Anyone else watch this?

I enjoyed it even though my nose was so stuffed up I couldn't breathe half the time lol.  Well paced and pretty creepy. .I don't see how they can sustain a story like this for an extended period of time, so that will be interesting.

If there are approximately 120 people on base, and they kill off, say 4 or 5 every episode, that should give us enough for 2 seasons. Then at the end of season 2 they send a new batch of people to find out what happened to the last batch, rinse repeat and recycle. It can go on forever!

Hell of a show so far as I'm hooked. Wouldn't have expected anything less from the guy who did Battlestar Galactica.

Maybe he made a series of videos before he died telling his female protege exactly what to do.  Then she will capture Kevin Bacon and Shawn Ashmore and have them chop each others' legs off.

They borrowed a little from 24 in Season 1, so why not some from Saw for Season 2?

Incredible start. Just as good as I had hoped.

Of course they had to get rid of the hot Doctor though.

I figured Joe was dead because Kevin Bacon said he was on Jay Leno at the end of season 1..  but Jay calls him out:

The only two shows I've watched from start to finish were 24 and Battlestar Galactica.

BSG in particular was so damn good I don't think I'd have been able to wait a week just to see what happened next. Was a shame to see it come to an end.

46  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [TV] Black Sails on: January 14, 2014, 06:16:53 AM
Finally a year and a half later.

Starz, for its latest original series, will set sail on its most comprehensive sampling and marketing campaign to date.

Executive-produced by Transformers overseer Michael Bay, Black Sails will make its U.S. linear premiere on Starz on Jan. 25 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). The show, which has already been renewed for a sophomore season, will air in more than 120 countries/territories worldwide.

Prior to the linear launch of the prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island, Starz will engage in a multiplatform sampling initiative and linear preview effort beginning Jan. 18 that encompasses online and on-demand platforms, including traditional multichannel/MVPD afiliates and non-traditional digital partners such as Amazon Instant Video, iTunes Podcasts, Machinima, Maxim and Xbox Video.

Starz's pirate series, Black SailsBuilding on gambits it has deployed to introduce other originals, including DaVinci’s Demons, Magic City and the Spartacus franchise, Starz’s unprecedented flag-waving for Black Sails is aimed at boosting awareness for the show and the brand, viewing and ultimately consumer acquisition of the service.

48  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Steven Seagal says he may run for Arizona governor on: January 05, 2014, 10:17:29 PM
Action-movie star Steven Seagal says he is considering a run for Arizona governor.

The "Marked for Death" actor told KNXV-TV that he is considering a shot at the state's highest office and has had a talk about the bid with the self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in America.

The 61-year-old made the comments while talking about his newly released reality series "Steven Seagal - Lawman: Maricopa County."

Seagal teamed up with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio for the show that was shot in Arizona and airs on cable TV's Reelz Channel.

The martial arts expert is a member of Arpaio's posse, made up of 3,000 unpaid civilians. He also has been deputized with sheriff's offices in New Mexico, Texas and Louisiana and says he wants to increase border security.

I hope not.. not because of politics, but because I like his movies and him being gone for 4-8 years means by the time he gets back to movies again he'll be playing in Grumpy Old Men 3.
Don't need a deju vu of Arnold Schwarzenegger who left Terminator fans hanging.

51  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: Duck Dynasty on: December 21, 2013, 07:19:49 AM
The Stand with Phil Robertson facebook page already has 1.4 million likes.

I'm sure A&E will bring him back, especially with the family saying they can't imagine the show going on without him. They pull in too many viewers to simply pull the plug on the show.

Personally, could care less about Duck Dynasty or what Phil Robertson thinks. He has his own personal views, that he talked about outside of the show and off the air, so who cares if he's a born again Christian who thinks homosexuality is a sin?

When President Obama said he believed marriage was between a man and a woman, that was his own personal belief. (Which has changed it seems.) I don't agree with it, but completely respect his right to think whatever he wants.

Don't like Robertson? Seems like the easiest solution to that is simply to not watch the show. (Which ironically are probably the same ones complaining.) Apparently his supporters like him all the more and aren't going to ditch the show anytime soon. If anything, the opposite has happened.

54  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: Sheriff Joe institutes vegetarian meals for inmates on: November 22, 2013, 04:46:45 PM
Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio has issued a bold threat to any unpatriotic inmates in his jails.

According to CBS5, Arpaio is threatening to put any inmates who deface or vandalize the American flag on a diet of only bread and water. Arpaio told CBS5 10 inmates are already on the bread-and-water diet.

Each cell is getting a sticker of an American flag. Any inmate who vandalizes the flag will be punished with the restricted diet.

In keeping with the patriotic theme, Arpaio has ordered that the playing of God Bless America and the National Anthem be done daily in every jail facility over the public address system and for all the inmates, regardless of national origin, to hear and sing-a-long.

55  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Sex-change parliamentarian is now a lesbian on: November 20, 2013, 06:09:37 PM
Britain's first sex-change parliamentarian has told how she became a lesbian after she was raped.

