For those that have watched it. Is it suitable for 9 years old?

I'm thinking of taking my niece to watch it. She loves Avengers but think that the first Captain America a bit boring.

Anybody got it from the eshop? It is a soccer RPG from Level-5.

It is supposed to be the same game as the DS version.

The DS version is only available in Japan and EU/UK region.

Went and saw it today. Perhaps I was overhyped from the Rotten Tomatoes reviews. I thought it was "cute" but not particularly hilarious or deserving of Best.Kids Movie.Ever status. My 4 year old was bored to tears within 30 minutes, which didn't help matters.

Still, as a Lego fan I really enjoyed it. I could have waited for a rental though.

I don't think it is the best kids movie ever but it is one of the best animation movies for adult.

About friends not appearing in game. Maybe they haven't added your friend code on their 3DS. Are you sure that they're now friend with you not just "provisionally registered friend"?

Another possibility is that they haven't started playing Bravely Default or haven't enabled the internet functionality in game.

A bit of a snag for me.  My SD card didn't have enough room to download BD so I downloaded to a new card.  I thought it would be easy to transfer the data over but for some reason it's not seeing the old programs and save data on the new one.  It's not a big deal, just a little annoying I can't access the demo reward goodies.

Other than that, the game itself still seems pretty fantastic.  Hope to get some quality time this weekend.

It should be easy to do that. I have done it several times before.

My procedure to switch to new SD:

1. Unplug old SD.
2. Copy all content of the SD to a folder on my PC.
3. Insert an empty new SD.
4. Copy all content from the folder to the new SD.
5. Plug in the new SD.

Future Me here. It was an entertaining and clever story but one glaring plot hole that opened up 10 minutes into the film was never explained, unless I missed something. Somebody tell me how

Spoiler for Hiden:
Looper Central (or the Rainmaker?) knows when a loop isn't closed. Suppose Bruce Willis just runs off through the cornfield and Gordon-Levitt never lets on that he didn't finish the job. How is anyone the wiser? I never saw any indication that there was any kind of verification procedure for any of the executions. Are we supposed to infer that the Rainmaker just knows?

This was also my question... they never explain that.

It bothered me so much that I paused the movie 10 or 15 minutes in and told my wife "if they don't explain that, I'm going to have a big problem with this movie." Then they didn't.

I also agree with the earlier comments about the TK aspect being extraneous and overdone. It served to
Spoiler for Hiden:
give the child Rainmaker a defense mechanism while demonstrating why the adult Rainmaker was such a terror.

But that's not the direction I would have taken if I'd written the story.

I love a good time travel story and this was a very good one overall, but not quite great.

Spoiler for Hiden:
I forgot much about the movie but our discussion here made me recall my theory about why Rainmaker want to close the circle and that can explain why he can know without any verification.

In the timeline that Rainmaker is in charge, a looper killed his mother so in the future when he is in control, he closes the loop on all loopers. He doesn't need any verification because the only looper that he is interested in stopping is the one that killed his mother and he know if the looper killed his mother or not.

So the looper movie is about two characters trying to alter the past to save someone. The Rainmaker is trying to save his mother. The Bruce Willis character is trying to save his wife. The paradox is that in his reality, the Rainmaker caused his mother's death because his agents killed Bruce Willis's wife. Same with Bruce Willis character, he caused his wife to die because he tried to kill the Rainmaker.

OK, I missed that entirely. It still doesn't make sense to me, though.
Spoiler for Hiden:
If he doesn't get verification that a loop was closed, how would he know that the unclosed looper isn't the one who murdered his mother? How does anybody know that they need to send enforcers out to hunt down the escapee?

Maybe I'm missing something here. Paradoxes make my brain hurt.  'tarded!

Spoiler for Hiden:
He is only interested in closing the loop on a single looper but he doesn't know which looper so he closes on all looper. He doesn't need verification because if the loop is close without incident then his mother survived.

Then there was a scene that just plain confused me.

