Yeah Lil is gone!!!  They didn't sugar coat it very much for her in the end.  Anoop wasn't a surprise but I'm with many others who figured Matt and not Allison in the bottom 3.  Boy the girls are not getting many votes this year, seven singers left and both girls end up in the bottom 3.  So next week seems like a Thunderdome death match between Troll doll and the Hatt to see who gets to say in the mansion one more week. After this weeks voting results it certainly looks like Adam, Kris and Danny are going to make it to the top 3, I'm not sure who will be in the final besides Adam.  Gokey may have to pull the wife card back out in order to beat out Kris if Kris keeps up his momentum.

Archuletta looked like he was expecting the snow shovel to the face at any moment, still singing with eyes shut.  Didn't care for the song at all and the disco revival wasn't very good either, HDTV isn't meant for aging stars.

P.S. Archie is singing tonight so no more mean snow shovel comments!!!

I'm dusting off the snow shovel now that I hear Arculetta is singing tonight but maybe my aim will be off and it will smack Gokey instead.

Disco sucks!

Lil- Bleh, not enjoying anything she sings since the top 12 and still they give her stage time to talk back to the judges, nobody else seems to get this vote perk.

Kris-  Ahh very good rework of the song, I liked it better than Adam's twist on his song but of course the judges didn't give near as much props to Kris.  Best week for him from my viewpoint

Gokey-  Not liking him at all, didn't like the song, didn't like his singing, didn't agree with the judges at all.

Allison-  Finally they managed to change her look a little bit, love the fact Ryan almost pulled her off her feet at the end of her segment.  Ok song but she sings in a low register that isn't suited for Disco week so she did about as well as I thought she would but the final part of the song wasn't good for me dawg.

Adam-  Madworld redux.  Another slow song that was ruined for me by the totally unnecessary screeching near the end.  I did like the overall performance but not as well as the judges liked it, I do agree with them that he hits all his notes spot on.

Hatt-  They saved him just so he could torture us this week with a strange version of Staying Alive.  There were parts of his arrangement where I thought everyone had forgot the words since there wasn't any music nor any words playing, just strange to me.

Anoop-  Dim all the Lights?  More like Turn Out the Lights for Anoop, engrave one of the bottom three stools with his name already.

So Anoop, Hatt and ill in the bottom 3.  I don't care who goes but I know my DVR will be fast forwarding through their goodbye performance since DISCO SUCKS and I don't want to hear sucky singers sing Disco songs.  Matt and Anoop outta here but who ever is left standing is gone next week since they can't stand against Adam,Gokey,Allison but may be Kris on an off night.
1165  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Official 2009 American Idol Thread on: April 15, 2009, 08:40:28 AM
Not a good week for sure, plenty of songs to chose from and all were uninspired except for maybe Kris's

Allison-  Like rittchard I didn't get the judge love for this one, seemed monotone even when she tried to go up in register, just not enough variation throughout the song for me to enjoy it.  She is getting more comfortable on stage though, I do wish she would change her look more from week to week, Lil at least manages that trick.

Anoop-  Sigh I don't like Bryan Adams and I didn't like this version of this song, I thought Quinton had really good advice for Anoop that Adawg didn't pull off.

Adam-  A song choice that you can't really perform much different than the original, some nice bits in there but lots of high pitch screecthy stuff too.  I felt Adam hit all the notes as he intended to sing them unlike the other singers tonight who all seemed to miss here and there.  That last note really didn't sit well with me, too high and too long.

Matt-  I thought the beginning of the song was pretty good but when he got to the middle, the notes were too high and that continued to the end.  That changed the whole feel of the song and I didn't like it at all.

Danny Goaway-  Yep Endless Love  crybaby,  this is the second time I've seen the mentor give advice that Danny just throws away and does his own thing (R&B week was the other) and like last year when Andrew Lloyd Webber told Archie to keep his eyes open when he sang, all I could do is watch Danny's hands move around.  He needs to go back to glasses as well but maybe he wanted the cameras to have a better ability to see his tears.  I didn't think he hit more than half the notes he was trying to sing and I got no emotion out of him from this song. Simon was right, it was boring.

Kris-  He sang this at such a low volume, I kept waiting for a change in tempo/energy that never showed up.  I did like the very beginning much more than the end and the end came quickly, it seemed like a short song that he didn't do enough with.

