I liked knowing that Nadia was at least alive and well and that Sayeed was looking for her all this time. A great episode, but this I'm not too sure of. Unless Sayid was lying to the french woman (which is entirely possible, attempting create some kind of bond), he told her that Nadine was dead. I'd thought that perhaps the agents that pulled Sayid out of the line at the airport were there to tell him that Nadine was dead/had died. Sayid got on the plane for his own reasons any way or perhaps to attend HER funeral. Just a guess, but if she's still alive it seems pretty crummy that he would fall in with Shannon just a month after he learns that this idyllic woman was alive.

This bit from a Reuters article: http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=reutersEdge&storyID=6602278"It is very violent (and includes) shooting cops," said Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter. "People like being the bad guy. This is a way of acting out a stupid fantasy."
Pachter adds that Microsoft's "Halo 2" is "every bit as violent, but the things that you are shooting don't look like people. They look like space suit guys." Because it's perfectly okay to shoot astronauts!! Oh nos John Glenn!!1!1

Thanks for asking for input, KS!
I'm very curious as to the depth of the conversation trees. As ex-Fallout folk, I'm hoping for that style (stats and skills affect conversation options) and I fear a more Neverwinter Nights Out-Of-The-Box system - Basically a good and bad choice.
Also, will we feel we are in a true urban environment or led by the nose on a terminally linear path.
Thanks again,

For the record, he's NOT a replicant and the only real version of that movie was the original WITH the voice over!!! :x I liked some of the voice-over (Sure wish I had that version on tape as well for completionist purposes!) but, god, that sappy happy happy ending (with footage ripped from The Shining, no less) is best burned and buried!

Another "clue" that I believe has since been discounted regards the fact that there seems to be one replicant missing from the group Deckard is hunting and it became believed that HE was the missing one, "reprogrammed" or some such. I don't recall how, but this was explained away by either an altering of a scene in the DC or simple math error on the part of hopeful fans. EDIT: Looked it up - There was originally going to be another replicant ("Betty) but she was cut out. Bryant's line of how many replicants were left was a mistake based on an older version of the script. If nothing else, Deckard sure takes a HELL of a lot of punishment thoughout the film - certainly by normal human standards.

Blade Runner is one of my favorites - in both the geek and non-geek way, as you put it.
As well, it took years of rewatching and, basically, growing up for all of the themes you have talked about to really sink in. And that's what I say makes a great film.
As for the Decard replicant / not a replicant issue - I glean the most enjoyment from...not knowing. The most rare and remembered films, for me at least, are those that, upon viewing, you know there are facets that are left to you to evaluate for yourself, rather than being spelt out for you after the climatic car chase at the end. Actually I was pretty bitter when R. Scott announced a bit back that "Of course, Deckard's a replicant. I always planned that." Thanks, but no thanks - I liked you better before you pull a pseudo Lucasinian "Greedo shoots first. I always planned that" decades down the road.
Honestly, I still find new textures, new angles every time I rewatch the movie (which, now that it's brought to my mental fore, I may have to do again tonight); new meaning in the stressing of delivered lines. Am I inventing a lot of the depth in my own mind? Probably. But isn't that what it should be all about?

While you're at it, seek out The Creatures' (Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie from the Banshees) excellent track "Godzilla!"
Quite a fitting tribute!

Thanks for all the responses! Firstly, these are very compact files - 40-60k maximum. Luckily I know how to play the "crunch game." All the sites are normal HTTP sites - I have the wimpy firewall that is included with the stock Win XP package but I have attempted to upload the files both with it activated and shut down. I do have some webspace kicking around so I suppose I'll have to go that route - it just REALLY bugs me not knowing what the solution is! :x

Would anyone have a clue as to what would be keeping me from using the numerous free image hosting sites that are out there (Imageshack, etc.)?
Upon trying to submit an image for hosting, be it jpg, gif or whatever, the page eventually times out. This happens with any site I attempt to use.
Everything works great if I submit from work so I'm a bit stumped. Running Win XP if that helps..

If you like more action orientated RPGs, I'd suggest Dark Cloud 2. The best word I can think of to describe it is "charming." Beautiful graphics, a tonne of side things to do, and just fun to play. The town building aspects are pretty great as well!

In this weeks EB Games Sunday newspaper circular (flier, sales thingy), they have quite a few games on sale for some pretty decent prices... nothing like Fable for 12 bucks - but lots of 10 dollar games.
that's all folks! [/b] I was just coming to mention this - Also! Keep in mind some of the best prices (Call of Duty for PC for $10, etc.) are only good through 10/11, so get crackin'! The flyer can be viewed at http://www.ebgames.com

U.2.K., in an enormous miscalculation, submitted a mammoth post - the complete transcribed work of Monty Python run through an "urban homie" filter. The forums just couldn't handle it.
Luckily (or unluckily - you decide!), Peacedog and Andy have managed to sort through the wreckage and gleaned just this tiny fragment of the abomination:
".......yo, BITCCH! none of ya hatas be expectan da Spanish Inquizzzishooan Possee! OUTz!..."
Horrible, just horrible.

For anyone who's played 1.6 and the new source how is the recoil are they similar? The bullet grouping? The accuracy? Just curious if this is just a graphic port or a whole new game.
Ascendent I can't speak very knowledgeably on these matters, being new to the game ,but while playing I have seen several conversations regarding the recoil being dialed down a bit, so it may be all the parameters have been tweeked.

THANK YOU for providing that link - I never realized there was all that additional information concerning the making of this film on the imdb, though I suppose I should have assumed, considering its notoriety. Wow, interesting - and creepy - accounts! Two confirmed suicides (Including John "Torgo" Reynolds) shortly after filming, filming was done with a silent had-held camera with the voices looped in by 3 'actors' in post, Hal Warren - the director, writer, star - later apparently produced a second script, "Wild Desert Bikers" Oh, if ONLY that vision could have been realized!

Absolutely. Luckily I had only started dabling with CSa few weeks before CS:S was released, so I was still learning the game a far from burnt out as I suspect a lot of olde-timey players are. It's a Blast! I suck! I'm with Gryndyl on all his points - I wasted FAR too much time playing today and am looking forward to firing it up tomorrow as well. I've been having fun converting some of my digital artwork into custom wall sprays as well...funny watching players running by then stop to check out your spray Download now!

Just my not-so-humble-opinion, but the folks who have been here for a while have the place all set up the way they like it, with the couch cushions broken in just right and the radio set to all the stations they like. Why show up and talk about how it should be changed to be the way n00bs like it? Don't be an in-law! My exact point of view, crystalized perfectly by the lovely and talented Mr. Fed. I'm just pleased as punch that there's somewhere for me to turn to for my friendly forum fix in all this confusion!

You know, as happy as I am to have (albiet "butchered" versions thereof) the original Star Wars trilogy in my possession, maybe it would have been a lot smarter on George's part to hold off until the last of the new stuff to release them...
Because, frankly, after rewatching them after having not seen them for a few years, episode III has a pretty huge freakin' mountain to climb in order to be in the same universe with the naive accidental masterpieces that the original Star Wars came to be.
As an aside, my GF and I were talking about this recently and we decided that one huge flaw in the new movies is that there are no foils, no wild cards. The Good Guys (tm) are Good Guys (tm) and the Bad Guys (tm) are Bad Guys (tm). I miss the Han Solos, the Landos. They added a texture to the SW canvas. Heroes in spite of themselves and all that.
ah well, on to episode 3..
