1  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / PC Fallout 4 key $45 on: November 10, 2015, 09:19:59 PM
I may have double ordered the game. My Pipboy edition looked like it was not coming, but now it looks like I might get it tomorrow before 8pm. If I do, I will sell the key that comes with it for $40. Let me know if you are interested.
2  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: September 12, 2014, 11:53:36 AM
I can confirm the game works fine without Gold on my 360.  I played without any problem and even saw other players in the main city and in one of the missions I did.  I don't know if those players were with or without a Gold membership, but I was shooting along side them in Old Russia.  I did not communicate with them or try to team up, so I don't know the extent of what can be done without the membership.  Hope this helps anyone make a decision!
3  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: September 11, 2014, 05:37:20 PM
I know the solo aspect has been mentioned here briefly, but can someone spell it out for me?  I have an xbox 360 with no Gold membership.  I enjoyed the Halo games and I can play a few hours of Borderlands 2 before needing a break - all of this solo.

In fact, I've only spent maybe 30 minutes in total of all my gaming time (since 1984!) playing multi-player modes (not including true mmo games like WoW, etc.).

So without a Gold Live membership, how much milage will I get out of Destiny?  Can I play most modes solo?  I wouldn't mind giving this game a try, but don't want to buy a Gold membership on top of the game just to be able to play mostly solo anyway...
4  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / iPad 3 (32gb) with Belkin Leather folio case most likely for sale on: February 17, 2014, 12:44:04 AM
I am most likely selling my iPad3 with 32gb and Belkin Leather folio case.  The iPad works like it did the day I bought it new at the Apple Store - it is in excellent condition.  It runs perfectly and is in excellent/new physical condition.

Right after I bought the iPad, I brought it directly to the Screen Protector kiosk and had them apply the layer.  It is invisible - you would not know it is there, yet it works great.  So the iPad3 has been encased in the folio and screen protector since I've had it - it has never been exposed.  I am the only owner and operator - no greasy kid hands have touched it!

I am happy to answer any questions about the folio or iPad.
Of course the wall charger & usb cable come too.  I think I have the original retail box too, but need to double check.  I also think I have a stylus or two to throw in.

I need to sell everything for $350 - please contact me if you are interested.  I can send pictures, etc.  I don't really want to sell this, but kind of need to sell it - which is why I wrote "most likely".  Please understand if I back out before the sale is final!  Thanks.

5  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: Anyone have WoW CEs? on: June 28, 2013, 03:57:30 AM
Thanks Z.  My wife shot down the WoW idea.  I was going to get them for my 11 year old son to get into the game as he has a few friends who play the game.  But she doesn't want him "hooked"... I think I agree anyway.
6  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Anyone have WoW CEs? on: June 25, 2013, 05:23:42 PM
I'm looking to buy or trade for any of the World of Warcraft CEs.  Don't care if codes etc are used, but only interested if all original items are included.
Also interested in Warcraft 3 CE.
PM me if you have them and what you would want for trade/$$$.

8  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / PC component upgrade options? on: June 25, 2013, 12:39:13 AM
It's that time of year - as a teacher I got a slew of gift cards... Ok, just about $150...

I'm thinking about upgrading my rig to keep up with the curve, or at least keep up one or two steps behind.

Currently have:
Alienware Aurora R2
Win 7 home premium 64
intel core i7 860 @ 2.80ghz
12 gb ram
ATI Radeon HD 5800 series 1024 mb
GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x 16

Anything here worth upgrading for around $150?  Or should I spend the money elsewhere, like save up for an Occulus Rift thingie?  Your help is appreciated in advance.

Trade for another Steam game?  or $15 Amazon card?

11  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: FS: Book of Sith, Path of Jedi Vault editions, Darth Malgus statue on: January 28, 2013, 10:22:42 PM
Oh, I'll also throw in this Chewbacca iPhone 4/4S case!

12  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / FS: Book of Sith, Path of Jedi Vault editions, Darth Malgus statue on: January 27, 2013, 06:35:13 PM
I'm looking to sell the following either as a set or separately.

The Path of Jedi book, Vault edition.  Comes with everything in like-new shape, including the cardboard box.

The Path of Sith book, Vault edition.  Also comes with everything in like-new shape, including the cardboard box.

The Darth Malgus Gentle Giant statue from SWTOR.  Comes with certificate card, box, and all parts of the statue in like-new shape.

I'll do $65.00 per item, plus shipping (I'll cover delivery confirmation and insurance).  Or pay $150.00 for everything, plus maybe fifteen bucks to help cover some shipping costs, but I'll still cover the dc and insurance.