Lil-  Wow she did get the Simon shit sandwich tonight what with Simon's comments to Allison and then his critique of Lil, not that she didn't deserve it.  She sang the song in too high a key and the gospel/R&B twist just took away all the meaning of the song, why would you hit loud high notes on snow and the final rose in the song?  Her only hope is that sassing back to Simon garners her some votes.

Overall a disappointment for sure.  I think the way they did judges comments will hurt Lil and the others who didn't get Simon comments.  Simon liked Allison, Adam (of course) and Danny (why why why) so they should be safe but Lil is bottom 3 material for sure and might be a goner (except they allowed her time to respond to Simon, do they favor her for some reason?).  I'd say Anoop and Matt hit the stools as well.  Kris is a possibility as well.  Sigh, there needs to be a bottom 4 this week.  I want Lil gone but figure on Matt for the boot with no judges save given. Oh and Paula's comments to Lil?   retard retard retard

Quentin Tarentino is the "mentor" this week for film songs.  I'm not sure what qualifies him, but didn't he also do this once before?

Anyway, here's hoping Adam will sing something from Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

No No No!  Memory from Cats! is the only answer.  I'm betting Adam knows what the song is about unlike Jason Castro last year.  icon_biggrin

I'm betting Lil sings some Disney song

Gokey can sing "Unchained Melody" from the movie Ghost!

I wish there was, I couldn't find one to set for it.  Kind of annoying double-clicking on a character portrait all the time to select the group (or clicking on the thing in the lower right corner, which is even more out of the way).

The thing that may derail Adam is the stupid sappy song that wins the song writing contest.  Can you see him singing "This is my now" that Cook and Archie had to sing last year?  On second thought it could be cool to see what he does with it.  Maybe Adam throws in a bad performance to try and get booted after the judges can no longer save him, he is assured some sort of contract after what he has done and probably won't like the terms the winner has to abide by.  Allison does have the potential to be a Jordan Sparks and maybe AI will spend some effort on trying to change her look, she may make the top 2 but it is hard to see that when she has already been in the bottom 3 twice and those performances were better than any of Lil's.  Allison won't make the top 2 unless she changes up something soon.

Well I think they got it right by RMA'ing Eye Mac.  He really shouldn't have tried for that high note again, even more cringe worthy tonight.  Anoop is in trouble ending up in the bottom 3 and almost out but maybe he will pick up the Scott vote bloc next week.  I'm not sure anyone of the bottom 3 were worth using the "save" on, they can't win against Allison/Danny/Glambot so why bring them back?  What's the deal with that Flo Rida song?  A song about oral sex on AI or am I mistaken about the meaning of the lyrics "You turn me right round when you go down"?

The IRQ number notice is an old WinXP error that basically means you're having conflicts with either the graphic card or a non-motherboard based soundcard. I don't remember which. You don't happen to own a Creative soundcard, do you?

Ahh the theme that Carrie Underwood used to sing Alone, songs from the year of their birth.

Gokey,  Yep same ol same ol.  This years Archuletta, good singer with no variation between weeks

Kris -  I hate this song so it may cloud my reactions but I hated his version of it even more than the original, perhaps a bottom 3 this week

Lil Tina -  Yikes did she go to Megan for dance/stage moves?  Horrible presence on stage and the song didn't have any power at all.  No time for Ryan to pull her kids on stage to get awww votes. Bottom 3

Anoop -  True colors?  Hmm hard to sing a Cindy Lauper song with her distinctive voice but it was ok, I didn't like it as much as the judges did though.

Eye Mac -  I liked his change from being the piano man and was surprised the judges hit him so hard but that high note was pretty bad.

Allison -  Nice song choice and I liked her rendition of it as well, nice and deep.  Kelly Clarkson like?  maybe but watch Kelly sing "Some stuff like that there" from season 1, Allison isn't quite there.

Hatman -  Another song choice I hate and I didn't like it at all, I was floored by the judges reaction, I just don't see it.

Glambert - Wow, I would buy that version of the song...  Adam has built up quite a list of songs that are different and creative (as far as AI goes) and seems to be the front runner now, strong each week.  Loved it mucho and he did manage to hold the screams to the bare minimum.

Bottom 3  Kris/Lil/Hatman  Time for a guy to head home, just can't see there being 6 guys and Allison left so I'm guessing Matt Hatman heads home unless the judges save him (which they might)

The whole resurrection of the cawing bird thing was just weird and an appropriate cap to end of the road of one of the more bizarre singers they've ever had on the show.

