we put it in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it up.
Never noticed anything unusual about the refrozen ice cream afterwards but there probably is some kind of change.

My wife (who was a nurse and a paramedic) tells me that children who suck their thumb a lot end up with a gap in their smile when they're adults.

16  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / For hunters like me. on: September 04, 2013, 08:41:43 PM
I love to shoot. But shooting at stationary targets gets a little boring sometimes.
I also don't like killing things if I can help it, hence, I don't hunt.
I've been thinking of paintball hunting. We have tons of deer up here so I could shoot deer with paintballs.
I can just see in the deer season hunters out hunting deer and seeing all the orange or green splotches on their bodies.

I find it odd that an NBC poll says 80% of Americans want Obama to bomb Syria when I don't know of a single person who does.

34  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / dbt's condition on: August 25, 2013, 09:24:41 PM
As some of you may or may not know a few weeks ago I had a cancerous tumor taken out of my hear. Sad to say I died.
 icon_wink
No, but they did have to patch my ear back up with a chunk of flesh from my leg. All in all in was not a pleasant experience.
Four days later I got a kidney stone that made every other pain I have ever experienced seem like a paper cut. I went to the VA EMR and eventually they gave me some pain medicine and took a bunch of tests. I'm having a fine baby boy. Or so it feels like.
They sent me home and two days later I was back at the EMR. More pain medicine and told me I'm just going to have to wait it out.
I'm still waiting. This week I go back to the VA to see if it's stuck and if they're going to have to do laser surgery.
Meanwhile chunks of meat are falling out of my ear and the look like bacon. I suppose (i.e. Hope like hell) this is normal.
I have to pee thru a screen and look for anything abbynormal.
The ear thing has screwed up my sense of balance pretty good/bad so I'm enjoying walking into things and falling down.
Other than that I'm peachy keen.
Do you all still want to grow older?

In high school I took German but wasn't too good at it. Spent some time over in Germany where I learned it a little bit better.
I'm one of those weird people who believe in reincarnation and I was a German soldier who died in WW1 and 2. My wife catches me all the time sleeping speaking perfect
German and trying to march around under the covers or something.
You can think of me as crazy or weird I don't care but I think I'm probably reliving some of my past lives somewhere.
I think most around here think I'm crazy but interesting and that's okay by me. icon_wink

39  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Wierd dream on: August 24, 2013, 05:24:53 AM
Just woke up from one of the weirdest dreams.
My wife and I were in Germany for some reason and I was being haunted by a poltergeist.
She couldn't  help me. We went on this really wild car ride. Finally it stopped and some kindly local People took me in and tried to help.
Finally this doctor ( who worked on me a couple of weeks ago on a cancer tumor I had; for real) called me up and told me the name of the poltergeist....John Meyer.
After that the ghost stopped bothering me.
That isn't the weird part, the whole dream was in perfect German.