I'm happy to take photos and send them/post them upon request.  I will of course answer any questions about these items.  Thanks.
13  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/360/Ps3]Far Cry 3 Reviews are coming in! on: December 03, 2012, 03:03:25 PM
I haven't touched a story mission yet... I've spent most of my time hunting to make containers.  This way I will have more weapon choices and more storage for loot.  I hope this doesn't make the game, especially the earlier missions too easy.  I might have to bump up the difficulty if that's the case.  But it was too annoying to keep running out of room for loot and ammo, so I had to get those containers!

I pre-loaded it on Steam... How would I go from there to playing assuming I had a VPN service?  Is BT Guard a form of VPN?  (Ok, how do I go about getting one, or is that not a topic meant for here...?)

There's lots of options but I used Cyber Ghost (google it, it's free).  I had used this over a year ago to unlock some game and surprisingly I still had an active account, just needed to reset my password.  You install the app, hit connect, start Steam and you're good to go.

Thanks - worked like a charm!

I had pre-ordered the CE on Steam and so far cannot tell how worth it it was for in game content.  However the Survival Guide pdf is very cool - i put it on my ipad and it looks great.

The game itself is fun - one of the first games I've ever played that made me fear heights... Climbing those rickety towers is more tense than i would have thought!  Walking around is also tense due to animals lurking about.  Crossing roads can be nerve wracking as enemies seem to drive by almost every time I step out onto the road.  One time I dove into the bushes (only 3 bullets to my name at the time) as a car approached.  But this time it was the good guys... I stepped out of the bushes very embarrassed...

Saving stinks for an open world, exploration based game.  I saved each time I silently took out guards around an enemy base only to die but I was teleported back to the starting village!  This game needs a quick save.

Only other complaint is the UI, as mentioned many times across the internet.  Stop sending me reminders to go see Dr. Whoever!  I'm trying to sneak up behind a bad guy, no bullets left to my name, and suddenly it's like Jimmeny  Cricket is on my shoulder telling me what to do.  Hopefully mods will come out taking care of all the pop-ups, etc.

Otherwise the game is very fun and immersive.  When I finished my session last night, it told me I played for over 4 hours.  Looking forward to the next session.

How are people playing this already?  Isn't it out Dec 5th or something?

Australia was today (tromorrow there) EU is tomorrow (Friday) Also Blackbeard has got his copy.

Anyone try using a VM host in Australia to get it to activate in North America or does that trick not work any more for Steam games?

That's what I did, I live in Arkansas and it worked without any problems.  I did have to pay $2 for the VPN service, I thought about using a free version, but decided against it.

Worked like a charm (German VPN).  I only played about 30 mins but the intro was pretty awesome.

I'm going exploring in the jungles of Costa Rica in a week so this should be the perfect game to play after I get back smile

I'm most likely selling a like new copy of AC3 for the 360. I just bought PC version, so if it runs smoothly I'll sell the console version. Still has unused uplay passport code if that matters.

Let me know if you are interested and we will figure out the details.

I'll throw in a Steam coupon for some % off most AC games... I'll post the actual amount when I get home.

Edit:  50% off prior AC games

Looking to sell trade an almost unused copy of Zelda Ocarina of Time for the 3DS.  My son played it once and gave up.  No interest in it.  This generation... sheesh...

Asking for $25, but open to negotiation.  Might consider trades for PC or 360.

Game is complete with box and manual.

Excellent viewing!  I was shouting at my screen the first time I played during the Avatar's first conversation with Lord British.  Thankfully the dialogue patch fixed it... the best it could!
21  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: GOG Ultima Week / Indie Weekend Sale on: August 27, 2012, 12:10:16 PM
It is worth $4 even though it is buggy.  Just be sure to find the fan patch that replaces the dialogue with sane, logical-to-Ultima dialogue.  Turn off the voice soundtrack or you'll read the good stuff while listening to words that make your ears bleed.

I have been the biggest Ultima fan since III, and while U9 was a travesty - I forced myself to enjoy it for what it was.  I played through it twice: once with the original script and again with the fan patch.  The world is quite amazing, at the time at least.  There are many hidden cool things, and some of the attention to detail is excellent.  However, for all the good there is an exact and equal amount of bad.  Most Ultima fans focused on the bad as it was such a disappointment.  I was one of them who was disappointed, but knowing it was the last I would see of the "Trilogy of Trilogies" I tried to enjoy it and found that it wasn't as difficult as I thought.  To this day though, every time I see this game I wish they had stuck with the original plan of an over-head, 3d, rotatable map that was previewed in many magazines years ago.  I wish I was in the old TV show "Sliders" so I could find an alternate reality where that original U9 game was made!

So, um... yeah... it's worth $4.00... saywhat

Dropping price one time to $65.  That's $35 in free food and movies.  I'll try Craig's List too, but as always would rather trade/sell them here and OO.