As bad as Megan was, she was tame compared to the "wtf" trainwreck that is Lady GaGa. Is that what passes for popular music nowadays? Good lord, shoot me now.

Had she done the bird thing before?  If so I'd thankfully forgotten about it, it was very stupid.

Lady GaGa was oh so bad, I'd never heard of her before and hope to never again.

David Cook's song was alrite dawg but I kept thinking the whole theme of it was the same as one of the judges favorites he sang from last year, "Be my Baby".  Girl leaves but will be back.

Not a moment too soon for Megan and I was a big fan just two weeks ago.  Sheesh way to cop an attitude girl and I believe that cost her lots of votes in the end.  The girls are going to have trouble this year getting into the top 4, Allison to me seems the better singer but has already fallen into the bottom 3 twice now and Short Round just isn't that good at singing Diva songs.  I still think Lil Short Round ends up in the bottom 3 instead of Allison if Ryan hadn't featured her kids during the show last night.   I can see Anoop and Matt trading places on the stools each week until they are eliminated, their voting blocs seem very fickle and move from one to the other.  It seems to me Adam, Danny and perhaps Kris can have an off week and survive but the others really can't do that.  I liked that Simon told Megan she had no shot at the save (I think we all knew the only one they would have saved was Allison) and avoided the charade of a judges conference.  Pete is right about Megan and her disrespect for the whole AI show, she acts like the one who is 16 years old in the competition (perhaps a female Danny Noreiga type if you remember him from last year).
1180  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Official 2009 American Idol Thread on: April 01, 2009, 03:55:53 PM
I'm a bit rushed today so I'll just say I agree with almost everything rittchard has written.  Megan is really on the slide down hill and should be in the bottom 3 and I can't believe I agree with Paula on anything but she was right to tell Megan to just sit on a chair and sing, Big Mac Round probably could have been fighting for one of the stools as well but Ryan tossed her a "save" by getting one of her kids to hug Randy, that should translate to a few votes.  I guess I didn't gel with MacJoel, I kept thinking his voice lacked power compared to the other singers.  Kris and Adam managed to make songs I never wanted to hear again into something worth listening to so good for them and easily into next week.  Allison sang really well in the beginning of her song but I didn't care for the last part of it, tough to stand on stage and take criticism on your outfit at 16 years old, boo to the judges for focusing on that and not giving more input on her song.  Danny; whatever, same o' same o' (Just like snow shovel David from last year).

Bottom 3 is same for me as rittchard; Megan, Matt and Anoop with Anoop heading out the door.

I like Crawley's idea about using the save next week just to end that whole sthick, but I do worry about the week after they use it as I think the show will play up the "oooohhh"  X was saved last week, but now two go!
1183  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Official 2009 American Idol Thread on: March 27, 2009, 09:08:54 AM
rittchard sees something there, I never would have picked Matt for the bottom 3.  Perhaps his going first (he did didn't he?) cost him votes and there are way too many guys for the voters to split up on.  No girls in the bottom 3 this week either, again once the herd of guys thins out we will see if Megan and Short Round can survive and Allison has already visited the stools of shame and despair(sosad).  How long can Eye Mac last on his vision quest (doh, I gotta stop these bad puns)?  I'm guessing he may outlast Kris or Matt and maybe both.  I'm cynical but perhaps his being in the bottom 3 and everyone having to help him find the right place to stand on stage will garner votes for him next week (not that I think he is playing it up at all).

No surprise Oil Rig was sunk and no save forthcoming, that was a travesty during his sing out what with them all horsing around.  And that brings up another thing that is bugging me this season... The judges are showing up far too much on camera during the performances.  I used to like to keep any eye out for when the camera might catch a shot of the judges table and try and get some indication on how they might be reacting but now they seem to show those guys more than they feature the audience, not good IMHO.

The only singers I see the judges tossing a save to would be Adam, Danny and Allison.  The others had just better hope the show wants to use its new toy this year cause Simon isn't going to vote to save anyone else unless its to feature the new rule.

If they announced next weeks theme I missed it but I'm glad MoTown week is over, nothing against it but I've heard those songs soooo many times.

I liked Adam's performance, he can put his own twist on songs, top vote getter this week I'm betting.

