1  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: It's Almost Thanksgiving (USA! USA!), What's your GOTY? on: November 19, 2014, 10:02:05 PM
PS4 The Last of Us - Gaming goodness that is a movie like action adventure with a great story.
PC Civ Beyond Earth - It might be a little flawed right now but I'm still having a blast with it.  Type of game that gets better as you learn it.  It will be supported for years and I can't wait to see what they do with the DLCs/expansions.
Close second is Dark Souls 2 with the amazing DLCs.

My end of the year play list that have the chance to take the crown are: Bayonetta 2, Smash Brothers, Dragon Age Inquisition, and the PS4 GTA 5 (I did not get the old-gen version).  Probably won't know until late January, too many games to play in a short time span.
2  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (11/18) on: November 17, 2014, 08:03:24 PM
WiiU Smash Brothers
PS4 Grand Theft Auto V
PS4 Little Big Planet 3
PC or PS4 Dragon Age: Inquisition

4  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 10/24/14 on: October 24, 2014, 09:17:21 PM
Playing Civ Beyond Earth all weekend.  Every turn seems like something new, really enjoying it.
5  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 8/29/14 -- Labor Day Weekend Edition! on: August 29, 2014, 07:30:07 PM
Will be playing lots of Diablo 3 PS4 and Hearthstone.  Possibly some Civ V.
6  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: August 27, 2014, 02:30:39 AM
Got my first green drop as a level 29 witch doctor.  I never had a set drop before level 60 on the PC version.  These were a set plan for the blacksmith.  Now I need the mats.
7  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: August 22, 2014, 06:59:33 PM
Cool moment today.  About a couple minutes after I started playing (field of misery) with my level 17 witch doctor, my controller started vibrating every 20 seconds or so.  I wasn't sure what it was.  I think some faint music or background noise started up too.  Then about a minute or two later, Diablo or some kind of act 4 mob glowing in red came after me!  I was like, what the hell is this!  I died almost instantly.  About a 10 second fight, I didn't have time to read the mob's name.  When I died, he exited a red portal.  Beware everyone!  The sucker is strong.

Rittchard, how did that work?  Did a legendary drop for you in-game and a duplicate was auto-sent to me?  Did the game notify you that it was sent?  Anyway, thanks!
9  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: August 21, 2014, 01:24:49 PM
Created a witch doctor last night and immediately got a notification that I had something in my mailbox.  It was a level 11 sweet legendary item from someone in my friend's list.  Pretty cool.
10  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: August 20, 2014, 05:40:07 PM
I echo the same glowing impressions of the PS4 version.  I've played well over 300 hours on the PC and this version breathes fresh air into it.  Excellent graphics and the gameplay feels right.  I agree it takes a little bit to get use to the new wheel like menu movements.   I like it though.  I'm playing on master difficulty which is a nice challenge.  You can't go into a fight head first with elites, else you die.  Playing a crusader and reached level 13 last night.  I'm extremely pleased and will be playing this for many months, if not longer.

Now I need to expand my friends list so I can experience the "named" mob feature.  Also, I want to find the Last of Us dungeon room.  Fun times coming.
11  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (08/18) on: August 18, 2014, 10:31:58 AM
PS4
Diablo 3
Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
12  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: August 17, 2014, 11:59:56 PM
I'm wondering when the 2.1 patch will come out for the PS4?  I suspect in a couple of weeks.  But it would be cool if it came out this Tuesday.

Either way, I'm really looking forward in playing the game from scratch.  No auction house and no cache of uber items with a ton of money waiting in the chest/bank.  It will feel good again after putting in 100+ hours in the PC game.
13  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: August 17, 2014, 01:28:43 AM
I just bought a PS4 this week so I can play Diablo.  Taking a half day off Tuesday to play a few hours.

I did pickup Last of Us with the PS4.  Been playing that while waiting for Tuesday... what a sweet game!  Really like it.
14  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC] Civilization 5: !#@#!@ Impressions Incoming! Brave New World! on: August 03, 2014, 06:05:54 PM
For difficulty level, I found the sweet spot to be Emperor.  I win about 90% of the time on King.  There is a big difficulty jump, IMO, on Emperor where my win percentage is only around 25%.  I don't like easy wins.

In the past couple of months, I've been working through each civilization to learn their strategies that take advantage of their unique abilities, buildings, and units.  Currently on Morocco, setting trade routes and generating a good amount of gold.

Right now there is no single player campaign but they announced one is coming soon.

I actually have some gaming time this weekend.  It's been about 8 weeks of busy weekends.

CIV 5 - my addiction game
X-COM Enemy Unknown - just started this, fun so far!
Uncharted 2 - loved the first one.
17  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: September 08, 2013, 02:32:50 PM
Nice to hear the console version is a better version.   Doesn't surprise me since the PC version was so beat up by the fans.

