So that suit is just skin tight right? If so, holy biceps Batman, Ben Affleck looks freakin huge.
84  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [TV] Hannibal on: May 10, 2014, 01:00:12 AM
Best show in television (IMHO) right now.
Just the cinematography alone is worth watching the series.

Hope microsoft gets some solid third party peripherals. I'm dying for a fighting joystick and steering wheel/pedal setup.

Is your xbox the newer version with built in wifi? Or the old with the wifi adapter?

you still get the heals out of combat, but don't think you do in combat.  Trying to play this with my fiancee controlling the firefly... it's not exactly bringing us together  ninja

Okay just watched the quick look at Giant Bomb, and they are playing normal. In combat (hard difficulty) the glowing plant/bush things only refill your firefly meter, but in easy it refills the firefly and recovers MP and HP.

I bought my wife new boxing gloves and new shin guards. Buying gear for our wife's hobby is a safe bet.

I recommend that RPG veterans start at the hard difficulty setting. The game is so much better tactically and timing so crucial in each battle (IMHO)

Yeah on Hard interrupts are very important.  Also, what's this I hear about getting heals mid battle on Normal without using potions/spells?  Do the flowers in normal regenerate health too and not just ignacious' meter in combat?

Combat, btw, is basically lifted from the old Grandia games, and that's a good thing.

Forge, is it the skill counter heal?

Looks good, just wish it has manual/crosshairs targeting instead of TAB targeting. Just  a minor complaint though, may still try it out

Child of Light is reviewing well with 8s most places.  Edge dinged it hard as did Polygon.  Now I've commented here before about what I think of Polygon, consider this, the CoL review actually caused another developer of a different game to write a critique of the Polygon review   http://zeboyd.com/2014/04/28/a-review-of-arthur-gies-review-of-child-of-light/

Nice read, thanks! I'll be picking this game up ASAP

The Last Federation, Dark Souls 2 PC, Warframe, BF4 Naval Strike, Titanfall are all possibilities.

Definitely will play a lot of Dark Souls 2 regardless.

I use Netflix and Hulu and find that almost anything I care to watch is there.  I can piggieback on my parent's amazon if need be.

Same here. For big sporting events (UFC &NFL) I go to my local sports bar

Lag hasn't been an issue since the head start for me, but the load times last night we're insanely long. It usually takes me a few seconds to log in or load into a new area but last night it was taking me almost 2 minutes.

Oh and the vanilla UI and features on ESO is just serviceable, so getting addons for the game is essential for those of us that want more input/feedback from our MMO UI

In all honesty, I had low expectations and thought I wouldn't enjoy the game after watching the quick looks from Giant bomb.
Very surprised how I'm really enjoying the game from crafting all the way to the combat.

1st person totally feels and looks better but forcing myself to play in 3rd person due to situational awareness.

I'll be playing mostly this weekend, so I'll send out invites if I see any friends on.
Next weekend we should set up a Geezers Gone Wild night like Pug suggested

Maybe a scheduled Geezers Gone Wild night is in order to get us to actually log on at the same time?

In other news, Respawn has implemented one of the best anti-cheat measures I've ever seen.  Instead of banning you when they detect a cheat, they force you to play solely with other cheaters.

Probably too late notice to set something up this weekend? How about we start planning a Titanfall night (or day) next week? Friday, Sat, or Sunday is good for me smile day or night

The reason why I love Sword Art Online (also Log Horizons) is because they convey how online relationships can be deep and meaningful (whether it's from a Guild, favorite party members etc)

Make the rounds at Amazon, price watch, new egg, for some deals. Even best buy or Fry's electronics have a good deal offer now and then.

I'm on the Stryder bandwagon, but I'm very competent with the Orge. It fits my playstyle perfectly and I can take on two Atlas's or Stryders and still come out on top.
120  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/360/XB1]Respawn's Titanfall on: March 19, 2014, 03:32:01 AM
More weapons, to me, seems like more balance issues and usually leads to an exclusive few that people end up using. Everyone remembers the Galiel right?
Every weapon in this game seems balanced and useful.
Wouldn't destructive environments make pilots cannon fodder?
