Yeah I decided to get this. I'm in fight camp until late October so I have no time to play video games until my fight so this works out.

The Van Helsing developers are working on an action-RPG set in the Warhammer universe.

Sweet!

I'm only at lvl 16, but so far this game has its hooks in me. Hopefully I can link up with Jarrodhk or Harkonis and try it out.

Victor Vran on the pc so far. Very fun ARPG.

Saw someone tweet that it is built around a controller rather than a keyboard and mouse, true? (I don't have a controller, but may pick up a Steam one when they come out.)

Hey Lee, I've been playing with just the keyboard and mouse (there are 3 control configured setups, and I picked the one that is the most like Diablo 2-3) and it plays extremely well. I'll be switching to controller now since mine wasn't charged last night.

8  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Wanderers Guild trying out TERA ONLINE on: July 25, 2015, 04:47:37 AM
I enjoyed it at launch and played for about two months before I got distracted by a shiny new game. Back then, the only thing I wasn't crazy about was that it was slightly grindy and PC performance was a bit lackluster.
With that said the combat and graphics were fantastic.

As a child I watched the movie Jaws, and I didn't swim for a year. Watched the movie Alien, decided not to be an astronaut.  As an adult I was a combat diver and was too dumb to be an astronaut.
Now, I can't have a banana for a while frown

Good luck to them. This phase has more of a squad/team element to it. But the mountain climbing portions will either make or break the trainees.
I personally went through phase 2 during winter, not sure if going during the summer is harsher or not.

I'll be in Las Vegas and Scottsdale AZ for a fight camp and to help my parents move for the next 10 days, so only single player games on the xbox for me.

Good news is I get my shot at him in late August. Pretty sure I'll knock him out

Jarrodhk and I have been binging on Destiny. I stopped well before the first DLC Dark Below was released, so now we are enjoying all the new content. The new horde mode "Prison of Elders" is tough but fun, and the pvp is still great!

I partially tore my left calf muscle while training.  Did nothing out of the ordinary. probably just over trained a bit, especially my legs.  I'll be out for 4-8 weeks

Loved it!  It was the best action movie I have seen in a long time.

I do think they could have cut one or two scenes, gotten a PG-13 rating and not hurt the story at all.   I am not in favor generally of toning down "R" scenes if they are important but I don't feel like any of the stuff that was really violent was crucial.

I'm in favor of directors making the best movie possible without gunning for a specific rating, and just going with whatever rating the board gave them.

So tonight was my last night of hard sparring and training, so of course I got hurt. Possible grade 2 calf strain. My fight is two weeks out, the timing is horrible.  I see a doctor on Monday, and I hope this isn't as bad as it feels.
34  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [movie] Mad Max Returns in Fury Road on: May 14, 2015, 05:09:03 PM
There was one person in my group that didn't enjoy Fury Road, and it was for a legit reason IMO.
During one of the last released trailers for Fury Road, there is a dude playing a flame throwing electric guitar during a destructive car chase.
If you think this is ridiculously awesome, you will most likely enjoy the hell out of this movie.
If you think that a scene like that would be ridiculously stupid, probably not going to enjoy Fury Road.
35  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [movie] Mad Max Returns in Fury Road on: May 14, 2015, 02:50:27 AM
Best movie I have seen in a damn long time. While I enjoyed The Road Warrior, I didn't care for Mad Max (original) or Thunderdome.  No prior viewing of the past movies necessary to enjoy Fury Road.
The action, oh my god the action. This is a clinic on how to do an action movie. I'm trying to find something to nitpick, but I honestly can't come up with anything.
I am watching this again this Friday, I can't wait.

One of my students is a manager at the movie theatre in Fort Benning, so I get to see it tomorrow!!! Can't wait, and just from the word of mouth this movie looks to be "THE" action movie of the year so far.

Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor - I only played this more because I had to do a review. UGH.
Condolences on Steel Battalion Purge.  I played the demo for literally 30 seconds. Deleted it instantly after.
