Ooh, forgot about that classic. This is the Lucasarts Xbox game, right?
That's the one. It was also on the PS2 and GC but the PS2 version had a slightly choppier framerate and the GC version didn't have any blood... everybody needs blood in their turn-based tactics.

bladestorm was a game i rented, loved and always wanted to go back to but not enough to buy it for what it was (and still is!) going for... doh!
I felt the same way about Two Worlds 2! I am going to make a dedicated thread for Bladestorm to see if I can get a bite. Thanks for the reply though, Vikki

If you are looking for a strategy game I'd be happy to trade you Bladestorm (Xbox 360 version). It is pretty darn good and the two games have the same preowned value according to Gamestop ($29.99). Thanks, Vikki ** Edit ** I just realized that you posted this in March... but if you still have Two Worlds 2 and want to trade, my offer stands)

I rarely (maybe one a year) purchase games at launch because I am patient and I do not mind waiting a couple of months for a cheaper price. However, and I know this is odd, but I am buying this on day 1 because I want to reward the devs for porting it to the Xbox 360. The PS3 is an awesome machine but it is just not in the budget and I have to admit that I had serious envy whenever I read about Demon Souls... it just sounded so interesting and different. So I am pretty stoked but I hope the Devs do not get too crazy on the difficulty, I like challenges but there is a fine line between tough and frustrating. Eitherway, I am all in on this one.

My list would be :
#1 TMNT - The underwater levels and the boss fights were insane. #2 Battle Toads - This makes the list based on the turbo bikes alone #3 Ninja Gaiden - ridiculous #4 The Simpson's game - NES Version (the one that starts with Bart on the skateboard) #5 Topgun: I never could land on that stupid Carrier
I personally did not think Mike Tyson's punchout was all that difficult to complete.
As for Battle of Olympus, I used to complete that game at the end of every summer when I was a kid... sorta of like a right of passage before school started. Therefore in retrospect I do not remember it being more difficult than the frustration fest that I have listed in my top 5.

Spectral Force 3
The major sin of this game is how back-loaded the content is. Once you get about 7 hours in and it starts to open up, Spectral Force 3 becomes a very solid SJRPG. With a roster of 40 characters to recruit, tons of equipment, and an interesting battle system, this game sucked up about 80 hours of my time. Despite its poor graphic quality, it was well worth the $29.99 I paid.
With all due respect, I could not possibly disagree more. I did the GT review for that turd, and would strongly consider SF3 to be the worst game I have played in the last 10 years. It jumped right on past what we normally consider "bad", and landed in the rarefied air of "spectacularly and utterly terrible". I can't think of a single redeeming factor in SF3, and Atlus should have been embarrassed charging $60 for that pile of steaming shovelware crap. Not that I have strong feelings on it or anything... I just read your review and I think you make valid points. To your credit: You are one of the few reviewers that clearly put a fair amount time into the game. I noticed at least 3 other reviewers made ridiculous comments like "Healers are unneeded, because your characters get more powerful as they take damage" We find agreement: Graphically weak Uneven Difficulty Tutorial would have been nice $60 price is way too high We Disagree: Gameplay: After reading your review, I feel you were so put off by the production values that you were unable to objectively rate the gameplay on its own merits... which btw is what I found so compelling about the game. SF3 is all about decisions: Should I take grind missions to keep all of my mercenaries at a competitive level, or just create stable of 8 powerful goto characters. How should I equip my team...should I create anti-magic characters who are better at slaying wizards and range foes... or just focus on modifying characters to load them out with plenty of AP and damaging Melee attacks. The crafting and item system allows for a lot of flexibility, I had one Samurai character loaded out with a skill enhancing item that let him move a second time after he attacked which fundamentally changed the way he played and gave me a first strike option in any battle. The combat system is fun and gets more rewarding as you go. Players need to make difficult decisions regarding whether they should use a an early level battle formation or hold off for a more powerful formation and risk losing the ability to do so if one of the characters die. The maps themselves are nothing special but do allow for tactical decisions such as: should I take the high ground, should I rotate fresh characters at a choke point or should attempt to hold a boost point and get my friendship gauge up. Do not get me wrong SF3 is no Gladius, but I found it offered more interesting decisions before and during combat than the last Fire Emblem and FF Tactics that I played. You clearly played the game and I respect that, but for you to say that is the worst game of the last ten years, either indicates extreme hyperbole or you simply do not play many games.

