I like the idea of the game, I'm thinking that pickup games with random players might be a tad contentious due to the high level of co-op required by the hunters.  Be super fun to listen to developmentally challenged teammates curse your every move.  I think it would be super fun with a good group though.  To bad for me that it is hitting the streets at the busiest time of the year work wise for me, no playing until mid-November when my schedule returns to normal or something close to it.

I'll choose to believe that this creates a niche in the market that somebody may try to exploit.  Kinect owners will be looking for anything to play using their device and maybe that allows for a bit more sell though on a game owners may not usually buy.  A developer could try and capture that market with something/anything, could go either way though if crappy trash games are put out instead of quality Kinect titles.  I will hold out hope for a good fitness program, what I would really like is one that has streching and flexing as part of the program sorta like Fitness Evolved but better intergrated.

I agree with YellowKing that MS is trying to change with the market and listening to its customer/potential customer base, can't be all bad.

Yeah, I don't really see why there is any confusion on what the show is going to be about. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

I'm not so much confused as to what the show is about as I am wondering what the intended target audience is, or maybe more why did this idea get a green light instead of something else.  The Marvel universe is chock full of characters and stories, and of all of them, somehow this is what the powers that be chose to bet their money on?  A period drama that's a tangential spinoff to a show whose ratings were already in question (SHIELD), that can't really have direct tie-ins to the next few movies and is most associated to what's generally considered the most boring of all the Marvel movies (Cap 1)?

Maybe they are going for a Indiana Jones vibe with Agent Carter in the lead role fighting Nazis who are searching for or creating some ultimate weapon of the week?  I have no idea but will tune in to see what they trying.

Agent of Shield experienced one of the best turnarounds on a show I've seen.  It's up there with The Sarah Connor Chronicles for complete turnabout when it comes to quality.

I think you can safely ignore all but the last 4 shows or so and dive back in to get to the good stuff, if you were interested.

I never saw Sarah Conner Chronicles but I agree that S.H.I.E.L.D. really improved over the last few episodes, glad I stuck with it as I was pretty close to moving along.

Cool, I spent a couple hours getting summoned into other people's games and then summoned some people into mine to help beat a boss.  Pretty fun helping other people, but I wish I could stay with them longer.

Man, that makes the game sooooo much easier it's not even funny.  One person can kite the dumb enemies while the other one or two hit from behind and they just die so quickly.  Plus I'm just raking in souls for beating all of those enemies and bosses even when I'm just helping other people.

One complaint I would have is that even with lots of souls to level up it doesn't feel like leveling up really does me much good.  I think I'm level 40 (or near enough) now and I don't really feel any stronger than I was at level 20.   icon_confused

You get the biggest bang in upgrading your equipment vs leveling your character especially in the early game.  It doesn't explain it well in the game but some weapons have different bonuses based on your stats, if you look at the bottom left when selecting weapons you will see them down below.  So a weapon that doesn't look that great early in the game can become quite powerful with upgrading plus the addition of your stat bonuses.

What I run into is that I have many many souls but not enough Titanite shards/chunks/slabs/whatever to upgrade things so I tend to level up when I can't upgrade weapons.  Would love to find more Titanite.

Tried laying down the summoning sign last night and was amazed at how quick I got summoned into a game.  I did end up doing one boss solo as I had ran past lots of mobs to get to the boss area and didn't have time to try a summon before the mobs would have caught me, lots of fun.

Had some time off so tried a bit of Titanfall this weekend.  I didn't have that great a time with it, fun in spots but the matchmaking seems really borked.  I got put into matches with guys who were level 40ish on their 5th or 6th prestige while I was level 3 on my first attempt to play.  This did not end well for me, just too much going on to even get a sense of the game play before I was shot over and over by players who obviously know so much more about what is going on.  I'm not sure I'll go back to it anytime soon, I'd have rather spent my time playing Dark Souls 2 on the 360.

