OK. I just don't get this game. I bought it and have played four levels. Running through a flower field collecting pedals to get to the end of a flowers dream. yes it is pretty and the music is relaxing, but I feel bored. My wife actually said twice 'what the hell are you playing, I don't get it, you are playing with flowers'.
I will give it another go tomorrow, maybe i am missing something.

I know you can easily backup saved games (assuming you have a USB storage device of some sort or a SD/CF card (if your PS3 model has that feature)). Downloaded content I think works the same way (just copy it somewhere else and put it back on when you're done). But honestly I've never tried it.
thanks. I will try and back up the games and see what happens. I don't have much to loose. Just worried about pain, I have some buddies that love playing the game and don't want to loose a good party game. .

Anybody follow this guide or install a different flavor of Linux?
I am thinking about installing linux on my PS3. It would be great to use it for a PC on the tv with a better web browser than what the PS3 has and the other features I will get with a full OS. I am not worried about losing saved games, from what I read you have to format the drive. But... I don't want to lose some games I have downloaded. Does anybody know if I will have to redownload them or if they can be backed up?

Anyone have experience with these with 1gb vs 2gb? Does it make a significant difference (yes, I realize it is only 20 bucks).
I have 1gb with Windows XP and don't see a need to upgrade to 2gb. For what the netbook does and can do, I don't see a need to upgrade so far.

I have a ipod touch 1g and love it. I use it for watching movies, podcast, vnc to my desktop, email, shazam (music app), games, and music plus a bunch of other apps I have got from the apple apps store. It has been a great device because of all the apps you can get from the apple apps store. I don't read much on it because it is hard on my eyes. The web browser is great and can do more than any other mobile device I have seen, but I don't use it much - it is hard to read with all the zooming and scrolling, but has gotten me to a site quick when I want to view something.
I think the one I have is 8gb and I don't fill it up. The podcast automatically delete when a new one comes in (this is a setting).
I would recommend anybody to get one that likes gadgets with future apps that will be coming and does not want to have a cell phone contract or go with AT&T for cell phone service. Just take a look at the app store and look for something you would be interested in and I bet you will find it.
The 2 gen has some features that I wish mine had, volume buttons, speaker, and I think a mic.
Any specific questions let me know.

360 Tournament Update
If you haven't resolved your round 1 matchup yet please try your best to do so by the end of Sunday. Monday morning I'll post the next round of pairings.
Also, we have one person, Ralph-Wiggum, who asked to be in the tournament after we got things going. He's going to get a bye for round 1, and from there on out there will be a 0 point "Bye" entrant to be assigned to a randomly selected lowest rated player each round. No one will get more than one bye round.
Me and 1Dgaf have our match set for 5pm EST on sunday. The time difference was the main reason for the late time, and me time to practice. Just want to let you know that it will get done. Not sure about this 0 point for the lowest rated player.. don't want it to be me.

I can only speak for the one I have, asus eee 1000he.. And I like it. It is not the lightest from what I have seen in stores but I went for battery life and a 10 inch screen. It handles web applications great and office programs from what I have tried, don't try much more - I did a very little review about you can read in the ultra portable thread. But it has taken a beating, I have told my self and my wife don't worry about throwing it around and we have. The screen is bright, runs a long time, the keyboard is responsive, and the mouse keys are in the right place (this bothered me about the acer one).
As far as what blackjack said about the shift key, the left one is regular size to the keyboard but the right is smaller, not to small.
I recommend the asus 1000he if you want it for the reasons I did. But no matter what you choose they are great. Nothing better than pulling out a small notebook/netbook and looking something up or typing up a a doc. We even installed microsoft streets with the gps on it and use it for trips now.
if you have any questions about this model let me know, I will try to answer them.

wow was I disappointed today when I went to get the games and found out it was 800 points per game. I should have probably read more before, but I was excited it was a couple games I could play with my wife. But for that price I will skip.

more impressions:
So far I have been disappointed, but happy. I think I expected the asus eee to do more than it can.
When downloading something and trying to copy another file from a shared computer it would lock up. I think this might have just been me trying to do to much when setting it up, but it happened multiple times. I have come to learn it can do one task, and do that well. I think I need to get my mind around it is for web/email/and maybe a simple program - I am never going to try and develop on it.
For a little machine that can be thrown around and surf the web, check email and simple stuff like that it is great with light weight and small screen. It is nice to have a computer on my lap without it getting hot or feel like it gets in the way. It has been great when playing lotro I can use it on the side to look something up if I need to.
I loaded microsoft streets and trips with the gps and it worked great for a gps/navigator while I was taking a trip today. It was small enough for my wife to have it in her lap and tell me where to go or show me with out it getting in the way.
The keyboard has taken some getting use to. It is like the apple computers, I think they call it cricket keyboard. My fingers are getting used to it, but I hit a lot of wrong keys - it is getting better. The touch pad and mouse buttons are something that I really do not like. The buttons are hard to push, the touch pad is very sensitive - this is not turned off. It supposedly has multi touch capability but I have no interest because it is constantly clicking when I don't want it to. Turning off the the touch pad features but movement has helped, now I only have to click the keys.
Where it has really excelled is on battery life. I tried to run it down one day and had to go to bed before it finished. I used it on and off at work all day, when I go home it was at about 60% battery. Then I watched about 3 hours of flash videos from revision 3 (not sure if the flash site matters). Next I will try with a ripped dvd or with the dvd player plugged in to see the times I get.
In the end I am more happy than disappointed. I haven't tried the camera or mic, I just don't use that stuff.