Spoiler for Hiden:
When unhooded Bruce Willis appears, Gordon-Levitt fails to kill him and the events of the movie are set in play. Then we see the same scene where hooded Bruce Willis appears, gets shot, and the loop is closed. I get that they were alternate timelines, but I don't get how they were related.

Spoiler for Hiden:
1. My guess is that the Looper system include monitoring system where when they send someone back to be killed by looper, they also have someone else that watch the looper to make sure the looper does his job. This is especially important when it is about closing loop.

2. The scene where Bruce Willis appears and gets shot is the experience of the unhooded Bruce Willis. He killed his older self so he get to retire and grow old to be send back as unhooded Bruce Willis.

Where MS was really going with their online DRM was not a nefarious scheme to punish gamers. It was to follow the Steam model and advance digital distribution of games to the point where we could see stuff like digital trading, cheaper console game prices, etc. Unfortunately people only saw the downsides, so we've probably delayed a true Steam-like marketplace for console games by years.

It was not following Steam model but a more strict online DRM than Steam. If it was just like Steam, I don't think we'll see as much backlash from people here. We're used to Steam model and big customer of Steam.

OK the story that was posted 25-30 minutes ago on the front page about COD running on Xbone at 720p whilst running at 1080p on PS4 has me freaking out.     If Xbone can't handle a cross generation title at 1080 how in the devil are they going to promise me that this thing will last even 3 years, much less 7 or 8?

While I'm more interested in a PS4, I'm curious why it mattes so much on a tv/console what resolution the game runs in? Is it really that big a difference? Will most people know or care?

If xbone can't run the game at 1080p, then there is not much future for xbone. With PS4 if future games requires higher cpu/gpu power, they can still scale it down to run at 720p. With xbone that now only can run 720p, there are not much room to scale it down. They can't claim it is HD but run it at 480p so the only option is to reduce the detail. xbone's graphic will be of lower quality compare to ps4 version.

Yeah, I'm also not sure which one I want to pine after. The mini feels perfect, but I don't know how much of that is due to the size and how much due to the weight.

I too am wondering the same thing.

ipad mini is still much lighter than the ipad air.
the new ipad mini with retina is about 6% lighter than the old ipad mini and 30% lighter than the ipad air.

Before Obamacare, why employers pay for health insurance for their employees? Is there a law that force them to do so?

No, it is a legacy of the 1950s, when both healthcare and insurance were very cheap. 100% employer-paid health insurance was a standard part of most companies' compensation plans.

That was all well and good until costs started to skyrocket in the '90s. Whether or not it still makes sense for employers to be in the insurance business is a matter of opinion. Obamacare makes companies with 50+ employees either provide insurance or pay a fine -- the first time they've been mandated to do so.

If there is no Obamacare, what is stopping brettmcd's employee from dropping their insurance then? Why people are blaming Obamacare for employee dropping insurance coverage if before Obamacare, there are no law that forcing employee from providing it?

And many many more people will be entering those ranks as companies discontinue their health insurance.    If that was to happen to me I would be completely screwed.   I don't have the extra money to pay more for crappier insurance.

If your company discontinues their benefit, they'll have to compensate you with higher salary, right? So you'll have the extra money to pay more.

It is optional and it is $4.99 per year.

I think while free is better, the pokemon bank is a good idea and good thing since in the future it is likely that you'll be able to use pokemon bank to transfer to newer pokemon games. It makes things much easier for hardcore pokemon gamers that like to transfer their exclusive pokemon to newer games. Instead of having to do thing like transfer from game A to newer game B then from B to newer game C then from C to D, etc. In the future, we just transfer the exclusive pokemon to the bank and from there to the newest pokemon game.

Russia never would have gotten involved if Obama wasn't threatening to bomb their ally.

I think Obama's "red line" comments were stupid and it certainly looks as if they backed into a solution - but a solution that requires no effort from us that removes chemical weapons from the region seems like a Good Thing to me.

Did the red line stopped comments Syria from using the chemical weapons for several months before they decided to test the red line by using it once and if the US reaction because of the red line comments now stop Syria from using it again? If so then the red line comments is useful.