I will also wait on the PS4 version.  Hopefully the game will come out within a couple months of the PS4.  Definitely a day one buyer.
18  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (07/08) on: July 10, 2013, 12:29:20 AM
Civ 5 Brave New World
19  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Plants vs Zombies 2 on: June 05, 2013, 12:44:36 AM
Free to play... just like that, my interest in the game went downhill.   I hate this and the whole DLC model.  Rather have the full game in my hands on day one with one purchase.  Nickel and dime me won't work.   I was really looking forward to the game.   Oh well..
20  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist - 11/21/12 Long Holiday Edition on: November 22, 2012, 04:45:46 PM
Playing my main games on the PC Black Ops 2 and Diablo 3.   Black Ops has really clicked for me, very much enjoying it.  I'm basically a pure CoD newbie, so I'm learning the ropes still.  Runs sweet on my PC, graphics and sound is pretty good.  Also still loving D3, I have all five classes at lvl 60+.  Fun!
21  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist - 11/16/12 - Pre U.S. Thanksgiving on: November 16, 2012, 10:03:15 PM

I'll be playing Diablo 3 and Fallen Enchantress.  Still learning but very much enjoying Fallen.
23  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist 9/7/2012 on: September 07, 2012, 11:49:13 PM
Still enjoying Diablo 3 and I'm back into WoW.  Getting into dungeons or raids is so much easier and faster now with the function of server wide matching.  Way more enjoyable than a few years ago.
24  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 8/31/12 on: September 01, 2012, 12:25:00 PM
WoW...  it's been over a year, maybe closer to two years since I last played.  I was severely burned out on the game.  Now I have the itch again and it feels good.

Diablo 3
25  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 6/29/12 on: June 30, 2012, 02:15:41 AM

26  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 6/8/12 on: June 09, 2012, 05:01:09 AM
D3.  But not a ton of gaming this weekend.
27  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 6/1/12 on: June 04, 2012, 01:31:19 AM
Played nothing but D3.  I will stick with that until Civilization V expansion comes out.
28  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 5/25/2012 on: May 29, 2012, 01:36:36 AM
Had some extra gaming time this weekend and played D3 exclusively.  Got my DH up to level 38 in Nightmare act 1.
29  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Civilization 5: !#@#!@ Impressions Incoming! God & Kings! on: April 07, 2012, 03:33:54 PM
396 hours played and 90% of that came after the major patch last summer.  Civ V really clicked for me after that patch.   It is definitely a game that rewards you the more you play it... master it.   I can't wait for this new expansion.  Between this and Diablo 3, I will be set for the rest of the year.  In fact, I will probably be playing both games for the next couple of years to come.
30  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Star Wars Kinect on: April 02, 2012, 11:55:25 AM
I really hope that isn't real or it is just a hidden bonus game.  Else, that is just sad!
31  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: So I got a PS3 for Christmas... now what? on: January 04, 2012, 02:35:50 AM
Definitely Uncharted.  Start with the first one.
32  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 12/2/11 on: December 03, 2011, 02:54:38 PM
PC Fallout New Vegas just starting this for the first time.  Picked it up on the recent steam sale with all the DLCs.  Also a little bit of Uncharted.
33  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: It's Thanksgiving. What's Your GOTY? on: November 24, 2011, 02:24:41 AM
PC is Skyrim
PS3 is Dark Souls

Honorable mention is Rayman Origins for the PS3.  I freaking love the music in that game!
34  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 11/18/11 on: November 21, 2011, 06:33:25 PM
Most of my few hours went mostly to Skyrim.  I did get to start Uncharted 1 for the first time.  Wow! what an opening 20 minutes!
35  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 11/18/11 on: November 19, 2011, 01:06:51 AM
PC Skyrim

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
(PS3) Rayman Origins (with bonus pre-order Beyond Good and Evil in HD)

I will wait until Christmas for Saints Row: The Third (PC) and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

I guess I must be in a miniscule minority when I say that I am looking forward to buying the blu ray set. To me, the movies I grew up on went away when ep. 4, 5 and 6 became enhanced "special editions" in the late 90's. All these changes are needless and ridiculous for the most part, but underneath the CGI botox treatments, they ARE basically still Star Wars, and I can't just ignore that. Besides, my 7 year old daughter loves the Star Wars movies and she couldn't care less that they no longer resemble the movies I saw when I was her age. I can't allow personal nerd rage over all this to deny my kid the opportunity to create her own childhood memories of these movies.

Anyhow, I plan to buy the set and enjoy watching them with my kid. If anything, it'll be worth it for the superior video and audio quality on blu ray.

This times 1 meeelion

Agreed.  I am all excited for them.  I've got no real issues with the changes, honestly.

Yep, can't wait for these to be released.  Amazon pre-ordered.