I just got my asus eee 1000HE today and am posting on it now. So far this thing is great but I only have about 40 min on it.
It is a little heavier than I expected and typing isn't as easy as I thought it would be. The screen is great, the way the 6 cell battery fits is great - no big battery hanging out the back or underneath. I loaded a few programs and it went good. My wife thinks it is cute and good for around the house but hates the keyboard.
I loaded MS map program to try tomorrow on my way to work to see how it works as a pc/gps system - the 2009 version has a speech version, we will see how it works.
more impressions to come after I have used it for a while.

Wow. all this competitive pricing I might just wait to see who comes in with the best price.
In seriousness I think a fair price would be $10 plus shipping from what I have seen on ebay and craigslist. But from what I remember of the game it is worth $45,000. we will see when I play it again.

Now I need to find a nice usb DVD drive to go with it that will get power from the usb port so I can watch movies on a plane. Any recommendations?
Whatever you buy, I highly recommend that you instead rip said movie to your HD before you leave on your flight - even with this model's battery life, powering a DVD drive via USB will drain it fast. Plus it's one more thing to put on those fold-down trays - it's not like they have a ton of room to begin with. Additionally, here's Newegg's listing of external DVD drives. I know that when I bought mine, I got it on some steal via Best Buy (there's a link/image of it somewhere in these posts). It worked out great for me. I felt dumb when I read that. I should have thought about ripping them first. thanks.

Well I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a ASUS 1000HE. I went with it because of the long battery life, and what looks to be a nice keyboard. The 10 inch screen seems to make a difference to me, I would like a higher resolution but I got tired of waiting for dell and hp to come out with it.

Picked this up for $6 at Biglots and figured I would give it another go at that price. which servers are you al lplaying on and how is the population of said servers?
Great to hear you picked it up. I am on Elendilmir in Scraper's guild and having a great time. I am still low level(20) to join them on quest, but the game seems to have a much more mature player base then WoW when I tried it. The population on the server seems to be good, not over crowded, but people around all the time. If you get on Elendilmi look me up under the name Nekim.

Nekim - Level 3 Champion
Server: Elendilmir
Is anything happening on Elendilmir with GT?
Blackjack and I are both on there. Look me up as Hanton. We're in separate guilds, but I like mine pretty well. It's a casual guild with friendly people who are usually willing to help out if they can. While its not a huge guild there is almost always someone on and at peak times there are usually several people on. Look me up in game if you need anything. I am now at level 16 and enjoying the game. Seems like WoW with a different skin. Scraper can you invite me to your guild? I think it is time to join one because some group quest are starting to become the norm and people that I do a fellowship with always disband after a quest is complete. I see you on all the time but I am fairly low level compared to you so I don't send message. I haven't seen blackjack on much. Sure can, what times are you usually on. I will make it a point to look you up tonight. I will try to get on tonight. If not I am usually on 2 times a week in the afternoon or during the day on weekends.

Keep it and play it you will be amazed at what a great gaming system it is! I have had mine for over 2 years with no problems so far.
The games on it are great, the multiplayer is great, and my wife playes a few games on it with me.
Enjoy it and not worry about if it will fail. My biggest grip has been people not buying it because they are worried about it failing with teh RROD. With a 3 year warranty I would not worry.

Thanks for the info. I heard from a little bird that the Acer One is going to drop in price 50 to 100 dollars in the next couple weeks. From reading all the threads that is the one I think I would go with, with what is available currently at the price point. With that price I would get that now and look at what is better in the future!!
I still want the sony though.

I am finally looking at getting one of these netbooks. But I am stuck on what to get. The one I think I would like is not out yet, the HP 2140 – it looks nice, but is a little heavy. Anybody know when this is supposed to come out?
I have looked at the acer one and it looks great, but I think I might want a higher resolution. Don’t know for sure, might not be able to see the screen on a 9 inch with higher resolution. Another good one looks like the Samsung NC10 , but I don’t see many reviews from users about it. The new sony looks very very nice also, but I am leery of it at the price and size.
Reading through the threads on netbooks got me even more confused. What would you guys recommend for someone who wants for the purpose of email, web, picture viewing, movie watching, and possibly a little programming based on what you have used? Is there something new coming out or price drops that you think I should wait for?
This happens everytime I go to get something. I spend days, weeks just looking at what is out there and confusing myself on what I want.