Former UKIP MEP Nikki Sinclaire, 45, was born a boy but had gender reassignment surgery on the NHS 18 years ago.

Today she revealed how four years after the operation, just as she was beginning to find women attractive, she was raped by a man, and subsequently realised she was a lesbian.

Miss Sinclaire said that she had begun to feel attracted to women shortly before the attack, and had her first sexual experience with a woman with a lesbian she met playing pool in Liverpool.

She said she put the 'scary' idea that she might be attracted to women out of her mind, but said the rape made her 'very anti-men', and contributed to her realising she was a lesbian soon afterwards.

Does that mean she's straight again?

The Governor has a heart after all.

Still thinking he and Carol might team up, two people who try to 'do good' for the rest even if it means people have to get hurt. Shane had that mentality as well. (The massacre aside, anyway.)

65  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Age of Empires 2 HD Announced on: November 09, 2013, 05:47:04 PM
One major AI flaw killed AOE 2 for me that I couldn't even have fun playing it anymore.

Anytime a computer player sent an army across the map - they kept moving until they got to their destination, not stopping to defend themselves. (No "auto-attack" function.)
You could hack and slice away at their defenseless troops until their was nobody left.

At least AOE 3 fixed that.
66  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: 6 days until launch. Which system are you getting? on: November 09, 2013, 05:43:10 PM
Leaning towards PS4.

Haven't decided yet as sadly neither system supports BC, so it's a fresh start.

PS Plus still seems like a better deal than Live, plus if I choose to be a "free" member I can still play MMO's or use Netflix and Hulu.
67  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / RIP Blockbuster on: November 06, 2013, 07:00:26 PM
Was only a matter time but still sad to see them finally close the last doors.

DISH Network Corporation today announced that its subsidiary, Blockbuster L.L.C., will end its retail and by mail DVD distribution operations by early-January 2014. The company will close its approximately 300 remaining U.S.-based retail stores, as well as its distribution centers.

"This is not an easy decision, yet consumer demand is clearly moving to digital distribution of video entertainment," said Joseph P. Clayton, DISH president and chief executive officer. "Despite our closing of the physical distribution elements of the business, we continue to see value in the Blockbuster brand, and we expect to leverage that brand as we continue to expand our digital offerings."

The Blockbuster By Mail service will end mid-December and will serve existing customers until that time.

Didn't care for Season 1 so much, though I did get around to finishing it.

Season 2 so far, as Exodor mentioned, is a huge improvement over Season 1.

With Monroe being the main bad guy in Season 1, not caring to see him trying to be all 'good' now.

75  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [Movie] Raze on: October 11, 2013, 09:07:01 AM
Set to release on January 10th.

"You should see the other girls." Oh, you haven't heard about this film yet? A wild action/horror indie film called Raze that stars stunt-woman Zoe Bell (who also produced) as well as Rachel Nichols, Tracie Thoms, Sherilyn Fenn, Doug Jones, Bailey Anne Borders, Rebecca Marshall, Adrienne Wilkinson and Allene Quincy. The plot involves 50 women that are kidnapped and held captive and forced to fight to the death. Uh yea, that sounds kind of awesome, and we have a trailer and a poster to prove it. The trailer is old, but the poster is brand new (and it reminds me a bit of the vintage Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! poster art) timed with the upcoming New York Comic-Con premiere. Now you've heard of this film, but will you watch it? You tell us.

76  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Sheriff Joe institutes vegetarian meals for inmates, bread for the unpatriotic on: September 27, 2013, 02:01:43 PM
Get sent to jail in Arizona’s Maricopa County and you’ll be experiencing some serious life changes. And for those who eat meat, that includes going vegetarian.

County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is no stranger to controversy. Over the years, he has made seemingly countless numbers of national headlines. As recently as August, the five-time elected sheriff was in the news after announcing that his deputies would be required to carry firearms at all times, even while off duty.

Arpaio’s latest move is a plan to transition all of his inmates in the county’s eight jails to a vegetarian diet. On the surface, it might sound like a health-conscious move from the 81-year-old lawman. But Arpaio said the change is all about saving the county money.

As part of an effort to publicize the move, Arpaio donned a chef's uniform during a local TV appearance.

“Little by little, this is the first step to go vegetarian,” he told Phoenix affiliate Fox 10. “There will be no more meat on the menu, we’ll save $100,000.”

Wish more Jails would do this. Having worked at several county jails in Florida it's amazing how good the inmates have it courtesy of your tax dollar. No wonder this guy keeps getting re-elected.

Are you investing in them? I am not that brave. Even if they were stronger than they appear to be now, one law change and they tank.

I bought 5,000 shares of GrowLife ("PHOT") a week ago. It's trading at about 5 cents a share. Really don't see it going any less than 4 cents, so even if it never takes off I'm out a few dollars but not a big enough of an investment where I lose everything.
On the other hand, if GrowLife takes off.. PS4 and Xb1 paid off!  A gamble where not much to lose but a lot to gain, IMO.

This is their website:

And they are opening October 1st.
