No, it has not been announced. IX was on the DS, X was on the Wii, but only in Japan (MMO).

Then X /was/ the one I meant.Tongue

Also, where's the VII re-release also?

PS4 comes with a 500GB HD, HDMI cable, and a headset. Camera sold separately:

http://www.gametrailers.com/side-mission/54359/ps4-comes-with-a-500-gb-hdd-hdmi-cable-headset-camera-sold-seperately

Also, said camera is only $60. So even if you buy it it's STILL cheaper than the Xbone.

Don't forget - on the Xbone, you need to buy the Battery Pack to make your controller truly rechargeable (short of using rechargeable batteries, yes). For no doubt another $40. It's standard on the PS4.

No it's not, unless you already have the PS Move stuff.

But that's fine, I don't /want/ the Move shit.  ($59 for camera, then $19-29 each for the Move controllers)

Solidly out for at least a year. Seriously, there is absolutely no reason for me to buy this. When the price drops to sub $300 there will be tons of games at $20 and less to play.
49  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: E3 2013 - Sony up later. on: June 10, 2013, 09:21:06 PM
Well, I'm officially out on the Xbone for ... well, until they get some sense.

$499, possibly no used games, required internet connection....

Yeah, not a chance in hell.  It's like they learned absolutely nothing from the PS3 launch debacle.
50  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Based entirely on the 1st presentations of the PS4 / XBOne, which would you buy? on: May 26, 2013, 06:57:21 PM
I find myself completely unimpressed by both thus far.

I'll wait on them to be cheap, and play on current-gen + PC until then.

It's not like I don't have tons of games to play.

Did they fix the key binding and software mouse emulation where you can actually bind the keys you want, and have the mouse actually work?

Did they also revamp crafting to where it isn't such a giant pain in the ass?

Switching gears for a moment... There is a lot of lore in the game - is any of it from the Neverwinter RPG games? I'm really not up on my D&D at all. Did the Sword Coast exist prior to the Baldur's Gate PC games? I mean, there's no "canon" when it comes to D&D outside what is the rulebooks, right?

The lore is all from the Forgotten Realms modules and books. The game story itself runs parallel to the Neverwinter series of books which I actually was reading before I even knew about the game (or realized there was a tie in). The books are actually pretty good and take place about 100 years after the events in the earlier Drizzt books (yes, I have a guilty pleasure for bad pulp fantasy biggrin).

I may have to check those out eventually.  I just noticed they released a lot of the older FR books on the Kindle, so looks like I may be re-reading a bunch of the older series,:The Moonshae Trilogy, The Empires Trilogy, Shandril's Saga, Maztica, The Avatar series, Finders Trilogy and Druidhome.

Haven't read those in probably 20 years, but I remember liking the Avatar series and the Moonshae, but not much else. RA Salvatore's stuff was hit or miss, but he did a pretty good job with this latest series.

I'm reading them all in chronological order currently.  I'm at 1372, dealing with the last book of the Cleric Quintet.

Read so far:

Netheril Trilogy (Sword Play, Dangerous Games, Mortal Consequences)
Elminster: The Making of a Mage
Elminster in Myth Drannor
The Temptation of Elminster
First Drizzt series (Homeland, Exile, Sojourn)
Escape from Undermountain
Pool of Radiance
Moonshae Trilogy (Darkwalker on Moonshae, Black Wizards, Darkwell)
Pools of Darkness
Icewind Dale Trilogy (The Crystal Shard, Streams of Silver, The Halfling's Gem)
Spellfire
Azure Bonds
Crypt of the Shadowking
Crown of Fire
The Legacy
Starless Night
Hand of Fire
The Dream Spheres
Shadowdale
Tantras
Waterdeep
The Wyvern's Spur
Song of the Saurials
Siege of Darkness
Shadows of Doom
Cloak of Shadows
All Shadows Fled
Horselords
The Night Parade
Dragonwall
Crusade
The Parched Sea
Curse of the Shadowmage
Canticle
In Sylvan Shadows
Night Masks
Elfshadow
Ironhelm
Viperhand
Daughter of the Drow
Tangled Webs
Windwalker

Missed in the List:
The Council of Blades (1217 DR)
Swords of Eveningstar (1348 DR)
Swords of Dragonfire (1348 DR)
The Sword Never Sleeps (1348 DR)

Currently Readin:  The Chaos Curse (1362 DR)

68  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Neverwinter on: May 06, 2013, 10:44:28 AM
The shine is wearing off a bit.

