That could be the motto at All Around Pizzas and Deli, a Virginia Beach, Va., pizza shop offering 15% discounts to customers who show up with their guns or their concealed-carry permits.

Owner Jay Laze, who was looking for a way to boost sales, said he heard about a frozen yogurt shop in Utah doing a bring-a-gun, get-a-discount deal and decided to, well, give it a shot.

“The news made it all the way to Virginia,” Laze said. “And I wondered why nobody here was doing it.”

Since he started the deal Friday, Laze said, he's seen about six times as many customers as usual and an array of guns — the first customer brought in an AK-47.

He’s also had to answer a flurry of phone calls. By Tuesday afternoon, he said, 45 people had called to say they liked the idea, and three had called to complain.

Josh Sugarmann, executive director of the Washington D.C.-based Violence Policy Center, told the Los Angeles Times that he’s opposed to gun-themed marketing. (In a similar approach, several companies offered love-and-gun-themed marketing for Valentine's Day.)

“I think it’s insensitive,” said Sugarmann, a native of Newtown, Conn., where a gunman opened fire at an elementary school in December, killing 20 children and six school staffers.

No one who has come into the shop has complained, Laze said, adding that some customers told him it “actually feels more safe” with guns there.

Hulu Plus has been awesome, even more so than Netflix IMO.

Most of the shows I watch - Arrow, Revolution, The Following, Nikita, Vampire Diaries, WWE Monday Night Raw, and now Cult are all current on Hulu. They have a movies section as well but all old stuff.

There are shows on Hulu Plus I've never even heard of - current ones and mini episodes (like Shinobi Girl) always seem to be finding new stuff in the Hulu catalog.

Saw Crisis 3 at Target today. Almost bit the bullet, but it's hard to justify $59.99 for a new game (or any game really) when you know it'll be down at least $10 in a week or two.

There are a few Republicans he does like, though, including Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY). Asked about Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Beck said he hasn’t quite made up his mind. And straight-talking New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie? Beck used to like him, but now, not so much.

But back to the Tea Party, O’Reilly questioned whether it can “recapture its mojo knowing that the press hates it?” What the press thinks doesn’t matter, Beck replied. Anyone who stands up for small government, he added, can have success (though some of those pesky, “strange” libertarians are a different story).

“I am sure that the Republicans will become less and less relevant as every day that goes by,” Beck asserted. “They’re becoming — if they’re not already — the Whig Party.”

If the economy is bad, O’Reilly argued, they could have a viable 2016 candidate. Beck wasn’t convinced, going after Republicans who have felt the need to become more moderate. Cutting spending is moderate!

O’Reilly noted it’s about leadership — and segued into discussing the Department of Agriculture “hiring a guy from Massachusetts to be politically correct” (referring to “diversity awareness trainer” Samuel Betances).

With that, Beck was off: “This government, under Barack Obama, is hiring people to teach people how to be racist.”

A Belarusian border guard was sentenced to two years in prison Monday for failing to report a border crossing by a Swedish plane that parachuted hundreds of teddy bears into the country carrying pro-democracy protest messages.

The sentence was announced by the Belarusian Supreme Court, which said the unnamed officer would be sent to a maximum-security facility, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported.

I'm liking Nevea (sp?) she's turned into a beast. 

Hate thinking about this being the final season as there aren't any other shows like it out there. Hopefully they'll spin something off, maybe one with Julius Caesar's rise to power.

Blitz Brigade will be a free-to-play multiplayer game on iOS and Android, and looks pretty epic so far to say the least. You’ll have five character classes to choose from, tons and tons of weapons (probably upgrades you can earn or buy) and will be based on the freemium gaming model. We’ll let you decide for yourself how close this looks to Team Fortress 2.

