Holy smokes after watching this trailer I may have to add NBA2K14 to my list.

Video

I was trying to figure out where to post that.
I really wish 2k would get back access to the NFL license.

Does that video show actual game play?  It seemed more like a reprocessed highlight reel.  Did look good and may be tempted although I'm not a big basketball fan.

Also, regarding last night's show, was anyone else confused by the part at the beginning?  Why were people trying to secretly move diamonds by creating such a conspicuous scene?  Why were the people on the street and subway barely reacting to such a bizarre sight?  Why did it look so much like a scene from a deranged version of Deal or No Deal  icon_biggrin

See now you have me thinking it was a take on Goldcase from 30 Rock!

Not real sure, burnt out on AC and a barely played ACIII at all.  Not into FIFA, CoD on Xbone if I get it at all, Killzone never looked like something I wanted to play and  I have never played a Lego game.  I guess buy the console and see what games get the best reviews?  Then go that way?  Could cancel the system pre-order and may still do so but there will be games for the PS4 that I will want to play long before any price drop happens and that is the way I'm leaning now.

Failure to launch!  There goes the only game I had on order for the PS4.  Need to figure out if I'm going to keep my pre-order or not.
166  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: How are you feeling about your pre-orders now? on: October 14, 2013, 09:55:20 PM
I like to see people getting excited about a new console but so much of this thread is more along the lines of people getting excited about the possible failures of the console they are not planning to buy and that is decidedly not exciting.  Who here thinks you are going to change someone's mind based on Internet rumors and insider info?  And yet the vitriol is growing faster and faster.  Release dates cannot come fast enough so we can finally separate fact from fiction.

Feeling good about my pre-orders but not so good about this thread.
167  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: The Walking Dead tap dances onto AMC for Season 4 on: October 14, 2013, 09:42:41 PM
I am hoping for a overarching plot line as weekly stabbing of walkers gets old for me if the survivors have no plan and no way out.  I'm getting nitpicky as well on stupid things that have no real bearing on the story like why wasn't Herschel the vet looking after the pig and why was the lady from the woods so dirty and yet her tent was spotless?  Small things but probably an indicator that I am losing interest.

How is buying the XBone considered betting on futures and the PS4 not?  Neither has hit the ground yet so I suppose if you are not a betting man then a wait and see attitude would fit best.

I'm never in the mood for a drink but on the rare occasions that I'm out for dinner with friends I may have a beer preferably one on tap.  Last Christmas I was visiting family and my two BIL's were drinking rum and cokes, I pulled a Sheldon Cooper and had diet virgin rum and cokes.

Sounds like you need to buy a XB1 instead of a PS4, guaranteed to have games uglier and more gritty smile, just kidding!  I know what you are saying in regards to the look of the actors in a series but for me I guess I was expecting it and did not take away from the enjoyment of the show.  What did jar me a bit was the car at the end of the episode and the "bus".  Seems to me if you have secret tech then why are you flaunting it around in public?  Small thing that tickled the brain though.

I'm going to continue watching the show but I've already written off several other new shows such as Mom (terrible Chuck Lorre show yet again) and Micheal J Fox show (seems very cookie cutter of a show).  Sleepy Hollow is on the bubble.

A) doing game reviews,
B) a sucker for new-shiny and
C) a sucker for new-shiny

I wouldn't touch either console till next year.

I'm b & c and I'm still not touching the PS4 for at least a year, they're just not offering anything to entice me right now.  if they had made Second Son, Deep Down (well, Deep Down when we thought it might be a new Dragon's Dogma) and a third game that impressed me launch titles I'd still have my PS4 pre-order, but maybe next year there will be 2 more must haves for me that are exclusives.  They have to be exclusives though, no practical point in dropping $400 for a system if I can already play a game on a system I already have.

I like the shiny shiny as well and I figure that each console will release an exclusive game I want to play way before a price drop for the systems so why not jump in on day one if the money isn't an issue.

If there was ever a show where you are required to suspend belief, this is it.  I dont mean that in a bad way either.  The whole plot and concept is so over the top, that you just have to accept it and roll with it.  The good thing is, going the way they did, they have a vast wealth of mythology to draw from.  The show is driven by the people who ran Fringe ( which I really liked a lot ) so I think they will be able to make this work.  Its looking like its going to be a fun show to watch.

