Bought Rocksmith 2014 for the 360 and sweet Jesus is it awesome!!!  Eddie Van Halen, look out!! Lol
2  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: 30 days until launch. Which system are you getting? on: October 23, 2013, 02:51:14 PM
This is the reason I canceled my preorder and am going to see how it shakes out the next few months.. Hopefully by then people will have ha enough time to test the systems out, we can get some concrete info and more game announcements and then I can jump in.. There are things I like on paper about both systems..  Great time to be a gamer.
3  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: 30 days until launch. Which system are you getting? on: October 22, 2013, 04:35:35 PM
So back on topic smile.  I had the PS4 preordered but canceled it and now and holding out for a Xbox one... Main reason?  Kids love kinect and wife is super interested in the workout stuff.   With 3 kids, I'm not nearly as hardcore of a gamer so lots of time is spent either playing ridiculous Wipeout type games with them or sneaking in time for the occasional rpg, shooter or sports game prior to me passing out from exhaustion after a normal day..lol

I'm looking to maybe pickup a PS4 down be road when Naughty Dog exclusives come out but I suspect I have a bit of time.   I'll be watching closely here though for reviews.   Since everything is sold out, maybe I get swayed yet again!
4  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: 30 days until launch. Which system are you getting? on: October 21, 2013, 03:03:55 PM
The great mystery for me is the ps eye...how is this going to be used?? I can't find anything on line about future plans for it.. I think it does full body movement tracking but really not a lot of info on it.  My wife likes the workout stuff so kinect seems like a better choice but will ps eye be able to do that as well?  Seems by not including it with the system they kind of kept the scope of it's functionality in the dark...
5  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: 30 days until launch. Which system are you getting? on: October 19, 2013, 12:55:41 AM
Well I have the PS4 preordered but not sure entirely if I want to keep that or move it to Xbox.. The kids and wife would like the kinect for those types of games and fitness but I can't find hardly any info on the PS move an what if anything will be coming out they utilizes it.    I will eventually get both systems but really struggling with being an early adopter on this one...
6  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [PC/360] The Secret World MMOG Announced: I'm Pumped on: May 14, 2012, 12:11:07 AM
I didn't even try those quests out yet..the "standard" quests alone were fun, but I'm holding off some stuff until launch..people also seemed super helpful as I kept getting myself in jams...I think this will be a fun mmo, and I'm digging the current day world..
7  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [PC/360] The Secret World MMOG Announced: I'm Pumped on: May 13, 2012, 03:10:41 PM
I actually liked this beta enough to pick it up when it ships..the environment was cool and being current world was a nice change...the combat seemed a bit simple, but I had a rifle and only 2 options to shoot one person or shoot many...I'm sure I'm missing stuff but being beta I was looking for how it performed on my laptop and seeing it if was interesting enough to buy...I had fun so is say yes...I am a pretty casual player (3 kids, gametime gets limited) so I may be missing things that turn hardcores off..
8  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wargame - European Escalation on: February 26, 2012, 09:04:48 PM
Nice....I'm more of a single player person anyway, so the bot thing is always a nice choice...with 3 kids, tough to shedule mp with friends...thanks for the info!!!
9  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wargame - European Escalation on: February 26, 2012, 08:59:13 PM
I'm thinking of picking this up..you said you can play the multiplayer maps against the ai?   Also, are there nukes in the game  icon_twisted?
10  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Biggest surprise hit/disapointment of the year 2011 on: December 04, 2011, 12:56:37 AM
The biggest surprise for me by far has been Rocksmith...practicing guitar was never fun, but this "game"  makes it so, and also has made me a better player.. not only that, it got my wife interested in guitar to the point where she now owns a guitar and is hell bent on mastering these songs..

Biggest dissapointment has been la noir...basically a cool looking movie that had a maddening interview process and even more maddening story resolution..

12  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Ever had a knee injury? I could use some advice. on: May 25, 2010, 10:07:22 PM
Yeah, I agree.. I broke my kneecap and tore my patella tendon in April, and after having surgery a week later, im just now off crutches and starting rehab.. I wont have full range of motion most likely until toward the end of the year..  The knee is a brutal place to have an injury and if you have one and don't get it treated, it can cause other problems since the knee is unstable.  Can't mess around with this kind of stuff.
13  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Saddle up! The Red Dead Redemption impressions thread. on: May 18, 2010, 10:20:15 PM
I bought the game, but i can't get more than 5 minutes into a mission in SP without it locking up.  First game I've had to do that.  I just experienced lockup #7, and almost tossed the controller threw the window.  Im assuming since everyone else is playing, this is a me problem and not a game problem....ughhh..lol

Great write up!! Quick question, is there a title defense in exhibition this year? I know there was a version last year, but it never kept track of the champions.. I think it was whoever was in the blue corner was champ.  Is that different this year? Thanks!