Gameloft describes their new game as an action-packed game full of team-based FPS-mayhem. You’ll be able to pound your enemies into the dirt and call them mean names. Set in WWII, Blitz Brigade is a team-based shooter featuring different player classes, tons of vehicles, and multiple gameplay modes will be available. Gameloft will also offer single player challenges and more, all using their unique cartoon characters. The single player mode should also be a lot of fun and a nice way to earn additional weapons and level-ups. Gameloft will be revealing more details soon. We can’t wait to play this one. Gameloft has been putting out some console-quality games as of late. Modern Combat 4 is probably the best game I've played on Android. Even when the PS Vita is struggling to get 8 players in a game (Black Ops) Gameloft has been pushing online multiplayer games for Android and iOS with 12 players for some time now.

Adding vehicles and classes to the mix, plus free to play, is putting this at the top of my wanted list for Android games.

Why couldn't they have gone the extra step and made it a phone instead?

The Xperia Play is sorely needing a successor.. and it's the only one of it's kind to date.

Nvidia had the perfect opportunity to pick up where the Play left off at. Our phones go everywhere, and am still waiting for that 'all-in-one' device that's going to take the throne from the Play, that IMO is still the best gaming phone thanks to it's built-in game pad. (Even if it's specs are out dated.)

Started out disliking Vampire Diaries (beginning of season 1) and now on to season 4, all the way to the current episode, I think I can honestly say VD is my favorite show. Even more than Jupiter's Cock, which comes in a close second.

The show could use a new villain or two though to keep things interesting. Klaus being the only "bad guy" for so long has become too predictable. And I'd hardly call Shane a villain.

Action film star Steven Seagal, who racks up big body counts in his on-screen battles with bad guys, took on a new role on Saturday, training posse volunteers for controversial Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio in how to use guns to protect schools in shooting incidents.

Arpaio, who styles himself as "America's Toughest Sheriff," enlisted Seagal to train his Maricopa County posse members at a school in Fountain Hills, a suburb northeast of Phoenix, with children used as stand-ins for scared students.

Seagal, a burly martial arts expert turned actor, guided 48 volunteers through various aspects of responding to a shooting, including room-to-room searches, and critiqued their work.

"I am here to try to teach the posse firearms and martial arts to try to help them learn how to respond quicker and help protect our children," Seagal said.

Arpaio, whose tough stances on crime and illegal immigration have made him a national figure, has dispatched the volunteer posse to patrol schools in response to the shooting rampage that killed 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut school in December.

I think the lack of DVD / blu-ray playback combined with developers saying how underpowered the Wii U is and of course it's high starting price (money saved from the lack of a HD, of course!) means I'm skipping this one.

The Wii U’s CPU is slower than those inside both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, according to a Tecmo Koei developer.

Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper producer Akihiro Suzuki admitted to Eurogamer at the Tokyo Game Show that the Wii U version of his game had a lower frame-rate and fewer on-screen enemies as a result.

"One of the weaknesses of the Wii U compared to PS3 and Xbox 360 is the CPU power is a little bit less," he said.

"So for games in the Warriors series, including Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi, when you have a lot of enemies coming at you at once, the performance tends to be affected because of the CPU.

"Dealing with that is a challenge."

Maybe the protests had some effect after all..

Fast food company, Chick-fil-A, have confirmed that they will no longer fund anti-equal marriage groups, and sent a statement of respect for people of all sexual orientations.

Back in July, Dan Cathy, COO of Chick-Fil-A said that the company were against equal marriage rights for gay people. He told the Baptist Press that the company was “guilty as charged”, when asked about its perceived opposition to equal marriage.

Joe Moreno, an alderman who represents Chicago’s Logan Square neighbourhood, had previously said he would use his aldermanic privilege to block the restaurant’s permit. This meant city council members would have to defer to aldermen on local matters.

The Civil Rights Agenda today confirmed, in a press release, that Alderman Moreno, had finished negotiations with Chick-fil-A, and that the company had agreed to stop funding charities with a political agenda, including those opposed to equal marriage.

While a part of me is with the cynics feeling "underwhelmed" by iPhone 5, I have to stop and ask myself just what the heck is it I was hoping for or expecting.  I mean at this point, seriously, what is it that people are wanting in a new phone (or iPhone specifically)?  Make the size too much larger and people will complain it's too big, change the entire icon system and people will complain about fixing something that wasn't broken, etc etc.  At this point unless it shoots lasers or reaches out and gives you a handjob, I'm not quite sure what incredible feature you could add to a phone in this sort of general form factor.

