Last night while I was playing Oblivion my wife walked into the living room and screamed, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!  I HOPE KATO ISN'T ONLINE!"

Not knowing what the hell she was talking about I asked what her problem was and she pointed at the screen and yelled, "RPG!"

I hope it's not too soon to find something like that a little funny.   ninja

 icon_lol icon_lol  Priceless!

Never too soon for me, in fact during the firefight I was laughing at how ridiculous the situation was.

I did my best LT. Spears impression (Band of Brothers) and ran out there to pull two wounded to cover.  I got hit bad, but in hindsight all of us in my unit made it out and they laugh at me for being slow.

All that camo and a bright neon green water bottle.

Too bad it wasn't the water bottle that got wounded.

I thought I could get away with carrying a fabulous looking water bottle (PeteRock approved color)

The insurgents apparently were anti-fabulous and decided to shoot my bottle with an RPG.  The explosion should have been fatal but I invoked the power of PeteRock's fabulous force field as shown below:

Recovering is going well.....have some new sexy scars but other than that I'll be 100%

Going to get evaluated tomorrow morning to see if I can be transported back to the states in September.  The chaplain came by to visit me to see if I was suffering PTSD.  I never had a problem with PTSD, I just have really crazy sleeping habits.

I finally have my own room with a computer and broadband internet (time to hook up my xbox and see how many friends I have left)

The medical staff took myself and 20 other wounded marines/soldiers out on a field trip to Luxembourg to see Gen. George Patton’s grave and to go inside a WWII German bunker.

I'm not too crazy about the local cuisine here, when I get back to the States I want a big fat steak.

Bah. The update should have been its own thread.  I'm just learning of this now.

My kids will be upset to hear that 'Antonio' was hurt...they didn't take to the name KATO.

My favorite was when my niece saw Kato on the Xbox live cam when I played Burnout.  She said ' Why's Kato look Asian?' O_o

Ha ha I remember that.  Even though that every picture you got from Burnout included me giving you the  finger

And people complain about asian drivers  ninja

I got a PM from a GT member (Suitably Ironic Moniker) that is actually stationed/lives right next to the hospital.  What a nice guy, I may shamelessly ask him for some good local food for take out  drool

I may in the states as early as next month.  Can't wait to play with you guys online again.  Hopefully even meet some of you in person.

Dogmeat continues to go on patrols with my Marine unit, and he has been officially adopted by my command which is good news.  The bad news is that he won't be coming back to the states with me  icon_cry

And yes Mytocles I am currently sporting a nice hospital gown that does not cover my backside.  I'd post a pic here but that kind of sexiness would get me banned.

Infinite Undiscovery is a probable, not sure if I'll grab it this week.  Disgaea is instant buy the day I have a ps3.  Mercs2 is me lined out outside the store waiting for it to open on Sunday.   ninja

Also Castle Crashers.

I soooo want Mercs, however I'm not sure that my command will let me play it (Is Mercs classified as a shooter?)

I'm wasting away at the hospital over here, but at least I have internet access.  My wife has sent me Too Human, Spectral Force 3, and hopefully she can pick up Tales of Vesperia or Infinite Undiscovery.

/sigh after talking to some officers and other military personnel, according to them no shooters or videogames that depict extreme violence.  PTSD related I guess.  Damn, that rules out Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway

Not sure when my copy of Too Human will arrive, hopefully I can recover my gamertag over here and log on.  I would love to play Co-op with you guys.

You do realize what this means...  You get to play Viva Pinata 2! smile

Don't forget Barbie Horse Adventures 3!!!!  icon_twisted  you know, we could always send his commanding officers a list of recommendations  icon_twisted icon_twisted

Can't play an FPS when the military creates them as recruitment tools, what hypocrisy  mad

Hey let's play some Tetris so we can all get fired up to go get some bad guys. From a movie quote, "You wear a peace sign and write "Born to Kill" on your helmet" "What side are you on?" "Why don't you come over to the winning team"

You tell your commander (with permission to speak freely and with all due respect of course) that the people of the US want you guys playing FPSs  icon_biggrin

Play Hello Kitty and then go man a MK47, man what's this world coming to.

I can't really complain about our xbox selection, since we actually have an xbox, but its mostly all the old stuff . We have (are allowed to play)  Kameo  icon_neutral , PGR  disgust , King fucking Kong icon_frown , Spider Man 3, and Madden 08.

On another note, I have the up-most  respect for combat medics (Corpsman or 68w). They do pretty much what a line Marine does and more.   After my combat tour is over I might even transfer over to that MOS.  Anyone in this forum do EMT or emergency medicine work?

Oh yeah, found a booby (booty as Peterock would say) trapped soccer ball on patrol the other day.  It was an obvious trap for me to spot and I'm glad I got to it first because I could see a bored Marine walking by and try kicking it.

Stay safe!

They have been forced to do that because of activists that love to scream about civilian casualties.    Therefore they tell everyone so the civilians will clear out, and then nothing is left but the traps.

Effing libruls.    smile

The province was so ridiculously filled with snipers I actually did the helmet on the stick trick....and it worked for our counter-snipers.

*whew!* Back from a pretty long mission.  I'm not really one to question the "wisdom" of my superiors on telling the whole damn province of an upcoming operation 2 days in advance, but I guess thats the way its done now.  So about 90% of the buildings my platoon and I were clearing out were booby-trapped and more snipers than usual yay.  On the upside, no KIA in my unit, only a bunch of wounded.

Dogmeat is doing well, and getting kinda fat.  We have a XBOX 360 here but for some crazy reason we are not allowed to play any kind of FPS.  What a world  icon_rolleyes

Fixed Tongue

That said, nice XD. I recently went Glock instead. Next purchase is either the HK P30 or the HK45, pretty much exactly like the one Kato bought. It really depends. If I have my concealed carry permit it'll be the P30, because it's just so much smaller. If I still haven't gotten around to getting the permit I'll go for the HK45.

We're assholishly derailing Kato's thread.

Anywho, speaking of the HK45, it's over a grand where you got it Kato? I got quoted $902 for one a couple days ago from a local gun shop here. Granted I'll have to pay tax on top of that, but it'll still be at least $50 cheaper. That sucks. You should get a military discount or something  icon_neutral

ACOG is great, unlike in COD4  icon_razz  Kinda crazy here today, had a badguy shoot at my patrol and I with a shotgun.  The shells were regular buckshot, but filled with a lot of glass and high density plastic.  I guess the reason for that kind of shot would be that it doesn't show up in an x-ray?

On another note, I came across an abandoned puppy that literally followed me back to base (after I gave it a little MRE snack)
Don't know what to do about the little guy, but he's way too cute to push out the door.....