So that's $100 for $65...

Yes me again with more gift cards.  No, I didn't hold up a truck or rob CVS.  I'm a school teacher who gets many cards that don't get used.  I had two bathrooms go down the drain (ha ha) and in the midst of re-doing them, the mess has moved into my office.  I have discovered more cards!

I have two $50 gift card packs that consist of a $25 Applebees card and a $25 AMC movie theater card, for a total of $50 for Applebees and $50 for AMC.

Here is the exact set for sale at Target.

I am asking for $50.  You are getting $50 free $25 basically.  PM me with questions or more details.  I just checked the balance and the cards are valid and unused.  I can ship the cards tomorrow (hopefully!  I am behind in sending off two other trades, but hoping tomorrow is the day...)

Also might look into Viva Pińata... I think Banjo and Viva come in a 2-for-1 set!

After playing video/computer games since the 1980s, I am at a loss for finding an appropriate xbox game for my 10 1/2 year old.  He's played the Halo games, Call of Duty 4 (only once a month... like that was supposed to dilute graphic violence), tried Brutal Legend, loves Minecraft, etc. etc.

So I'm at Gamestop with him trying to find a game without graphic violence and language, and I can't think of anything.  The store manager recommends Bad Company!  Based on my requirements!  CoD 4 was too far over the line, and even Wolverine Origins starts with blood dripping from his claws (the movies didn't have that!).  Any good games along the lines of Halo that would be age appropriate.  I'm having a complete mental block!  Gears of War is too graphic as an example of being inappropriate.  He's played the Simpsons game.  Is Crackdown appropriate?  He might try Forza 4.  I was thinking Jedi Outcast from the original xbox.  Anything like Zelda for the 360?  All random thoughts, but I'm stuck for an idea!

33  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic announced on: August 09, 2012, 07:43:31 PM
My  local Gamestop has the CE version for $30 down from $150(?).  Is the game worth it at that price given that it is ftp?  I know it is mostly paying for the CE items, but would I get $30 of enjoyment out of the game?

I have played WoW and a few other mmorpg games, but mostly for the "free" month and always soloing.  I just like running around the game world to explore and take in the cool sights and atmosphere of the universe.

I am a SW fan to the point that I liked the movies, played the Dark Forces / Jedi Knight games and a bit of KotOR.  I have also dabbled in the extended universe stuff and generally enjoy most things SW, but no where near fanboy territory.  I love checking out the SW art books and reference material.

So with that background, do you think buying the CE is worth it for $30?

Well I sold my old iPad on Craigslist and then bought the 32gb one.  With icloud back up, I registered the new one and recovered everything.  Within minutes, the new iPad was set up just like the old one... but with twice as much room!  Cha-ching!  Bring on Baldur's Gate now!  And now I'm looking for extra cash for the Apogee Jam for my guitar so then I can really get this thing cooking!
40  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Need help: my verizon phone stinks, need to exchange somehow... on: June 27, 2012, 02:56:47 PM
After posting the Razr Maxx to Craigslist, I continued to have problems.  It was truly a lemon of a phone.  I'm sure it was a random fluke, and others are problem free.  So two days ago I call my local Verizon store and speak to a lady who I think I talked with in store before buying the Razr.  She has no idea who I am but tells me to come in, ask for the manager, and they will look at the phone.

I head in and she instantly remembers me and tells the manager that I am cool, that I've been in before and been very funny (???).  I tell him the problems I've had with the Razr and Androids in general.  He says he'll check to see if they have a new Razr, but I tell him at this point I'd rather just have the iPhone.  He says fine.

Next thing I know, I am buying the new iPhone 4s, 64gb, at the two year contract price and minus the cost of the Razr.  I also paid the "restock" fee...  So finally, after having had 3 Droid Incredibles, 2 Thunderbolts, and the RM over the course of three years, Verizon did the right thing and let me do a straight easy exchange via the "manager's special".

I've had the iPhone for only a couple days, but so far it has been excellent, stable, and fast.  After having multiple problems per day with the Razr, it is such a relief to have a stable phone.  And going from 4g to 3g has not been an issue.  I have yet to notice a drop in speed.  So far so good!

Here's one for the books, boys... I've read so much about dealing with these phone companies and the strict policies and unbudging supervisors in call centers with an occasional success story... I'm now one of those rare happy customers with a good, fair solution to a long, on-going problem.  And honestly, it's just a cell phone, but after constant problems with my cell phones (my wife thinks I have some electromagnetic current in me that disrupts tech such as phones and computers since I always have problems!), especially having hourly problems with the RM, it is such a relief to be problem free and finally stop worrying about my damn phone!