We're talking about a mature product that people already love, so why change it away from the fundamentals of what made it popular to begin with?  From a pure engineering standpoint, I again challenge anyone to find another product that in less than a year doubles its graphics and processing speeds while increasing screen size (and resolution) while maintaining battery life and actually getting physically lighter/thinner.  Not to mention all the other "minor" improvements to the camera, sound, antenna, LTE, etc.

I suppose it really is just a matter of perspective, I think our expectations (including my own) at this point are perhaps too unrealistic.

There's a number of things Apple could have added.

- Expandable memory card. Of course including built-in memory is one of apple's cash cows, but it'd be nice to be able to add my own 32gb or 64gb card like I can with any of my Android phones.

- 3D support. While the HTC EVO 3D didn't blow anyone out of the water, it was a nice feature to play around with. It should be there as an option. If you like 3D, you have the option to use it.. and if you don't, nothing changes just keep it off, sort of like the 3DS.

- HDMI port. Becoming pretty standard on most recent high-end Android phones. Still waiting for iPhone to catch up. (Yes I know they are working on an "adapter" but it'd be nice to have standard HDMI out of the box instead of all these proprietary formats they keep making money off of instead of going with the industry standard.)

- 12MP (or higher) camera. With the break down cost of the iPhone 5 running less than $200, would it really hurt for a higher mega pixel camera? The Sony ion runs $99 and has it, plus all the other bells and whistles of a high-end smartphone.

 - Ability to use voice and data at the same time like all the Android CDMA LTE phones have supported for some time now.

- A call "block" feature whether in the phone itself or allow a third party to be able to build one without having to jailbreak it. Call block apps have been standard for years now on windows mobile and android.

All the while he's been living comfortably off of American tax payers for the past 30 years while most of us are out struggling to make ends meat in the real world.

Gotta love American justice.

The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) has put up a series of billboard advertisements reading “Obama…Oy Vey!!” in South Florida Jewish communities in an effort to sway voters in that critical swing state.

Placed in Florida’s Broward and Palm Beach counties, the billboards also ask “Had enough?” and feature the RJC’s MyBuyersRemorse.com website, which includes videos of Jewish voters who chose Barack Obama in 2008 and talk about how they regret their decision.

“There is a strong sense of buyer’s remorse among Jewish voters, who are disappointed and disillusioned with President Obama and the job he has done in the last 3 ½ years,” RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said in a statement Tuesday. “We’re helping those people give voice to their feelings.”

 

A GOP-controlled board in Kansas is trying to decide whether to remove President Obama from the state ballot over objections about his birth certificate.

The State Objections Board -- consisting of three of the state's top Republican elected officials -- ruled Thursday it did not yet have enough information and postponed a decision until Monday.

"I don't think it's a frivolous objection," Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach told the Topeka Capital-Journal. "I do think the factual record could be supplemented."

Obama has long battled questions about the authenticity of his birth certificate and the legitimacy of his presidency. He released his long-form birth certificate, showing that he was born in Hawaii, in August 2011. At the time, Obama said he was trying to end the "silliness" that has been sparked by people known as "birthers" who doubt he was born in the United States.

Switch to T-Mobile's 'pay as you go' plan. For an absolutely minimum plan (like I am), you can get 100 minutes, unlimited text, and unlimited data (5GB/month), for $30 a month. Problem is that you have to bring your own phone (so you'll have to pay full price for whatever you want to own), but you'll quickly make it back in drastically reduced monthly fees.

Why I'm highly debating on dropping Sprint whenever my contract ends, buying a nice phone outright (like an iPhone), and then saving $50 a month on my cell plan.

And Blackjack, I've heard nothing but good things about visiting Apple stores if you happen to have any problems with your iPhone (especially assuming you have a warranty). Honestly, if I owned an iPhone, I'd visit them first with any problems verses the carrier you have your phone with.

I just recently dropped Sprint and went with Virgin Mobile (sprint prepaid basically) you can get 300 minutes, unlimited text and data (throttled after 2.5GB) on an iPhone for $30.