I just can't get into Dragon Age, so I was looking to see if anyone was interested in doing an old swaparoo for a PS3 Dragon Age for Mass Effect 2 or Risen on the 360?

I did use the code in Dragon Age for the armor, but the case and manual are mint.  I'll also throw in a copy of MLB the SHow 09 if your interested.  Cheers!

18  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: MLB 10 The Show (PS3) on: February 26, 2010, 08:42:49 PM
This game just seemed to "get" baseball last year.  It had the atmosphere, the announcing was the best i've ever heard in any sports game, and it was just fun to play.  This year it seems they worked more on enchancing the atmosphere of stadiums (adding rally towels, team specific HR celebrations, fireworks, crowd participation, etc) along with thousands of animations for players and I guess some new stuff for Road to the Show (Never really played that mode).   Its a day 1 purchase for me, which is pretty rare these days.   Can't wait to have my video game Dbacks suck just as much as the real ones! lol
19  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: Screw the labels, what are YOUR stances? on: October 23, 2009, 04:37:07 PM

While it's not a party, it has been a philosophical movement. smile

Quote
Freethought holds that individuals should neither accept nor reject ideas proposed as truth without recourse to knowledge and reason. Thus, freethinkers strive to build their opinions on the basis of facts, scientific inquiry, and logical principles, independent of any logical fallacies or the intellectually-limiting effects of authority, cognitive bias, conventional wisdom, popular culture, prejudice, sectarianism, tradition, urban legend, and all other dogmatic or otherwise fallacious principles. Applied to religion, freethinkers have generally held that, given presently-known facts, established scientific theories, and logical principles, there is insufficient evidence to support the existence of supernatural phenomena.

Damn, I pretty much was there until the whole supernatural phenomena thing, and UFO's etc..  I free thought myself out of the movement before I even get a T-shirt!! Thanks for the link, I had no idea that moment existed..lol
20  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: Screw the labels, what are YOUR stances? on: October 23, 2009, 04:13:11 PM
Well, I never get involed in these, but its Friday, so why not.

I have no idea what I am... is free thinker a party?? I like some things Republican, some things Democrate.. I vote on who I feel is best for the country. I Voted for Bush the first time, not the second.  Voted for Obama, but I was on the fence between our choices during the election...

Marriage: No issues with gay folks getting married. If your happy, you find someone (legal age and all that jazz of course), then good luck!  I will also say, im not religious, so that doesnt come into play in my thinkng.

Abortion: I think its the parents/doctors decision, not mine.

Immigration: Have to play by the rules. You want into our country, follow the rules.  I am in favor for a guest worker status, but the sherrif here in AZ already has issues rounding up people here illegally, so im not sure how that would even be implemented.

Death Penality:  Im not sure it deters anything.  I think plenty of people should not walk the face of the earth, but prison seems like the best choice.  Not that prison deters them either...lol

Education: I would gladly have my taxes raised so we could pay teachers more, raise the education levels, provide updated text books, materials, computers, etc.  I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way, show the....ok, ill stop.

Military:  I was pro Afganistan, since 9/11 was directly caused by that governments actions.  I was Anti Iraq.  We had a no fly zone in place, we had them contained, and in my option, North Korea, Iran, Syria, etc were more of a direct threat to us.  I have no issue flexing our military muscle, but we need to flex it in the right area.  I also don't believe in being the worlds police.  The world is a scary, unkind place, I understand that, but we need to protect our own backyard first.

Health Care:  Sweet jesus, what to do??? I know I pay more now for my health care than I did 2 years ago. Not a fan of that.  I know I have less choices, also not a fan.  But every administration has tried to "fix" health care and it hasn't been able to.  Nobody in this country should suffer because they can't afford treatment (the whole taking care of our own backyard again).  Does that mean the government steps in?  Not sure they can.  But Im stumped as well.  I try to listen to both sides, but it turns more into "Your plan sucks" followed by "your plan sucks" and its difficult to filter out what is best for the country.  I could care less who comes up with it, but people dying because they dont have healthcare to me is a terrible option.

