What happened to the October fight?

Short story version is that my opponent missed weight. Not by a little either, his KFC loving butt was two weight classes above 48 hours before weigh ins.  I wasn't not able to to accept the fight even if I wanted to due to commission regulations, however I was fairly compensated for showing up at weight.  Very anticlimactic end to a grueling fight camp in which my trainer had two world class strikers from Thailand help train me.

TWO weight classes?  What is that, 15 pounds?

Almost 18 pounds overweight, so ridiculous  disgust

I'm still on track for my last few fights for 2016. Next one up is in Phoenix, Arizona for the Muay Thai Open tournament from April 22nd-24th.

If I do well, I may get an offer that I will most likely refuse due to my age and mileage on this busted body.

I got up to level 14 with my Blade Master last night, but I think I'm going to reroll.  It was lots of fun at the start, but has become a little too Street Fighter-esque for me, requiring a ton of specific button combinations at specific times in order to be successful.  They weren't kidding when they listed the class as "hard" at character creation.

Looking at either a Destroyer or Force Master, as both look a little less strenuous on the reflexes.

So far Gratch, force master looks to be the less twitchy of all the classes that I've played. Don't be fooled by the destroyer though, that is my main at lvl 24 and now it's like playing Zangief with an axe....not even kidding.  But I love it. I have a lvl 21 Blade Master as well and yes it's hard to master. Harkonis can tell you all about the hardest class Kung Fu Master.

It's probably more along the lines if your friends are ganking you, you should have other friends.

To be fair, Harkonis would gank me just for the thrill of killing me, and not for my loot. Then I would eventually kill him....I would laugh, he would laugh, then after that kill everyone that is not in our party smile

OK, someone on my friends list needs to make a fighter pawn. There are none to be had so I am helping out randoms.

I have a Ranger pawn that fights mostly with daggers if that helps.  And I finally rested in the inn so she should be properly available.

I think Kato has a true fighter pawn as well with The Grey.  Looks like he has a giant hammer or something.

I think Kato's is a Mage.

I changed my pawn to a Fighter right away.  Even leveled that old bastard up a bit and got some decent gear for him.  Got lucky with some mats I picked up and was able to enhance his main weapon Hammer to lvl 3.

EDIT EDIT:  You guys have rested at an Inn so your pawn uploads, right?  I can't imagine that every friend I have playing hasn't done that yet (hence the empty list), but stranger things have happened...

I didn't know that you had to do that, so no 😳

I think this pawn thing is really super cool, like nemesis system cool as far as an innovation. I can't believe it hasn't been copied in the last few years.

Maybe this stuff is in the manual but I'll just ask here 😊 Is it correct that only your pawn levels when you play? So you have to periodically refresh your companions? Also, is there a max level for pawns you can pick up to prevent you from cheesing stuff?

Yes, Pawns only level when you play.  It's a good idea to refresh your pawn after you level them up and add new skills, weapons and armor.
No max level to pick up pawns to make things easier. It's just that if you go outside your friends list, the cost would be really really high if way above your current level.  Friends pawns, at least on the 360, was always free no matter what level

Really bummed, as I was having fun with it last night...up until I realized the system was totally borked.   icon_evil

So I'm friends with a bunch of you on Steam, but it says there are no Pawns available when I filter it to search by "Friends Pawns".

Does it not pull pawns from your Steam friends list?  That would suck...  frown

I think it does, but I know I haven't yet gotten to the part where I create my own pawn.  I just got to the little encampment after finishing all the quests in the main town I could.

Hopefully later today depending on how much time I spend with family.

It works. I've already hired Pawns from Razgon, Caine, and Hotfreak.  When you first zone in the place where you choose your pawns, the room will be populated by the pawns marked as a favorite and by your friends list first.
After that you can filter out what you need or want.  I like browsing my pawns with the creators name on top so I know who to pick smile

It does. Also, Pawns rented out via Steam friends cost nothing to rent (or so the Steam forums say).

I've grabbed it (and Kato apparently found me on the Steam friend list as I got a request yesterday or so). Looking forward to playing it....right before I go to work for the day.

Damn timed unlocks.

Yes the pawns were absolutely free when drawn from the friends list. This was how it was on the 360 so I hope this is the case on steam.  Glad I found Destructor on the GT steam group, and I will also be sending out more friend requests because for some reason never bothered to check the group page.

So for PC, Arrowhead finally blinked and made the aiming crosshair "always-on," with an option to disable that.

So if you weren't able to get comfortable with mouse/keys on PC, you may want to re-visit it now.  icon_smile

A couple nebulous posts at Arrowhead's Twitter account suggested we might want to "watch their news section" to see if anything new for Helldivers might be on the way. While I remain skeptical -- the Helldivers and ex-Gauntlet teams are working on a secret, unannounced game supposedly unrelated to its previous titles -- I would like to be wrong.

Good news. I do prefer the gamepad for Helldivers even though the keyboard and mouse controls are excellent.

Well, it seems like the first of four exclusive movies from Adam Sandler has appeared on Netflix with nary a fart sound.

The Ridiculous 6 showed up a week or two ago, and unlike most things Netflix produces it was not splashed across every header and advertisement space they have.  And for good reason, it pretty much falls in like with the worst terrible Sandler tripe despite having a bevy of recognizable faces in it.   thumbsdown

So glad they have three more of these to come...   Head meets wall

I watched the whole movie at the gym while doing cardio. I was able to tap into all the hate, despair, and disgust in my heart to fuel my workout with fantastic results. To be fair I love his older films like Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison.  But lately, Adam Sandler has been laying turds IMO.

-On a 4K television the game is a hot mess. It looks like an early PS3 game in terms of jaggies and soft textures. I can see the beauty in the design, but the textures ruin the experience. Many of my PS3 and Xbox 360 games look much better than this, and THAT generation is dead and buried. Its a shame to see the creative vision limited by the WiiU hardware, but only graphic whores will be displeased.

How do PS4 and XB1 games look to you on your 4K set? I brought my PS4 to a Fry's electronics and tried out a variety of 4K sets across multiple games and they all looked bad.

I'm curious as well. I might be upgrading my TV to a 4K very soon.

If you have it available try the Pharo SMG.  Super low recoil, fast movement while aiming down sights, 4 round burst that will continue to fire as you hold the trigger down.  I like it more than the VMP.  The Gorgon is OP for sure, I picked up one in a game that had some nice attachments on it and proceeded to kill fools with abandon until another Gorgon shut me down.  I have the Gorgon unlocked but haven't leveled it up too far yet as I'm working on the Pharo and the LCR1 and the Man of War and etc......

I now only use the gorgon if I'm really struggling. Nerf incoming for that weapon I'm sure, so get used to not relying on it. But enjoy while you can smile
Still having a lot of success with the X2 (3 round burst rifle) and the War Machine Assault rifle.
Leveling up the 7 round burst LMG at the moment, but so far I like it.
Pharo SMG is my favorite SMG so far. Especially if you do well with burst weapons