These days with being able to use just about any phone on prepaid, it gets harder and harder to justify a 2 year contract at twice (or more) the cost.

A Republican appointed to the Electoral College, Melinda Wadsley was expected to cast her vote for Mitt Romney if he won the state of Iowa in the presidential election.

Wadsley decided Thursday she couldn't in good conscience vote for Romney _ she had backed Ron Paul during the GOP primary _ and resigned to allow the Iowa GOP to choose someone else for that duty.

"I have always been a straight-ticket Republican, and for the first time in my life I am an undecided voter, therefore, I need to resign my position as a Republican presidential elector," Wadsley said in an email exchange with The Associated Press.

Iowa GOP Chairman A.J. Spiker said in a statement Thursday that the state party's central committee would begin the process of selecting a replacement, essentially allowing the party to confirm a die-hard Romney supporter.

A mother of three in Ames, Wadsley was one of three electors featured in an AP story published early Thursday that noted some GOP electors were unsure they would vote for Romney if he won their states on Nov. 6. They had expressed frustration at how Republican leaders have worked to suppress Paul's conservative movement and his legion of loyal supporters.

"They've never given Ron Paul a fair shot, and I'm disgusted with that," Wadsley told the AP for the story that preceded her resignation. "I'd like to show them how disgusted I am."

I also liked Ron Paul, but not sure what she means he never got a fair shot. The voters chose Romney and he beat the others, including Paul, out.

I finally picked this up. Still $199.99 at Best Buy, they had 7 or 8 in stock. If you're lucky enough sometimes they have "open box" versions for $149.99.

Everything from the box to the monitor itself this thing looks awesome! It works fine for 2D, and 3D is a nice bonus. I didn't notice much of a glare at all.
So far have tried SOCOM 3 in 3D, which was fun but not sure it's something I'd use all the time.

Haven't had the chance to try a 3D movie yet.

According to the box you can use it as a computer monitor as well. Haven't tested that either as my ancient computer lacks an HDMI port.

Over all it was worth $200, IMO.

I look at this thing and a a see a repackeged Wii with a touchscreen controller. Also 8GB?? So much for a digital future from Nintendo.

Graphics are far better than Wii.

As for the memory size, if they allow SD cards (not sure if they will or not, but you would think they would so that people can get their stuff from the Wii), then the built-in size doesn't matter.

SD cards? really? How about they use this thing called a hard drive. I hear they work pretty well for storage.

Same reason they didn't include blu-ray or DVD playback. Although with the money they saved by skipping out on a pretty much necessary feature of any entertainment system they should have been able to pass those savings on to the consumer.

Honestly, unless you have a lot of money to throw around, I don't know why anyone would choose the Wii U when they could get the PS3 for $50 - $100 less which adds a 3D blu-ray player, dvd playback, and a hard drive. (Not to mention the more established HD game library.)
I still have friends at work who have tried putting dvd's in their wii's only to find out it won't play them.

I want to like Nintendo, but they always seem to be two steps behind the competition when it comes to delivering hardware.

The man who produced the film, which is said to have led to the deadly protests in Libya and became the reason of death of the US Ambassador Chris Stevens, has gone into hiding, but remains unrepentant for releasing his film, says a report.

Sam Bacile, who wrote, directed and produced the two-hour film ‘Innocence of Muslims’, also reportedly called Islam ‘a cancer’ and vowed to release further films about the religion.

Bacile, who described himself as an Israeli Jew, is said to live in California where he works in real estate.

According to the Telegraph, he claimed the film cost 3.3 million dollars to make and was financed with the help of over 100 Jewish donors.

He added that he had worked with 60 actors and 45 crew members to make the film in a three-month period last year in California.

Bacile said that far from apologising, he intends to make further films on the subject.

“My plan is to make a series of 200 hours” about the same subject,” he told a US-based news agency.

I guess it all depends on what you read.. it was reported some time ago that the AL-qaeda flag was flying in Benghazi so the already existing Anti-American sentiment (nevermind  that we just "liberated" them) was just further fueled by the new video mocking Mohammad.  I think the video in question might warrant it's own thread but the news bot has been behind on it.

