1  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / DVDs up for grabs on: August 05, 2005, 11:35:11 PM
If you haven't moved it (The Frighteners) yet Simon I'd recommend doing so sooner rather than later as a re-release has been announced for 11.29.05.

No problem.  You've done enough nice things for me over the years so its about time I returned the favor.

Of course, if you feel like giving it away for that price I'd gladly take it to resell.  slywink Love the movie but I'm waiting on a better release for it which should come out eventually.

Try selling The Frighteners on Amazon as you could do a lot better.  Surpised someone didn't snatch it up from you and try to resell it themselves.

The one title that stands out for me as a purchase is They Shoot Horses, Don't They?  I saw that about a decade ago and loved it.  There are a few other titles that I'm curious about but they aren't currently must haves.

I just turn AU to notify but don't download.  That shouldn't affect bandwidth at all (not sure as I don't game).
9  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Do you want to have your GoneGold feedback verified here? on: October 18, 2004, 06:48:23 AM
I'm not listed above but was Mooncalf on GG.  If my Heatware profile isn't enough to confirm my identity, given my email address is the same as that one and my current user name is my email address, then perhaps someone can verify me (perhaps Andy, Simon, Eliot, naednek though those were quite sometime ago and I can't recall with whom I did the most recent dvd trades with.. jblank perhaps).[/url]
10  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Should we carry over GoneGold trader feedback? on: October 16, 2004, 09:58:21 PM
Is there anyway to verify information from GG in terms of an admin having access to the email account on record?

For example, I was Mooncalf on GG and changed my name when signing up at CG to reflect the one I use most everywhere but my email address is the same both at GG and here (plus I can easily verify mine due to my heatware profile also).

12  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Amazon.com Deal - FOX Season 1 Sets for $15 on: October 15, 2004, 05:14:47 AM
My own personal opinion is the following..

MASH- You probably would have a better idea on whether you would like this than myself as I can only recall seeing it growing up when my parents watched it.

24 Season 1- I never saw season one but watched every episode of season 2 and the first couple of 3 before moving on.  If you like suspense/action/drama type shows than you most likely would really enjoy this.  Atleast enough for one complete viewing as it doesn't have much rewatch value.  Keep in mind that you can likely trade or sell it and recoup at the least a portion of your cost.

Millenium Season 1- sold out unless they bring it back at the discounted price.

Roswell S1- I liked the very few episodes I saw but mostly for the eye candy, namely Shiri Appleby.  The show itself is sort of a sci-fi/soap opera hybrid.  Overwrought but decent if you don't mind teen melodrama.

Angel S1-  I've only seen a handful of Buffy/Angel episodes and didn't really care for what I saw.  The first season is supposed to be its weakest sticking strictly to monster of the week episodes.  My guess is if you didn't care for Buffy than you might like this but probably not love.

Futurama Vol. 1- A strong show with non traditional humor.  At these prices it is one I wouldn't mind recommending blind to someone given, again, ones ability to treat it as a very cheap rental and can recoup cost either with trading it for something else or selling for most of what you pay.

Simpsons S1- the weakest of the show so if you don't like the animation right off and don't have an interest in the series as a whole then you can skip.

In Living Color S1- sold out

Buffy the Vampire Slayer S1-  what you've seen is probably enough to not interest you as fans of the show state that it really doesn't take off until season 2.

King of the Hill S1- you mentioned you don't like but I really like this show.  The humor is created via the characters and grows from that so benefits from seeing multiple episodes.  The only weakness for me is some of the Peggy/Luanne centric episodes but otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone blind.  Unless it really turned you off I might suggest reconsidering.

My recommendations would be definites on 24, Futurama, and King of the Hill.  The others are borderline unless you are a fan of the type of genre the show is.
13  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Anyone have a backup of the GG ELOG thread? on: October 14, 2004, 05:58:41 AM
Very kind of you, thanks.
14  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Logins change from GG to CG? on: October 14, 2004, 05:44:56 AM
My former GG name was Mooncalf, used that for the past couple of years, but I've changed usernames a couple of times over the past few years.  I think it went from Munchausen to Rosencrantz to Mooncalf and now my current one.

All of my feedback both here and on HeatWare is under Mooncalf but I liked this name better so went with it.
15  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Anyone have a backup of the GG ELOG thread? on: October 14, 2004, 05:38:09 AM
More than a long shot but.. any chance someone has a backup of the ELOG thread from GG?  All of my games have been packed away and I really don't want to have to dig them out to come up with a list again if it can be avoided.

My username on GG was Mooncalf.
