1  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / FS: Flight Sim starter kit on: May 04, 2009, 07:17:30 PM
About a month ago I bought a bunch of flight sim hardware and games figuring I'd give the genre a go, but it just hasn't clicked with me. So I now present to you a super mega awesome box stuff:

1 Logitech Freedom 2.4 Ghz cordless joystick
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Freedom-2-4-Cordless-Joystick/dp/B00006OP9C/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241464214&sr=8-1

1 TrackIR 4 Pro
http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/02-products/product-TrackIR-4-PRO.html

1 TrackClip Pro (attaches to headphones/headset)
http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/02-products/product-TrackClip-PRO.html

Over Flanders Fields (WWI total conversion for Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3 - note, I don't have MSCF3, you need to purchase it seperately)
http://www.overflandersfields.com/

Jane's Longbow 2 - Classic heli simulator, completed boxed version with manuals and reference cards, also includes the official strategy guide. This stuff is old but in ok shape considering it's age

Falcon 4 - binder version with super duper awesome manual

Microsoft Flight Sim X Gold - includes expansion

I'd like to sell this all as a bundle for $180. Shipping in the US will be free.
2  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / DS Games for Sale: Slitherlink, Lunar Knights, Pokemon Dungeon on: April 06, 2007, 03:02:27 PM
Hey guys, have the following DS games for sale. Paypal only, PM me with any questions.

SlitherLink (DS - Japanese Import) - $36 -This game is brand new still in the shrink wrap. Playasia has been sold out of it since Eurogamer posted their 10/10 review. Its a pretty fantastic if you are into logic/puzzle games like sudoku, picross, or kakuro - but in my opinion, its better than all these games combined. I ended up with an extra copy, not trying to make a profit on it, this is what I paid via ebay + shipping from japan.

All other games are in used, in like new condition, complete with box and manual. Price includes first class shipping inside the US.

Lunar Knights (DS) - $20
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (DS) - $20
Megaman ZX (DS) - $20
Lunar Knights (DS) - $20
Mr Driller - Drill Spirits (DS - UK Import) - $25 - The UK version has an extra game mode not included in the US version. Dristone mode is turned based and relies more on strategy than fast playing.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Ultimate Masters: World Championship Tournament 2006 (GBA - cart and manual only) - $18 - gets rid of the crude story and walking around nonsense found in most of the series and focuses strictly on the card game. The AI is top notch for a CCG.

Stuff I would take in trade:

Command and Conquer 3 (PC)
Outrun 2006: Coast2Coast (PS2)
Gradius V(PS2)
Gears of War(360)

the game is much more enjoyable if you treat it as an adventure game with really strange action sequences.
5  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / FS: 360 Premium + Chromhounds + DOA4 + Live Arcade games on: August 02, 2006, 05:06:24 PM
You can add Street Fighter 2 to the list of live arcade games included.

I purchased it this morning during a moment of weakness - wondering if I had made the wrong decision in getting rid of the 360.

Dropping the price to $450 shipping included. Or I would do a straight up trade if anyone wants to swap for a japanese 360 (doubtful).
6  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / FS: 360 Premium + Chromhounds + DOA4 + Live Arcade games on: August 02, 2006, 12:19:57 AM

7  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / FS: 360 Premium + Chromhounds + DOA4 + Live Arcade games on: August 01, 2006, 09:50:17 PM
If anyone wants to make me a reasonable offer feel free (note: knocking a hundred and ten bucks off the prices is not a reasonable offer).

Anyone else who thinks I am charging too much or whatever - you don't see me going in and mucking up your sales threads. I'll just say its rude and leave it at that.

And finnaly, this is more than 12% off retail... double that infact.

$400 system
$120 2 games
$25 vga cable
~$40 in live arcade games
= 585 bucks

plus, shipping is included in the price, and you aren't paying sales tax. I am sure there are better deals out there on ebay, have at them if you like.
8  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / FS: 360 Premium + Chromhounds + DOA4 + Live Arcade games on: August 01, 2006, 03:29:28 PM
Hey guys, I haven't been getting much use out of my 360 so I am hoping to find a better home for it. Everything is in great condition.

1 xbox 360 premium system - hard drive, wireless controller, headset
3rd party vga cable

Dead or Alive 4
Chromehounds

The following Live Arcade are installed on the hard drive. If you format the hd, you will loose the games since they are tied to my account, but live arcade games are also tied to the machine they are installed on until they are deleted.

Geometry Wars
Cloning Clyde
Astro Pop
Mutant Storm
Wik
Robotron
Bankshot Billiards

I would like to get $460 for this shipped. I am only going to leave this offer up for today, at 11 pm it will be moved to ebay (they have reduced listing fees for today only). Feel free to PM me with any questions. Paypal only please.
9  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Somehow this story was ignored in here... on: June 13, 2006, 06:53:31 PM
I've had a PSP since launch and I've gotten alot of enjoyment out of with  Wipeout, Lumines, Ridge Racer, and now Monster Hunter Freedom.

That being said, I own about twice as many DS games. Why?

1) They are 10-15 cheaper than the PSP games, so it make impulse buying much easier.

