Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / [WW] looking for some players on OO game
|

Hey everyone. I'm hosting a variant of the Warewolf style game over at OO, and still have a few open spots. The Rule of Thirds <--- over on OO teaser: The Rule of Thirds Since times long forgotten, the land of Trekongedommer has always been a land of three kingdoms. For hundreds of generations, each kingdom was kept in check by the other two.
The time of equilibrium has finally come to an end.
A decisive contest has been devised by the leaders of each kingdom. The struggle that has kept these lands in a constant state of war will end, and it will end here.
Or so they had hoped... The contest has been infiltrated by the menacing shape-shifting dragon, Dod.
Dod, indistinguishable from the other contestants, is immune to the magic of the Macht Stones, but has no trouble using them. Dod sees his chance to send the kingdom of men into a state of panic and will not let it slip by. If any of you would like in, please sign-up.

I remember these things being both gross and delicious at the same time. That's the meat and the sauce. I always thought it was strange that they make it look like you are eating the actual ribs themselves.

There is only one force on earth that would get them in a movie together, the Muppets. Muppet Movie man, that was 30 years ago...

It's funny, I know just the bloopers we're all talking about. He and Burt Reynolds really seemed to enjoy themselves. I remember SNL did a fake 'outtake' of Burt and Dom on Johnny Carson - just them all laughing - and it was hilarious... then Dom (Chris Farley) starts to wet his pants. It really just summed up the pure joy and FUN these guys had together. I want to find the SNL skit (still searching) - but here is the "original" of them on Johnny Carson.

Call me if it gets a season 2 then I'll rent season 1, but I'm not going to fall in love with a new show only to watch it get the shaft.
One of the toughest things to do in life is fall in love with something and then be forced to watch it get the shaft.

It's your child, but personally - I think BSG is way to adult (with all the baggage 'adult' normally comes with). And I also agree with others, a ten year old is perhaps not even inclined to like it. Heroes is going to be a 'violence' call on your part. Lots of people getting cut up. Throats, cut. Skulls, cut... it also screws around with the stereotype of a guy wearing horn-rimmed glasses to the point where it could serious scar a child at a deeply fundamental level. Oh, plus the show will only eventually let her down in the long run - so.

sure, cry wolf now and then when zombies really are attacking no one will believe them.
In all fairness, the signs warned of Nazi Zombies, so people could tell it was a hoax. Just a straight Zombie warning however, I'd take more seriously. Some one-armed Zombies are mistaken for Nazi Zombies, so I think it's best not to just let your guard down like that.

I know I am pushing the envelope here, but would you allow The Warriors to the party? Can you dig it? If not, certainly we'd need to add. Kung Fu Hustle And that makes me remember Kill Bill, and the head of the Tokyo Mafia.

So When Heroes went on break is the last time the wife and myself watched it. We have all the episodes since then on our DVR. They start with the Eclipse on the way and go up from there. But we cant get ourselves into a watching mood for the show. we weren't all that happy with the way it was going but there are some things that make us want to see them at the same time.... 1. We've invested so much time into the show already. Giving up is hard to do. 2. We love Hiro!!!!! Nuff said there. Everyone knows Hiro is the show. 3. Maybe it took a turn for the better? BUT..we are running out of room on the DVR so stuff needs to go. Im so torn. Really tempted to just say F it and delete them all. Need room for Handy Manny anyways Just watch em, you've got the bug. 1. Wife and I are in the same boat... we've had fun, if nothing else, just commiserating. 2. I've got a bit of a love-hate going with Hiro... There are times he's just too, well... too "Hiro". Frankly, love-em/hate-em... I think it's clear that Sylar is the show. 3. Hardly, maybe just a little right at the end, but they really haven't changed much... I think you should finish up this season and decide - bassed on the final season episode if you guys are Absolutely Done With It. Or if you'll check back in this spring. You'll be hard pressed getting anyone to tell you this is a Must See.

