Yeah, over here it depends on whether it's considered private land or not. We have a local spot that's very popular for urban explorers, a former self-sustained correctional prison. The problem is that the land is owned by an individual who doesn't like people trespassing on his land. But people love going there despite that as it's full of history:

You nailed it, there is an excitement to know you are trespassing and not wanting to get caught, but the history of a building and the people who were there is fascinating.  Found paperwork close to 100 years old, stacks of medical journals at a mental hospital, old newspapers, thousands of black and white photos, etc.  Through Facebook, I've found people who's parents worked at an abandoned rail yard close by, and people who would go to a now abandoned water-park when they were kids...I like to think I'm doing it with good intentions.

Have not explored an abandoned city yet.  I know there isn't much left, but salton city is on my bucket list.

Last time I explored a ghost town, I got locked in a jail by Jim Backus.  Good thing I was wearing a belt.

Someone is going to have to explain this to me.

Urban exploring.

urban exploring? What is that? I have visions of you walking into the wrong alley and getting a beat down for your exploratory nature.

It's sometimes like that; wondering around dark allies, trying to find a certain vacant building and a way in...and I'm carrying $1000 worth of camera gear...glad I've ran into police and not people looking to rob me.

I prefer rural areas, but they have their own risks.  Coyotes don't really bother people, but I've seen evidence of them being in the area.  Heard them too.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHLA85pUr1o

Found a skeleton of a black bear about 1/4 mile away from where I recorded the coyotes howling.  Brought the skull and a few claws home.

Has a lot to do with the level of disposable income as well.  I don't feel like I have to play the hell out of a mediocre game just because it's the only one I'll be able to afford in the next 60 days.

You explained that better than me.  I blame it on the time I spent in a crazy mental hospital buildings.

I edited this alot.  Sidetracking the purpose of the original post too much.

Not me, I'm garbage at multiplayer.  If I can't get 50 kills in a big team battle where everyone averages 10, Fumble isn't happy.
13  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: How long do you give a game to capture your interest? on: October 24, 2015, 12:32:34 AM
Old me played just about anything just for achievement points.  Took the fun out of what should be a break from reality.  Not sure if the game is worth the money?  There are gameplay videos everywhere.  Games with Gold and the EA Vault gives plenty of options.  If I'm frustrated after an hour, I'll move on to something else.

Hope I didn't miss a post where this was previously discussed, but did anyone else get the new dashboard preview?  Not just the app where you can try backwards comparability and whatnot,  the full 1.1gb "now my dashboard looks even more like a squareboard website" update.  WHY!?  Now I know the movie "Idiocracy" isn't just a funny movie, its a documentary.  Stupid is winning.

True, but he also risked his gravitas with his supporters by being the first president to ever appear on an irreverent, youth-culture TV show. A lot of people were scandalized. Did it help his image with the young? I doubt it. We kinda resented the vietnam war.

Was not the first, Bill Clinton did a show on MTV back in '92: http://www.nytimes.com/1992/06/17/us/the-1992-campaign-youth-vote-clinton-goes-eye-to-eye-with-mtv-generation.html

Nikon D200 with a 30-70mm lens and 2 batteries. Works great, with minor wear and tear (some very minor scratches). Selling because I don't use anymore.

$100 Amazon or Paypal.

Lee,

I'm having trouble finding info on the lens...is it also made by Nikon?

Thanks.

Put in some work, pre-orders are not needed.

Got my PS3 at launch, girl at Gamestop called me to sell me the console.  Need details?  Use your imagination....

X360, got off the shipping truck at Circuit Shitty 3 days after launch from a dude I went to high school with.

Not worth bothering now though, gonna wait a year, non backward compatible fucktardness....

With that said, I'd like some respectful discourse about what you all own, what you carry, how you carry.

Glock 19 with Glock 17 magazines.  Glock 19 standard mag is 15 rounds, I prefer the Glock 17's 17 round magazine.  Open carry too.  Its funny to see people walking towards you suddenly turn around like they just saw a serial killer.  Also, Blackhawk serpa holsters.  The drop leg one makes people run for the hills.

Gotta go high speed / low drag.

I saw a new hack with the tank tonight.  If you can flip the tank over on an angled road, the turret goes under the map and you can see everything.  The tank does take damage for being upside down, but someone was repairing it the whole time.  They somehow had the tank pinned against the wall at an anglel, so the guy making repairs was under cover.  Tank wouldnt blow up.

I'll try to find a video.