Environment: Look, I live in Phoenix, Az.  Its hotter than hell here.. It was 100 in October.  If years and years of aquanet caused tempatures to rise and we can prove it, then i'll find the band Poison and any other 80's hair metal band and punch the singer in the nuts. But again, for ever scientist that says "Global Warming", there is a another one who says "Nope, not true".  So, my thoughts are we should have cleaner energy.  We should NOT be dependent on Foreign Oil.  If that displaces a bird or a bear because we drill by them, tough shit.  We should take care of the planet because its the right thing to do.  I dig this place, i'd like to stay.  If we can make the air cleaner, the water cleaner, etc, im all for it.

Guns: I dont have one, not interested in them at all.  But if someone passes a background check, they shoot away.  Guns don't commit crimes, peeps do.  Not sure taking them away is any more of a deterent than the prisons or death penality.  Mean people will suck regardless of how they commit the crime.

Ok, I think im done now.. Happy Friday everyone!

21  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Awesomely Bad Movies on: October 20, 2009, 03:36:41 AM
The Dark Backward for me was the greatest worst movie ever made...I think this quote from IMDB sums it up:

"If you like this movie you deserve to die.  Why this movie has above a 1.0 is beyond me. It was so horrible, and I wish painful deaths on all those involved. I want the writers to eat poison."

In case you don't know what its about, A garbage man played by Judd Nelson pursues stand-up comedy encouraged by his fellow garbage man. Though his friend, who accompanies him on accordion, continues to tell him how great he is, he actually stinks. When the "comedian" grows a third arm out of his back, the friend uses this twist to get him signed up with a sleazy talent agent, who happens to be Wayne Netwon..   Seriously, I can't make this up.
22  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: UFC 100: GSP vs Alves, Lesnar vs Mir on: August 03, 2009, 10:46:43 PM
Yeah, Fedor was never going to sign with UFC.. Since M1-Global is demanding to co-promote all of Fedors fights with UFC, there was no way that was ever going to work.   Can't say I blame them.  Casual fans have no idea who Fedor is, the dude can't draw PPV buys, and the Lesnar/Mir fight did in the range of 1.7 million PPV buys.   UFC doesn't need him.

I really think Machida is going to frustrate Rashad in this fight.   The guy has a style that is just so different from any of the other fighters Rashad has faced.  He may not be the most exciting fighter to watch if your looking for KO's, but Machida can outpoint you to death.  He keeps his distance and score points with his kicks.  Its crazy impressive.   However, the winner gets to face Rampage next... THAT will be fun smile

26  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [Review] Guitar Hero: Metallica on: March 30, 2009, 05:06:10 PM
The thing I really love is how interactive the band is, as Knight pointed out in his review.  During Dyers Eve, it was like watching a Metallica performance.  James was pointing to the crowd,  and during the "Hear nothing, say nothing lyrics", James covered his ears... another point he covered his eyes.  It was pretty awesome.

My only complaint, and its minor, is the ammount of pyro they shoot off during every song.  Honestly, Tuesdays Gone from Skynyrd is a ballad, yet they shot off more fire and sparks than at an entire Kiss concert.  It was almost comical....."Tuesdays....**BOOOOM*  Gone.....*BOOOM*  with the *BOOOM*  Wind....* BOOM...

I listened to the speech last night, and call me naive, drinking cool aid, etc, but Obama just inspires hope in me.  Im neither Dem or Rep, so im willing to give any person a chance until they prove to me otherwise.  I was the same way with Bush.   I want Obama to succeed, for so many obvious reasons.  Just hope both sides can stop playing politics and put the country first.

Good CD, the thing rocks.  Nickelback is a guilty pleasure of mine (Since I tend to like ultra heavy bands).  I can totally tell the produce from Def Leppard did the CD though.  Its got a total 80's rock, giant chant along chorus thing going for it.  Its actually kind of cool, suprising since I hate def leppard..lol

Maybe im off (ok..i know I am), but I really liked Clone Wars.  I took my 6 year old daughter (who loves all 6 Star Wars movies...but is partial to the new trilogy) and I agree, Lucas made this for kids.  But it was such a blast watching her reaction, and it was just a fun movie, that i was great with it.  Check your brain at the door and just go with it.  I love Star Wars, but he makes these for kids (hence the marketing and the toys).  And since im a big kid, I dig them too.  So Clone Wars is a day 1 purchase for me (and her).
