more like crazy black guy asshole white guy.  I'm just hoping this is a horrible rumor or the guy got his info wrong.  IIRC the developers said they designed Lynch with Willis in mind; I could live with the roles reversed but it seems kinda stupid to do something like this with the next game just around the corner.

You do know that Hollywood = stupid, yes?

Nice.  That is a lot of kinetic kills, unless of course the enemy are aliens from the "V" universe, getting killed by our bio weapon grenades.

I'm way more interested in this game than in Final Fantasy XIII, so I'll be glad to read any impressions as you guys move forward in the game!

-Autistic Angel

I have FFXIII, just started chapter 11.  I started Resonance of Fate just this Tuesday and I have to say that its like the opposite of the latest Final Fantasy.  For example in FFXIII, the battle system is slowly unraveled to you.  But in Resonance the whole battle system is laid out to you in the beginning. Traveling the world map is somewhat limited in the beginning, but not linear.  And already there are optional hunter missions available at the guild.  The battles themselves are what impress me the most, gun-duels that remind me of Gun-kata  (from the movie Equilibrium).  So far they seem very well done with great animations. Like someone else in this thread noted, the battle system is like Eternal Sonata or Valkyrie Chronicles, but much more complex and strategic.   I'm only 4-5 hours in so I'll have more impressions later.

Not to far in, probably as far as Jarrod is right now since I now have only two destroyers at my command.  Definately a space opera,
Spoiler for Hiden:
supposedly spans the early years of your character and then jumps ahead many years later when you are an established captain/hero fighting a new menace

I'm loving it so far.

Battle stress can make ANY man do almost anything. I wouldn't be surprised if it did actually happen.
The victors tend to paint history the way they want, often leaving out the horrors they committed.

In Vietnam we used to shoot body parts off VC while the others watched and threw them out of choppers as part of interrogation.

The Vietcong would put human excrement in the Punji sticks to help create infections in wounds.

All through history there are accounts of man doing the most unspeakable things to each other. Nothing would surprise me.

I support our troops 100% and they definitely don't get paid enough for their sacrifice. In war there is a great deal of hypocrisy, however.

Hatred for the enemy can/will seduce you to do things, you never though yourself capable of.

Two knife hits from the front and no invincibility while leaping across 15' of space would balance the knife fine.  Of course from what I've seem of Infinity Ward with this game I doubt anything of the sort will happen.

I played the hell out of this game and got my money's worth x100.  However, near the end I stopped having fun.

When are they gonna let us play as the Taliban? That should change up the gameplay a bit.

Yep, can't wait for that.  We played against a really terrible team for a while last night (with the exception of Proner and his brother 'Fumble who were carrying the whole team).  I really enjoy the huge maps of conquest, some of them are really vehicle oriented and I'm happy to say some of them aren't.

This is great, but it requires a set-up.

This guy named Guy went in to the BBC for a job interview to be a supply manager.  Turns out the news was waiting on another guy named Guy to give expert opinion on the whole Apple, Inc vs Apple Corps law suit.  A woman came into the waiting room and called for Guy.  The first guy went with her.  He was then interviewed on camera about the Beatles and iPods.  He went along with it, thinking it was part of the interview process for supply manager.

His expression on hearing the reporter announce the wrong name is priceless.

I guess the guy has become a bit of a hero in the UK for going with the flow.

Loved it.  Did "Guy" get the job? I was impressed how he handled himself during the interview.

I tried the first 3 SP levels.  Really nice.  I keep wanting to control the gun view with my right stick, though, so I wish there was an option for that (although I didn't look, so maybe it's there).

Otherwise, I see this as an "in short bursts" kind of game.  Played for long stretches, it feels like there's not enough overall variety.  However, there is a lot to do while you play.  Place defenses, upgrade, take over defenses, go for the rations tickets, fly a plane.  There's probably more I haven't seen.

To me, the style is what sets this game out, though.  It just looks really cool.

Yes you can invert and switch how the gun view controls work in the full version options menu.  Just pick one of the many southpaw options, which is what I did.
