Had a lot of fun playing with Hark and JarrodHk this morning.  Still learning how to effectively play with the Alien species, but other than that I'm having a blast.

Sorry you're not having a good time Jblank. Maybe this type of game isn't for you, I've had no problems with the campaign (hard difficulty) or controlling the other species.

Getting AvP for 360

Dood. It got a 5.75 in GI

Why would I care what GI thinks of a game?  I played the demo and enjoyed the game.  I hope enough people follow your line of thought and don't play it though, might make the in-game community a bit better slywink

Well, the bar will have been set pretty low if you're there so... icon_cool
In for AvP2 for 360.  Guess I'll be slumming it with Harkonis..... since the bar is set so low, right ATB?

played in two excellent pick-up groups tonight. The team leader of the 2nd group actually awarded his teammates with loot at the end of the deep space encounter. I want to know how to do that cause I want to be able to reward good team play. Hopefully that will catch on.

Anyone know how to do this?

Yes just press the "O" key which will bring up your social tab, select your team options and the loot options are there to choose

Going to trade this game in for AvP2 or Bad Company. I think my total play time is around 7 days, so I definitely got my money's worth.

I liked the demo but I really hope they add a mute option in the full version or I'll have to play without a headset.  Seems like the demo draws the worst crowd.

Which is why I almost always turn on the option to only hear people from my friends list.  Anyways, I thought the game was great (after I learned the controls for each species)

I think Vietnam could be pretty cool, because at least you'll get rid of all the old bolt action and semi-auto rifles and the weapons. You'll have the AK-47 and the M16 (albeit the old crappy one that jammed all the time).

Could have some cool killstreaks:
Napalm - drop it on the enemy and watch them run around on fire.
Agent Orange - makes any organic cover wilt away and makes enemies caught in the spray to slowly lose health.
USO show - brings in Playboy bunnies to distract the enemy.

I wonder what kind of optics the game will be utilizing (other than the standard sniper scopes)

My latest task is beating all the people on my friend's lists top lap times and doing it in a car that has less PI than them.  Makes it quite challenging.  I spent about 3 hours tuning a car to beat Kato's time on Road Atlanta Short and managed to beat his 200 time in a 162 car.

And you wonder why everyone hates you. slywink

It's not that we hate Hark.... we just hate his mad skillz on the track.   Of course Hark will also spend 3 hours tuning too.... now were is the magic tuning app so I don't have to spend that much time

Tuning gets very addictive and time consuming, but very fun.

Just bought both for the 360.  Playing Bayonetta first until the patch for Darksiders comes out (adding v-sync).

Edit: I have installed the Darksiders disc and only have an hour of playtime, no tearing issues yet.  Maybe later on in the game when things get more crazy

Why didn't anyone tell me the SPAS-12 shotgun was so good?  Pump action, sure, but it's a one shot kill even at a fair distance.

And it can be silenced!

Still a one shot kill silenced?

It's hard to tell but I think he's joking again. I don't think you can silence shotguns. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm sure they'll have a patch in the next 30 days to address the actual glitches and bugs...but IW doesn't have a history of rebalancing anything after a games release as far as I can tell...

....you're right and I don't think IW will ever issue a rebalance patch.  People like Hark and Mikagami use those lightweight kits sometimes to great effect, and the only thing you can do is adapt.  I don't believe at all that those kits are cheap or unbalanced.  IMHO dual-shotting/commando knife kit/or any other similar kit can be countered.  Switch to a kit that has claymores, noob tubes, c4, or even equip a shotgun for your secondary when inside close quarters with short sight lines.  Recognize the maps that give an advantage to your playstyle, and adapt accordingly when outside your comfort zone.

For my playstyle, I'm more successful when i pick perks and weapons that make me harder to kill, rather than picking a kit that focuses on pure damage.

Depending on the map i usually have:

1. Silenced weapon with heartbeat tracker
2. Bling perk
3. Cold blooded perk
4. Ninja perk

What is your playstyle?  I've played many matches with you and I can't tell what yours is.  icon_lol

However, based on your perks, I guess I'm the exact opposite as I prefer to mete out the most possible damage.  I'm concentrated aggression with some basic tactical go tos (flanking, moving from cover to cover, and the occaisional choke point defense).  I don't have the patience to sit in one spot.

In almost all cases I have:

1. Scavenger
2. Stopping Power
3. Steady Aim

My style is "Asian One-Eyed Pirate" style \ /

But really, I rarely stay still. I prefer to hunt by flanking, or chasing after Airdrops.  I attack the other team head-on in maps like Scrapyard and Terminal.