Yeah that was my take as well.  I couldn't figure out if the main lead was a Lt for a small town police dept or part of some large police force in a big city, nothing made sense on that level.  I enjoyed it and hope it does well.

Hard fought game in SF. Clay Matthews is a great LB, but he's Harbaugh's an ass. That's all I gotta say about that.

FTFY

At least Harbaugh doesn't intentionally try to injure the QB of the other team with a dirty, laaaaaaaaaaaaaaate hit.  If Rodgers got hit as late as Kaepernick did, the league office would have exploded.

Please tell me you don't honestly think that is true. It's a late hit, which Matthews even owned up to after the game, but intentionally trying to injure? Come on now.

I am abig 49'er fan and I didn't think the late hit was that big a deal.  Worthy of a 15 yard penalty for sure but not seeing any intent to harm Kap who had one foot out of bounds when hit.  I think in past seasons before the quarterback became untouchable that no flag would have been thrown, or if say that was a running back Matthews hit, again maybe no flag.

Adding to that, I wonder if the Packers had gotten psyched up to lay a beating on Kap after what happened in last years playoff game and all day long the 49'ers did not allow them to get shots at him but finally Matthews had his chance and took it.

Okay, really depends on how this upcoming colonoscopy goes on the 17th.   Iíve been having upper and lower GI issues for years, but lately things have been worse.

Which prep are you using, Soulchilde? If they want you using GoLYTELY, ask for other options. That stuff will make your year feel considerably worse. Had my 2nd one earlier this year, and the prep was so much easier, but can't remember the name. You may have to be more for an alt prep, depending on your insurance, but worth every penny if you can swing it. The stuff you had to drink was a much smaller quantity, and was more gentle. You still have to drink a fair bit of liquid with it, but can drink almost anything you want. Overall volume is less and you aren't trying to gag down a gallon of that swill.

Back on topic, this year has been much better than last, which was pretty miserable for most of it.

I want to say the stuff I used was called Movieprep or close to that, it's been a few years.

This year same as last year.  Steady as she goes.  Get back to me in two years, I expect changes then.

Not much to say on the he/she timing in articles but what about timing for say bathroom usage?  I believe that after a co-worker underwent transgender therapy or surgery or whatever it was to go from he to she, the company let other females know that the individual was going to be using the ladies bathroom from now on.  I have no idea of the extent of the changes she underwent before deciding to do this step or how far along in the process she was.

XBoner for me! Wait what?!?  Anyways I am happy to have the XB1 on order for day one edition and 3 games on order as well.  I mentioned in another thread that I'm still in for a PS4 but there are no release day games that I feel I must have so I could cancel that order.  I don't think I will though, I will have both consoles some day so I don't see why it can't be on release day for both.   Watchdogs for the PS4 feels like the direction I'm heading.

What I am looking for in Kinect 2.0 is better tracking for fitness programs.  I actually liked EA Sports Active but sometimes the tracking was just terrible and frustrating to try and get the workout in.  They had to turn off the Kinect tracking for floor exercises (push ups, planks etc) as it just wouldn't see the person down there.  I don't hold out much hope for the Kinect 2.0 pulse tracking and it being a tool that fitness programs could use, seems a bit out there but if it works that would be a huge benefit for the fitness genre.

As crazy as it sounds, I bet there would still be a good amount of people though that would buy either console if they launched initially with no games.

I bet there are people who are going to do that even if there are no games they want in the launch window.

I find myself in this position.  Not really anything out for the PS4 at launch that catches my interest that isn't also on the XB1  More stuff on the XB1 list that I might buy and I have Forza 5, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse pre-ordered.  I think Watch Dogs may be my only launch PS4 title and I could get that on the XB1 if I desire to.  I guess I am also kicking around the idea of canceling my PS4 pre-order but not too seriously.

Really?  Maybe I'm getting frugal at my old age but I'm not sure I see a need for two systems at all this generation, much less two at launch.

I can't imagine buying one without something to play on it.

With old age comes disposable income so yes I can buy a console without any games just to scratch an itch as it were.  I won't try to defend it as it does seem a waste of money on the surface and I won't get full value from my gaming dollar with two consoles and a good PC as well.  There are worse things to blow money on.