[edit]  Ooops didn't review the thread before posting and so apologies for not being a beacon of light for this game Pug!  I'm sure it is fun for the right players, I'm just a wrong one [/edit]

Quite probably, I don't get much good sleep these days as I'm working 1830 to 0630 six days a week so patience is pretty low and FPS's take some of that.  I managed to grab the last copy of Dark Souls II for the 360 at the local WallyMart so I am going to dig into that for a bit.  I'm sure to try Titanfall again later tonight.

Eh I think i'm just not into multiplayer shooters much anymore.  Played two matches and topped the scoreboard once but I really wasn't all that engaged with the game.  In fact I'm taking a break and thinking of pulling my 360 out of storage and running to gamestop for a copy of Dark Souls II which I feel would be more my style.

Don't get me wrong, Titanfall seems like a great game and I'm sure to continue playing more when my crazy work hours cease here soon.  Dark Souls seems a better fit for me right now though.

Ultimately it hinges on how much you care about the characters and what happens to them.  If you don't like Rick or Carl or the actors who portray them, it's no surprise you're losing interest because it's really their story for the most part.

I think that is very true in my case, never liked Carl and Rick has sort of taken on a one dimensional state in more recent episodes.  I guess my overall point would be that I just fast forward past the zombie attacks as they all play out the same and watch the story elements unfold but the story isn't grabbing me now.  I don't hate the show but to compare it to another show without a real overall goal, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the difference is that I liked watching those characters unlike my feelings about the main focus characters in Walking Dead.

Survival is most definitely a goal.  They tried to create a community.  That was a goal.  They attempted to save Andrea and stop the governor.  More goals.  The show has a plethora of goals.  Goals both large and small.

See I used the term I a lot in my response allowing for the possibility of other reactions or feelings about the show, I don't see your reply having any room for opposite opinions.  The goals you list have all been done in some fashion before and to what end?  everyone will die at some point and become zombies, in fact I have to believe in the Walking Dead universe that all Canadians are all ready zombies as they didn't have access to guns like the Americans and had to fend the zombies off with hockey sticks.

Also if survival is a goal then why do Carl and Rick walk around with only guns?  No backpacks, rations or other camping/survival gear, kind bugs me.
103  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: The Walking Dead tap dances onto AMC for Season 4 on: February 13, 2014, 12:35:33 AM
I'm losing interest in the show as well.  For me it is the lack of an overall goal or destination that makes each episode seem to be a mirror of other episodes.  While I can appreciate the character development, there isn't any thing else to capture my attention.  Narrow escape from zombies, group falls apart and scatters, main character dies and turns into zombie... Seen it all before, I liked the first season where they had a goal of getting to the CDC in Atlanta but since then nothing.  I'll watch but it probably won't command my full attention, I'll do the dishes or play the piano during the show.

The new friends system is now like twitter. You basically "follow" people, they don't have to accept. However, if two people follow each other you open up some traditional friend functionality.

It seems my friends/followers screen was a bit messed up, it wasn't until I pressed the select (or whatever it is called now) button that I got a menu to search for a person.  After I did that I can see a "find a person" icon whenever I bring up the followers screen, was not there before.

Did one workout using Xbox fitness,  Seems OK but not much different than working out to a DVD.  Tracking is much improved but the Kinect lost me once for no reason I can figure out and having to stream the videos lead to a couple of hiccups of less than 5 seconds while the vid buffered.  Far too early to tell but I would like to see a workout program that combined multiple workouts, as it is now it looks like you just pick and choose with no real guidance.  The 360's EA Sports Active got most of my time simply because they had a 9 week series of workouts building as you went along, need something like that on the XBone.  Only tried the heartbeat tracker once and didn't get it to respond, it was taking long enough that I felt my heartrate was droping while I waited.

I need to explore further but I'd also like to see a quick series of videos that gave an idea of the exercises in a workout before starting that workout, that way I can decide if that is what I want to do.  Fitness could work well but I feel they need something that tracks your workouts better, EA Sports Active used a dedicated heart rate monitor and at the end of the workout you could see how your pulse tracked over the entire time and in what zone it was.  Xbox Fitness as I said above seems like workout DVD's with Kinect snapped to the right showing your body position, not really as intergrated as I'd hoped.  Lots of potential and as I said only having one workout in so far so lots to figure out going forward.