Allison:  Yes much better and by far the best female vocal of the night

Anoop:  Still doing well and solid choice to move on

Danny:  Didn't care that much for it, he is dropping on my list as I think Matt and Kris were better this week

Kris:  It's alright dawg, not outstanding but solid singing

Short Round:  Judges were right that she missed her best chance to make a statement with Motown week, maybe she is better at other types of song but I was surprised at how flat her performance was

Matt:  If he had a sob story to tell I think the judges would rate him higher, nice transition from piano to just singing on stage

Megan:  Sigh, I'm OUT! on the Megan bandwagon, not so much because of her singing which was bad but in her interview she referred to herself in the third person and then after the judges ripped her she was pretty cocky about having voters out there who would get her onto next week.  I wonder if prior to last week she was worried about the "pretty blond singer" voting bloc splitting between Alexis and herself but when she wasn't even in the bottom 3 and Pinky got booted perhaps now she is overconfident.  Anyways it really was a turn off for me and I predict bottom 3 for her.

Oil Rig:  Nope not going to happen and Simon was right to tell him so, he just doesn't have the ability to sing against the others at this point.  Bottom 3 and out

Eye Mac:  See Oil Rig but has sympathy vote bloc that will see (hehe) him through a few more weeks.  Not strong in anything other than playing piano, may show up in the bottom 3

My prediction is Oil Rig, Eye Mac and Megan at the bottom with Sarver heading home.

The Judges Save was all drama without any meaning again last night. Anyone notice how the judges were barely paying attention to Alexis' performance when she was singing for her life? I think Simon looked up for a bit when she walked towards the judges table but no one else was paying attention which indicated to me the whole thing is a farce.

Not that its going to change much but that whole element is as unnecessary as the judges walking out from behind the stage on the competition night.

Out the final 2 up there Alexis should have been the one staying but neither of those two had a shot in hell at winning as is.

That was ridiculous during Pinky's singing, it had to be all show since they didn't do that last week before booting PRG.  I bet they were all chatting about what a douche Ryan is and how Carrie Underwood isn't all that and a bag of chips.

I agree neither Sarver or Pinky could win and I didn't think they would have saved her no matter how well she sang, we've seen in the past how the judges actually make up a lot of their opinion by watching rehearsals during the week.

Cool here is a vid clip of Paula making that mistake and critiquing Jason Castro for a song he hadn't sung yet

Next week:  MOTOWN, woowoo!  Free ride for Little Short Round!!!!

Pinky Tuscadaro only had one standout performance and that was during the top 36 weeks.  Her songs this week and last weren't as well done and lacked any connection with me.  I was not surprised to see her in the bottom 3, when Ryan started the show talking about shocking results and her and Sarver were the last two standing, I knew she was gone.  I would have thought Sarver wouldn't have the voting bloc to survive against her since there were two girls in the bottom 3 and lots of other guys for the tweens to vote for.  Maybe Cougars for Cook rallied up and jumped onto the Sarver express.

Love the  Short Round nickname for Lil, perfect.  She gets the get out of jail free card this week but it could be tough for Sarver again and Allison may be a weekly bottom 3 unless she can develop a personality.  I hope Pinky's voting bloc goes over to Meghan  icon_biggrin

I'm opposed to giving public money to these people for many of the same reasons stated above, it's a hard pill to swallow seeing some of these people get millions of dollars when so many are struggling.  That being said the legal ramifications could end up costing even more but I wouldn't want to be the AIG executives standing up in court arguing their position.  This tax looks like a knee jerk reaction to pull voter support, there must be a better way to handle this without tying new 90% tax rates on bonuses.  The government is still jumping in with no full understanding (I have about no understanding) of the fallout, I would like to see a more measured response to all this.

Anyone have any insight on wtf Blind Guy was talking about last night? When the judges were bashing him a little on song choice he mentioned something about have bad hat draws the last few weeks. What do they draw from a hat? I don't see how it could be actual songs because the judges were telling Lil how she should have picked something like Dolly Parton. Do they have a list of set songs (seems likely with the amount of Underwood songs that were sung) and they basically draw number to determine pick order off the list? Wonder how many songs are on the list if that is the case?

I've heard this before, If two singers want to use a very popular song then they draw for selection order.  Makes you wonder if there is a very limited number of song choices for them to use.  Perhaps Eye Mac is actually getting the high numbers but since he can't read the slip of paper the others are like "Awwww dude you pulled #6 out of the hat again!"