I'm still playing, and definitely enjoying it for a hour or two here or there....but there are issues (and I hope Cryptic fixes 'em).

One, the auction house is ... well, let's just say it's about the worst AH I've seen since Star Wars: The Old Republic.  You can only view up to 400 items at a time, you can't search without choosing a category first, you can't sort by anything except, apparently, buyout price...and even that doesn't sort correctly as it only sorts one digit at a time, so it's 1, 10, 100, 2, 20, 200, et al.

Two, bags being completely a cash shop option is /almost/ a deal breaker.  The only things that really save it are that you do get two bags through quests and a decent starting bag size.  Also, the fact that you can spend AD to buy Zen to buy a bag isn't a horrible thing either.

Three, most of the loot you pick up is ... nearly worthless, when you think about it (and this ties into #4 below).  When you have a real money parallel, and we know that $1 = 100 zen and that 1 zen = around 425 AD...finding items in the mid 20s (+3 greens, as an example) selling for 10-20 AD really means that 95% of anything you get is going to be vendor trash.  Of course, this is partly due /to/ the numerous currencies involved with copper/silver/gold (in much smaller supply than you'd expect of D&D or Forgotten Realms), Astral Diamonds and Zen.  It just feels that for the most part that Gold et al feels somewhat worthless in the long run.  Oh and don't forget all of the seals, bars and other crap you accumulate as currency.

Finally, tradeskills are a giant timesink and with the exception of Leadership, appear entirely worthless.  Nothing that I've tailored so far up to level 7 is worth selling with the exception of the updated shirt and pants.  Then, when you have a rare thing to craft and it's a blue....finding out that you have about a 8% chance of actually making the good item without having a ton of extra assets is disheartening.  Then, there's upgrading your crafters and the 54-hour insanity that's involved (although I can see it only being 36 hours if you do one, then have each of the 2 do 1 more each...)

Anyway, I'm sure Cryptic is working on things, and this hasn't been out very long.  It just seems something I'll play to 60 and then rarely touch after that.
69  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Gearbox and Sega get slapped with a lawsuit on: May 01, 2013, 11:03:23 AM
The ultimate solution to this is what we really need to begin with:  Consumer protection laws on software.

This concept of 'you open it, you can't return it', and 'you agree to the EULA by opening the box' is complete shit.

Admittedly, I'm probably solidly in dream-land on this, but that would be one thing that'd keep some games from being released as complete shit.   Of course, piracy will be the reason cited as while this'll never happen.

They're having some issues right now, but they're working on resolving them. They're posting updates as they happen in this thread.

I'm spending some time in the Foundry, working on my third quest, while this resolves. Turns out A Hidden Blade got featured again today and a patch was released that multiplied the maximum tips by 5, which I'm certainly noticing. I've probably earned more than 20k Astral Diamonds today on my Foundry content alone. smile

I don't know if you noticed, but I played your adventure, and it's certainly merited that you get the astral diamonds - well done!

I noticed. Thanks! smile Just started working on the third quest in the campaign when the servers went down for maintenance. I've got a pretty clear idea of how it's going to work, and I can't wait to make it.

This is a very different type of MMO from DDO, so a burnout from that game shouldn't be a problem. It doesn't feel like your typical MMO either, though it does fill a lot of the tropes anyway. It's not a WoW-clone.

God damn you were right.  I'm absolutely LOVING this game.

Apparently someone, btw, has also already put B2 (Keep on the Borderlands) in Foundry.  Can't wait to see if this thing gets pulled for copyright.

I'm going to dick around with Foundry myself and see if I can get a semi-simple quest with the Cult of the Dragon or Zhents done, hopefully with options for good or evil outcomes.

You should be able to get them by level 5 I believe, just open the astral diamond page and claim them.

WARNING! The Astral Diamonds are BOUND to the character you claim them on, so please don't accidentially delete it, and make sure its one you want to play with!

Actually, you can trade them to other characters you own on the same Shard.

Put them on the ... whatever the way to sell them is, then cancel the sale.  It goes into something that you can claim from any character you have on the shard.

Depending on what anime you watch Crunchyroll/Funimation (Now that they are finally fucking working) on a Roku work rather well.

You're right, and I really need to subscribe to Crunchyroll.  Granted, with the recent spate of heavy censorship of TV episodes in Japan, I have to wait on the BDs to be released there /anyway/.