U.S. ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens was killed by a "small and savage group" of Libyan militants who stormed the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said today.

 Stevens, 52, died Tuesday night as 20 gun-wielding attackers descended on the U.S. consulate, firing automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades, Libya's Deputy Interior Minister Wanis al-Sharif told a news conference in Benghazi.

 Nearly a dozen Americans were inside the consulate at the time, guarded by Libyan security. For nearly 20 minutes the Libyan guards exchanged fire with the attackers, who hurled a firebomb inside.

 The militants burned down at least one building in the attack.

 It's not clear yet how Stevens died, but the Associated Press quoted a Libyan doctor who said the ambassador died of asphyxiation, apparently from smoke. The doctor, Ziad Abu Zeid, told the AP he worked for 90 minutes to revive Stevens.

How fast people can forget the U.S. put it's lives and money on the line to protect Benghazi not so long ago. Good to see freedom of speech and religious freedom are alive and well in Libya.

One could argue the PS3 version will be the only truly free version.

Consoles have been late to board the free-to-play train. However, another game has joined the ranks of Happy Wars for Xbox 360 and Dust 514 for PS3: Spartacus Legends.

Ubisoft announced today that the fighting game based on the Starz TV series will be free-to-play for both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Gold users.

Little late to the game, but have to say I've been pretty underwhelmed by Counter-Strike on PS3. Sure it has mouse/keyboard support and better graphics compared to the last time I've played.. but it just doesn't "feel" like Counter-Strike anymore.
I've had more fun with Modern Combat Domination ($7.99 on PSN) than this.

The bot AI leaves a lot to be desired. What happened to the awesome AI from Condition Zero and Source? If you are on the terrorist team, why do you ALWAYS get the bomb at each round?

I still have Counter-Strike for original Xbox and enjoyed that much more despite the outdated graphics. The AI was good enough for me to keep it in my collection even after Microsoft killed the online support. (Another reason why FPS's should include bots.)

Haven't ventured online yet, not even sure if I'm going to fire it up again at all though.

I'd highly recommend cutting your cost in half and getting Modern Combat Domination instead. Now that still feels like classic Counter-Strike!

Romney has a lot of catching up to do, but I think a lot of people who voted Obama in 08 aren't ready to give him another 4 years. (Myself included.)

With our debt passing 16 Trillion (so much for him cutting the deficit in half) and no end in sight, we can't afford to keep going down this road of spending money we don't have.

That's not to say I'm going to vote for Romney, but someone like Gary Johnson is a definite possibility.

Android has NOVA 3 and Modern Combat 3 for 99 cents on Google Play as an end of summer special, so I'm assuming it's the same price on iOS.

Both games have awesome online multiplayer, hard to go wrong at a dollar per game! (NOVA 3 was over a 1GB download)

In his acceptance speech, GOP Vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan appeared to suggest that President Obama was responsible for the closing of a GM plant in Ryan’s hometown of Janesville, Wisc.

That’s not true.  The plant was closed in December, 2008, before Obama was sworn in. But look how Ryan came close to the line in his speech:

“Right there at that plant, candidate Obama said: ‘I believe that if our government is there to support you … this plant will be here for another hundred years.’ That’s what he said in 2008. Well, as it turned out, that plant didn’t last another year. It is locked up and empty to this day.”

Obama gave his speech in February, 2008, and he did say those words. But Ryan’s phrasing, referring to the fact the plant did not last another year, certainly suggests it closed in 2009, when Obama was president.

Firefox for Android has an update to its personalized start screen in that the “Awesome Screen” is now available as well – browsing history, passwords, bookmarks, and form data are all available to you right at the start. This update also allows you to import your personalizations from other devices and interfaces with a feature called Firefox Sync.

What’s perhaps the most exciting element in this whole set of announcements is a new game called BrowserQuest. This game is a cross-platform Firefox-based massively multiplayer adventure that you’ll be able to play on your desktop and with your Android device. Just create a character and begin your quest! Mozilla has created this game to let you see in a rather recognizable way how the web can be a fantastic place to play games!