Adam's rendition of "Ring of Fire." first I was like, "Oh no you don't fuck with Johnny Cash." But it went so far beyond Johnny Cash's version that I found myself strangely fascinated. Then I found myself frightened, like I was in the thrall of some homoerotic demon. No doubt about it, the guy has an *amazing* rock voice. Randy hit the nail on the head - it was like Nine Inch Nails doing a country song, maybe with Axl Rose on lead vocals getting his balls clawed by a cat in heat. I simultaneously thought it was the worst and the most utterly brilliant thing I've ever heard.

Get out of my head YK!?!?!?!  That description is perfect for my reaction as well.

he's lucky more people don't realize that the song has already been performed in a very similar way on another TV show a couple years that i wouldn't be at all surprised if he was watching at the time.  although he kicks it up with some high notes at the end, he pretty much ripped off Dilana's performance from Rockstar Supernova, and that aired back in 2006...

Wow.  I'd forgotten about that. I kinda dug her - much better than Adam IMHO.

You are correct, if it was a straight rip off of Dilana (or didn't Kara reference Jeff Buckley last night?) then Adam is very lucky and may have ended up in the bottom 3 had the voters realized it.

Verrrrrry interesting night.  You never know what horrific sounds may arise from country night, but this one turned out to be full of surprises.  Based solely on this night, I might dump some of the favorites and move some of the fodder up.  The judges seemed particularly excessive in their praise to some of the non-faves, as if they were trying to even up the voting a bit so it's not as one sided as it might seem.  Hmmmm.

Sarver - same beefy cuteness, same oddball vocals.  Hard to hate him, but also hard to love him.  Country week definitely worked in his favor, and with no other real country contestant to rally behind, he should lock in his core voters and move to the next round
I'm saying Sarver goes tomorrow, that song didn't do enough to stand out from the others

Allison - bleh, I can barely remember her performance.  She's cool for a 16yo, but I'm just not a fan.  I thought the song choice was poor and she isn't attractive enough to get away with it.  If it were based on this performance alone, I'd dump her this week.
I liked the start of the song, very unique low range but as the song went on it just petered out but overall I liked it

Kris - sooooooo dreamy.  I actually thought the song and performance bordered on boring.  I was shocked Simon didn't call that but instead heaped him with praise.  Something seemed off about it.  Still, he is adorable and the singing was heartfelt.  I think he should be OK, particularly with the judges' praise and girl/gay vote.
Eh it was ok but he isn't my fav singer, should get through to next week

Lil Rounds - I thought the first half of her singing was horribly boring, and the second was just good enough to be acceptable.  Overall I thought it was a stinker and based on this week I would consider dumping her.  Should be able to ride her voting block though.
Again just Ok but not bad either, enough to continue on

Flaming Fruity - Oh.  My.  God.  Kind of similar impressions to YK, though not as favorable for me.  The absolute horridness was actually compelling in a bizarre way.  Still, I think he will scare middle America away eventually, it's just a matter of time.  Would be awesome if it were this week and the judges forced to play their immunity idol.

No need to expand on YK's impressions, easy to make it to next week middle America isn't voting for him but the tween girls are

Blindy - bleh on the song choice, I'd say he might be vulnerable based on the night and others stepping it up.  Wonder if judges would save him if he were on the bottom.  It might be a good time for him to go actually.  He may have a strong enough core fanbase to keep him going though.
I think he would be gone without the sight issue, maybe on the stage with Sarver but survives

Gokey - first half of the song was boring but when he turned it on in the second part of the song, it was awesome.  Still the one to beat, though showed some weakness tonight.
Good performance and thank goodness we have derailed the dead wife (and all the single moms) this week even if it is horrible of me to say

Pinky - OK rendition of her song but just seemed off to me.  Another one who if she wasn't an early favorite I could see being in the bottom 3 or even going.
Second week in a row she didn't sing up to par and maybe it's just me but the song was in a similar vein as her one last show.  Maybe near the botton

Anoop - may just have saved himself with a heartfelt, well sung vocal.  Lot of judges praise should aid him as well.
Yep, pulled through nicely and good for him.  Should be interesting to watch in up coming themes

My girl Megan - you either love her or hate her by now, what I love is she has her unique style as an artist and it's well defined.  I could see her landing a hit with a song like Duffy's Mercy or Adele's Chasing Pavements.  Oddly enough she's the only one whose songs I bought on iTunes, I just love the sound of her voice.  Judges were nice to her, she looked gorgeous (are her boobs huge or was it my imagination?), and she got extra sympathy votes for the flu (which seemed a bit unfair for the judges to interject).  I would have thought she'd be the one to go, but she had a lot of upside tonight.  Not to mention she still has the VFW crowd.
Suck it Megan haters, she was HOT!
Sorry about that but I really really like her this week and have all along.  She sings a different style and that is interesting for me.