Trading my copy of Civ IV: BTS for UFO: The Extraterrestrials.
- I bought my copy to play multiplayer with my buddy who informed me that he no longer has an internet connection. - It is opened but it has everything that came with it when I bought it on Tuesday.
- I have traded with a few people in the past, PM me if you want their names as references.

You can also turn by aiming in the direction and pressing down on the Mouse Scroll button. I played this way back in 2004 for like 2 minutes and deleted it. However I downloaded the latest version a few weeks ago and I must say for a free game it is awesome. Me and two of my friends were playing an Aliens vs Humans game the other day in a mansion level and we had an absolute blast. I probably sunk about 10 hours into the single player before I got some save corrupt bug. I highly recommend it.

Well don't be too hard on Sony, MS recently announced they were discontinuing the basic version of their 360 too.
Of course, this thread will now devolve, yet again, into a big argument over the comparative "value" of the 360's features to PS3's features.
Are you saying MS discontinued the core system, that is huge news, do you have a link?

Thanks for the info Vikki-that particular rumor seemed far-fetched.
No Problem, I would be surprised if Bioware did not develop a game for the PS3 (there have been rumors about that for a couple years). As Hetz mentioned the standard HDD is probably very appealing for them and Bioware has no problem creating games for platforms with smaller user bases (ala Xbox) probably because they realize their games are going to sell no matter what system they are on. As for it being Dragon Age, maybe but one rumor from EGM is certainly not indisputable evidence that all should accept.

All I can say is that this move will do nothing to help Microsoft garner casual gamer support, something Peter Moore stated was a key Microsoft goal no less than a month ago. All the casual gamer is going to read from the announcement is that there's another console with a price tag in the extreme echelon that the PS3 now inhabits.
I'll wager that come year end M$ is going to regret this when they look at their overall sales. I had been fully expecting Wii sales to dip significantly in the 3rd quarter, but I'll bet this announcement helps Nintendo maintain consistent numbers. Trust M$ to get sucked into a feature war with Sony; it's as if they think the console game is another version of MS Office Suite vs Corel Office Suite.
In regards to the rumours that the core will be cancelled, it's interesting to note that Future Shop has dropped the price of the 360 core to $349 CDN for the next week. I can only speculate as to whether they're attempting to clear out last remaining stock or to combat negative impact from the Elite announcement.
I totally agree

I'd be very surprised if Dragon Age gets ported to the PS3. I follow the Bioware forums fairly frequently and no mention or hint of this has ever been made. IMHO this is definitely a pipe dream for some PS3 fanboy(s) at EGM.
What you just wrote sounds just like a 360 fanboys pipe dream....oh wait, it is! Why would you be so surprised? The PS3 is the only system with a hard drive standard. It makes perfect sense for a PC game to be ported to it. What a caustic sounding reply to a person's opinion that is grounded in some truth. Here is what Bioware COmmunity manager had to say about the rumor: Chris Priestly Community Coordinator There does seem to be some confusion here. I haven't seen the latest EGM, but we have announced Dragon Age is a PC exclusive title. I 'm not sure where they are getting the idea there is a PS3 version. I know recently, at the DICE conference, Ray was interviewed and mentioned that we're are working with the PS3. This part is true cuz as a company we are always looking at future possibilities or for new game ideas. I imagine many companies have PS3s, 360s and such on hand to investigate the possibility of developing games for them. BUt this wasn't Ray saying "DA is a PS# exclusive" or anything. It was just him saying we are investigating things (which we are). Maybe it's that comment that lead someone to make that assumption. And you know what happens when you make assumptions. You get umption all over yourself. http://forums.bioware.com/viewtopic....56977&forum=84Is it coming to the PS3? Maybe, who knows for sure but saying someone is pipe dreamer because they do not believe EGM's rumor mill is a bit silly.

Unbreakable, I just do not understand you. You make a what appears to be a broad reaching bigoted remark and when someone calls you on it you respond with statements like "do your own research". Qbe was giving you a chance to explain how you are able to paint an entire group of people with the same brush, but you avoided answering him. If you cannot back up your opinions with objective truth you just look like an intolerant bigot. Reading your post actually embrasses me for you.