2) The friggin updates. Out of the last 3 games I bought for the PSP 2 required system updates. That meant plugging my system in and letting it charge for at least an hour before I could update and play my game. This is very unacceptable.

3) Load times. I love monster hunter, but I haven't been playing it as much the past few days because it seems like i spend as much time waiting for it to load as I do playing it. Same thing with wipe out. If I want to play i have to flip through 5 menus before I'm even in the game, then wait to load up a level. Its just a big hassle.

That's right...they did port that to the PSP, didn't they...

They (can't remember their homepage offhand) also make a ton of other PC shooters. Light on the graphics (but more than definitely look great), but very heavy on the gameplay, if you love shooters.

You are probably thinking of ABA games - which is a lone developer -http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/index_e.html

He is not the same person that made every extend.

They have developers tripping over themselves wanting to make live arcade games and this is the best they can fucking do? Two ports of 20+ year old games, an expanded version of a PSP game, and only 2 new titles? I swear, its like microsoft wants to loose another generation. Live arcade is the best thing going on the 360 right now, and its proven that people are more than happy to throw money at it with micropayments. Now if they could just manage to get some content out. In the past few months we've had what? Astro pop? And fucking Uno? Uno? You've got to be shitting me.

I'm still deciding if I want one.  EB/Gamestop is offereing $70 for an original DS trade-in this week, which brings the price of a DS Lite preorder down to $60.  Tempting, but I don't know if the better screens and buttons are worth it.

I haven't been able to find any offical information regarding the EB/Gamestop trade in deal. Does this only pertain to certain stores, or is it nationwide in the US? Is there any information on their website?
14  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / need help picking out my next DS game on: May 19, 2006, 03:15:23 PM
A few games that haven't been mentioned:

Kirby - probably the only game on the DS that realizes the full potential of the stylus interface. You don't control Kirby directly, but instead draw paths for him using the stylus. Its definately one of the more unique platformers out there. There are tons of unlockables - if you are into that sort of thing the game will last you quite some time.

Ouendan - fun, funny rythym action game with a whacky plot, import only right now. They are making US version, but it will be a totally differnt game with new songs and stories.

Sonic Rush - nothing ground breaking, but it finnaly gets the sonic formula right after years of post genesis 2d and 3d trash. If you enjoyed the original  sonic games on the genny, you'll have a blast. The 3d boss battles are kind of goofy though.
15  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / need help picking out my next DS game on: May 19, 2006, 03:07:35 PM
I'll be the dissenting opinion on Mario Kart.  Aside from grasping the whole jump-and-wiggle powerslide mechanic, there isn't much to mastering the game. The courses , with the exception of a few, just felt uninspired and very much 'been there done that'.

I dunno, maybe I just played too many cart racers during the PS1 era, but I definate didn't catch the fever with Mario Kart.

I will say the wifi multiplayer was pretty great though.
16  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / My Asus Video card w/ TV Tuner about to close for $1 on Ebay on: May 19, 2006, 02:59:31 PM
I think all your defenses are kind of missing the point. Yeah, you messed up by posting an ebay auction - that IS breaking the rules. But the core issue is that your post was just in poor form.

Forgive me for speaking for the board owners, but this is a place to come and discuss games. The trading forum is a subsection of the site for the board's members to trade things. Creating an account to sell something might not go against the 'laws' of the forum, but it definately goes against its spirit.

Its really common sense and common decency - you can tap dance around it however you want - but you are really just coming across as a 2 bit shill.

Those aren't component cables, they are composite cables (aka RCA cables) - HUGE difference. Component cables offer a higher picture quality and are able to carry a HD signal.

Sony does not expect the Xbox 360's first to market advantage to affect its strategy. "Throughout our history, we have never been the first platform to market in terms of a generational shift," Harrison stated.

Am I reading this wrong? Haven't they been the first to market for every generational shift that they've been a part of? PS1 before N64 (though not before Dreamcast if that counts, I suppose). PS2 before Gamecube and XBox.

Nope, you have the dreamcast in the wrong generation

RPGs were in turmoil.  Turn-based, strategic combat was dead.  Characterization was in its death throes, regulated to linear, repetitive JRPGs.  Plotlines wavered in fleeting moments of inspiration, then abruptly crashed into predictability and routine.

The genre was no longer a place for intelligent, complex, high-brow design.  It had fallen to the plebians and the children, its frail body--still alive--being feasted upon by morons who demanded ponies, idiots who sang praises to tree-generation and erosion simulators, and graphics whores.  These were dark times.  Nevertheless, some still held a sliver of hope that maybe, some day, gameplay would reign supreme again...

someone made exactly what you want, its called Minions of Mirth

Its basically a single player MMORPG styled after the original Everquest. You can play it solo or with additional party members.

Optionally, you can play it online by connecting to individually run servers.

The entire game was pretty much written by one guy using the Torque engine from GarageGames.

I have specs pretty close to that on the rig I just built, 3700+ athlon 64, 1 gb ram, 7800 GT.

I preordered the 360 version. I am really on the fence though. I don't have HD for my 360 - unless I want to tell the g/f she can't watch TV in the living room for the next month.

So my dilema is 360 in low res, or PC in high res with possibly lower detail.