Matt - judges love him, me not so much.  Decent song and vocal but he doesn't do it for me.  If I want a soulful white boy I'll pick my cutie Kris.  I thought he was vulnerable but he got the last place slot and judges' praise which should keep him in it.

I'm not sure why the judges liked it so much, I thought it was good but not over the top outstanding

After seeing the performanes, I'll go out on a limb and change my guess to Blindy for elimination tomorrow.  And some good drama as to whether or not to use the idol.  Worst case scenario: my beloved Megan and Kris in the bottom 2, and Megan goes.

I think they have a very strong top 11 so maybe the new system worked after all and like I said at the start Sarver is toast

According to my find feature the term "Friday Night Lights" hasn't been used so I'm going to add that show to the discussion.  I think this is a fantastic show even if the high school kids are like 26 years old.

- Never, ever, ever, ever, ever show us another fucking Ford commercial disguised as a "music video."

But Sarver had so much fun making that commercial!, didn't you hear him just before the commercial aired?  Don't be taking away so much fun from the contestants.

- Eliminate theme weeks. I could have sworn before this season started one of the big changes they said was coming was the elimination of theme weeks. And what do we get right off the bat? Michael Jackson week. If you want the contestants to stop singing so old-fashioned, stop forcing them to pick songs from the goddamn Barbra Streisand song book. If a video game like Rock Band can afford to license contemporary songs, surely to God one of the highest rated shows on TV can afford to shell out for artists from this decade.

I think I strained my eyes by excessive rolling after they announced last weeks theme, I hate their themes.

No surprise PRG was sent off, Jasmine was a bit of one for me since the judges seemed to like her so much.  Stupid theme choice to go with Micheal Jackson songs, way to stay current AI!  I hope the upcoming themes are better than this weeks and that Megan can last a bit longer.  I'm wondering who the judges are going to "save" this season using the new rule.  My guess would be Gokey/Adam/Lil if any of those got voted off before the top 5.  It will also be interesting to see if they get to the top 5 and haven't used the save yet, will they keep a singer just because they can?

I didn't listen to much of the Kayne West song, it seemed a bit electronic and screechy but I did get a laugh out of what the band costumes were.  Kelly's song was decent (I know it has been out awhile but I never listen to radio stations that would play it) but the title sucked (hehe) and it seemed disconnected every time she sang the title refrain, way too long IMHO.

This week only confirmed my initial impressions: Megan is an awkward mess and Adam is an utter douche. I was pleasantly surprised by Matt (the piano guy who can see), and the 16 year old gumby-face seemed pretty good again, but other than that, the show waws a big serving of meh. I'm guessing Jasmine goes home, but I'm not sure about the 2nd. I'll pull a shocker and predict Megan bites it.

Can't see two girls going home, that would leave 3 girls and 8 guys for the top 11.  Anoop probably should be gone with that performance but the judges are pimping him up so he may survive.  Megan sang better than Jasmine IMHO but again the judges hit her for song choice and didn't really comment on the same issues for Jasmine.  Much as I hate Adam, he did provide the best act last night and I really didn't like Pinky Tuscadero in the pimp slot singing Dirty Diana, maybe it is the song itself but the staccato rhythm really didn't work for me dawg!

Predictions?  Man I just don't know..... sigh Megan due to judge hatin' (and yeah the song was a bad choice) and jeeze I don't know, Kris Allen or PRG.

Hmm not liking some of the new release prices.  Joker One (story about a platoon in Iraq) is getting very good reviews and was just released today.  Hard cover price= $15.60  Kindle price= $14.30,  while I don't like extra books cluttering up my shelves Amazon needs to have a better enticement than saving $1.30 for me to get this on the Kindle and not go for the hardback edition.
