Wow, you guys are as bad as #GG. We should have a #GG vs. CG match sometime soon. We can set our server up for a private match. So when is it? Or is everyone too much of a pussy to show? /me eyes Harkonis. I'll take the shifty looking one.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / EB Games Price gouging ??

I don't see anything wrong with it. This is a collector's edition, so the fact it is going up in value is a very good thing. It shows Bliz was able to make an item people want and then release it in a quantity that would leave people wanting more, as a good collectors item should be.
EB is just charging the going rate, if they charged less someone would just buy out their entire stock and ebay it. At least this offers someone a known safe place to buy it from at what is just the going rate(maybe even under after some crazy bidding).
Now if the rumors of them canceling people orders at the normal price and then selling their orders at this price is true, that is pretty sleazy.

OK, You guys all seem to miss one of the important anti-steam arguments that 'conspiracy nuts' like myself have. I'm all for downloadable content delivery from the developer. IF that's all steam was about (and On-line play), I wouldn't care about Steam. However, I DON'T like having to install their personal ptp client software on my PC, doing god knows what, just so I can play a single player game (Which is all I wanted to do).
P2P Client? Huh? Did I miss something? The only time you will EVER upload any type of file with steam is if you are hosting a game server, running a custom map, and tell it to upload that map to clients without that map. Steam is not a p2p system, it is a server client system. Now, if you want to bitch about forced p2p go look at the Blizzard Downloader that comes with WoW. That is forced p2p (you can turn it off, but you also turn off all downloads from non blizzard servers so it goes really slow). Really all steam does is check your account when you play it and download new patches for you. I have no problem with that, in fact I like it a lot more then hunting for patches all over the net, or waiting in line for an hour at fileplanet every time a new patch comes out.

Its our hobby, and the joke is on us, the paying customer. What kind of industry can get away with selling something that its use is prevented by design?
This was a bad idea, internet activation for an offline video game. But its just a continuance of the screwing plenty of honest customers experience at the hands of copy protection day in and day out.
olaf In the end I will take something like this, a one time internet activation, over starforce any day. If anyone is to blame here it would be first off, Best Buy for jumping the damn gun and second VU for not seeming to care the gun has been jumped. At this point I don't think valve cares at all, the post made it sound like they would turn it on this second if VU wouldn't sue them into the ground for it.

I did it with the keyboard using the same strat. Kill everyone and then work your way from the top to the bottom. If you know where to go, and no one is shooting at you then you have plenty of time to do it.

What about the size of the hub you were in?
How big was it?
It might be hard to quantify, but for example, to explore most of it how long do you think it would take?
Most reports seem to say the game is going to be pretty long; I just want to make sure it isn't going to be long because you are running a lot of circles around the same areas.

Hop into #GG Val, Darkfyre, Sam and I are all playing it. Orph has an ATI ticket, but I don't think he has downloaded it yet. I think Office is the best done map for the new physics and such. I'm gonna wait and buy the retail DVD. If I'm gonna pay I want Media and whatever they put in the box.. Or you can just order the Gold package and they will ship the box, media, & other goodies to you. I'm pretty sure the gold version does NOT get game disks, just a box and a bunch of other stuff. For me it came down to 50+Tax for the boxed version with only CS and HL2, or 60 with no tax for silver with a ton of stuff. I like boxes, but in the end they just sit there. As far as installs go, I think I would rather just download it then install the 6 or whatever disks it comes on.

I first got a set of Grado SR90s, but they were just to damn loud. At a normal volume someone else in the room could call out the lyrics to what I was listening too. So while they sound great, if you really need quiet I would go with something else.
In the end I got a set of Senn 212Pros. They are sealed, so no sound gets out. They have stronger bass then the Grado ones, some might say too much, but over all they are not quite as good. Cost me about 50$, the SR90s cost about 90$.
I would also note that the SR90s were a lot harder on my ears, the pad on them was kinda rough. As far as I know you can get a softer one, but you need to buy it separate.