Sew a tennis ball to the back of her 'sleep-shirt'. No more sleeping on her back...
However, telling someone to wear a tennis-ball T-shirt to bed for the rest of your relationship is totally unrealistic.
So, meh.

Honestly, it sounds like you've got a pretty good head on your shoulders and are just blowing off steam once a week or roughly...
I do not think it sounds like you have "a problem".
Here is what you need to really learn how to do: Minimize your hang-over.
Try ending the night alternating between Beer and Water, or at the very least before you go to bed, drink a ton of water. You need water to keep your brain from dehydrating.
Do you drink light every night, and heavy just the one night - or are you not even drinking most nights, and then 1 heavy night a week?
I think if a person gets "drunk" once a week, even if it's basically a solo thing, that's not a problem. Some people aren't just that social to begin with.

My Must Have List:
General Search / Utility Shazam: Can listen to music (put your Iphone near a speaker) and tell you what song it is, etc. Google Mobile App: Voice activated search engine. VERY well done. AP Mobile News Network: You'll want one nice 'News' application, this is the one. Sportacular: Updated Sports scores/stats. There are a few out there, I found this one to be everything I needed. Now Playing: Every movie, and where it's playing and when it's showing at nearby theaters. Also has links to movie reviews and previews for movies at the touch of a button. Zagat 09: Restaurant, Nightlife, Shopping, and Hotel reviews. It's Zagats. Local Eats: Great if you live in a big city (or are ever going to be in one) and just want to know where to get a good bite to eat. Shopper: Makes nice shopping lists, it's gotten a ton of updates and is now a really robust "list" program.
Games that stand the test of time: Texas Hold'em: (Apple App) Great Texas Holdem game, single player - or you can play local wi-fi with friends. MotionX Poker: Dice Poker, really a VERY well done game. Fun to pick up and play for that 2-5 minutes you need to kill. Sol Free Solitaire: Good solid solitaire game, take it or leave it. (I really actually never play it) Caissa Chess: Great chess game Right of Way : Mill Bournes - great old card game, if you know it - this is it. If you don't know it, get it and remember I was the one who turned you onto it.
Reference: Free Translator : From any language -> to any language.... For free. Shakespeare : Every single work of Shakespeare, even if you aren't going to do anything with it - just to say you have it. (just 23 MB) Units: Converts Miles to Inches, Pounds to Stones, etc.
Fun Apps: Starmap : Planetarium on you iPhone Distant Suns : Same as above - I can't decide which I like more, so I still have them both. Koi Pond : You just gotta have it. It's silly and pointless, but beautifully done - nothing quite like it. Pyro Mania : Fireworks Ambiance : White noise maker - if you are into this sorta thing... tons and tons of sounds... Airplane, Beach, Waves, Subway, Sonar, Stopwatch, you name it.
Cool Geek Stuff: Mach Dice: Any amount of any sided dice - visually rendered and you roll em. Can create fun 'D&D' runs like 4d6 + 2 iLCARS: Star Trek TNG tricorder Seismometer : yep, it's fun. Lightsaber Unleashed : Hold on tight to your iPhone and start swinging your lightsaber. Fun stuff.
Other stuff on my iPhone: Flight Status : What time, gate, baggage claim - status, etc... good app. FlightTrack: Shows where the plane is, enroute (certainly not live - just estimated, still fun) Recorder : Record my 20 month old's cute little utterances and email them to people. What's On : TV Guide on my iPhone Sketches : fun, pointless little sketch program Constitution for iPhone: The whole thing, all at your finger tips Declaration for iPhone : same deal Classics : A bunch of books - the UI for this is VERY nice. Monarchy : All the kings of "England", bios etc. Presidents : All the presidents, bios etc. EleMints : Periodic Table on my iPhone. Google Earth : 3D Earth My Weather : a total network hog (so not so hot over cell, but very nice over Wi-Fi), has a wide-screen animated radar image that is not found in any other weather app.
Musical Instruments: Band Drum Kit Pianist Guitarist XyPhone iKoto Harmonica Cowbell Plus
... I have a problem - clearly
